This book I picked up today from my local second hand store.

I like the back of this hardcover, that must be intended for secondary education. It reads...

Using this book will not only help you succeed as a writer, but will also help you fulfill your potential in all academic, workplace, and public settings.

Sign me up. I needed help with this weeks UBC's writing homework assignment.

Thick and full of visuals, I think this book can deliver on it's promises.

I’m a Filipino, who is now studying as a teacher major in English. I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people to have this book. I remember a friend, Marry Rinnert from Arkansas, a corps volunteer gave it to me back when I was in elementary on my birthday.
She asked me what kind of gift would I be pleased to have and I said a book in English, because I want to be a great writer someday. Fortunately she gave two of it this one and the other one (The Little Brown Handbook-6th edition, “includes 1995 MLA Guidelines)
Well, the book is so great. It has a clear and elaborate explanation with exercises after the topic. It’s like a dictionary of a writer and student trying to be a great writer like me.

Nearly indispensable when citing sources, creating an annotated bibliography, formatting a paper, or a myriad of other tasks associated with writing papers or other forms of media. I, for one, am lost without it.

Every writer should have a copy of this book handy --as it includes topics on basic grammar (the stuff we all forget) and it shares formats on how to organize the information into papers.

similar to The Bedford Handbook, very philistine, worthy of class time only to beat it up.
