It's always said that confidence is key… but sometimes, it's nothing but a mask.
Lucia Torres has it all put together… or so everyone thinks. In reality, she’s breaking down after the failure of her last relationship. Add that to a looming promotion and rent she can't afford, and Lucia is desperate to keep from falling apart. She just needs to start by finding a place to stay.
Ari Morgan has never had any interest in settling down, least of all with somebody like Lucia Torres. They may share a group of friends, but tensions between them have never been higher. When Lucia needs a place to stay, he offers to have her move in without a second thought. To them, it sounds like a disaster in the making.
An unexpected night together proves what their friends always their chemistry is off the charts. Slowly, they start opening up, in and out of the bedroom.
But hiding only works for so long, and hidden truths are always revealed. Can they actually let each other in, or are their secrets going to send them into a force play?
Ashley creates incredible characters, fun group texts and is consistent across the series. I personally loved all the little insights into characters from previous stories and how that was included in this new addition.
Now Ari and Lucia, wow wow wow. Having some information on them previously but getting to dive into that deeper here was just beautiful. I loved how open, honest and comfortable they were able to be with one another while both chasing their own individual dreams and wants.
I devoured this story in no time and am blown away by Ashley's writing.
Thank you thank you thank you for allowing me to Beta read!
A contemporary, spicy sports romance featuring a player and athletic trainer who go from enemies to roommates to more. Ari Wright is kind of known in his friend group as a playboy. Lucia is known to keep her head down a s work hard for dreams. When their paths collide more than in their friend group the spice sure does fly. I enjoyed the underlying message of women standing strong for what they need and want. However, at about the halfway point, the spice dominated which caused the plot and those sweet messages to get lost (my personal opinion only!). It was great to catch up and have conclusion the other characters from the previous books in the series. 3.25 stars Thanks to the author and BookBuzzPR for the eARC.
This series just keeps getting better and better. Ari and Lucia have disliked each other for 2 years, since he joined the NY Stars and joined their friend group. It stems from Ari not liking her boyfriend and Lucia wants nothing to do with him. Fast forward two years, Lucia is now single and needs a place to stay and their friends talk Ari into offering his extra room. Lucia and Ari put their differences aside and actually grow closer as friends. Soon that turns into a roommate with benefits situation. Of course, everyone but them can see how well they work together but soon their feelings become more. Their chemistry was fantastic, they grew so close as friends first. Both sharing parts of themselves they keep hidden.
Beta Review! 4.5 stars rounded up ⭐️ Do not let the cartoon cover fool you, this book is filthy in all the best ways 😏 I am really starting to like the reformed playboy trope more and more. The kink to do list was wonderful and they checked things off naturally as the story progressed. So much great representation here but definitely check trigger warnings if you have any. I was rooting for this couple the whole dang book and was dying for them to just talk to each other about how they were feeling. Definitely give this book a try when it comes out! ❤️
I could stop, if I wanted too...just kidding, no I can't!!! Here is another 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 @authorashleybow
Force Play is everything I’ve come to love (and obsess over) in the New York Stars series— suspenseful romance, whitty banter, spicy 🥵 (seriously did someone turn up the heat to 100⁰ with this book??)and characters so real they feel like your friends. Lucia and Ari's story is full of chemistry, conflict, and all the swoony tension that Ashley has mastered so well!
Lucia is a strong independent woman, but her ex, well we hate Matt more than she hates Ari. Ari is just a man, misunderstood, trying to watch out for others, even if it isn't his place (seriously though, we hate you Matt!). Lucia finds herself needing a place to live and Ari just so happens to have the space. Can they be roommates? She really doesn't like Ari, but she doesn't want to be homeless or worse.
The mystery story of Lucia and Ari, is everything we needed it to be. We finally learn where the hate comes from (seriously, read the other books!). But it wouldn't be a New York Stars Series if there wasn't a connection (and we might have threatened pitch forks and fires if we didn't get these two together!) but this connection truly has some spicy 🥵 twist and turns.
