Fall on Your Knees Asa and his longtime partner, Javier, are looking forward to a cozy, kinky Christmas together. But when Asa discovers his coworker Drew has nowhere to go for the holidays, he invites Drew home for dinner. His motives aren’t entirely Asa and Javier are both dominant, and occasionally arrange one-night stands with submissives. Asa’s been hot for Drew for months, even though he has no proof Drew is kinky.
Drew has wanted Asa since the day they met. Drew could never come between Asa and his partner, but it doesn’t stop him from fantasizing about belonging to Asa. About letting Asa do filthy, painful, incredible things to him. He accepts Asa’s dinner invitation reluctantly, not eager to witness Asa and Javier’s domestic bliss firsthand.
When Javier discovers Drew’s profile on a BDSM site shortly before Drew’s arrival, the game changes. A bold proposition leads to Asa and Jav sharing a night of play and passion with a dinner guest who’s nowhere near as innocent as he looks. But as their not-so-silent night progresses, all three find themselves on shaky ground. Can they keep this no strings attached? Or is there a way for each man to get what he really wants for Christmas?
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy They were as close as brothers but hadn’t seen each other in a long time. The moment Shep sees Zeke again, standing there in his army fatigues, he wants to strip him out of them. Shep's trying to salvage a toxic relationship, though, and giving in to his desires for Zeke doesn't feel right. And even with Shep’s abusive ex gone for good, he still wants to wait.
When he and Zeke meet CJ by chance, however, CJ’s bold, brazen attitude lead to a sexual invitation they can't resist. Before Shep can say “three-way” he's lying beside the two, naked in CJ’s bed. The next morning, there are four of them. It seems like nirvana at first, but several partners engaged in sex is one thing; more than two in a relationship turns out to be something else. Shep has feelings for Zeke, and when it became obvious Zeke and CJ have feelings for each other, Shep's uncertain as to where that leaves him. He finds out quickly, and very soon discovers, that three might just be his lucky number for the best Christmas ever.
The rating is for the first story by JA Rock and Lisa Henry.
Wow.
*opens eyes a little wider*
Wow.
Xmassy sweet ? check Kinky? Hell yes. I will never be able to look at a Xmas toy train the same way again. Hot? HELL YES.
But what I wasn't expecting was the angsty, thinky bit. Menages look all cute on paper, but the realities Drew faces - coming in as a third with an established couple - wrenched my heart.
This is about three men trying to do something exceedingly complex with interpersonal relationships.
Highly recommended as an antidote for Instalove Yours, Mine, Let's Fuck and everyone is happy.

2nd story: E.F. Mulder
So apparently this is David Connor's writing partner, but this is a first solo effort, and it does read like a first book.
There was some exposition that was kinda clunky (also one piece of info is added - clunkily - twice). The narrative technique of also having the MC speak out loud to a horse to give us more backstory - I don't like it, craftwise.
The particular spirit of family banter Zeke, Shep et al have just wasn't my cup of tea, and I wasn't a fan of the style of the sex scenes.
"CJ reentered. He went in—“Ahmmmrgh”—all the way in. Shep could feel CJ’s bristly new hair growth against his butt cheeks. It touched his heart"
I thought the structure was weird for a short story. It's a menage, but the three MC's don't all meet until 40%. This then leaves the final events in the story rushed and feeling incomplete. I was itching to gut it and rearrange it. I had to push myself to finish this one.
So, not my book; may be appreciated more by another reader.
Fall on Your Knees is raunchy and kinky as an elf on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the story takes place over just a couple days, so it lacks real depth or closure
Asa and Javier, both Doms, are an established couple. Enter Drew, the sexy, slutty sub whose ass Asa drools over every day at work.
The three men explore some serious kinks (butt plugs, enemas, caning, double penetration, and more). Since Drew doesn't want to be the spare wheel, Javier and Asa agree to bring in a third on a trial basis.
This was fun with strong writing, but I wanted MORE, so much more. I read it as porn-without-plot, and it was hawt a plenty and mildly enjoyable, but the barely HFN ending left me unsatisfied.
~2.5 stars~
The second story by E.F. Mulder is a total throwaway.
The threesome is sloppily done. Big themes are introduced as if they're flies on a wall (Oh, he has cancer? No worries. We'll just fuck and make it all better).
There were too many secondary characters to shake a stick at, and the story was spastic with an excessive number of tangents and descriptions, and decidedly UNsexy sex.
