Lennox and Legaci Worthington never expected to pay the price for a war they didn’t start. But when Saint Devereux sends his sons Greyson and Giorgio to kidnap them and settle an old feud, everything changes.
After losing their mother to their father’s street life, the sisters are cut off and forced to survive alone. They spend their days working at a greasy diner and their nights dancing at a strip club just to get by. Life is hard and about to get worse. At first, Lennox and Legaci are afraid of the two men holding them captive. Greyson is cold and quiet. Giorgio is loud and reckless. One feels like ice, the other like fire. But what begins with fear slowly shifts into something much more complicated as tension turns into desire and hate turns into something dangerously close to love.
In the middle of something they can’t control and a love they never saw coming, the last thing they expected was to fall victim to forbidden kisses from a menace.
New author to me and I’m entertained! Legaci and Lennox definitely have a case of Stockholm syndrome after being kidnapped by “hoenapper” brothers Greyson and Giorgio. Just when it was getting good… a cliffhanger! I’ll be back for part two.
DNF. I tried. This isn’t my kind of book but I loved the cover and the very beginning was interesting so I gave it a try. But between the grammatical errors and the absurd storyline I couldn’t do it anymore.
I couldn’t take it, I’m sorry. The whole ransom/kidnapping plot only works if there’s a loving relationship already establishedor at the very least, a believable setup. I refuse to believe some dangerous big boss would greenlight kidnapping his enemy’s daughters as revenge for his dead brother… when he clearly doesn’t care about them. Like, y’all said they “looked into the girls” before the op, right? So how did we miss that one works at a diner and the other at a strip club? Be for real. Does that scream beloved, valuable daughters of a criminal mastermind to you?
Also, everyone kept calling the father selfish and sneaky like… HELLO? That’s your target?? He don’t care!! 😒😒
Yes, it’s fiction but the pieces still gotta fit together for cohesive storytelling. I made it to Chapter 8 and tapped out. At least give us 5 chapters with the main characters to build some kind of connection before tossing them into chaos. ESPECIALLY if we’re getting every POV under the sun.
We start the book and the FMCs are already in turmoil… fast-forward a few chapters and yup they’re still in turmoil. “THE PRESSURE IS GETTING WORSA.” And now they’re kidnapped and I’m supposed to care? Yeah, no.
The MMCs were written shallow as hell. I’m sure they were supposed to “grow into something,” but one was giving “hot-headed angry man” and the other was a bootleg “cold, menacing alpha.” Sir, please. Two impulsive, fiery people with no impulse control? That’s not a romance arc, that’s a recipe for a DV incident.
Street life is not the best life and it’s not for everyone! Living that life can cause pain to all involved and family. When dirty is done in the streets, the consequences have NO names! Let chat!!!
Lennox & Legaci, these sisters were living the best life as a result of their father street life, but was not always happy due to the pain that life caused. See what they did know growing up was the consequence that can occur with that life, that was until they lost someone behind that life! What I loved about them was the closeness they have with each other. Lennox being the oldest she felt she needed to protect her sister. My girl didn’t bite her tongue at all and spoke how she felt not caring who you are - I 💛 it! Legaci on the other hand wasn’t as bad but don’t get her wrong, she will go there as well with no filter. Please stop playing with her! See what had me like yessss 🤏🏾🤏🏾was when they went in on their father Arthur and his trifling side piece - Kendra 🤣! When Lennox told Kendra “You still talking? Female Dog (you know the word 😉) I got another hand, and you got another cheek I will slap the dog piss out of you back up!” I was crying laughing 🤣. Listen I can’t say much without giving something away, but the way Arthur reacted had me 😡! Oh but I was not expect the street life to catch up with them.
Greyson & Giorgio, who I thought were twins 🫣 but weren’t is a force! Living the life that their father prepares and trained them for. Can I be honest - the mentioning of Grey eye had me wanting to learn more about him -🤣! See the Devereux men was about that life and then some! With following orders given to them by their father Saint, they find themselves fallen for victims. In all honesty I think both brothers were intrigued by Lennox & Legaci the moment they seen the pictures of them before any actions were taken and at that moment, they knew they were going to be a problem. See trying to smoke out Arthur, Saint decided to involve his daughters 😔! Now at first, I didn’t care for Gio cause he was rude for no reason and then Grey was mean for no reason 🫣. However once I learned there was more to them, I slightly started to understand their demeanor, but not their actions! Ya boys lived the best life and had a many women at their disposal. But when these other woman start noticing the actions of the Devereux men changing, they start becoming delusional 🤣! There is so much to say but again I don’t want to give the read away.
I can’t wait for book 2 cause the way this book ended and the mess within has me needing to know more 🤣!
This intro came in swinging—no slow build, no easing in. The characters popped right off the page, and the chemistry was instant, like they felt each other before they even knew what to do with it. And that’s the part that got me: they connect, but not in a cute way… it’s giving trauma bond meets wrong-place-right-person.
There’s this mental pull mixed with physical heat, but the line between them? Thin as lace… and definitely forbidden. You can feel they shouldn’t even be entertaining each other, but that tension is exactly what makes it hit harder.
