It’s December in the neighboring cities of Tawas City and East Tawas, and they have one thing in common—Christmas is drawing nearer. The only problem is that homes are being broken into in alarming numbers, with guns stolen. Even local militia members Curt and Curtis Hill are victims. That is, until Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason are on the case, launching an investigation even after the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) comes to town, taking an interest in the recent thefts. Agnes’s own son, Stuart, who works for the FBI, tells her to back off, but Agnes isn’t about to stand down. It’s not something she does, even after a threat of arrest. Life for Agnes and Eleanor is good, they’re planning their weddings to their respective fiancés, Andrew and Mr. Wilson, who still refuses to tell anyone his first name. With their hearts set on having their wedding at the lighthouse at the point, Agnes yet again is up to her elbows with ghost sightings, but that’s something that she’s grown accustomed to since her paranormal gift appeared. As Agnes tries to figure out who the female ghost at the lighthouse is, she finally acquaints herself with the ghosts that live in the attic of the Butler Mansion. The deeper she gets, the more she learns about not only who they are, but the dark history of the Tawas area. It gets down to the wire. Will Agnes be able to figure out who is stealing guns in the area, stop the ghosts from causing havoc at the mansion, and actually make their wedding plans before they land in jail or worse?
When Madison Johns began writing at the age of forty-four, she never imagined she'd make it onto the USA Today best-selling books list with her first cozy mystery, Armed and Outrageous, as an independent author. Sure, this book is an Amazon bestseller, but USA Today?
Although sleep-deprived from working third shift, she knew if she used what she had learned while caring for senior citizens to good use, it would result in something quite unique. The Agnes Barton Senior Sleuths mystery series has forever changed Madison's life, with each of the books making it onto the Amazon bestseller's list for cozy mystery and humor.
Madison is a member of Sisters In Crime. Madison is now able to do what she loves best and work from home as a full-time writer. She has two children, a black lab, and a hilarious Jackson Chameleon to keep her company while she churns out more Agnes Barton stories with a few others brewing in the pot. Books

SPOOKY HIJINKS Agnes trying to sleep at night, it sounds like chains being pulling across the ceiling. Of course Caroline reminds her that this was the only time the dead had. Now with the B&B, it was the only time for them to be undead. She is also known to wear Victoria pink underwear. As they are preparing for their wedding. Homes are broken into with guns being stolen. Agnes ventures up stairs to meet the ghosts, does she. We still have the ghost at the lighthouse, where the weddings are to take place. A nice funny selection of cozy mystery, I enjoyed the humor in them, and look for more by the author.
Agnes and Eleanor continue to entertain as they look for clues, this time about gun thefts in the area. We even solve a few extra mysteries, Mr. Wilson’s first name and whether our sleuths will ever get married are among them. They even make time to help out some of their ghostly neighbors as they try to clear the names of Curt and Curtis, two brothers who spent time in prison, but have helped our well-lived detectives in the past. The author did some extra research for this one, so it read a little like a travel brochure at times.
The senior sleuths are at it again, this time trying to solve the case of stolen firearms, while trying to keep formerly incarcerated local good boys out of jail for owning guns they shouldn't be touching. All this while planning their weddings at a haunted lighthouse and trying to play matchmaker with the ghost who lives there.
Very enjoyable book. Easy reading and engaging. I love how the author incorporates all the characters into the book from previous books. The main characters are such fun, and I really enjoy seeing all the mischief they get into.
This was a very entertaining mystery with a great cast of characters. Thieves, murderers, Christmas, and even a wedding. You couldn't ask for a more complicated approach to solving the mysteries and planning a joyous event. I loved it.
I have fallen in love with Agnes and Eleanor they come to life in all of Madison Johns books. You learn that no matter what age you are life is worth living. I was so happy to see Agnes and Eleanor finally get married as well as solve yet another crime. I would recommend this book to anyone but especially to older people. Madison proves once again that her work with the elderly has paid off by making the characters come to life.
These two characters finally get married to their main squeezes. Mildred and Agnes are trying their nuptials while solving yet another crime scene. Thoroughly enjoyable escapism, another Agnes Barton mystery.
Great storyline with my favorite senior snoops. I love Eleanor and Agnes. I hang on every word. It keeps me glued to the book page after page. Very entertaining. Well written.
This book was just as good as the other ones I read from the series. I so enjoyed the adventures Agnes & Eleanor got into & out of. Please keep up the good writing!
