Jen Meyers grew up in Vermont, spent three years in Germany when she was a kid, and now lives in central New York. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s chasing after her four kids, playing outside, relishing the few quiet moments she gets with her husband, and forgetting to make dinner.
She is the author of the highly-rated Intangible series, a young adult contemporary fantasy, and numerous contemporary romance novels.
I wasn’t suppose to be reading this one when I first picked it up, truly I had about 10 books that needed to be read before this one but, curiosity got the best of me and I decided to peak inside and see what it was all about.
Big mistake!
That one peak ended up being a sit down read straight through and forget about everything else kind of “peak”. I was lured right in by the raw gritty beauty of the story.
I like darker gritty stories but I will be honest, I am not a huge fan of books that have tons of profanity in them, drug use and alcohol use not to mention, umm, body use? LOL, either way, it just doesn’t usually appeal to me. I can handle bits of it like any other good reader but usually I am totally turned off by it when it is over done and used but somehow, it just worked in this story.
I think it is one of those where it was needed for you to really feel the emotion of the story. To really get the full picture so to speak. Plus, okay, I really liked Dare. How could a girl not love a struggling bad boy artist?
Dare and Reagan's journey was a tough one. Full of ups and downs, angst, right and wrongs. Danger, passion, you name it, it probably has it in here but again, it worked for the storyline and most of all, worked for the characters.
This was a beautifully tragic tale. So much heartache but so much growth too. One that started out rough and was never easy but I loved them for it because with each new trial, they both grew stronger, better and their story truly was a wonderful one.
Characters I already loved, I loved more (I am talking about your Arch and Rex!), characters I loathed, you guessed it, I loathed even more. I couldn't help but get wrapped up in the whole thing. I am so glad I had all the serials because with the ending of part four, I just might have gone crazy.
These two authors really did create something magical. There is always something to be said about two people who have issues that can come together and be better. Two halves that truly make a whole and truly become complete.
I received a copy of this book for free through NetGalley
Thank you so much to Turning Leaves Press for letting me review this and a huge thanks for releasing it as an omnibus as it made reading Ree & Dare's story all the more better.
Speaking of, where can I get me a man as sexy, thoughtful, smart, feisty and talented as Dare?
If you like a contemporary read that has wit, thrilling drama, sex, passion and actually feels like it is set in a real world (not a love bubble), pick this one up!
This pulled me out of a massive reading slump and I am so glad I gave it a chance. Ree & Dare are obvious soulmates from the beginning and their charming wit made me fall in love with them over and over again. I really like that while they have grown up in different worlds, their life journeys mirror each other in a number of ways - aka they both suffer from shitty parents syndrome.
There is so much art in this book and their story is layered in so many beautiful colours. They experience their fair share of tragedy and heartbreak throughout the entire series but are helped through by a collection of wonderful supporting characters and their love for each other.
I have individually reviewed all five of these books and can honestly say they are some of my favourite books of the year. Below are all five reviews in one place - Book 1: Five Parts I hear you cry – well dry your eyes because this series is going to worth the effort if this part one is anything at all to go by – it is brilliant!!! Reagan and Dare are poles apart but this is far from your typical fodder. These guys have something as a reader you can’t quite put your finger on but it will have you rooting for the pair of them through all the grief and heartache they go through. Life hasn’t been fair to either of them but in very different ways. Reagan comes from money and priviledge but with that come expectation and responsibility and neither of those are of the type that she wishes to follow. Destined to do as she is told and follow the path that is predetermined by her family , she looks for something of her own- something that her family cannot sully with their perverted expectations, and for a moment it appears that she has found that when she meets Dare Wilde. Dare is from the opposite end of the spectrum but he is no knight in shining armour he is the good guy just trying to do his best for his family. Dare’s life revolves around providing for his drug addled mother and his two younger siblings and keeping them safe from their deviant, felonious father but his passion is Art and he is good! Reagan’s escape is Art and it too is something she has an eye for. But her indulgence is strictly against her parent doctorate but it is through this that she eventually meets Dare. The relationship between them begins unconventionally but it is beautiful and intense as it develops but you just know that there is an undercurrent that pain just around the corner that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I tried everything, but in the end I knew that no matter how longer I kept my fingers crossed the ending was not going to be pretty or easy and boy was I right – it will tear your heart out!!! There are a few other characters that will play their part in the remainder