One man. One mission. One shot at averting war...if he lives long enough.
Adam Knight is on the run. After crippling the same shadow organization time and again, he’s finally pushed them too far—and now a relentless assassin is on his trail.
Meanwhile, a Turkish delegate is gunned down by a Greek operative in Geneva. With two NATO allies on the brink of open conflict, the fragile peace holding the region together threatens to unravel.
Penumbra Division dispatches Knight to investigate the killing and prevent an international catastrophe. From the streets of London to the pristine banks of Switzerland, Knight traces the conspiracy across Europe.
With the help of a determined French journalist chasing her own story, Knight must stay one step ahead of the assassin hunting him while exposing the plot fueling the chaos. Each clue brings him closer to the truth—and closer to his pursuer.
As tensions flare and armies prepare for war, Knight races to prevent a conflict that could consume the world. But in a game where every move is deadly, will he survive long enough to stop it?
If the high-octane narratives of Tom Clancy, Lee Child, Robert Ludlum, Vince Flynn, and Ian Fleming keep you turning pages late into the night, then prepare to be engrossed by the world of Adam Knight.
Fom its explosive prologue, Code of Treason immediately grips the reader with high octane action and palpable tension. Sam Cogley wastes no time setting the stakes.
Cogley’s narrative doesn’t idle. It launches full throttle into a gripping global thriller that blends espionage, psychological intrigue, and action in a style reminiscent of Tom Clancy, yet with a tone all its own.
What begins as a seemingly routine moment quickly escalates into a deadly confrontation involving luxury vehicles, roaring engines, and a dramatic escape that leaves behind more questions than answers.
At the heart of the story is Agent Adam Knight, a seasoned operative pulled into a mission that tests more than just his field skills. He’s forced to grapple with a psychological evaluations and shadowy interrogations, a web of deceit stretching across continents and the possibility that the truth itself is being weaponized
One of the novel’s greatest strengths is how it explores the blurred line between truth and illusion. Cogley introduces sinister forces skilled at manipulating perception, controlling people not through brute force, but through carefully crafted narratives. Is a confession truly a sign of guilt or a tool for misdirection?
From psychological conditioning to orchestrated chaos, Code of Treason asks tough questions about free will, control, and the human mind. Predictability itself becomes a weapon.
The stakes are undeniably global. As tensions escalate between two European nations, shadow organizations like the Penumbra Division press for results and the line between leadership and madness begins to dissolve.
“A point of no return: on the way to political union we are now crossing the Rubicon”
The novel presents a chilling vision of a world where twisted ideologues gain power under the illusion of salvation, raising the question of what happens when chaos becomes institutionalized.
Cogley takes readers from high security facilities to the warm glow of the Greek islands, one of which hides a secret darker than any sun drenched postcard would suggest. The action is cinematic, the pacing relentless, and the transitions between set pieces seamless.
Memories of past missions surface, adding emotional depth to the explosive confrontations. Psychic evaluations, shadow ops, and a hidden island laboratory all add to the sense of paranoia and thrill.
If you’re looking for a modern thriller that combines raw action with thought provoking themes, Code of Treason delivers. In Adam Knight, Cogley has crafted a new kind of hero, one who fights not just enemies on the battlefield, but shadows in the mind.
Code of Treason is an adrenaline fueled, psychologically complex thriller that fans of Clancy, Ludlum, and Flynn will devour. Sam Cogley blends intelligence with high impact storytelling, creating a world that feels both distant and eerily familiar. Readers who enjoy fast paced espionage with psychological depth won’t be disappointed.

This story begins with Adam taking a drive in England and on his way back, he discovers that he is being followed and tries to lose him. He learns that this individual is not easily giving up but eventually succeeds. He notifies his handler about the situation. The next day he goes to the London headquarters of Penumbra and provides them with a sketch he made. He is given a new assignment but discovers that he has to do a psych evaluation first. He meets with Dr. Vale who is doing the test. At the end he is told he passed the test. Before leaving he meets with a sketch artist and provides more details for the picture he drew. With this information, he discovers that person is Levi Savir an assassin. With that information he leaves for Geneva.
Adam's mission is to locate a Greece bodyguard who killed the Turkish delegation. He is to find him so that a war between Greece and Turkey can be prevented. Using information that he developed, he finds him, but he has died and left a suicide note. Adam brings the body to the Geneva headquarters of Penumbra where an unusual item has been discovered. With this discovery, he now heads to France to lean about an implant that has been discovered. While at the medical company two individuals have hacked into the systems and things get crazy. Learn what information Adam discovered that provided him with a theory that answered why the killing of the Turkey delegation happened and also insight to Sarah's actions revealed in Neptune Six. Follow Elena and Adam to where they finally confront the responsible parties.
There is a great deal of action which happens over a very few days. The ending will answer any questions you might have. Definitely a book worth reading.
Adam Knight investigates international organization trying to start a war - 4.5 stars
At the start, we witness the murder of top a Turkish negotiator who was trying to reduce tensions between Greece and Turkey. The story moves rapidly with much excitement. What was unusual was that several killers were people who involuntarily were following orders. International intrigue makes the story exciting beyond car chases, unexplainable suicides, and a number of one-on-one fights.
Adam Knight, using several assumed aliases, was the best problem solver for the Penumbra Division--a deep cover group (like the CIA). Penumbra employed a handfuls of sleuths whose mission was to maintain a semblance of world peace-or less war mongering-by stopping terrorists. In one instance, Adam was able to impersonate a company director, walked into a secretive company and learned details of their breakthrough technology.
Adam's skills ranked with the fictional James Bond and Jason Bourne style franchises. Adam was quick, could defend himself even when substantially outnumbered and was physically and mentally strong. Frequently, he convinced people to help and presented himself with a positive, level disposition in the most trying circumstances. He preferred to work alone, used martial arts skills, and was able to dodge a range of projectiles including chairs, musical instruments (tuba, clarinet, violin and even a piano), and fusillades of bullets. He even performed a long swim in the Mediterranean Sea as part of a stealth attack on an island fortress.
In "Code of Treason", some wealthy organization had developed a high-tech way of remotely triggering its operatives to become active terrorists. The reason for starting a major international conflict was too vague for my taste. The action sequences were done quite well.
Adam Knight is back in action, and that means we're in for yet another riveting adventure. This go around, Knight is trying to evade capture from a shadow group that wants to turn his skills into an asset for a nefarious plot that is gradually revealed. While he's on the run and looking for answers, he teams up with a tough-as-nails French journalist trying to find her own answers. In time, they figure out the perpetrators are working to start a war that could change the whole course of human history.
Suffice it to say there's plenty of nail biting action here that will put you on the edge of your seat, and makes for a story you won't be putting down until you get to the end. With Adam Knight on our side, though, you can be confident the bad actors will be put in their place and disaster - for now - will be averted.
As always, Cogley's storytelling leaves us hungry for what will come next in this series. Can't wait!