If you haven’t started the New York Stars series yet, let me be the friend that shoves the first book into your hands and says, “Trust me.” Each story can stand on its own, but reading them all adds depth and Easter eggs that make the experience even richer.
This series is full of swoon-worthy men, bold women, real-life emotions, and spicy romance that actually feels earned. Ashley Bow doesn’t just write love stories—she creates entire worlds that I feel is real in my imaginary world...plus I seem to really like baseball ⚾ now 😂
Bottom line: read this book, 9/19/2025, preorder this book! Read this series, KU or order the books on her website! You won’t regret it. 🙌💖📚
THANK YOU BOOKBUZZ PR for letting me read this early!!
OBSESSED! This is my first intro to Ashley Bow and I'm a fan! This book was spicy, spicy! I couldn't put it down. I read it nonstop; it kept pulling me in! I love a book with multiple POV's so that right off the bat (pun intended) was a good start. Being that it is a book 4 in a series, I was introduced to characters that I could tell I'd have already met if I was in from book 1. I didn't need to read the other books for this to hit though, which is great since it can be read as a standalone. I will for sure read the other books because I quite enjoyed this cast of characters!
The bucket list was fun, I loved how they went about it and how it deepened their trust in each other and their relationship. I also love how they shared their cultures with each other. Ari and Lucia will probably be my favorite couple since they're my first in this series, but also because there is just a level of maturity and respect that went with them. (Showing up with sunflowers & being supportive, yes please.) As a reader of other spicy sports romances that may or may not be referenced in this book, I was waiting for that third act break up but this did not even go there. Their relationship only got stronger and I loved that for them. I was fist pump yes-ing out loud a lot, and giggling far too much.
If sports romances are your thing, this ones a grand slam.
We’ve seen this ship/trope building throughout all of Ashley’s books, but it was still somehow better than I imagined it to be! i absolutely LOVE lucia and ari together, their dynamic, banter and growth was exactly what you expect and love about this trope!
ARC Review of Force Play Book 4 in the New York Stars Series by Ashley Bow. This book is part of an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed this book. I give this book 5 stars. I loved the complex relationship between Lucia and Ari and the push and pull between them. I also loved all the spice. I also love the cultural diversity with him being Korean and her being Spanish. This is a slow burn, spicy, pro baseball player, athletic trainer, forced proximity, enemies turned roommates with benefits, workplace romance. This is Ari and Lucia's story. Ari is 29 and is the first baseman for the New York Stars professional baseball team. Lucia is 31 and an athletic trainer for the team. Lucia is the only female trainer for the team in a male dominated field, she is trying to get the promotion for head athletic trainer of the team. Ari and Lucia have known each other since Ari joined the team 2 years ago but ever since that day they haven’t liked each other and argue whenever they are around each other. Lucia’s lease is up in a month and she’s too prideful to stay with her friends so she ends up asking Ari if she can move into his penthouse and be his roommate. All of their friends are coupled up Lucia and Ari are the last single ones and their friends keep teasing that they are going to end up together because of all the tension they have and that they are more alike than they think, but Ari is known as a playboy and never sleeps with the same person twice. Lucia and Ari fall into a rhythm living together start realizing how attracted they are to each other. When out on New Years they can’t fight it anymore and have sex, they say it won’t happen again but it does and they make a deal to be roommates with benefits and to each make a kink list of things they wanna try with each other since they are both adventurous in the bedroom with the only rule being just sex no falling asleep with each other. It wasn’t supposed to be long term but now neither wants to walk away. I love how they start out just having sex but then their relationship grows and they start hanging out and become friends. I like how confident, fierce, and strong Lucia is and how she always stands up for herself, but her stubbornness and pride is a little too much for me at times. Ari is confident, cocky and charming, but he has always hidden a part of himself from everyone the only one who knows the real him is his best friend Cole. I love that Ari ends up trusting Lucia enough to let his guard down and share everything about himself with her.