of the series – Archer for one – the husband elect if Reagan’s parents get their way. Dare’s younger siblings – have show stealers written all over them and I hope we get to hear their stories at some point. Reagan’s Family – not only her Mother and Father but her siblings are absolutely abhorrent and I know that they are going to be the bane of both Reagan and Dare’s existence but I hope that they get their comeuppance. I have my fingers crossed anyway. Overall this is an amazing start to what I am certain is a series that will not only break my heart at points but will have me crying big fat happy tears – the latter being more preferable. Book 2: Three Years have passed since the heartbreak at the end of the first instalment – Untamed. Three Years that despite trying – Reagan has had no contact with Dare. Three Years that she has missed him, every single day. But with this instalment, will her pain come to an end??? We find Reagan, stepping out on her own – trying desperately to forge a life for herself – having escaped, albeit secretly the clutches of her family to take up a position at a Gallery in Paris – searching out new talent amongst the multitude of unfound souls on the Seine. Unbeknown to Reagan, Dare is also in Paris, having relocated there to further develop his art and to try and secure his future. When Reagan sees him again it is both unexpected and painful, because Dare has moved on and while Reagan wants to make things right – he is not ready to let her back into his life. The pain that they inflict on each other is positively tangible, neither willing to give an inch but the feelings that they have are undeniable and we see them desperately trying to make what they have work. The story has an evolutionary pace about it – it flows much like you would expect a relationship to meander – to that effect the book is completely believable and for me its strongest asset. That is not to say that I don’t have a connection with the characters because believe me I do – I adore Dare – he is a real gem – a good guy trying to do the right thing and trying to protect his heart and as for Reagan well I whooped when I read she had managed to get away from her family -she has balls of steel but I know in my heart with her family, that she is going to need them! The relationship between these two is so powerful it is verging on obsessive and they both love and hate each other to some extent but underneath it all is a passion that is all consuming and amazing! Both authors have perfected the art of give just enough of hint of impending doom, that it sets your heart racing, just when you think that they have it worked out, a word or two raises that fear factor and you dread turning the next page. The ending broke my heart it was manipulative and cruel and left me screaming with rage – I won’t spoil it but OMG if it is possible to convey hate across the page then I now know that I hate her family and what on earth is Archer playing at!!!!! Part 3 can’t come soon enough – I NEED them to have a happy ending – my soul will be bereft if they don’t resolve the issues surrounding them. This is angst filled romance of the highest order, writing that is of the highest calibre and a story that is as captivating as it is heart-breaking. Book 3: Well, I have been hooked on this series since practically the first page of book one and with my fingers crossed I am going to tempt fate and say that they just keep getting better and better! We are again, blessed with an extra-ordinary quality of writing by both authors – the storytelling is of the highest order. The characterization is simple but effective – just enough on the line to make you want to root for both Dare and Ree. And boy do these pair need everyone to root for them – life has played them some tough hands but what they have between them is elemental – there connection is as deep as two people can get and there is no doubt in my mind that - they belong together! The end of book two saw the pair parted yet again but while Dare may have left Paris, Ree had every intension of finding and fighting for her man. When Dalia lets it be known that Dare has joined Dash in Amsterdam – Ree is Holland bound and pounding the streets in the hope that she can track him down. The lengths this woman is willing to go to is astonishing. Fruitless optimism beginnings to give way to the harsh reality that this time, he may just elude her – but with a scrap of paper that has her coveted Phoenix drawing in her hand she decides to take strength from the fact that if she has his drawing tattooed on her – she will always have him with her. So her search for a tattoo studio becomes her primary focus. Dare is broken and trying to put himself back together with the help of his brother Dash ( what is it with their Mum and names beginning with D ?) and the rest of his Band- No Man’s land – and there are a host of characters in that scenario that require a hell of a lot more page time!! Synner is a charm – I loved him – man-whore of the highest order but he has a soft side lurking under all that testosterone and I can’t wait to get some more of his story. But fate waves her magic wand and of all the shops she could walk into – Ree, finds him, just when she thought she might have to give up – but he doesn’t want her. Devastated she drowns her sorrows – only to meet the inimitable Synner. But in true gentlemanly fashion – Synner takes care of her, taking her back to his place when she is too drunk to go home alone and too drunk to tell him where she stays. Not taking advantage and spends the night on the sofa, he tucks Ree up in his bed. Well you can imagine the scene that is presented in the morning when Ree wakes and has to leave – getting