This one was NOT for me. I skimmed and almost DNF.
This Henrock short upends the kinky gear bag with one notable exception which I'll come back to shortly. Since it's a short the Henrock is concentrated down to a fine demi-glace of the ménage awesomeness.
Asa and Javier are an established couple who are both dominants, so to quench their submissive thirsts they play with random submissives. Asa and Drew work together and the UST has been simmering. Opportunity presents itself via a snow storm in Minnesota and Asa jumps at the chance to invite Drew over for Christmas.
What. A. Weekend.
Good gravy.
Javier and Asa work Drew out harder than Jillian Michaels works out… everyone. I won't go into all the kinkanigans because there's too many to choose from, but I will say candy canes have a legitimate decorative purpose now.
What consistently impresses me about this duo is their ability to infuse their characters with life, make them three-dimensional and human. Above and beyond the kinkaliciousness I really, genuinely liked all three of these guys, and there is a sweetness between them that charmed me. The dialogue is crisp and fresh. They have a sense of humor. They're not the clichéd omnipotent doms nor is Drew a meek submissive. Henrock don't give us an easy journey between them or a outlandish HEA, but a first step towards a possible HEA.
A delightfully kinkalicious first step. Hopefully there will be a second and a third and I'm getting carried away now.
Now, about that missing element… *cough*MANTIES*cough*. I'd like a sequel to correct this egregious oversight. Pretty please.

No Hearts
I'm not going to rate this one essentially because it'll make me feel like a total bitch to 1 star a first time author. I'm not sure how a first time author wound up in a book alongside Henrock. It's not a bad marketing strategy to ride their coattails but I think it backfired. You don't want to be sloppy seconds to Henrock when they bring the kink.
I've no idea if there was a ménage prerequisite for entry into this publication, but this ménage never gelled. Everything about this story is awkward-the dialogue, the plot, the dynamics between all the characters, their reactions, the sex, everything. I think Mulder is going for raw authenticity with the dialogue, but it missed the mark and came off as strange, cheesy and/or stilted. OR the endgame is bad porn in which case DING DING DING. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
The characters have no depth and come across as mindless, horny drones who fall in and out of love at the drop of a hat. I've no problem with casual sex, one night stands, fuck buddies, whatever, but when you start talking about a future together after having spent 15 mins with that person and all the interactions you've had are superficial, I find that ridiculous and/or unstable. If you're going for characters that are unbalanced then they have to have depth otherwise I'm going to lose interest in a hurry and I did. They're all nonsensical, their actions are outlandish and, quite frankly, a lot of the things that came out of their mouths stunned me.
I appreciate the effort just not the execution.
A review copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.
I love reading Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock. Several books of one or both of them are amongst my favorite books.
This, however, was not one of them.
I'm one for kink, alright, and a rough and tumble and dom/sub and everything. Give me some smut and I'm a happy lady! I love reading a good BDSM story. I've read a lot of it and I enjoy it very much. What makes BDSM and kink great are the feel for the characters and the feels between the characters. I can take/read about quite a bit of play and punishment. Hell, I enjoy it. Even menages. I love a great menage. But I have.got.to.have.some.feels, or at least a connection with the characters. It doesn't matter if it's "romance" or "erotica", you can have feels with erotica too.
All that I've mentioned above fell short in this story in my humble opinion.
Something felt off, absent. Therefore the character interactions, the scenes and the kink felt... mean.
I dnf'd after the . Apparently it's not one of my kinks I enjoy reading about. Since, God knows, I've (TMI -->) It was not the per se, that made me dnf. It was more that it just felt mean. I didn't like how the character behaved and what they said. It was just.. no.
I wish I could have enjoyed this story more. I expected more from these authors since I have enjoyed great books from them in the past. It felt that the kink was just "poured" all over and the connection between the character forgotten.
#2 Shepherd, Wise Man and the little Drummer Boy by E.F. Mulder
* 1 boring star *
Here is an idea... How about NOT cramming all these plot points into this short story, eh?
(stupid stupid GR won't load this picture, while at LM it works perfectly. Arg! You can click the link to see it, though.) http://i.imgur.com/JHLqD77.gif
Too many characters to keep track off. To many relations between them to keep track off. Too many plot points introduced and keep track off. It got confusing and boring.
I managed to catch a bit of sweetness in between it all, though. But still..["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
How did I not know about this book. Been looking for BDSM and for MMM book for weeks!! This is tonight's Hanukkah present!