It’s the book I’ve been waiting for the most and it did not disappoint. The chemistry? Off the fucking charts! The spice? Fucking insane! Ari and Lucia are everything.
Lucia and Ari aren’t friends, in fact they don’t like each other, constantly bickering and at each other’s throats. But when Lucia’s rent is raised and she has to find somewhere else to live, Ari lets her stay with him. From there it turns into a roommates with benefits situation that is insanely hot. How long will it take them to realize that this roommates with benefits has turned into more?
I don’t even know where to begin, Lucia is a spitfire and stubborn as hell, she’s so confident and speaks her mind and I just admire her so much. Ari is such a softly and actually has a lot behind those walls of his once you get to know his character, I mean he reads romance books for fuck sake, it only goes up from there.
Now let’s talk about that kinky bucket list, holy hell was it hot in every aspect. The chemistry between them is so hot, there’s a lot of dom/sub play along with degradation and praise. And some things you might not expect but is still insanely hot. The dynamic between Ari and Lucia, it just works, and they have so much trust in each other that you can just feel it with them.
If this is the last book in the series, which I think it might be, this has been such a fun ride. I’ll be interested in seeing where Ashley Bow goes next on her writing adventures.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗻𝗱 @𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗯𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗽𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗥𝗖! 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. The anticipation for this one was so high. I suspected it would be my favorite in the series (okay, I’ve felt that way about every book before this one). But I think it’s for real this time. I’d been wondering what exactly caused the friction between Lucia and Ari, and I was so ready to find out. Lucia was ballsy. She didn’t hold back, but she was more vulnerable when she let on. But I felt that was really important, because it went to show that it’s normal for women to feel emotions, and they should not be shamed for expressing them, which was inspiring. And speaking of inspiring, Lucia was passionate about her job and determined to prove herself. I wasn’t crazy about Ari’s initial playboy ways, but apart from that, I could tell he was honest and still did what he thought was right, because deep down, he was a nice guy. There was something about him getting angry on her behalf that thrilled me, not to mention him being tender with her. He saw through the walls she put up. Speaking of which, the progression of their dynamic was also top tier. I always enjoyed their banter, and here, it didn’t stop after the animosity passed; it just became more playful. The fantasizing (particularly on his part) and teasing just about killed me. Above all, the gradual transition from heated to amicable to more (even if it took the lovable idiot a while to admit it) made me smile. Overall, was a mix of sweetness, spice, and angst. It was clear there was more to these two than just sex.
Force Play is everything I adore (and obsess over) about the New York Stars series—suspenseful romance, razor-sharp banter, steam that feels like the thermostat is permanently set to 🔥100°, and characters so vivid they feel like your real-life besties.
Lucia and Ari’s story? Explosive. The chemistry, the conflict, the tension—you’ll be glued to the page. Lucia is fierce, independent, and refuses to settle. Her ex, Matt? Let’s just say we hate him more than she “hates” Ari (and trust me, that’s saying something 👀).
Ari, meanwhile, is just trying to do the right thing—even when it’s messy. When circumstances force them into a roommate situation, sparks fly in every possible direction.
The slow unraveling of their history is perfectly done, and the payoff? Chef’s kiss. The angst, the connection, and the heat (seriously, Ashley cranked it up past max!) make this one of my favorite Stars books yet.
If you haven’t dived into the New York Stars series, let me be the pushy book friend who shoves the first book into your hands and says: “You need this.” Each book can stand alone, but reading them all gives you Easter eggs, inside jokes, and layers that make the whole series feel like a second home.
Ashley Bow doesn’t just write romance—she builds worlds full of strong women, swoon-worthy men, and emotions that punch you in the gut while still making you smile through the tears. Bonus? I think I’ve become a baseball fan along the way.
Preorder Force Play (releasing 9/19/25), binge this series on KU, or grab signed copies from Ashley’s site.