Adam Knight is being pursued by assasins but they don't seem to want to kill him. There are tensions between Greece and Turkey over minor things that could normally be resolved but aren't. It seems there is another force behind all of this and Adam has pieces to it, some of which come from previous cases (be sure to have read previous books before this one). The major reason that the bad guys can do everything they do seems to be a bit on the far fetched side (hence my 4 star rating) but this does introduce a new character that I really like. She is a french journalist and very spunky. There is obviously a mole in the group but who and how are they hiding in plain sight? Enjoy this crazy ride and how Adam still manages to frustrate his opponents on almost every turn.

Author Cogley's Adam Knight thrillers have action from the very start. Exciting car chases where Knight is perused by assassins, who work for a shadow Organisation that Adam has been hunting for some time. Great hand to hand combat where Knight has to take care of the last assassin, Levi, whose skills are nearly as good as Knights. He is tasked to hunt down an assassin who killed some Turkish delegates and which now has him involved in stopping a war. He is aided by a journalist whose own son was destroyed by this same organisation. Just as well he is a bit of a one-man wrecking machine. After all that he needs a rest, but I know he will be back as you just can't keep a good man down.

As to be expected. This one hit it out of the park. This is one of my authors that as soon as I see he has a new book. I snatch it up quick. This book came out swinging, and oh my! The storyline, the action. OH MY THE ACTION. Every time I read one of his books I feel like I’ve just read an action movie. But this one? I can’t go into details without giving out spoilers BUT OH MY! If you are a fan of this genre of books, this is one for you. It will quickly be a favorite.

Fantastic read. The author keeps you guessing at what will happen next. Fast paced, engaging, makes you want more.
Adam Knight is an operative for the good guys. He’s been pulled into some sci-fi thinking by the bad guys. They don’t want him dead, they want him caught. They’re sure they can turn him to their side and have hid work from within to cause havoc. Can he out-maneuver them or will they catch him?
Lots of action, believable situations and great characters. Plenty of subplots and good character development though I do think it's helpful to have read the previous books, just so you know more about Adam Knight and Penumbra - but this works as a stand-alone too. Makes you wonder just how close we are to having implanted devices of any kind - scary to think about.

Even highly damaged, Adam Knight is a powerfully strong agent both physically and mentally. Unfortunately like many heroes he continuously sees the need for additional action and has a hard time giving said action a pass for self care fearing it will be the end of his career. It looks like this time, his boss sees the truth and sets her foot down forcing rest and recovery. Looking forward to a broader resolution of Rubicon.
Right from the first paragraph, Sam had us on the edge of our seats with this book. It is a great continuation of the series and answers some of the questions from the previous story, while still leaving us with questions at the end of the story. I can't wait for the next in the series.

If you love action adventure books this series is for you! This is a great read, perfect for taking on vacation with you. Definitely a page turner, Sam Cogley is never a disappointment. You will find yourself reading long after the lights are out, just one more chapter, i could not put it down. Cannot wait for the next in the Adam Knight series.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Another great mission for Adam Knight with plenty of action keeping your interest. Knight runs into plenty of people some helping him and some trying to end his life or change the course of where it is going. You can't go wrong with this series.
Sam has outdone himself again. Captivating, dynamic, and thrilling. An action movie for my imagination. The Adam Knight character continues to evolve with this latest installment. Picking up where we last left him, coping with loss and a multitude of unanswered questions. The hunt for the ghost organization continues as Knight comes up against an almost equal advisory, almost. An action packed book with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more. Great job Sam!.
I enjoyed reading this full of action book. I couldn’t put it down so read into the night. The storyline was excellent and the characters believable. Waiting for the next book in the series.
This was an exciting, fast paced book that had plenty of action. It also had some interesting ideas about what mind control could do and how it might happen.