Thanks so much to Loose ID and the authors for this book. I am a huge fan of MMM and I find there's not enough quality supply of MMM stories :-(. But this anthology was so good!
Fall on Your Knees By: Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock
This story was SO good! Drew has been working with Asa for months and Asa has been fantasizing with him for just as long. And so has Drew with Asa. When Drew's Holiday plans get derailed Asa invites him to spend it with him and his partner of 8 years Javier. Javier has heard so much about Drew, he is curious about him. Both Javier and Asa are doms who now and then look for a sub. They are hoping Drew will want to play with them. What happens is sweet and funny and kinky as HELL! Drew is sweet but also has a bite. His sweet side appeals to Asa and his prickly side to Javier. Is not all fun and good times though. All three guys have reservations about what's going on. My gut twisted a couple of times there. But in the end some hope is offered in the form of a HFN.
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy By: E.F. Mulder
I do not know where E.F. Mulder has been hiding but I need more stories from him/her! This is to be honest exactly my type of story. The guys are kind of damaged, there's some form of obstacle to overcome yet there's some sweetness there without giving me diabetes and there's also fun. I was very satisfied with this story. Except that it felt a bit rushed in some parts. Still I will take it for what it is and be very happy with it.
Two bundled Christmas stories in this book. Both embrace polyamory and all its complications. There is a generosity and openness inherent in accepting a poly relationship and both of these got the feeling of it. They both left me with a good feeling which is one of the most important things for me in a holiday story, and thus is reflected in the rating.
Fall on Your Knees by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock 3.5 stars
A little lost lamb is taken home for the holidays. When fantasy and reality collides, not to mention the complexity of a new relationship merging into an existing one, there's bound to be problems. Polyamorous relationships are complicated and require communication. Except that's exactly what Javier, Drew, and Asa seem to be having the most difficulty doing.
While I know this is a novella, this seemed to go from zero to a hundred thirty in a blink. Not sex wise, but relationship wise. Seemed like happy house was a surprise to all, but they were ready to jump in pronto. It felt discombobulating in the rush to establish a triad when playtime was just fine. Because playtime was sexy and kinky as hell. Hot damn.
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy by E.F. Mulder 2.5 stars
Shep, runs a stables in Westchester, NY and is living with his boyfriend when Zeke, just out of the service comes to visit. Then there's CJ who is just passing through in a parade, or so he thinks.
Let's just say that each person's situation is unstable when they all try to get together so it's a rocky start for them, but they move well once they get going. Things get steamy, nearly out of hand and then it all breaks loose. Next thing they're spinning around like tops. There's ups and downs and all arounds with this one. The pacing is fast almost too fast at times and the prose is clunky in multiple places. But, even with all the flaws I enjoyed the story. As depressing or heavy as some off the plot lines are, it is irrepressibly optimistic, which is something I look for in a holiday story.
~~A copy was provided to me for a No Glitter Blown review~~ ~~~Reviewed for Hearts On Fire Reviews~~~
This is not gonna be like one of my usual reviews, because I will go full SPOILER on you and do a discussion, which I usually don't because I want readers to still have a reason to read the book ;-) But this time, I just need to get things out.
This book is--no surprise here--a full on erotica, so it basically contains sex, lots of sex, and sex. But there are also emotions and a relationship involved, so there is more depths to the story, which was good. Asa and Javier are an established couple, they love each other, but they are both doms, and when sub Drew happens to them, they want to see if this could be more. I was wary of this situation, a lot, because it calls for quite the amount of angst, and Mel and angst just don't go together well. I didn't really like the undertones of doubt and sadness and fear (=angst), but it was believable, so I could endure it. The struggle for all three of them was believable. Jealousy gets addressed, fear of being left out. But they want to try and see where this will go and we get a hopeful HFE. There were moments when I first thought this was going too smooth or too fast, but it really wasn't. I think I am more or less satisfied with how this was handled. But I don't like angst, so... I couldn't fully enjoy reading this.