out without seeing Dare – not a hope in Hell and the punch up that ensues is beyond painful for her. Dash explains what happened and Dare finally sees sense. He has a chance to try again but will he take it? Can Ree take the steps that Dare needs from her in order for them to be together? In this book, we get to hear from Dare, as much of the story is told from his point of view – and he is worth listening too – I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his museings . He is a tortured old soul all wrapped in up in a gorgeous young body – he is such a passionate guy, who loves fiercely and is passionately loyal to his friend and family. Speaking of his family – Dash is definitely the go to guy in the band but he has a question mark hanging around him that I can’t wait to have explained – I think he will prove to be delicious!!! Dalia, is feisty having grown up with her very own three musketeers – Dash, Dare & Dex but stepping out into the big bad world under their watchful eyes is going to be interesting to say the least and she sets the sparks flying in Amsterdam!! And Dex – he is suck a cocky so-and so, he just makes me smile Life has plans for Dare and Ree, big plans I hope but powerful forces are always in the shadows. I only wish that is where they would stay! I would love to reach into the pages and pull out the evil but I suppose nothing worth having comes easy! The whole story is incredible and just when I thought I could take a deep breath and uncross my fingers for Dare and Ree – the ending unfolded and I was left hanging by my fingertips for the next instalment. A fabulous addition to this a brilliant series Book 4: One word – Wow! Picking up with Ree, exactly where we left her at the end of Escaped Artist- Wild at Heart is the fabulous continuation of this modern day Romeo and Juliet. Forces too large to contemplate have been at work since the very beginning, desperately trying to keep Ree and Dare apart but when your heart belongs to someone – neither hell nor high water will make you step aside and in this book, we see Ree, step up to the plate and fight for her man. You go girl! The ever obstinate Dare is determined to fight the cause alone determined that his way is the only way to keep those he loves safe from his father. But has he underestimated the situation? You will have to read to find out but I will say, as much as I love Dare (he is a joy to read) he commits a cardinal sin, he underestimates just one thing – just how far a woman will go to protect the man she loves – nothing will stop Ree, not even Dare himself. Ree truly comes into her own in this book, she shows just how much she has changed and just what the money her father has spent on her education can achieve – he might wish that he had saved the cash! Willing and able to face her demons she leaves nothing on the table when it comes to dealing with him! Dare’s siblings make an appearance during the early chapters as does Archer (I thought we had seen the last of him after Paris, but in this we get to see a little of the real Archer) and also at the forefront is the illusive Rex – Dare is truly like a son to him but I am happy to say that the majority of this book is committed to the two people who deserve it most – Dare and Ree. The love that emanates from the page to convey the devotion between the two of them is immense – they are truly “Two Halves- One Whole”. This book carried more intrigue that the last, the air of menace that surround Dare’s father is tangible and the inference of his capabilities are quite simply staggering. His evil knows no limits. But Ree’s father as malicious as he has been previously gets a dose of his own medicine – and I can’t but help thinking that he is about to experience a little of Dare’s pain, so will he cope when he is forced to reap what he has sown? Book 5 can’t come soon enough Yet again, I have been blown away but this series – I love Dare and Ree and have everything crossed that their HEA will be as beautiful as I imagine. I also have everything crossed that both Jinsey and Victoria will carry on with the Wilde family – I would love to have a little more Dax and Dalia and a lot more Dash! Book 5: Well, they say all good things come to an end and in this we reach the end of the road with Ree and Dare. I’m Gutted!!! Rebel Roused is a fitting end to what has been an enthralling series – it takes you through an entire rainbow of emotions but ultimately delivers the finale that Ree and Dare deserve. I have no desire to give away any spoilers, having invested your time into reading the last 4 books you deserve to experience this for yourself. But what I will say is that as an avid reader, this series has had my imagination hooked since I read the first page of the very first book. It evoked an image in my head of what I thought Dare and Ree looked like, and with ever instalment I have felt like I have been meeting up with old friends! In this book, you will run the gamut of emotions, secrets are told and loyalties begin to shift. Greed and status mean nothing to some and yet mean everything to others but most of all, what you thought you knew will be blown away. The strength of the love they have for each other is tested, and the power that others have over them is flexed but this is the book where their world finally gets to see that they really are “Two Halves, One Whole” Jinsey and Victoria – Thank You – the tale has been told not only with eloquence but with attitude – I adore Dare and Ree in equal measure and I have a little bit of a hankering that I would love to hear more from the rest of Wilde Family – Dash (his mysterious woman) and his band “No Man’s Land” and the twins Dalia and Dax – pretty please ladies!!!