I absolutely loved this book! After waiting so long to understand the tension between Lucia and Ari, it was so satisfying to finally get those answers, and even more rewarding to see the depth behind their hostility. Their story was genuinely beautiful. Watching them slowly lower their walls and help each other heal in unexpected ways gave the book so much emotional weight. The acceptance and understanding between them felt incredibly authentic and added so much heart to their relationship.
♡ “I want you on your knees so I can finally shut you up.” ♥
Lucia and Ari are now officially my favorite Stars couple. Their chemistry was intense, their dynamic was layered, and their growth as individuals and as a pair made their story unforgettable. And the spice…just wow. Ashley brought the heat in all the right ways, and it was woven in so naturally that it never took away from the emotional core of the book.
♥ “This book has me sucked in right now. I had no idea cowboys could be this hot. I was so wrong. Yee f*cking haw.” ♡
I have no idea if there are more books coming in this series, but if there are, I’ll be ready the second they drop.

Ari and Lucia hit a grand slam folks! I couldn’t wait for their story. I needed to know why they didn’t like each other, why Lucia’s claws came out any time Ari was around, and although the reason seemed a little childish as I read on I understood why it bothered both of them so much.
Lucia Torres is confident and fiery. She is the ultimate girls girl. She is an athletic trainer for The Stars, she also happens to be the only female on the athletic training team. Besides dealing with a misogynist coworker she is attempting to break the ceiling by making sure women know that they have a place in sports. But even though she’s confident in some areas she’s vulnerable and afraid to be seen as that. So she keeps the mask on, until it starts slipping with Ari.
Ari Morgan the first baseman for the Stars and believe it or not a total Eomma’s boy! He’s a playboy with fear of commitment- for himself. He loves that his friends have found love and will help them at all cost. But Ari is like an onion. He has so many layers to him. I loved getting to know them. I love realizing that both him and Lucia have a lot in common, they’re both tired of putting on a show and trying to be who they are not.
The transition from I hate you to roommates to friends with benefits to more was amazing. The FWB stage were the spiciest scenes ever, they gave Cole and Rory a run for their money. And those were hot! But among the spice there was also trust and a vulnerability that Ari only had shared with one person. The way it was handled was beautiful.
This book had a lot of sensitive topics and they were handled great - in my opinion. Lucia dealing with her misogynistic coworker boiled my blood. I wanted to jump in the book and cuss him out. Among other things. Ari’s father was another piece of work. #Useless #Mean #Asshat Ari’s vulnerability when opening up to Lucia and her acceptance and making sure Ari knew it, was beautiful and emotional. This book just sent me on an emotional journey. And I love it.
Like the other books in the series the found family aspect was great and on point. This group is the epitome of family does not have to be blood. Reading Ashley’s books is like reading about your friend’s lives, and I’m not ready to say goodbye. #ThisBostonFanRootingForNewYork
Karley Maddox didn’t exactly have a soft start in life—separated from her brother, parents who were just… awful. But with the love of her foster family and her passion for art, she found her footing. And then Oliver Lincoln walks back into her life—her brother’s best friend, the same guy who once crushed her teenage heart. Now he needs a fake wife to buy a gallery, and Karley agrees—for the money, sure, but also for her own dream of starting a foster program. What’s supposed to be a simple deal starts turning into everything but. Living together again brings up old feelings, new sparks, and moments that are so much more than pretend. I loved this story. It’s emotional, soft, a little messy in the best way. Karley’s strength, her quiet vulnerability, the way she pours herself into her art—it all hit so hard. And Oliver? I was not expecting to love him as much as I did. He’s got this confident exterior, but underneath he’s just a total softie who genuinely cares. The fake marriage setup worked so well. Nothing over the top—just that slow build, that tension, the kind that makes your heart ache a little. And the whole mystery around the anonymous artist? That was such a nice touch. This is one of those stories that leaves you warm and full and thinking about the characters long after the last page.
