Kyousuke Motomi (最富キョウスケ Motomi Kyōsuke) is a Japanese mangaka whose stories have frequently been published in the monthly Betsucomi magazine. She is most currently working on Dengeki Daisy.
She uses a male pseudonym and draws herself as a man, but she's actually female."If my stories can touch you, make you laugh, forget unhappy things, or even give you that 'good job' feeling, then I'll be super, super happy!" - Kyousuke Motomi
never really explained why she is not a genius diva prima ballerina anymore. So, she goes from ballet to the ancient art of Japanese archery. Really?!? This is a one volume story-so plotline, that it is moves quickly.
3.5 stars! This manga is a fun but uneven story. I don't know if it's the translation or the original story but there's a lot of back and forth and contradiction within the story itself. Plus some of the words don't make sense or were not the best word choice in this scanlation translation. But it wasn't choppy, I certainly seen a lot worse translations.
This was funny, I liked all the characters, it was a different take on regular shoujo: an arrogant but still relatable ex Primadonna ballerina who takes up archery and meet up with her old rival. Within the first few minutes they are beating each other up! Of course their rivalry translates to her trying hard and not giving up despite his seeming 'bullying' which is really his way of encouraging her. The story is progressing nicely, the two realize their feelings for each other and girl who used to be a ballerina fines her way with a new sport and regaining some self confidence. Not that she needed it! Enjoyed this!
I really enjoyed this one. Really really enjoyed it! I love dance, fantasize about archery, and have a freakishly huge soft spot for hard workers. It was as if it was the perfect storm for me. I also felt that it was extremely relatable. That is not something you often find in manga. Anna giving up something she had devoted practically her entire existence and identity to happens to a lot of kids her age. In some ways it happened to me too, so it tugged at me more and in a way that most other stories do not. I loved the exaggerated personalities and found myself laughing more than once. I can't wait to pick this one up again.
I loved this manga! It was short but really well planned out, so from the very beginning it was easy to get sucked into the story, making it seem longer than it was. The main character is a girl who starts to learn kyudo, and as someone who just started learning myself, I can really relate to her. She isn't the typical shoujo manga character, and I really enjoyed it because of that. Motomi Kyousuke did kyudo in college, so he was able to capture the sport with accuracy. I want to read it again, that's how much I loved it.
I really like this short manga story. It's about a girl who really understand the meaning, "If you work hard, put your heart and soul in it you will achieve whatever you want". It's also about finding yourself and make the choices that you will not regret later in life.
Love Arrow, while short, was a really enjoyable manga. I liked the characters even when they acted somewhat annoying and the plot was sweet and cute. Perhaps the best feature was learning more about the sport of archery through the archery club aspect.
From ballerina to archery champ, Anna was ready to prove that she could be good at the sport. Even if her old rival Jinnai (and club President) didn't seem to want her to join the archery team.