Oh thank heavens. I have been waiting for a complete series release! The Untamed series is excellent. Phenomenal. In fact, if I had to barter organs to get the next installment, I'd probably do so with no regrets. Let me tell you a little bit about all the feels I have for this series.
Book 1: Untamed
Untamed is a sexy, smart read that will make you laugh, blush, and desperately want more.
Hands down, Untamed is the best novella I have ever read. The pacing was excellent, the dialogue was smart and witty, and Dare Wilde melted my panties off within five seconds of meeting him.
The characters are multi-dimensional and yes, though it is a romance, it’s so much more than that. It’s not like the normal romance novels I’ve read where I want to gouge my eyes out halfway through. There is no stupid dialogue. It is not unrealistic. It is quality all the way around.
I love that the main character is rich, but not satisfied. I loved that Dare was in control but not creepy controlling (like SO many other romance novels out there). I loved their dynamic, especially contrasted with their families. In fact, the Wilde household reminded me a little of my family, with the teasing and bickering. It’s exceptionally well-written. I can’t express that enough.
I love that Jinsey and Victoria put a lot of thought into the themes of this novella, as I loved the arty themes floating through this book and the foreshadowing pieces they expertly placed throughout the pages. I love that these characters don’t settle. I love that they are flawed.
The authors, Jinsey Reese and Victoria Green have stated that this episodic series should be like an episode of a television show, giving you a snippet into the world of the Wildes, while leading you towards a bigger story line. Though it was book one, I felt like someone who’d just watching a HUGE season finale of her favorite show. I groveled and complained for days to anyone that would listen about how I needed more. NOW. (In fact, I still need more so ladies, can you please indulge me? )
As for the romance scenes, they are HOT! I recommend reading this with a strawberry milkshake, so you know, you can cool down afterwards. I love how they mixed some of their racy scenes, with some fades to black, etc. It kept it interesting and fresh.
The bad: I do have one complaint and it is this: I WANT ALL THE NOVELLAS NOW. The fact that I can’t have them all right this second is killing me. I loved this novella. I must know what happens. If they published the next five for $500 bucks a pop, I would pay that. Actually, I’d pay more. No joke.
Hats off to Jinsey and Victoria for blowing their first novella in the Wilde Brothers series completely out of the water. Congratulations to them for raising the bar in romance, dialogue, setting, plot, and writing in general. And HUGE thank you for writing such an edgy, entertaining, sexy, and well-rounded series. You did it ladies. I’m hooked!
Don’t mind me. I’ll be over here, pacing around for book two.
Book Two: Out of Control
Yep, Jinsey and Victoria have done it again—ruined my life with this new installment of OUT OF CONTROL. How, you ask? Besides playing with my emotions and leaving me wanting more of Dare, I was so completely obsessed with this that I didn’t want to do anything but read.
Dinner? It could wait.
Work? What work?
Shower? I could handle being smelly.
I literally didn’t want to do ANYTHING but read this delectable installment #2 in the Untamed series.
I swear to God, they are writing geniuses and a perfectly formed writing team.
