Barton Smock never fails to impress with his command of language--even the breaking apart of syntax and the verses with what seem to be lacunae in them. It's as if the poems themselves express an agony that we can only understand in these brief works.

I have to say that "Misreckon is one of the best books with poems I have ever read. I read some of the poems so many times because I enjoyed the unique writing.

I received a free copy of this book from the GoodReads First Reads giveaways in exchange for an hones review. Interesting but a bit odd collection of poetry. I'm not sure I really understood a lot of it.
