All the young wild animals think Bat is mad. How can she say a tree has the trunk at the top and the leaves at the bottom? Until, that is, they consult wise Owl who suggests that if they just try looking at things from Bat’s point of view, they might see things very differently.

کتاب ناز و بامزه ای بود!
اینکه یه سری جاها متن رو وارونه نوشته بود واقعا امتیاز اضافه تر داره!

خفاش از زاویه متفاوتی دنیا را میدید و تعریفش از کوه و درخت، تجربهاش از باران و ... با همه حیوانات جنگل متفاوت بود. دیگران دیوانه نامیدندش.
هرکس از منظره نگاه خودش به دنیا مینگرد و این در زیباتر دیدن جهان تاثیر بسزایی دارد. به نظرات هم و به هم احترام بگذاریم.
سیر داستان و تصویرگری کتاب بسیار دلنشین بود.

Un modo semplice ma divertente, e secondo me efficace, per insegnare ai più piccoli a cambiare prospettiva, mettendosi così nei panni degli altri adottando il loro punto di vista (che non dobbiamo mai giudicare senza conoscere!).
Lo consiglierei assolutamente, peccato per i disegni: capisco che lo stile “infantile” sia voluto... ma li ho trovati davvero brutti e penalizzanti per la storia.

An excellent funny story to introduce the importance of looking at things from other people's perspectives before judging them to young children. With bright clear illustrations, a clever interactive element and a simple but effective story this would be a great resource in a primary classroom and an enjoyable read for children aged 5+

Sometimes a difficult topic to discuss with children but this was an excellent way to show how we’re all a little different and how it’s important to recognise other perspectives. 5/5

Me encantó ya que enseña valores Morales principalmente la empatía y comprensión hacia los demás. Una gran elección en el programa "aprende en casa" le damos 5 estrellitas, a mis hijos también les gustó mucho.

Bat sees the world upside down. All the other animals think he's ridiculous and, of course, wrong. They tell him he's wrong ("daft") when he says that he needs an umbrella to keep his feet dry, or that the rising water of the river will get his ears wet. But when Bat finally asks them to hang upside down from a tree limb, they see the world as he does, and they understand that Bat wasn't wrong--he's just seing things from a different point of view.
This is an excellent book that teaches a valuable lesson in a very entertaining and approachable way. You have to flip the book upside down to read parts of the text, which kids will find quite funny, and the expressions on some of the animals faces are just priceless.

This is a cute story about how one bat sees things in a way that others do not. When wild animals alarm a wise owl about how the bat has gone crazy, the owl decides to see for himself. When the owl sets out to see if the bat has actually gone nuts, he gives the bat a few tests to see if it is true. The bat teaches the owl and all the other animals that maybe its time for them to see things the way he sees things....upside down.