This story tears at heartstrings. When Dare smiled, I was smiling. When Ree cried, I found my lower lip trembling. When Dare stood up for Ree, I found myself cheering out loud and fist bumping the bewildered people around me. Damn you Jinsey and Victoria for giving me ALL the feels.
At one point, the main character admires Dare’s artwork. She praises him for being able to create art that she can almost hear, taste, smell, and touch. So now it’s my turn to applaud Jinsey and Victoria. Thank you for creating such artistic mastery that the words swirl alive off of the page and dance along my senses and my heart. I have, once again, fallen completely in love with Dare and the bond that Dare and Ree have. I’m just a girl, standing here with a novel, asking the two main characters to fall in love.
OUT OF CONTROL is the 2nd novel in the Untamed series and it might just be my favorite yet. Well, I don’t know, the original image of Dare sitting on his motorcycle is also pretty hard to shake but…either way, Jinsey and Victoria have outdone themselves again.
OUT OF CONTROL is perfect for fans of Gossip Girl, Sex in the City, Nicholas Sparks, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and even Sons of Anarchy. It may seem like an odd combination, but there always seems to be the perfect mixture of emotions, love, romance, secrets, and general badassery that if my mind wasn’t already blown by the first installment, it would be blown right now.
If you do not read this series you are doing a disservice to yourself, your country, and frankly the entire galaxy.
I’d like to give OUT OF CONTROL a rating of a million perfectly toned Dare abs, but five stars will have to do.
Book 3: Escaped Artist
Well, I hope you haven’t eaten because you will be HUNGRY for more the second you finish this installment of the Untamed series, ESCAPED ARTIST (#3).
Where do I even begin?
I guess first off, this “episode” was nothing that I had expected and let me tell you…that is amazing! I feel like there’s SO many books out there that I read and can usually call the ending within the first couple of chapters. But this series, oh my god, just keeps me on my toes. I’m constantly wondering what the hell will happen next. I’m wondering how they could possibly rip my heart out again and then sew it back together with perfection. I’m wondering just how in the world Jinsey and Victoria will raise the stakes even HIGHER than before. And with each installment I’m discovering that there is no way of guessing what will happen—these ladies have their plot and story woven so tightly and intricately together that there’s no seeing the end until…well… the end.
I really loved the alternating perspectives in ESCAPED ARTIST. I had been thinking while I read the first two installments, that I would really love some type of novella told from Dare’s perfective. And boom. My wish was their command (yes, I’m believing that I wished this to happen – do not ruin this for me). Dare is such an important part of the story, it would have been a shame to never hear his thoughts, and I loved every naughty, delicious, and witty moment in his brain.
Another thing I loved about this installment kind of paired back to UNTAMED. We got to see more of the Wildes this installment and honestly I couldn’t get enough. I love each personality so much and I’ve grown to love them (even in this short time) almost like members of my own family. I mean let’s be honest, who hasn’t wrestled with their siblings over settling a score? Who doesn’t have that family member that won’t stop trying to smooth talk the ladies that he can’t have (and just fails miserably). The most difficult thing to take in was the possibility that I may love one of the Wildes even more than Dare (WHAT?! I KNOW.) I really love Dax. But I also love Dalia. And Dash, love him too. I also loved Synner, unexpectedly. Maybe it’s the accent. Regardless, it was SO much fun to not only read that family dynamic, but to meet more flawed characters intimately that I already love.
Basically, READ THESE BOOKS. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
Freakin amazing!! It was definitely an emotional journey and I am really glad I tore through these books in less than two days!! The writing is amazing and I have never read a loved story that felt so real or experienced a love story that had such a hard time having a happy ending!! But never fear there IS a happy ending!
Please read Dare and Rees books... You will not be disappointed!
Finished all five of these in this series, and I really liked it. I'm looking forward to the next "Wilde" brother and his own series. I lucked out and got the whole five books for $.99. #1 Untamed #2 Out Of Control #3 Escaped Artist #4 Wild At Heart #5 Rebel Roused. It held might interest from the beginning until the end, great characters, good story.
