⚛️Entangled is the first book in the Blackbird Boys series, an interconnected MM romance series set in England, following the story of Sebastian - a pianist returning to London, and Remi - a quantum physicist that seems to be lacking that special spark from his life .
From the very beginning, a very strong connection is created between the two, but the road to HEA is full of small obstacles—both internal and external.
This story felt like a cozy, comforting read, and I deeply appreciated the care the author put into portraying this bi-awakening and the MMCs’ journey toward each other.
“Sometimes, you find pairs of particles that are what we call entangled. It means they’re connected in a special way, and that bond remains, even if they move far apart.”
With all this in mind , I personally felt like this book would have benefit greatly from a bit more editing and I’m not really a fan of another’s character POV into the story and would have gladly skipped Maddie’s.
All in all, keeping in mind this was a debut novel, the author did great and I totally recommend this as a cozy, slow burn / low spice read.

RECENSIONE A CURA DI ELVINO 1831
Questo è il primo libro che leggo dell’autrice e sono rimasto piacevolmente colpito dalla cura dedicata alla costruzione dei vari personaggi che animano le pagine del suo testo e nonostante in alcuni momenti o situazioni io non sia riuscito ad immedesimarmi completamente con i due protagonisti non posso che giudicare positivamente la fatica della Harper.
Remi Elliott è un giovane dottorando in fisica quantistica all’Imperial College di Londra fidanzato con Maddie la quale prima di partire per un prestigioso stage a New York presso l’illustre casa d’aste Sotheby’s gli chiede di ospitare il suo ex fidanzato dei tempi delle superiori Sebastian Arnette, talentuoso pianista, che quattro anni prima l’aveva lasciata senza darle alcuna spiegazione in merito alla sua decisione e si era trasferito a Parigi dove ancora stava frequentando con estremo profitto il conservatorio, il quale finalmente aveva preso la decisione di dichiararsi ai genitori e alla sua ex fidanzata nonché carissima amica Maddie intenzionato a vivere alla luce del sole la sua sessualità e aperto alla possibilità di trovare finalmente la persona giusta per lui, motivo per il quale aveva deciso di tornare nella capitale inglese.
Quando il prevenuto e poco convinto Remi poserà i suoi occhi su
Sebastian capirà fin da subito che nulla della sua vita sarà più come era stato fino a quel momento e allo stesso modo anche Sebastian capirà di provare una fortissima attrazione, ben oltre il mero aspetto fisico e sessuale, verso quello che è il fidanzato della sua ex.

I loved the romance in this book! A physicist and a classical pianist falling for each other? Perfect. The descriptions of music are beautiful, Sebastian is lovely and immediately swoon-worthy. Remi's theoretical physics background gives Harper the opportunity to go deep and poetic with quantum entanglement (which is actually really well explained, if my STEM degree is anything to go by!).
Even though I finished 80% of this book in one sitting, I could read about these boys for days. They're exactly my vibe.
At the same time, I bumped on a few minor issues in this otherwise completely beautiful romance. There's an important neurodivergent side character that I didn't quite connect with as an ND person myself. I don't think the author had ANY malicious intent, it feels more like an earnest wish for inclusion gone a bit awry.
The last bit of drama felt (again, to me personally) a little over-the-top. I liked the conflict itself (I was looking forward to how it would be resolved) but I felt like it was getting buried once physical violence got introduced into the picture. I'm not sure that was entirely necessary but that might be a me thing.
All in all, I really loved these boys and I get that the author was in a difficult situation with some of the plot points. I love that cheating never entered the picture and both MCs were really invested in trying not to hurt the former girlfriend's feelings. That was exceptionally well done. I'm genuinely on the edge of my seat for the next thing Riley Harper writes.