And baby, if Saint’s brother Clayton comes back on some “faked my death” storyline in the next book? I need front-row seats. That twist alone would shake the whole plot up.
The story was good, but it stayed a little too safe—for characters carrying this much darkness and desire, I wanted the stakes to cut deeper. Still, I’m locked in and ready for the next part because I know the fallout is coming.
Now if you know me, you already know that I love a good kidnapping romance. And listen… if the men doing the snatching are as fine as Greyson and Giorgio? I mean, things could’ve been way worse, okay!
Lennox and Legaci are caught up in some real mess.. not because of anything they did, but because their daddy's past came back swinging. These two sisters find themselves straight up kidnapped and held in a house full of tension, secrets, and (let's be real) chemistry.
But are they truly prisoners? Because the longer they’re in that house, the more that “captive” energy starts shifting into something else....
And when the brothers take them to a party ...yes, a whole outing, you start to realize that lines are blurring. Captives don’t usually get glam and go "hang out, just sayin'.
Then? BABY. All hell breaks loose. And just when you're clutching your Kindle like "okay, what now?!"...T. Michelle hits us with a cliffhanger that had me yelling at my screen.
3.5 ⭐️ First time reading from this author. Kidnapping trope. Rival families. Two brothers kidnap two sisters. I do think it’s odd the girls were kidnapped even tho they didn’t talk to their dad but if they’re his only living family it makes sense. In a short term frame it hasn’t taken the girls long to soften the brothers up. The chemistry is there and the feelings are getting stronger but now iish is hitting the fan. Loved Lennox. She stands on business bout her sister. When they said Legaci was a crybaby they meant that. I do feel like her character kinda switch traits. At first she was petty, a lil bolder and handled her business, but soon as the kidnapping happened she was crying in the corner while Lennox started swinging lol. They definitely end up being total opposites just like Gio and Grey. Overall a good short read. Book 1 of 3. Ends on a cliffhanger.
Man, this book was so good! I saw the author in one of my Facebook book groups post about this book. After reading the synopsis and seeing the visuals of the characters. I was like, let go add this to my TBR. I love T. Michelle gave us visuals of each character in each chapter. When I tell Saint Devereux can get it, the visual of that sexy older man had me fanning myself. Gio and Greyson both brothers was giving BDE but they daddy, he gives me DBDE. This book was so easy to read and it gave you the right amount of drama, mess and a twinge of unhinged. 5 stars, highly recommend. Waiting on book 2
The story is pretty good and I love the pairing of the couples. I'm curious if Art is responsible for Saint's brother's death. Legaci and Greyson and Lennox and Gio are the perfect pair. Will Kendra and Saint end up together and will Kendra end up kidnapped along with Legaci and Lennox?
This book is actually good. I’m seeing the character development, it definitely has potential but it’s just getting started. I can’t wait to see how these relationships build or unfold but I gave it a 3⭐️ because it’s just getting started and I haven’t fell in love with the characters yet, but we’ll see.
I loveeeee this book and as much as I understand cliffhangers, this doesn’t feel like one. It’s as if the book stops mid plot. I wasn’t even prepared I feel like it was just getting started. But I can’t wait to read book 2 I hope it comes out soon <333
This book was really good this is my very first read from this author and I want more. When old girl messed old boy face up I laughed so hard. Yeah definitely can’t wait to see what happens
Unt Un now Ms T Michelle why in god’s name would you leave us like this stuck. I can’t wait for book 2 bc babbyyyyy my pressure is through the roof. Don’t know who got shot don’t know is Saint really know that Kendra trying to backdoor him..
This book was so great from the first page. Them brothers something else. T. Michelle did her thing with this book. And the last page leaves you dying for the next book. Kept me intrigued through the whole book. Can t wait for booo 2.
Never fun when parents carry around and have old beefs. Now the kids get involved. I think part 2 bout to get even messier. You got two sons and two daughters getting caught up and falling for each other. I know they daddies going to lose it.
This is my first read from the this author and she definitely had me hooked. From the beginning it was a page turner. I was not expecting the ending at all. Kendra just a dummy plain dumb. Legaci and Greyson is my favorite though
Can’t wait to see where this story goes, so far I can see the attraction. But can’t wait to see how saint takes it when he finds out his sons are falling for the girls.
My first read from T.Michelle and I'm beyond intrigued by this story. The chaos and banter between the girls and the brothers had me laughing and kicking my feet. Definitely will be checking out part two and the rest of her catalog.
This both is funny and messy and lovable. That darn Arthur is pissing me off tho. Hopefully this next book clears up something’s. I want to know what happen to the boy’s mama bc something ain’t right with that.
Somebody is in trouble! Did Risha shoot Grey? I have so many questions and not enough answers because I wanna know why in the world did Saint snatch up Kendra like that! Let me get the part two y’all grab this book and start reading.
Whew Chile. I read this in hours. I needed to get to the nitty gritty. I can already see what is about to happen. Let me not waste time and head to book 2 more. T Michelle been my girl so I know she won’t disappoint.
This book was so good I highly enjoyed this read can not wait to read more to see what happened. This book was definitely a page turner with some humor added