So, I read the entire series, absolutely could not put it down and read everything, OMG, loved all the characters and all the quirks. Fell in love with the lovable ones and hated the characters that drove the main characters to their breaking point. Well designed and made and loved every part about it
Untamed Review: I personally liked Untamed. It's fast paced and easy to read. Reagan has a lot of issues stemming from her past. Her family is awful and thinks she should just get over it. I'm pretty sure I know what happened. I won't say because I don't want to spoil it. I found myself rooting for Reagan. I liked Dare he is a bad boy, protective and loyal. I loved his relationship with his family, I could feel his love for them. I got steam and suspense.
Out of Control Review: I personally loved this story. I loved the fact that Ree is trying to break away from her crazy family. A chance meeting turns two worlds upside down. Ree is smart, loyal and doesn't give up on Dare. Dare is frustrating, loyal and doesn't give up on Ree.
Escaped Artist Review: Ree's family keeps throwing wrenches into her life. She also needs to deal with her past that her family refuses to acknowledge. I can't wait till she flips then off. Dare keeps fighting his past. These two will not be happy till they deal with everything head on. I was given page turning angst, suspense and stream.
Wild at Heart Review: Wild at Heart is full of suspense, action and sadness. Ree's parents have a lot to be desired. Dare's father has a lot to be desired. We finally get the full story on Ree, it's no wonder she is an addict. I love the fact she finally confronts them. Wild at Heart ends in a cliffhanger.
Rebel Roused Review: In my opinion Rebel Roused is the best of the Untamed Series. Rebel Roused is full of pain in more ways than one. Dare has to deal with his worst nightmare and deal with his past. This book is full of action, suspense and pain. Ree has to deal with her new present. Dare and Ree finally deal with things together and clears up any misunderstanding. In my opinion the epilogue is the best part of the story.
I personally loved this box set. The last two books made it worth it. I got suspense, family drama, love and loyalty.
Wow! I loved this series! I am so glad I had the complete set to read one after the other as I don’t think I could of waited for the next book to be released without bursting. I just had to start the next book straight away and read the whole series in three days!! So this is going to be a little tricky to review. I don’t want to give a review to each of the five books as I will give too much away about the storyline! I will just say it is definitely a series I will re-read again. I am able to write what I thought on the series as a whole though as it was consistent throughout. Throughout the five books we follow the lives of Reagan Mckinley and Daren Wilde. From the moment they meet Dare and Ree have obvious chemistry. This is quite surreal to Ree as after an incident in her past she is a “use them and leave them” kind of girl. She doesn’t believe in love and relationships. Ree and Dare are from totally different worlds but yet have so much in common. Their love of art and crappy parents. Turmoil throughout their lives that both comes between them at times but also brings them closer together. Ree comes from a privileged background. From a rich family but not necessarily a happy one. Her parents expectations and what others thought of them came before their child being happy and feeling loved. Making a show of a happy family for others while being far from it. Ree always felt like the black sheep of the family. Not wanting the same things. Not bothered about money and the show. And battling with a secret that her parents buried. A secret that still haunts her years later. Dare is not from a background of money. Art is his life. He lives and breathes it. He is all about protecting those he loves no matter the cost or hurt it causes him. With a murderer father that hates him, and a druggie mother who can’t say no to said father, it’s down to Dare to protect his siblings, even if it means beatings and ending up in hospital time and again. Both Ree’s and Dare’s lives collide because of their pasts, but is their love for each other enough to get them both through it all? Together? Throughout the five books, Ree and Dare are tested to their limits. They are put through and have to deal with so much. Their story contains so much. Angst, heartache, Controlling parents, murderers, addiction, insecurity, creativity, intense desire, love and so much more! Their ups and downs keep you on the edge of your seat chewing on your nails, wondering if they can make it through the next thing thrown at them and come out on the other side still together. I was filled with hope for Dare and Ree throughout the whole series. They definitely have it rough. As the book progresses, intensity grows in the storyline and in turn we see the growth of the characters too. This is a highly emotion filled series. The series is written with a mix of both the male and female point of view. It is fast paced and you are so pulled in to the storyline that you soon breeze through it. Five books may seem like a lot, but each book averages at just over 200 pages so the storyline is not drawn out. Jen and Victoria have collaborated very well together in writing this series. They have been descriptive in every way from a night out, to family drama, to the erotic scenes. They made it easy to picture the story in your head as it played out. I loved the beginning, middle and end to this series! When it came to an end, I was left with a Dare and Ree hole, I could of just kept reading more and more about them and didn’t instantly want to get started on a new book. I will definitely be looking in to the other books from both Jen Meyers and Victoria Green.