ENTANGLED is an intense and passionate love story where an unwitting love-at-first-sight blossoms into a delightfully tense and compelling slow burn.
From the very first page, Riley Harper surprised me with an unexpected narrative approach.
The two main characters, Sebastian and Remi, instantly captured my heart. Right from their initial introduction, they intrigued and piqued my curiosity. They are fascinating, wonderfully described, and their characters—their light and shadow—are unveiled at just the right pace, drawing you into their intimate involvement. They are two pure, beautiful, wounded, and courageous souls.
Alongside them, I discovered an array of unforgettable secondary characters. Often amusing, at times irreverent and hilarious, they were always there when needed. And then, there were others who made my hackles rise, making me hiss like a furious cat out of anger and disgust. The author truly mastered the portrayal of these supporting roles, skillfully creating figures capable of convincingly and unexpectedly crossing the "good versus evil" divide. This served as a powerful reminder that appearance is not substance and that, for better or worse, people can always surprise us.
Harper transitions seamlessly from addressing lighthearted topics to profoundly painful and rarely explored ones, imprinting powerful emotions on the reader. Yet, she also allows them the freedom to imagine and find their own answers.
Unexpected, breathtaking plot twists development abound, yet nothing feels forced; every single piece slots perfectly into its place.
The author's style, in her debut work, is gracefully incisive, elegant, and fluid. It takes the readers by the hand, without they even realizing how much time has passed.
I finished reading yesterday, but I'm still here, with Sebastian and Remi held close to my heart, needing to reunite with this multifaceted and splendid group of friends at the Blackbird to discover new stories, and with an undeniable urge to buy a fuchsia trolley!

What a great debut book!!
Remi and Seb are the sweetest. They have my heart.
It was so lovely to see their reluctant friendship turn to real friendship to a real relationship. It doesn't come easy to them, there are some big obstacles to face.
Entagled is a slow burn but with so many emotions. I love how Riley describes the characters, their flaws and their strengths. These two boys are so brave.
The secondary characters are just as wonderful and bring some funny moments, alongside true friendship.
I did not see that plot twist coming!

I would say I was completely "entangled" in this wonderful, beautiful, emotional story. It gave me all the feels and more. Grabbed me at the right moment. The way Remi and Sebastian gently yet resolutely move towards each other really touched me deeply! I could hardly put the book down, always wanting to know what would happen next with the two of them. The pure love warmed my soul ❤️. And I devoured the tender and sensual moments between the two of them, was literally waiting for them 🔥. I highly recommend this story and look forward to the upcoming books in this series.

Entangled is a hauntingly beautiful romance.
Remi and Seb are such complex characters, who we watch grow and mature throughout the book. Their love for each other breathes life and happiness back into their beings. They are true soul mates.
As their story unfolds, you feel the turbulent journey with them. You feel their fears and worries, but most of all you can feel their love .
This is a wonderful love story, full of ups and downs, but throughout it all, they grow stronger together.

Storia molto bella, scritta bene e scorrevole, un’intensa storia d’amore, appassionante con un colpo di fulmine palpabile a pelle ma che si evolve molto lentamente, dove trasmette anche forti emozioni, i personaggi si amano fin da subito, provenienti da due mondi diversi. Una lettura, dolce, originale ma con quel tocco di delicatezza nonostante i momenti drammatici che vi troviamo all’interno. 4 ⭐️
Mi piace molto il modo di scrivere dell’autrice , come ha saputo raccontare la storia, la delicatezza che ha messo all’interno e come ha saputo integrare la scoperta di se stessi, la sessualità conquistando il cuore del lettore.

But what a journey they had to endure to get there.
Sebastian, freshly back in London after leaving for a few years, is now staying at his ex-girlfriend's house. Maddie is not there? Her boyfriend Remi is.
While Maddie is in New York for work. Remi hosts Sebastian.
Remi is enamored with Seb. These two immediately have a connection.
The trust and vulnerability between them is so beautiful. This whole book is written so beautifully.
It's a very sticky situation they are in. You can't help but root for Remi and Sebastian though.
I could not help but worry for Maddie though and the fall out that would ensue once she realized her boyfriend was falling in love with her ex.
I loved how this was written. They were so tender, sweet and patient with each other. Such understanding and care.
Their story reminds me of fate or soulmates really.