Now for the sex... HOLY FUCK!!! I HAVE NEVER READ A KINKIER BOOK!!!. Which doesn't have to say much, since I don't read erotica, nor BDSM, nor kink that often, but... phew... You get: (rough) fucking, blowing, rimming, punishment, lots of spanking and stuff, enema, double penetration, sugar canes in butt and penis, clamps, semen decorated cookies, <--- eating cookies, sleeping tied up with an anal plug... Mebbe I've forgotten something, but well, you get the picture. Was this hot? Parts... hell yes. Was is interesting? For me, yes, because I am curious by nature. Did I like everything? Hell, no! Actually, it started over the top hot, but went down from there till the end. The sugar cane decoration scene made me cringe (granted, focus in this scene was the relationship, I get that, but still), Drew's fear of tearing in the DP... WTF! That wasn't enjoyable to me. All the spanking, caning and whatnot... And I feel that they did not care enough for Drew afterwards. He must have been sore all over his body, and yes he enjoyed the stuff, but still, how can you be this reckless with his body? DON'T FEEL THE CARING DOMS HERE AT ALL. They cared for him emotionally, and I liked the push and pull between all of them. That was intriguing, but all in all, I am left with a bad feeling after reading this.
I will not rate this book. I have this policy that when I read something out of my comfort zone and I don't like it that it's unfair to give a rating since chances were high I would not like the book. So, I will let my review speak instead and I hope you could see what worked for me and what didn't.
***
I will probably not read the second book by E.F. Mulder. The reviews weren't good.
Would've preferred to the whole book to be devoted to Asa, Drew and Javier...the latter I had a hard time with I have to admit, but I think only cos I really wanted Drew and Asa to be together ;). This story, Fall On Your Knees, just wasn't long enough...although it was hella kinky.
What I read of the 2nd story, Shepherd, Wise Man and the Little Drummer Boy just didn't capture my imagination I'm afraid, and yes, I know he/she's a new author but I think I was feeling a little let down by the abrupt ending of Fall On Your Knees. 3 stars.
I like the playful tone – thanks to Asa and Javier – mixed with the nervousness and excitement in Drew as this story gets started.
It doesn’t take long before the kink kicks in. What I really like about this, though, is none of the three of them are over confident or free of worry. Drew knows he wants something but not exactly how to make that happen, make his fantasies become a reality. For Asa, fantasy is becoming a reality and neither one feels right, not yet. Javier isn’t exactly sure how all of this may affect his and Asa’s relationship. So many questions.
Sometimes you don’t know what’s been missing until you see it. Or meet it. Or meet him, and want him.
Communication is vital. This is a large component of this story. Not that it always occurs when it should, or is carried out perfectly, with precision. This imperfection works to heighten the importance and impact of what is starting to happen between these three men. In other words, those dreaded (not really) things called feelings seem to be getting in the way. That’s Javier’s initial conclusion, anyway. Is it?
Oh, and did I mention the kink? Kinky activities take place in this story. Asa and Javier know what they’re doing, they’ve been in a long term relationship and most of that time has included these specific additives to their sex life, and relationship as a whole. Drew is beginning to understand how to translate his wants and needs into some of those same specific activities. They’re all struggling with their own personal uncertainties. Some of those uncertainties arise from the scenes they share with each other. We get to witness the process, including the emotion. So good.
As usual, the writing that results from this collaboration is fabulous. Yup. Rock and Henry get down to the human level, exploring through their characters. I felt included in a rather intimate way in getting to experience those discoveries.
A number of various toys and implements are used in their scenes. For me, there was one I’d never encountered in a story before. I’m sure it’s not new for some, but for me it was. I like being exposed to new things, if for no other reason that just to be aware, to have the knowledge.
All of the scenes felt real and not overly choreographed, making them warm with the discovery and enjoyment between the characters. Even when things don’t exactly go right, it’s not clinical or cold. As they learn together, the need and ability to share grows.
Rock and Henry are good with the one-two punch of heat and emotion. Intense and hot. And gentle, with patience, and all of these characters working to fulfill each other’s fantasies.
4.5 stars
Shepherd, Wisemen and The Little Drummer Boy – E.F. Mulder
There are a lot of characters to keep track of right off the bat, some of whom don’t even appear on page, merely spoken of in conversation. My head was spinning, but I was, of course, determined to keep going.
The main characters that do share page time are in their early 30’s or older. However, all of them sound like adults still using and living with the brains of teenagers. Toss in an overall glaze of dialogue worthy of cheesy porn, and that’s the setting we have here.
There are some really good ideas in this story. Adults who all became a part of a great foster family as kids and teens, foster brothers missing and caring about each other, one of them finally home for good after ten years on active duty in the military, and a father wanting to remain a part of that family even after him being the cause for divorce. Unfortunately, the execution of these ideas is not as good. The hopes for this story take the shape of whining characters and dialogue filled with non sequiturs and overly dramatic, abrupt sentiments. Granted, this definitely happens in real life, but when you’re trying to tell a story, it doesn’t really work.