Reagan's journey through life is a difficult one. She feels trapped and suffocated by her family: the free spirit within her, buried so deep, but desperate to come out but keeping it suppressed only adds to her sadness. When she meets Dare, her spirit comes alive: for once she is living a life and enjoying it. Dare has such a caring, gentle persona and his family and background is that complete opposite to Reagan's. Dare's mums a drug addict but he's close to his siblings whereas: Reagan parents are rich upper class people who only socialise in their own circles and expect their children to do everything that needs to be done to help their family prosper. Ree and Dare are two broken people but together they couldn't be more complete. This book goes through lots of highs and lows. Ree's addiction to pills and her ability to overcome her drug addiction was inspiring. Fate keeps bringing Dare and Ree's together: despite circumstances breaking them apart. Ree's family is controlling and that creates so many problems between them. Ree has a terrible past but it takes Dare's love and his support for her to break free from the chains she feels shackled too. This story has it all: humour, steamy love scenes, sadness, death, violence but most importantly love. Dare and Ree's journey is an extraordinary one, maybe not the easiest, but one you fight the whole world for. Beautiful story - Dare is such a sweet guy trying to protect everyone with no regard for to his own safety. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book.
You've got your typical poor little rich girl who is being forced into being someone else by her parents so she numbs herself with drugs and alcohol. Later you find out it's even worse since she got raped at 15 but her parents didn't believe her and swept it under the rug. When she turned out to be pregnant, her parents drugged her and made her get an abortion. So she now goes partying all night long with drugs and booze and has sex with random strangers to forget. Until she meets Dare, whose father is a drug dealer in jail and whose mother is a drug addict barely able to take care of herself. They fall for each other, hard, but her family gets in the way. Basically, everytime they are happy, something happens to tear them apart. It was a little too much for me. I was never happy when they were happy cause I still had a lot of pages to go so I knew something would come along to tear them apart again. It was also a little unbelievable because of their very young age. One thing bothered me though: Dare is supposed to a struggling artist, barely making enough money to get by. Yet he is constantly flying from New York to Paris to Amsterdam and back, and even manages to fly his family out a few times as well. Also, his relationship with his older brother is never explained - are they half brothers (they only talk about them having the same father) or full brothers? Why doesn't the older, rich brother help out with the family then? That confused me a little (I'm guessing this will be cleared up in the other book about the oldest brother).
Reagan McKinley is from a wealthy, influential family that manipulates her for their own ends, controls her life, and has a future she doesn't want all mapped out. She's suffocating from the secrets and lies that are her life and relies on pills, booze and one-night-stands to numb her. One night at a club, she targets sexy as hell Dare Wilde as her next anesthetic, never suspecting it'll change everything. Dare is an artist who works as a house painter to pay the bills and help support his mother and siblings. His background is the polar opposite of Reagan's and there is no place for him in her world. Neither of them can deny their attraction and both pay the price. Powerful forces are out to destroy their relationship, regardless of collateral damage. The five books in this series cover the years Reagan and Dare struggle to survive their bond, travel from New York to Europe to escape each other and the fallout their being in each other's lives caused, and find the answers to the threats and their inability to resist each other. There are so many great characters in these books that it wouldn't surprise me to see them getting their own series...I'd love that. This is a great read and I was so into it that I couldn't put it down.
I can honestly say that reading the series was a joy. Each book was about another hurdle or obstacle that would get in the way of Ree and Dare's passionate and problematic relationship. Just like in real life, the story shows that relationships take work, trust and faith in what they have to actually work out in the end. Does Ree end up with Dare or does her family end up pushing them apart to where she ends up marrying Archer?
It is an easy read (read all 5 books in a day). Each book separately ends with a cliffhanger (except the last book obviously), so beware that if you are not willing to read the other books you won't know what happens but I will say that HEA ending is involved at the end of book 5.