Quantum entanglement is such a fascinating phenomenon, and the idea of two particles interacting and influencing one another, no matter the distance, is also deeply romantic.
When straight, brooding scientist Remi agrees to host his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend Sebastian, he never expected to form such an intense attachment, let alone fall in love.
This one was a bit difficult for me to read in some parts, but if you don’t mind grammar and formatting issues and you can get through a heavy dose of exposition, then you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful story, a charming setting, and a cast of richly complex characters. Harper’s prose is beautiful, evocative and emotional, with superb use of metaphor.

A heavy exposition dump at the beginning nearly had me DNF’ing before I got to the action, with a lot of telling vs showing. In the first chapter, I got the backstories, personality profiles and physical descriptions of Remi, Maddie, Sebastian, as well as all their friends (including descriptions of the apartments they lived in during college). This kitchen-sink exposition approach was heavy handed, with unnecessary detail that slowed down pacing. This was compounded by a lot of the action happening off page, revealed later in character retrospection. This narrative approach is great for time skips, but when overused can form a disconnect between the reader and the story, creating the sense that nothing is happening.
Structurally, I didn’t like the multiple POV (beyond the two MC’s). I thought Maddie’s POV was unnecessary, as the main antagonist her motivations could have been revealed in the story without going into her head. I also thought Remi’s mother’s POV in the epilogue was unnecessary. Its purpose only served to update the reader on the conflict aftermath, which could have been done through Remi/Seb. The mother’s POV also included an update on several of Remi’s siblings, which I found largely irrelevant.
Speaking of conflict aftermath, what happened with Maddie? There was talk of pressing charges, and then nothing in the epilogue. Considering she was the main antagonist, had her own POV, and was responsible for both the central conflict and the crisis, neglecting to mention her felt like an oversight. This lack of resolution with the main antagonist was disappointing.
All that being said, there’s plenty to enjoy in Entangled, and I do recommend reading it. Harper has a natural flair for writing, and with a bit of polishing and proofreading, I can see her becoming one of my favourite authors. I’m really looking forward to reading her future work.

When Remi finds out he’ll be sharing his apartment with his girlfriend’s ex, the last thing he expects is to actually like the guy. But staring into the eyes of the most beautiful person he’s ever met? Yeah, that definitely complicates things. Falling for his girlfriend’s ex was never part of the plan when he agreed to this arrangement.
Sebastian, needing a place to stay, reluctantly accepts his ex’s offer to move into her flat with her boyfriend while she’s interning in the States. Nervous doesn’t even begin to cover it—especially knowing Remi probably already has an idea of how things ended between him and Maddie. The last thing Sebastian expects is to enjoy Remi’s company. Catching feelings for your ex’s boyfriend isn’t supposed to happen… but maybe the stars had other plans.
I really enjoyed this book! I love that it was love at first sight for Remi—like the heavens opened the second he answered the door. I also loved how their friendship slowly turned into something more, how they both had these preconceived ideas about each other and ended up proving themselves wrong. It’s such a beautiful reminder that things aren’t always as they seem, and their story captured that perfectly.
What really got me, though, was how easy everything felt between them. Even with everything Maddie had said about Sebastian, Remi couldn’t help but see something different. From the start, there was this magnetic pull between them—like they just fit, two puzzle pieces finding their place. Even though there was some awkwardness in the beginning, they ended up clicking in the easiest, most natural way imaginable. But underneath all that comfort was this slow, steady ache—the kind that comes from knowing they shouldn’t want what’s building between them, but being powerless to stop it anyway. Watching them fall, one moment at a time, was honestly my favorite part. I also loved how Remi felt safe enough to open up to Sebastian about things he’s never told anyone else. That vulnerability said so much about their connection—and about how special Sebastian is as a person. It also showed that Sebastian could lean on Remi just as much in return.
If you love it’s-always-been-you vibes and love-at-first-sight stories, then this is one you’ll definitely want to pick up.