I just finished Force Play by Ashley Bow, and wow — what a perfect way to end this series! Ari and Lucia have had sizzling chemistry and tension from the very first page, and it was such a thrill watching them finally fall for each other.
Lucia, still recovering from her last relationship, moves into Ari’s spare room—a setup that screams “disaster waiting to happen”—but instead of chaos, they uncover truths, open up, and finally stop hiding how much they mean to each other.
This couple is incredible—perfectly matched, supportive, and full of depth (plus Ari has a few surprises that made me love him even more). And yes, it’s probably the steamiest book in the series… in the best way.
Their journey into love was thrilling and unpredictable. Both are so certain about what they want, yet secretly unsure, and when the boundaries they set start to blur, it’s fascinating to watch them struggle to stay within the lines—even when it’s obvious things are completely out of control. I love how they trust each other enough to explore new experiences together, and I adore that both Ari and Lucia have wonderfully filthy mouths. The scenes where they tackle items on their bucket list are absolutely scorching
I also loved seeing the other couples return. If you’ve been following this series, you definitely don’t want to miss this finale!
⚾ Enemies-friends-lovers ♥️ Found family ⚾ Baseball player/athletic trainer ♥️ Reformed play boy ⚾ Forced proximity ♥️ Roommates with benefits
This is the 4th book in the New York Stars series .This story follows Lucia Torres and Ari Morgan. Lucia is a feisty, independent girl. She is an athletic trainer for the Stars. Her life feels like it's going down hill. She just got out of a bad relationship, no place to live and in competition with a misogynistic co worker for the head trainer position. One of her problems is solved when Ari Morgan lets her be his roommate. Ari is the first baseman on the team. He's a cocky play boy. Who doesn't ever want to settle down.
Moving in Ari would a be disaster since they can't stand each other, but I think that's the least of their worries when after one kiss changes everything.
This is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I would suggest reading the others because the characters in the other books are in this one and things about their lives are mentioned in it. I recommend this book. Even though this is a very spicy romance, there's more to it. It's about found family, being who are, embracing yourself, never letting someone stop you from being who you want to be.
"Thank you to BookBuzz PR and Ashley Bow for the ARC. This is my honest review.
Lucia and Ari have butted heads for years...every time they are together there is tension. When Lucia needs a place to crash while she find a new place to live, Ari offers her the spare room in his apartment.
What follows is the two getting to know each other and discovering that their hatred for one another is actually sexual tension. When they agree to ""just one night"" to get it out of their systems...well we all know how that goes. They each create a list of things they want to try in the bedroom and agree that, together, they will check the items off one by one.
This is the second book in this series that I've read and in some ways I liked it so much more than the other, and in other ways it didn't quite hit for me. I loved the development of the characters, the way that things didn't seem to linger for long, and the interactions between all the secondary characters. I'm not a huge fan of the 'Good Boy' trope so for me, that was a miss - but that is totally on me! This was a fun, spicy, and entertaining read! "

I have been waiting for Ari’s book and this did not disappoint whatsoever.
Ari and Lucia are such an interesting pair. They really did not like each other in the beginning. But it was all miscommunication (at least I think so) and not wanting to prove the other one right. But they make such the perfect couple!
Ari may seem like a grade A a-hole, but he is really just a giant teddy bear. Oh and he gets super jealous. So I guess he’s almost like a sour patch kid, but more sweet than sour. But I LOVE him.
Lucia is stubborn! But she has a lot to offer. She loves her job, she’s loyal and she will do anything for the ones she loves. I love how dedicated she is.
The one thing I loved about their relationship is how much they learn during it. The kinks they like, how to navigate living together, and really just learning about each other. And that’s how a real relationship is like and I just absolutely loved seeing this.
I’m sad this series has come to an end, but I loved getting to know the characters in this world.