There are some good one-liners and exchanges in here. Unfortunately, as well, the reason these stand out is because they are surrounded by what feels to be someone’s interpretation of a supposedly dysfunctional family (I don’t think they are, actually) instead of real conflict due to mistrust and disagreement. It’s hokey drama
If you enjoy soap operas, you might enjoy this. Otherwise, it may just be frustrating and cause a head tilt here and there.
Kinky, kinky and did I say kinky? Hide your candy canes! But that's about it. I didn't get any emotional connection between the established couple Asa and Javier and the addition of Drew as a third only seemed to cause them to question their relationship. I have nothing against 'play dates' and love reading a good BDSM a scene as well as ménage. I didn't get that here.
Asa and Javier have been in a committed relationship for eight years but can't or won't give each other what they need so occasionally they bring in a play date (third) for some fun. There were several reasons given about why they each needed a third that made it hard for me to accept a committed relationship and bringing in Drew, who Asa already had feelings for, only brought those problems to the surface. Drew, while being fully aware of his kinks was still a 'virgin' had a serious crush on Asa but was obviously willing to allow anything as long as he was included and wanted. I found him somewhat pathetic.
The BDSM scenes seemed more like to torture porn to me than a real scene as Drew was willing to allow anything and refused to safe word because he wants to be loved. Not good IMHO.
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy By: E.F. Mulder
A sweet yet clumsy attempt to create a ménage relationship. I enjoyed the made/blended family dynamic and there were some very sweet and humorous moments.
This is a new author and I can see some talent but this story needs some serious Editor guidance. With a professional doing some polishing, a few timeline corrections and hacking of unnecessary or confusing information this could be a very nice story.
All together I give the book 2 stars and am sorry I paid full price. Not worth the money.

Holiday horniness is at its best with Lisa Henry, J.A. Rock and E.F. Mulder.
Fall on Your Knees is a delicious m/m ménage with scorching hot scenes. Asa and Javier are uber sexy dominant males who make newbie submissive Drew stammer and drool.
What I liked about this story is the character development. I liked all of the characters and how they relate to each other. The ups and downs in a relationship and a confused third wheel is captured so well in this story. In addition, Drew is a delectable submissive. I like Drew because he is interested in the lifestyle, and even though he hasn't had any partners, he's experimented with different fetishes on himself. This hits home with me because several of the things he tried, I also tried myself when I had no partner to play with. I can totally relate to Drew.
The BDSM in this story is panty-wetting hawt. It's dirty kinky fun just as I expect from Ms. Henry and Ms. Rock. This story is sweet and spicy. Sweet with the characters and spicy hawt with the kink. Quite a bit of this story is suspenseful, with teasing erotic foreplay and sharing of sexy work-inappropriate fantasies.
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy is another smoking hawt ménage. This one is a bit more tortured with a slight PTSD military accent. Perhaps this is why I enjoyed it so much and why it makes me feel a little bit sad. Shep and Zeke grew up together almost as brothers. Zeke left to join the military, and when he is done and back, he's both more and less than Shep remembers.
For those who enjoy friends-to-lovers, this is a poignant one with conflicts galore. Add in family drama and Shep and Zeke's tentative relationship expands as they meet CJ, another former military man who's returned home with missing body parts. This story is filled with tender moments and painful ones. A reader witnessing both can't help but be sucked into the emotional turmoil and feeling what the men are feeling. E.F. Mulder is a new-to-me author whom I'll be keeping an eye on.
Both these delicious erotic ménage are recommended to m/m lovers who enjoy well develop characters and a bit of family angst to go with the holidays.
With two very hot stories about three men finding each other, this Christmas-themed anthology offers something for everyone. ‘Fall on Your Knees’ is a kinky, emotional, and deeply touching story about an established pair of Doms finding a sub to possibly become their permanent third. ‘Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy’ is a very naughty tale about three men, each lost in their own way, figuring out that life can be better in a triad. Both stories are very erotic, and I enjoyed them each in their own way.