Dottorando in fisica e super razionale uno, pianista caotico e originale l'altro, non potrebbero essere più diversi; eppure si trovano a condividere casa e vita per una serie di eventi che vi lascio scoprire. Remi è etero, Seb no, e noi lettori riusciamo a capirli bene grazie al doppio pov attraverso cui assistiamo alla nascita di dubbi, emozioni, rabbia, paura e sentimenti. Di certo i protagonisti non hanno messo in conto di far convergere i propri mondi in un modo così intenso e complesso, ma a certi sentimenti non ci si può opporre e secondo me è proprio questo lo spirito del romanzo: mostrare come i programmi della vita possano essere stravolti in modi... deliziosi. Remi è la forza, Seb l'emotività, e insieme sono due cuori di panna che con onestà e coraggio affrontano il mondo. Non mancano alcuni momenti drammatici che mi hanno strappato pezzetti di cuore: per Seb costretto troppo spesso a nascondersi e soffrire in silenzio, per Remi che affronta la sua "rinascita" tra senso di colpa e nuove consapevolezze.

This was so good! I’ve had this book downloaded to my eReader for weeks and finally carved out time to read it and I’m so glad I did! I loved Sebastian and Remi so much. The pining, the chemistry, the protectiveness and the platonic handholding was so good!
I loved the journey Remi and Sebastian took to come together. The way Remi immediately wanted to wrap Sebastian up and keep him safe was adorable. Their dynamic change was such a cute ride that I truly enjoyed. I loved how supportive Remi was of Sebastian’s career and life in general and how supportive Sebastian was of Remi when it came to his self-discovery as well as his career. The way they would sit a talk about physics and music, I loved it. The side characters were fun, Anne is a crafty one and Remi has the sweetest family. I had fun reading this. So glad I picked it up!

I have to agree with others....with all due respect f*ck Maddie! She absolutely proves that you never know someone truly until they are forced to show you.
Anyways, while there needs to be a little more editing, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Sebastian and Remi are just adorable. You could feel the love they have for each other leaping off the pages. I completely understand how they felt because I've had that feeling. Granted, I was a teenager and had no idea what love was lol.

Remi and Seb were adorable loved the whole we dated the same girl and now have to live together vibe. Maddie belongs in the deepest part of hell. Hope the next book is about Francis. I have a feeling.

Really strong for a debut novel. I could feel the intensity and pull of seb and Reno towards each other. And I’m a sucker for great side characters and this book had many. This story was beautiful and an enjoyable read.

La storia di Remi e Sebastian nasce per caso, un amore che forse non dovrebbe esserci: tutto nasce da un'amicizia forzata perché Sebastian è l'ex fidanzato di Maddie, attualmente fidanzata con Remi.
Quest'ultimo è "costretto" ad ospitare Sebastian mentre Maddie è a New York per qualche mese; la loro amicizia evolve, portandoli poi ad innamorarsi.
Un forte sentimento che li porta in bilico tra desiderio e paura, rovinando il loro equilibrio.
Un viaggio nell’intimità dell’anima, dove fisica e musica si intrecciano e l’amore diventa l’equazione più complessa da comprendere.
Ho adorato fin da subito i protagonisti; l'autrice ha scritto un romanzo dolce e delicato, i personaggi sono ben caratterizzati e hanno una sensibilità unica, rara.
Devo dire che, vista la corposità del libro, ero terrorizzata all'idea di non riuscire a leggerlo; invece, la storia di Sebastian e Remi mi ha coinvolto a tal punto che pagina dopo pagina mi sono ritrovata all'epilogo.
La lettura è stata scorrevole, con svolte inaspettate e colpi di scena, nulla è forzato.
I personaggi secondari sono stati incredibili: mi sono entrati nel cuore, divertenti, a volte irriverenti e spassosi, ma sempre in grado di esserci nel momento del bisogno.

Entangled is a beautifully written M/M romance that captures the slow, emotional unraveling of two hearts finding their way to each other. I really enjoyed the journey between Sebastian and Remi their connection felt genuine from the start, and the way their feelings developed was both natural and deeply heartfelt.
