The Committee is a dictatorship that seeks to unite the alien realms. They claim to be the remedy of war and destroy those who go against them.
On Earth, Marah Morana is a seventeen-year-old who lives alone in her apartment with dozens of comic books and has little more than a special knack for archery. There’s nothing out of the ordinary or remotely alien attention-worthy of her. One day, alien rebels kidnap her and bring her to the planet Kosmir— the heart of this space fight, and tell her that she isn’t just special, she’s the key to ending The Committee’s reign.
Marah has no choice but to help the rebels, though she cannot figure out why she, a mere human who dropped out of school and ran away from home, could be special. Then, there’s the ultimate if and how Marah will end this decades-long fight.
I literally read this book in one night!! It was so engaging and the world building was amazing. It’s so easy to resonate with Marah as she is what every young teenage girl feels like inside. I love how each character is carefully written and are both dynamic in the way they behave and develop throughout the book. Each piece of dialogue is carefully crafted and draws parallels to what other characters have said or done. 10/10!!!!!