There aren’t enough words that could explain how good this book is. Book 4 in the New York Stars series and it didn’t disappoint. I love when the main characters aren’t the typical ones. We have a Spanish FMC who has a mouth like a sailor, strong and changing stereotypes of women being in sports medicine like being a trainer in a male sport. Then there’s the MMC is of Asian descent and a total hotty. If you ever seen Russell Wong in Romeo Must Die, that is the level of hotness I’m giving him. I was so excited they got a book together. The amount of tension they had in book 2 and book 3 meant they would be just as spicy together. The tension was thick. When they were forced together, you wouldn’t think anything would come of it. But the end result was beautiful. There was so much spice I had to fan myself. It’s amazing what a list of wants can do for you. And the mic drop moments when secrets were told I didn’t see coming. I was like “omg”. I legit enjoyed this book so much. Yea I need a baseball man.
This is the fourth book in the New York Stars series. It can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading in order so you get to know all the characters. This book follows Lucia, who is an athletic trainer for the Stars. And Ari, who is the playboy first baseman. They start out disliking each other but when Ari (reluctantly) offers to let Lucia move in when she needs somewhere to stay, things begin to shift between them.
I think this is my favorite book in the series so far! It was spicer than the others in the series but I didn't feel like it took away from the plot at all. Ari and Lucia had so much chemistry! This is a dislike to lovers book, but there is nothing slow burn about it. Also, both of them had the dirtiest mouths! Ari had so much personal growth throughout the book and Lucia was so supportive of him the whole way.
I loved this series and I can't wait to read whatever Ashley puts out next!
Thanks so much to Ashley and BookBuzz for the ARC!
I came into this series blind as an ARC reader. I enjoy smutty romance, sports romance, and am bisexual. I, of course, love a million different tropes - but these are the most relevant IMO.
The spice was written SO well throughout. I legitimately had to take some self imposed breaks because 🥵 The characters were lovable (except for the two you know who’s) and even without reading the prior books I was able to get a general understanding of the interconnected relationships & friendships. The “pure” moments in Ari and Lucia’s arc were equally as enjoyable, moments that brought a smile to my face and would cause me to let out a soft sigh. Ari really is book boyfriend material.
Excuse me as I go read the books I missed in the series. Ms. Bow - truly great. Will absolutely recommend to a friend. You’re now an instabuy author for me.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
As always Ash, knocked it out the park (get it?😂) had the privilege of beta reading and honestly, I stayed up until 3am, two nights in a row, literally until my eyes couldn’t take anymore. Ended up reading it in than a day because I simply couldn’t put it down.
Anyways… Jesus Lord have mercy. I’d be lying if I said this book didn’t do things to me because it did!🥵 The supply closest scene. The scene where she watches him and HIS PRAISE KINK. GOOD GRIEF! I didn’t even realise I liked that trope but here we are!
These two are just spicy asf and I’m so here for it, Ari is without a doubt my favourite so far - although I’m certain I said that after every book🤷🏻♀️
The trust these two have in each other is just completely next level and I really am so freaking in love and obsessed & I’m here for it all!
If you’ve seen the microtropes you’ll know one of them is how he makes her ex listen, and when I tell you it was so hot, I mean it!😂💦
Tropes to expect ⚾️ Forced promixty 🌶️ Dislike to lovers ⚾️ Black cat FMC 🌶️ No third act break up ⚾️ Found family 🌶️ Roommates with benefits ⚾️ Playbook MMC
The FMC? A fiery Spaniard who’s prideful, stubborn, and yells way too much (her “strong girl” energy sometimes veers into annoying territory). The MMC? A broody, equally stubborn Korean man who’s just as good at denying his feelings as she is. Their constant push-pull, fighting their attraction while lying to themselves, made the tension delicious.
Now let’s talk spice 🌶️ • First scene hits by pg. 61 👀 • Open door, detailed, and heavy on the dirty talk (expect LOTS of cursing) • Dominatrix aspects, dom/sub dynamic, and even some bondage play Overall spice rating: 5/5
Flirty, intense, and messy, this romance is basically one long battle for control in and out of the bedroom. The ending was satisfying, though it dragged a little longer than it needed to. Still, between the tropes and the spice, it definitely delivers for readers who love chaotic, fiery couples.
