He’s not on the agenda, but he’s exactly what she needs…Soleil Stancliffe—vlogger, celebrity stylist, and globe-trotting darling—thinks she’s seen it all, but when she lands on Nevis for its annual Culturama festival, she finds out just how little she knows. As the lush, sun-drenched island’s new Tourism Ambassador, she’s working around the clock creating content and exploring the island her grandfather once called home—that is until a chance encounter with local artist Vincent Garvey throws her carefully curated schedule out the window, and sets her on island time.
His smile is as electrifying as his touch, and between rainforest hikes and moonlit dances, Vincent shows her just why Nevis is called ‘Queen of the Caribees’, and how to move with the island’s rhythm. But after the Last Lap––after the masqueraders and moko jumbie have hung up their costumes, and the two-week Culturama festival comes to a close, will Soleil be able to walk away from the man who rocked her steady, or has her heart found its new home in Nevis?

This was a nice read, however it took me a while to get into the storyline and it really didn't hold my attention the way some of her other books. The chemistry between main characters are undeniable.

I loved the descriptions of Nevis; the culture, the people, the food, the music, and the whole vibe. It made me feel like I was right there on the island with Soleil and Zuri.
It took me a while to get into the story. Soleil started out having everything going for her. The only background information I had was that she started out filming videos in her room with 10 subscribers and that started a journey that took her around the world. Ten years later she was this huge success. Even as I cheered the fact that this story was going to be about a successful woman, I didn't feel a connection with Soleil. After finishing the book, I am still not sure why.
I was hyped that she and Atlas had that instant connection. The heat, the tension between them was obvious. I knew I would feel some type of connection. I didn't. Yet, Atlas, Zuri, and even Auntie Millie made me feel something. I felt like Soleil's journey was not about connecting with her grandfather or his homeland. Maybe I'm looking at this too deeply.
The story was enjoyable. I think it would have been more enjoyable had I been able to feel something about Soleil or between Soleil and Atlas. I recommend you read this book and form your own opinion. I did feel like I had spent time in the islands while reading it.

This was a well-written story, rich with Nevis culture and lots of sparks from Soleil and Atlas. Soleil got a chance to slow down and enjoy a different way of living and Atlas was thrilled to be her tour guide. This couple had a surprise in store which only solidifies how small the world really is. We are reminded to grab ahold of love when it presents itself. Beautifully done!.

Rock Steady With Me is like a perfectly aged rum punch: sweet, potent, and utterly transporting. This beautiful multicultural romance by Ana E Ross whisks you away to the "Queen of the Caribbees"—Nevis—where a tropical tryst quickly turns into a solid, enduring love. It's the ideal read when you need an escape that offers both high emotion and a vibrant, detailed setting.
The story wastes no time in establishing the irresistible pull between the hero and heroine, building on the classic vacation romance trope and giving it real emotional depth. What starts as a temporary getaway fling quickly runs headfirst into "forever." The author does a a phenomenal job of integrating the island's culture and sights—from Jessups Village to Tamarind Bay—making the environment a character itself.
What I Sipped & Savored
🥃 The Setting Immersion: The book isn't just set in Nevis; it lives there. The chapter titles, like "Queen of the Caribbees" and "Afternoon Delight," promise a rich, sensual experience that the story fully delivers.
🥃 The Instant Connection: The central romance is a delightful blend of instant, steamy chemistry and a surprisingly mature foundation. It’s a wonderful execution of the instalove trope, built on mutual respect and attraction.
🥃 The Writing Style: Ana E Ross writes sophisticated, steamy romance. The descriptions are vivid, the dialogue is engaging, and the emotional payoff of the HEA is deeply satisfying.
What Made Me Side-Eye My Glass
🥃 The Pace: While the pace is intentional for an instalove setup, the transition from "tropical tryst" to "rock steady" felt slightly too accelerated at times. I could have lingered longer in the middle stages of their relationship development.
🥃 Character Conflict: The central conflict sometimes felt too external, and I'd have loved a bit more internal push-and-pull between the main characters to deepen the drama.
Final Pour
Rock Steady With Me earns a 3.75 out of 5 stars. It’s a beautifully written, steamy escape that promises a captivating love story and a trip to paradise. While the connection moves quickly, the vivid setting and passionate connection make this a highly enjoyable and satisfying read. It’s perfect for readers looking for a sophisticated multicultural romance.
Pairs well with: A cool glass of ginger beer or a strong, authentic rum, and readers who love travel, strong heroes, and a romance that moves with heat and heart.
