This is a decent book for people interested in Biblical prophecy. It doesn't get too in-depth, so it's a good book for beginners. Parts are incredibly compelling, and if you pay attention to recent history and current events, lightbulbs go off. Particularly the parts about Russia being a major player in the war. The only negative thing I have to say is the last two pages are very redundant. The author says the same thing in every paragraph - just with different wording.

For those of you that follow my book reviews, you know I am a huge fan of anything relating to Bible Prophecy. In fact, that is how I became a Christian by wanting to know about End Times, the Rapture, and the Apocalypse. I was very interested when I read the back cover of Grant R. Jeffrey's book, The Next World War. "The escalating terrorist attacks in the Middle East and in major cities in the West are not isolated acts of extremism. They are the first warning shots fired in a coming world war."

In this book I wanted to know how the events that have been happening around the world and more importantly what has been happening in America have to do with getting the stage set for a third World War. From the events of 9/11 to the recent outbreaks with ISIS, I was hoping to find some connection with the Bible. This is a great resource for understanding the Muslims and the religion of Islam, including the motivation of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Since the book was released in 2006, it is a bit dated and doesn't include things that have happened since then. I believed this was a more current book on events happening in the Middle East.

It does detail the events from 9/11 but I was a bit disappointed to the extent in which it covered Islam and how people are taking the text from the Koran (Anglican translated) which I believe should be Qu'ran. I was hoping for more of a Biblical reference but instead found lots of references from the Koran instead. There were references to the prophecies of Ezekiel and Daniel but for the most part it dealt heavily on the history and rise of Islam and how it is impacting the world.

The last few chapters deal with the Biblical implications about where the world is headed along the path of prophecy with the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem and the organization of the Sanhedrin which will be responsible for the Temple duties. I think this would make a great reference for those wishing to understand the possible motivation of extreme Islam and how it could affect the world if it goes undeterred.

I received The Next World War by Grant R. Jeffrey compliments of WaterBrook Multnomah Publishers for my honest review. In exchange for a free copy of the book, I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions are my own unless otherwise noted. There are some references to the Old Testament and why there is such conflict between Israel and the Middle East, along with cross references between Old Testament names of ancient cities to their modern day possible countries which help readers unlock some of the mystery surrounding Ezekiel 37 and 38. For the most part however, for me, it remains a book dealing with understanding the Muslims and their Islamic religion, its origins, and how it might impact the world. For me, this one rates a 4 out of 5 stars.

Signs of the End Times are everywhere. Blood Moons triggered a new wave of prophecy curiosity. In line with that comes Grant R. Jeffrey’s newest book, ‘The Next World War’.

Delving deep into the prophetic warnings in Scripture regarding the last days, Jeffrey starts with the root of the problem- hatred towards Israel. He spends a great deal of time discussing al-Qaeda’s terrorist maneuvers & terrorists’ actions. There is also great discussion about the New Temple that is to be built in Israel.

Utilizing the writings of great prophets such as Daniel & Ezekiel, Jeffrey expands things many Bible students have already read. For example, he explores the modern names for ancient lands that are anti-Semitic. Some may be obvious. Some may surprise you.

I found it enlightening & it definitely cleared up a few misconceptions that I had in regards to Ezekiel. If I have one complaint, it’s only that I felt he spent way too much time & effort defining & explaining al-Qaeda. Most of us were present for the 9/11 tragedy & perhaps the news media hammered it home a little too much. I just felt that the text was saturated with this network while more time could’ve been spent explaining additional Scripture passages that are misunderstood.

Regardless, it is very well written & will no doubt help those of us who become confused with prophetic names & symbols. It is worth a read & it’s a four star piece.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

The pattern is clear. Non-believers scoff at the notion of biblical prophecy... but the scriptural description of the events of the last days leading up to the Rapture of the Church, the rise of the Antichrist, the seven-year tribulation, the battle of Armageddon, and the Second Coming of Christ continue to play out before our very eyes. For many, they simply don't know what to look for or how to understand the events that fill the pages of newspapers around the globe. While not comprehensive on its own, Jeffrey's book provides a framework for what is happening, what it means, and what to do. Along with other works that fill in the gaps or simply provide supportive evidence, this is a must-have selection for anyone studying eschatology or wants to feed their curiosity regarding the things that have been, that are, and will be in coming years.

A well researched, intriguing book that gets more fascinating the more you delve into its pages. I must admit that I was initially a little turned off by the sweeping generalisations against all Muslims, but as the author lays out the historical foundations of the Islamic faith and its origins, quoting not just from the Bible but also from the Koran and other historical texts, it begins to make sense.

What I found more interesting was the prophecies involving the nation of Israel and the Jewish people, and the end times, and how many of them have come to pass, or are in the process of being fulfilled. When the author breaks down the prophecies and through research, translates what each point means in our modern context, it really becomes eye opening.

Initially, I was not a big fan of Mr. Jeffrey because of his dry writing style. This book and most of his recent books have changed my view. His scholarly writing is now balanced by personal insight and many facts. While this book may offend some, one cannot argue the escalaton of future confrontations and cultural oppression. I would encourage those with an open mind to read this book to better undertsand the Middle east problem.

Should be read by everybody. This is one of the latest book by Prophecy expert Grant Jeffrey. It deals with Iran and what they are doing in accordance with prophecy. This book is an eye opener to just how close we are getting to the rapture of the saved by Jesus Christ.