I had such a hard time putting this book down in order to go to sleep. I have really enjoyed all the other books in this series, but finally getting to Lucia and Ari’s story was so worth the wait.
I’ve always enjoyed when Licia showed up on the page. Sassy, confident, and independent she has been a fav from the get go! She always has a quick comeback. She’s great with all the guys even with working next to them. She’s supportive and loving to the girls. And extremely loyal.
Ari even with his reputation I knew was a sweetie. I mean you can be a f-boy and read romance novels it just doesn’t work that way 🤣. I really loved seeing him in Cole’s book and how he interacts with those he loves.
Now getting into this book I couldn’t tell you who I loved the most… and even though Lane holds a special place in my heart (sucker for single dad tropes) Ari might be my fav now.
My words ring through the air, and it takes a moment for me to realize what I just said. The guys just look at me with widening knowing smiles.
Force Play knocked it out of the park! ⚾️ From the first chapter, I was completely hooked by the tension, chemistry, and emotion running through every page. Ashley Bow perfectly blends sports drama with a heartfelt romance that feels raw, real, and impossible to put down.
The characters are layered and easy to root for—both strong on their own and even better together. The pacing is spot on, with just the right mix of swoon-worthy moments, witty banter, and emotional depth. And the spice is next level 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️! Whether you’re a sports romance fan or just love a story about love that refuses to quit, Force Play is a total home run.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Add this one to your TBR immediately!
I was lucky enough to BETA read for Ashley and the book was phenomenal. I am a first time reader of her books so I wasn’t sure what to expect going it. But, let me tell you I was not expecting the 4🌶️ heavy spice that’s for sure. She has everything you’d want in spice plus some special surprises that I was for sure into 😏. I loved both characters especially the FMC she was chefs kiss!!
The plot was plotting. I loved how it unraveled and developed. If you love the “if they or won’t they” this book is for you.
This book is apart of a series but Ashley writes it so well that honestly it can 100% be read as a standalone since she gives you the necessary information you need. But, I am for sure going back and reading the other books.
Lucia and Ari might be my favorite couple from the New York Stars series from Ashley Bow.
This forced proximity, room mates, enemies to lovers sports novel hits every single mark and knocks it out of the park. Grand Slam baby!
Lucia is a strong independent woman who may just need a person who will stand by her and lean into the things she loves most. Ari is her match, that is a fact. & until these two get out of their own way, we get a front row seat to their banter, bickering and bright human beings.
With Lucia living with Ari she gets to see that Ari might not be the irritating man she thought he was.. and as they spend more time together being friends.. love certainly blossoms in the most organic way possible.
Also, don't let the cover fool you. This book has TONS of spice.. & yes, they both have lists.
Thank you to Book Buzz PR and the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
The level of cluelessness that happens between the main characters for majority of the book is astonishing. However, I did love that this book was great at integrating sports and a real life like romance. I feel like most sports romances tend to miss the sport part of it and its like 90% romance. This book held a great balance of both sports and romance. The gradual build up of the relationship between the two main characters helps develop the story so naturally. Every part of this story doesn’t feel unrealistic but genuine. The way only the understood and saw each other was utterly beautiful. Overall, I would say its an absolutely amazing book. There’s drama, swoon, found family, love, lessons, and lots of growth.
Whew, this was a spicy one! The power dynamic between these two was spectacular! They each gave and took with each other.
Lucia is a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to take it. She was a powerful character being a female coach on an all male baseball team. When she moves in with Ari, the tension can be felt through the book. As they start getting closer, boy do the sparks fly.
Let me tell you, Ari served to please Lucia. That man was down bad for his woman and was entirely unapologetic about it. He stood up for her like a man and treated her like his behind closed doors. The emotional connection that he had with Lucia was beautiful.
The tension, the banter, the scorching hot spice, the emotions — you get a little bit of everything good in this book!