Fall on Your Knees by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock Whenever two Doms fall in love, trouble is sure to follow. Even with one (or both) of them able to switch, the natural need to submit will never be something either one can give the other. Asa and Javier may not have seen this as a problem, after all they can always play with a third to scratch that itch, but when both of them are attracted to Drew, the game changes. Drew is an interesting guy; curious about BDSM but totally inexperienced, finding two Doms to try new things seems like a dream come true. The problem for Drew is that he doesn’t want to come between Asa and Javier—not for anything. Drew has a tough time emotionally, and I really felt for him.
What follows is a whole lot of experimentation, but with their emotions very close to the surface, it is an explosive mix. I enjoyed following not just their physical explorations, which were totally hot, but the fascinating emotional development as well. If you’re looking for a lot of kinky heat, three men struggling with their place in what could become a long-term situation, and some heartfelt moments, then you will probably enjoy this novella.
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy by E.F. Mulder The triad in this novella is more than a little complicated. Zeke and Shep have known each other for years, having grown up in the same foster home, but never thought of each other as anything other than brothers. That changes after they’ve been separated for a few years, but only Zeke can admit it at first. Shep is still trying to save his relationship with Harry, although I couldn’t see why he even tried. Then they meet CJ, and the game changes. I loved how the third man, acting like a catalyst, was really needed for the relationship to come off the ground. With both Zeke and Shep suppressing their emotions for fear of being hurt, they needed all the help they could get.
If you like relationships firmly founded in the physical, if emotions coming into play much later is not a problem for you, and if you’re looking for a read that deals with the character’s past as well as some painful present problems, then you might like this novella.

Fall on Your Knees by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock 4 stars
Kinky holiday fun from one of my most favorite writing teams? Yes please! While gingerbread men may forever be ruined for me, I enjoyed this story of long time partners and doms Asa and Javier and Asa's young, seemingly innocent employee Drew, spending some quality time during Christmas getting to know each other better. Drew is fairly new to town and can't get home for Christmas. Asa has had the hots for his office's new employee and has shared this information with Asa. Since they are both dominant, they regularly will bring in a third who is willing to submit to them. Young Drew has been harboring his own crush on Asa and is a bit less vanilla then Asa had thought. Beneath the creative kinky fuckery, was some actual story and my heart actually hurt for Drew at the end of their first night together. It had a believable ending, and I would love to see more of these three actually trying to make a go at a more permanent situation.
Shepherd, Wise Man and the Little Drummer Boy by E.F. Mulder 3 stars
Shep's long time friend Zeke is finally home and out after 10 years active military service and pays him a surprise visit for Thanksgiving. The two basically grew up together along with Zeke's best friend Dave, who grew up like a brother to Shep. When Zeke surprises Shep by revealing a romantic interest in him things get complicated. Not only do the two have history, but Shep is involved and living with his horribly boyfriend Harry. When Zeke and Shep go to visit Shep's father, the two men meet CJ, former military, he lost a leg and arm in the service and is currently fighting cancer. CJ is currently working through a bucket list and would like Zeke and Shep to help him with at least one item on it.
This had a more serious tone than the first story and while I liked the idea of the story and really liked CJ, I felt there was a bit too much going on for such a short format and things started and resolved too quickly. All the men had issues and there was not enough time to fully develop them or get me emotionally invested before something else popped up. I also had a bit of difficulty at times with the writing figuring out who was talking and what was going on when the three men were together.
~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~ Fall on Your Knees I loved this book and I think I even cried because I was so wanting Drew to be happy. Drew has the hots for his boss, but his boss is with someone. When Asa, Drew’s boss finds out his flight is cancelled due to weather he invites him to come home with him. What happens next is a wild ride. I wish the book was longer. I think it could have been spread out and dug in deeper but it was still really good and I ended up loving Javier at the end.
Shepherd, Wise Man and the Little Drummer Boy Shep and Zeke have been as close as brothers since they were little kids. Zeke went into the military and when he was back for good the first person he saw was Shep. Zeke has always wanted Shep and has to convince Shep he is the guy for him. Shep has a crappy boyfriend and eventually dumps him. You would think that they would have their happily ever after right? Not yet, they meet CJ and sparks go flying. It is obvious that there is an attraction all around but because of Shep’s ex making him have low self-esteem, Shep bows out and decides to let Zeke and CJ have a relationship……until the question of a triad relationship is brought up. Will it work???

Fall On Your Knees
Without reading any of these authors I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It is a naughty, darker, unexpected hot read. When Asa finds out the cutie at work he's been lusting over is left without a place to go at Christmas, he asks his partner Javier if he'd mind company. Asa and Javier play within the BDSM lifestyle, Drew wants to be in the lifestyle but has never had a partner to try it with. When Javier agrees Drew should spend Christmas with them it's the sexiest Christmas they've ever had.