Note: This book has mature content so is meant for mature audience over 18. Trigger points for readers: Book includes situations of abuse, rape, violence, drugs, and sexual situations.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, which contains all 5 of the books in the Untamed series. After the first few chapters, I was totally hooked. This series had me on the edge of my seat for the entire Wilde ride! It's steamy, funny, heartbreaking, and perfect. Full of suspense and passion. I loved Dare instantly. Ree, I wasn't sure of at first and pretty much hated at one point. But, her growth throughout this series is immense. I love her connection with Dare. It's truly beautiful. I was thrilled with the introduction of Dare's POV in book 3. I would have loved it in the first 2 books as well. The man's point of view is always my favorite. I adored every word of this series and I am desperately wishing for more books for the entire Wilde family. I mean, certainly there must be a book coming for Dash and his wren?!?! I will certainly be on the look out for more in the future. *I received a copy of this book to review from Net Galley
"Once upon a time, two broken people found healing in each other's arms and a home within their hearts. That's the real story; our happily ever after."
"Two parts of one whole"
I read the first book back in March or April of this year and loved it enough to want the rest of the series. It took me a while to get the rest, but it was worth it. I got the first book when it was free on Amazon and loved that it was different from the regular romances I now try to avoid like the plague.
Some points I would wish for more and other parts I felt were thrown in to drag it on a little more. I think there didn't need to be five books and what filled five could have been concluded in three. Other than the drag on, it was a great story. I actually saw some grammar errors, which I never find, but otherwise it was a nice read.
Where do I even start! This series was an UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING read! I read the whole series in 4dys. I couldn't put it down. There are so many emotions, but one that you can't get enough of! My favorite characters were Ree(Reagan), Dare, Dash, Rex, Archer, Pierce (: Karma was definitely served to those who deserved it! Every book left you a cliffhanger, but it just made me open the next that much sooner. I loved the meanings behind the Phoenix tattoo. I loved watching Real Ree begin to show. Her parents though need to be thrown in front of a bus. Everybody in this book surprised me. I can't wait to read Dash's story next!
Oh my word!!!!!!! This was the best series ive ever read!!!!! I could not get enough of it and i COULD NOT putbit down!!!! The heartache Dare and Ree went through killed me!!! I could not believe two people could take that much heartache and things going wrong, But the ending......... i was in tears!!! Everyone should really read this its Amazing full of love, heartache and a hell lot of drama!!!!! I TOTALLY loved it!!!!!
Thank you so much Victoria Green and Jinsey Reese for writing this OUTSTANDING series, cant wait for Unbound!!!!!
**I received a copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review**
Untamed, the complete series by Jen Meyers & Victoria Green
This series was caught me from the beginning, heart-warming story about love, no shortage in drama or angst, it won’t get boring! These books are very well written, and it’s good that this is the complete series so I jumped right to the next book. No need to wait as all books will end with a cliffhanger. Thanks to that This book includes abuse, rape, violence, drugs, and sexual situations.
When I first started this series, I was ABSOLUTELY hooked!!! I LOVED the story line!!!
I love how at the beginning that Ree saw a painting in Dare's apartment, and she doesn't know it yet but turns out that it's Dare's painting. She loves him even more because she finds out that they're both have a passion for art, and he's drawing a tribal ink "Phoenix" for her.
It's definitely a emotional roller coaster love story of ups and downs that consists of sex, drugs, and drama!!!
This is an honest review thanks to NetGalley. This was a very interesting read, I was pulled in from the first chapter and from every moment after that. The romance was epic but add to that all the difficulties with the families of the two main characters caused the excitement and intrigue of the book to rise with each new book. This was fabulous and I highly recommend it.
This is a great feel good love story that has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Dare and Ree. They are both hard headed and in love that trouble ONLY comes their way. The best part of everything is that they still come out on top and together.
BRILLIANT!!! After all the cliffy's and nerve wracking happenings they finally got there HEA - thank bloody god!!! What an amazing series I thoroughly enjoyed every one even if my nerves where shot to shot half the time !!!! An amazing 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read!!!
