After nearly a decade behind bars, Franklin “Kilo” DeLuca is finally free—but freedom comes with more weight than he expected. Once a quiet storm with a dangerous edge, Kilo finds himself facing the past he thought he left behind. Jameala “Mel” Sanders knew him before the system got its claws in him, and fate brought them back together when her job placed her in the prison he was locked in. What started behind bars now has room to breathe, but as secrets surface and old wounds reopen, Kilo must fight for the future he’s building with Mel—and make sure there’s never a question of his heart.
My God Kilo was a friggin idiot. The conflict felt so contrived especially when everyone was telling him to just tell Mel about the issue. When Buck is giving advice you know you're in trouble.
It was great to see the previous couples but this was a miss for me. And the previewing of Sophi's book was clunky as hell.
So this book is supposed to follow Kilo and Mel’s love story… except it jumps a couple years ahead and we meet them already living together, expecting their first child. The problem? We don’t actually see them fall in love. Instead, it falls into the “marriage in trouble” trope—which already isn’t my fave—but the why made it worse: secret baby, duh duh dunnnnn. 🙄
We even get POV chapters from the BM (not Mel), and honestly… who cares what she’s thinking? That didn’t add anything for me. The climax was anticlimactic, and while we did get updates on the other two brothers, I didn’t love the wives feeling some type of way because their husbands kept sibling confidence. Like girl… you just got here.
All in all, it was an okay read, but it could have been so much more.
The book I had been eagerly anticipating did not disappoint. Kilo and Mel's love story was filled with bumps, pain, and struggles, but when you are soulmates, all those obstacles pale compared to the love between you two. Although Kilo's past resurfaced and threw him off balance, Mel was there for him. She made sure he felt her hurt and pain, but she never gave up on him because she understood something crucial: if there was ever a question about his heart, she knew the answer. Buck's child, Benny, will need his book when the time comes. I know his story will be 🔥 with his wild self lol.
When I say this book didn't disappoint, I was so happy to see Mel and Kilo's story like bad. I'm so glad their bond was stronger than the mess. Love love loved it
I didn't think Kilo and Mel were going to make it, but as always, love always wins.
Kilo, quiet and always thinking, thought he had a handle on the situation with Shay. But like he told her and her brother, they could have asked. Instead, they tried to be shady and do underhanded shiggity. Look what that got them.
Kilo always wanted love, so if Mel had questions about his heart, she got her answer.
Truly enjoyed the DeLuca Saga. Buck is as crazy as the day is long. He has no filter, but he always has his brother's backs.
The Deluca brothers are a trip and a half. Buck will always keep it a buck and Stack will always bring baby brother humor. As always the banter is funny, the family is lowkey crazy and this one gave us insight into Kilo. Watching him & Thugga aka Mel work out secrets kept the drama turning in this family oriented novella. Bonus was the good dick down scenes and watching the family grow.
Life has a way of realigning the structure we think that is in place. Secrets also can curve the roads from narrow to zigzag that weren’t noticed before. Although we think omitting certain aspects of history is protecting someone it may be the only thing that hurts them. Keeping the option of allowing someone the choice to leave or stay is the key destruction of relationships.
The eldest Deluca has finally returned home. Kilo is reunited with his family, and most importantly, he and Mel can now begin their lives together. However, a figure from his past, harboring a secret, reappears. How will he respond? I am delighted for the couple, but I wonder if he will navigate this situation appropriately. The author has, once again, done a remarkable job with this series that can be read as a stand-alone also.
Entertaining read. Well written series. The ending didn't sit too well with me. Shayna wasn't completely innocent but she didn't deserve that. Ugh poor Liberty, and she doesn't even know the truth. The sad part is even if they told her what happened I'm sure they would spin it in their favor. The DeLuca brothers are all definitely selfish but it makes for an interesting story
When You Think Something Is Free Tacarra what a great read. When I say I love this family I do. Kilo was such a great older brother. I love how he was just like the others in wanting to protect those he loved. Unfortunately, he didn't do it correctly. It caused more drama than it was worth. It was such a good lesson learned on how to trust someone other than yourself in a sticky situation. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Next up Sopha… this ex been a thorn in my behind too many times in these series and I haven’t even met him yet lol 😂 I knew Shay was up to something what she didn’t know is that Mel doesn’t play about her man and is standing by him no matter what ! I wish Kilo had told Mel sooner but it all worked out for them
This was a good series and I enjoyed Kilo and Mel’s story!!!… This was one that you would really resonate with you!!!… I’m glad he and Mel got their HEA and a healthy baby boy delivered!!!… Family was strong through the whole series and I loved that!!!…
This book is great. I like how their story was. She held him down from the beginning and never faltered. The ex was delusional as hell. She thought she would come back after her parents were no longer here. I don't want to tell the story so please go cop the book.
Wat A Way To End A Series , I Just Love Them Deluca Brothers . Baby Kilo Ain’t Play About His Baby Mel & They Baby . Shayna Shoulda Stayed Where Her Goofy Ass Was At Cus Her & Her Brother Tried It & Found Out Who Kilo Really Was . I Didn’t Want This Book To End But It Was Sooooo Goood
This book was very detailed. The words had me imagining being there…everything was so clear. This love story was not over the top…just enough. But me being me….I want more. We would love an update on the entire family. Get the series…you will thank me later.
He ain’t have to do the momma like that. If it had been the parents coming back with the kid and needing help I would have been like awwww or had she had a terminal illness. But geesh
Mel loved this man through so many chapters of his life. She felt him, he definitely tried to shield her from the pain of his past. Kilo just didn't realize that she could handle it. They loved each other enough though to push through.
Kuko was passing me off by not telling Mel what was going on even after everyone told him he better before someone else does and that's exactly what happened. Would have liked to know how his daughter reacted to her mother no longer around
This was quick fast and good. There were some unanswered questions that I wish were addressed like an explanation to Liberty about her mom. I really enjoyed Kilo and Mel’s story.
This man! Whew. I still love Buck though but it’s something about a baldheaded man that gets me excited. He made me mad a few times, playing with my girl Mel but he know she not the one or the two! I love the DeLuca brothers down bad.
Yes ma’am you came through with this family the ups and downs highs and lows one thing they stuck together through it all thanks again for giving us another banger
