PixieWorks: Small Worlds

Rate this book
In the bustling city of Chicago, Kate Baraboo, a young miniature art enthusiast, stumbles upon an extraordinary tiny book. Having inherited a love for dollhouses and miniatures from her mother, she is captivated by the book's exquisite craftsmanship. On further examination, she discovers it's not just an extraordinary miniature but a manual to pixie life named 'Pixie Lessons.'

Guided by the mysterious clues within the book, Kate, along with her confidante Koko, finds herself drawn to the Real Foods Organic Market near their home. This is the start of their enchanting journey into a hidden world that exists parallel to their own. In a surprising twist, they encounter two pixies, Lily and Button, trapped in a wastebasket in Kate's workshop. These pixies belong to a tribe residing beneath the market.

The adventure escalates when a vacant lot near the market is put up for sale and a weed killer threatens the pixies' habitat. Kate, Koko, and Brad, an admirer of Kate's from the market, embark on a mission to save the endangered pixies. Their journey is fraught with challenges and unexpected encounters, including a stowaway pixie named Rye Seedlark and alliances with a friendly troll and an artistic pixie tribe from the Chicago Institute of Arts.

As they collectively strive to ensure the pixies' survival, they form deep friendships, altering their perception of normal. PixieWorks presents a captivating narrative that seamlessly blends the allure of artisanal craft with elements of magic, friendship, and adventure. This tale serves as a reminder that extraordinary things often lie hidden in the most commonplace settings.