Shepherd, Wise Man and the Little Drummer Boy
Even though this too is an holiday m/m story, it had such a different feel. It's sweet, loving, emotional. It's also sexy, hot, and has a high steam factor. It was written very well. Shepherd is in a somewhat verbally abusive relationship with Harry. When Zeke (his brother's best friend) comes home from Afghanistan for good, he makes his first stop to Shep. Shep finds out the Zeke is indeed gay and in love with him. After some pushing from his family Shep makes the decision to get rid of Harry. Could he love Zeke? What happens when someone enters the bond they already have?
It is always great finding new authors to add onto my list of 'to-read' I will definitely be looking for more titles from these authors!

This comprises two stories, both MMM, one an established couple joined by a third, and one a new relationship all round.
Fall on your Knees This was quite a dark read, both because there was a lot of pain dished out, but also because Drew was so much the third. There is light towards the end of the story, but it is definitely no more than an HFN.
Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy
I enjoyed this story, although the disfunctionality of the family did seem a little extreme. Overall it had some serious bits, some funny bits and some hot bits. It dealt quite well with the issues that any triad must surely face, and the leads communicated well.
Perhaps I went into this with too high expectations.
Overall, an enjoyable book.
The first story really appealed to me but it needed more time to percolate. Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock do fantastic bdsm-themed stories but it's best when the story is given time to develop. This story just left me wanting more.
The second story was a good effort but didn't work for me. Too many things going on and it made everything confusing. Didn't really need to know about the first boyfriend. If the story had started after him, I think this might have been more palatable. Romance novels tend to follow a certain set of rules and yes, at times, it's formulaic. But it works because that is the whole appeal of romance. When an author tries to go against the standard, it's a risky endeavour. Sometimes it works. In this case, it didn't.
First story: I am still mopping myself up. Whew, that was hot. Incredibly kinky, did I mention TONS of kink? And the dynamics/conflict of adding a third to an established relationship was interesting and mostly plausible. They're gonna date, or something. And it's gonna be hot as f***. Right. Can we have a sequel next Xmas?
Second story: Had to put this one down for a couple of days and come back to it. Very different stylistically from Henry/Rock's. Very good, but very different. Lots of dialogue that pushes the story along, not as many descriptors or narrative. Didn't get me hot and bothered but I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Was sorry it ended, would have liked to read more.
Yes to the first story...kind of...ehm...okay, it's not their best but uh...wait...what...I'm still a bit ...holy, did they really write this? XXX-rated fits. It lacks a bit in some parts and is kind of over the top kinky (but I think that was intented) but for a story that short it actually got emotions quite right. Funny is, despite we are in Drew's head a lot, I understood him the least.
To the second story...I DNF. Jumpy, undeveloped characters, cramped and is Shep really a guy? I feel kind of sad for Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock to have their story mixed with this one in a book and therefore getting low ratings for the whole book.
What a great little story! The authors touched on all the important bits, made the characters and the plot totally believable, and it was a real fast mover - well done.
This first book was a 4 Fall on your Knees by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock This is a story about two Dom’s and a sub that they try out for a night and decide to keep. Javier and Asa are in a long term committed relationship and over the years have invited a third to ‘play’. But when Asa decides that Drew, an employee that works for him, should be the next play thing they get more than either Javier or himself asked for. Drew has had a secret crush on Asa for a while so when he invites him over for Christmas dinner, how can he say no? But will Drew’s deep dark kinky fantasies be too much for the two Dom’s? So even though this story was a lot of kink, BDSM, it also had a storyline. Drew, not wanting to get in the middle of the loving relationship, so he’s keeping his true feelings bottled up. And Javier, a guy that never talks about his feelings now has to deal with them. And then we have Asa just trying to make the two men in his life see how wonderful this could be if they can stop, talk and listen. By the end of the story you really felt your heart strings tug for Drew and that you can feel the bond that Javier and Asa had. 3 for the second Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy by E.F. Mulder This one is about old friends meeting up and starting a relationship that they hope will last a life time. Over all this story has way too many characters, and really most of them seem pretty pointless and just muddle up the true story. Which I believe is about Shep, Zeke and C.J.? The friendship between those three is genuine and you can feel coming off the pages. They all have this sexual bond that they want to explore and because they are such good friends and love each other, aren’t inhibited by normal taboos. If we could have gotten rid of the other ‘fluff’ and just had a story about those three, reconnecting, falling in love. That would have been great. But that gets lost with everything else. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews
Rated: XXXmas is a holiday duology with stories by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock, and by E.F. Mulder. I was super excited to read this one as it features two menage, holiday-themed stories that looked to be sexy and fun. It also seemed like a great chance to read a story from two of my favorite authors, Henry and Rock, as well as to try a new-to-me author, Mulder.
