Inspector Jake Fraser is about to have yet another busy month. A man's body is found in a tenement flat. Women have been going missing off the streets of Aberdeen. Members of the Business Club appear to enjoy the protection of each other's silence leading to secrets being kept behind the ornate front door. Jake is already trying to bring the murderer of Mabel Lassiter to justice and now he must try to uncover some of those secrets if he is to prove that there really are more answers than questions to be found within the walls of the Business Club. What Jake does not realise, however, is that there are other, less obvious, secrets to be uncovered in the course of his investigation. But those secrets may only further complicate an already complicated investigation.
I have been self-publishing since 2014. The Jake Fraser series is a police procedural set in Aberdeen in the early part of the 20th century. The MILO series is set in the world of Military Intelligence in the 1970s. If you prefer a stand alone read then I offer you One Less For Dinner and The Little Boy Who Didn't Like Corned Beef, which is set in 1964 as Aberdeen was in the grip of a typhoid epidemic.
Lovely story in its simplicity and set in my home town. Having met the author I was intrigued to read and have not been disappointed in the trilogy. Lovely recognising all the addresses and places.