روزی روزگاری خفاشی بود که همه ی چیزهای اطرافش را وارونه می دید.خفاش برای اولین بار وارد جنگل شد و جغد دانا می خواست برای خوش آمد گویی به خفاش هدیه ای بدهد.وی از حیوانات جوان جنگل خواست که بروند و ببینند که خفاش از چه چیزی خوشش می آید.
خفاش به آن ها گفت که من دوست دارم یک چتر داشته باشم تا وقتی باران می آید آن را روی خودم بگیرم تا پاهایم خیس نشوند.
بچه فیل گفت : چتر نمی گذارد سر خیس شود نه پا.
بز کوهی گفت که حتماَ خفاش اشتباه کرده است و آنها یک چتر نو به خفاش هدیه دادند.
خفاش از آنها تشکر کرد و گفت چه خوب که چتر آوردید چون همین الان در آسمان زیر پایم ابر سیاهی را می بینم حتماَ قصد باریدن را دارد.
بچه زرافه خندید و گفت آسمان که بالاست نه پایین. ولی خفاش باز هم حرف خنده دار دیگری زد.اوگفت که اگر باران شدیدی ببارد آب رودخانه بالا می آید آن وقت گوشهایم خیس می شوند.
بچه شیر غرید و گفت :ولی آب رودخانه پاها را خیس می کند نه گوش ها را.
خفاش ادامه داد : البته می توانم روی سرم کلاه بگذارم تا خیس نشوند ولی کلاه می اختر روی چمن بالای سرم.
کرگدن گفت : چمن که بالا نست ، پایین است.
حیوانات جوان جنگل فکر کردند که خفاش دیوانه است ،دویدند تا ماجرا را با جغد دانا در میان بگذارند.جغد دانا به حیوانات جنگل نگاهی کرد و گفت که من با چند سوال ساده خفاش را امتحان می کنم و سپس شما را آزمایش می کنم.
جغد پیش خفاش رفت و گفت که ممکن است به چند سوال مت پاسخ دهید؟خفاش نیز پذیرفت.
پرسش اول : بگو ببینم درخت چه شکلی است؟خفاش پاسخ گفت این که معلوم است هر درخت یک تنه در بالا و مقدار زیادی شاخ و برگ در پایین دارد.
بچه زرافه خندید و گفت :هر درخت یک تنه در پایین و برگهای در بالا دارد.
جغد سوال دوم را پرسید،کوه چه شکلی است؟
خفاش پاسخ داد کوه یک دامنه در بالا و یک نوک تیز در پایین دارد.
بز کوهی گفت : قله ی کوه در بالاست نه در پایین.
همه ی حیوانات جوان فریاد زدند که خفاش دیوانه شده است.
جغد گفت پرسش آخر من،من می خواهم به جز خفاش همه به این سوال پاسخ دهند.
آیا تا به حال خواسته اید مثل خفاش به چیزها نگاه کنبد؟
و سپس همه ی حیوانات را واداشت تا مثل خفاش از شاخه ی درخت آویزان شوند.

My 5-year-old picked this book out thinking that it was a Halloween book. It actually has nothing to do with Halloween, but rather is a story about a bat in a generic African location (lion, elephant, zebra, etc. are the accompanying animals). We liked the message about being yourself and embracing your own perspective on life. The illustrations weren't my favorite.

This is an amazing book that I cannot wait to show children in my class. The interactive element was a great twist!
Overall, the plot was very good with friendship and differences within people!
Unfortunately, I can't see a way, at the moment, to use this book for a whole topic. However, would be good for a lesson in PSHE or literacy!

This book highlights on the importance of understanding things from others' perspectives and it's okay to be a little different. Not only for the kids, adults can learn a lot from this too! Highly recommended.

A charming tale of learning to appreciate seeing from others' points of view (literally), the illustrations are silly, goofy fun. The story is sweet, nothing remarkable, but I can see the appeal to children as well as bat lovers.

The story begins by the line: "There was once a bat who got everything round the wrong way". Why could that be? Her perspective on life was hanging by her feet and seeing the world in a topsy-turvy way....not a normal way, that could be understood by the other wild, young animal around her. When she first landed in the neighbourhood Wise Owl wanted to give her a welcome gift. The young animals were asked to go and find out what she would like. She asked for an umbrella so her feet wouldn't get wet. What a strange request the kids thought - she's bonkers. She made references to the "sky below her" and what would happen if the river rose higher and she "got her ears wet," - mad, they concluded. The only answer that the group could come up with was that she was batty, off her rocker, daft.
The animal kids then tore off to ask Wise Owl for his advice concerning this strange and odd bat. In his infinite wisdom the old Owl sought bat out and asked her three questions, "What does a tree look like?' "What does a mountain look like?" and the last most important question he posed to the entire group...."Have you ever tried looking at things from Bat's point of view?" Oh the wisdom of the Owl. Everyone assumed bat's position (handing upside down in her tree, even the text words joined in the fun) and they looked out on the world just as bat would envision it. The rains began and the animal kids got bat's message loud and clear.
This innovative book is fun to read and the the upside down text is pure genius. The illustrations are simple, cartoonish and pack a lot of expression and emotion. They add an extra element of humour to this delightful engaging picture book. Perfect read for Hallowe'en.