When taken together, this book was enjoyable, but unfortunately I found a big disparity in my feelings toward the stories. While I totally loved Henry and Rock’s story, I didn’t like Mulder’s as much, for reasons I’ll note below. I was also somewhat surprised at the big difference in tone between the two stories. For a two-story set, I was expecting them to mesh a little better. While they share the theme of holiday menage, the tone of the two stories is quite different, which was a little bit jarring. All that said, I more than loved Henry and Rock’s story, and I think Rated: XXXmas is worth reading on the strength of that story alone.
Fall on your knees – 3 * Poor Drew has been lusting after his boss since he started this job. When a snowstorm leaves him unable to go home for the holidays, Asa, Drew's boss invites him over the for holidays. Asa and his partner, Javier. Both Asa and Javier are Doms who sometimes add a third to third to their games. There is serious kink to their play and Drew struggles to understand what he is feeling, but he is not sure he wants it to end. The story takes place over a few days, so is not too in depth, but still a fun read. Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock have a unique talent for writing kink.
Shepard, Wise Man and Little Drummer Boy - 2* For such a short book there were a lot of characters, very little time with just the two main characters, and skimming over some serious issues that should have had more attention or just left out altogether. Dad leaving Mom for someone the age of the kids, a cheating boyfriend, cancer, a strange scene with four men in a room masturbating – all skimmed over.
OK so the first book 'Fall on your knees' was a pretty fun Christmas Story, very different to any I've ever read because it was so deliciously dirty! My goodness they incorporate a lot of different kinks into this short story. The sex was hot and... imaginative. There is something I want to mention and I'm still struggling to work out whether it's a good or bad thing. The doms made a few mistakes with their sub which out everyone on edge, which is realistic when your playing with someone you don't know for the first time I guess. And Drew didn't ever go into 'subspace', he kept worrying about how to act and how much everything hurt, which again could be realistic, but maybe less enjoyable.
I didn't read the second book. I started to but the writing style was a bit off for me and I wanted to read another book so honestly didn't give it much of a chance.
I finished the first story. It was probably 3* if I'm being generous. It just fell flat for me; and I didn't particularly like any of the characters. Everything leading up to the establishment of their "relationship" (such as it is) was really messy and haphazard and nothing about the characters seemed to work or click. Asa and Javier seemed like assholes to me; and Drew so desperate to be included that he went along with it.
I couldn't finish the second story. It was kind of a hot mess. Awkward points of dialogue, that was sometimes hard to follow; it wasn't always obvious who was even speaking. Narrative that was primarily telling - and sometimes just vague. And the pacing was much too fast. I felt like I was reading on fast forward.
Very much enjoyed the first story overall. Solid, sweet read. Loved all the characters, how they balanced each other, their fears and awkwardness and that you could see they would smooth out in the long run and be just lovely. This story was fantastic.
I tried to like the second, but just couldn't. All of the characters sounded the same. They spoke the same, acted the same, I could not keep Zeke and Shep straight to save my life. The dialogue seemed jarring, or something, and the story just dragged on. And I didn't get the inclusion of the cancer except as a handy excuse for additional angst that the story didn't need.
2stars: The 1st story is PWP and lacks sensuality, nuance, warmth, grace, development, connectivity, characterisations and substance, even for PWP. The kink did nothing for me. Didn't move me. Their writing always seems like...writing. It doesn't come off the page for me. There's never any feeling. An everything but the kitchen sink kink story that was overwrought, blah, and unmoving, ultimately.
1star: The 2nd story is a DNF that's really roughly written.
This is a split rating for me -- Fall on Your Knees by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock was a solid 5 stars, plus extra points for being HELLA kinky! But Shepherd, Wise Man, and the Little Drummer Boy was just a 3 star. I had a difficult time getting into it, and even in the sex scenes I had difficulty keeping track of which one was doing what to whom. It wasn't bad, it just didn't live up the the writing and action of the first story.
