'Combines the best of evidence-based therapies into one life-changing method' – Dr Tara Swart, Sunday Times bestselling author of The Signs and The Source

Is your mind working for you – or against you?

If you find yourself repeating the same patterns, facing the same obstacles and wondering why willpower alone never seems to be enough, the problem isn’t you. Every one of us lives with an extraordinary piece of the mind. Yet without ever being taught how to use it, we allow it to run our lives in ways that limit our potential rather than unlock it.

The good news is that change is possible, and it doesn’t have to take years. In Your Mind, Your Rules, globally renowned therapist Marisa Peer explains 16 powerful rules that transform your mind, so that it can work for you, not against you.

Based on her unique method – Rapid Transformational Therapy® – this clear, practical framework will show you how to focus on what you want, equip you with tools to change habits and allow you to harness your brain’s natural wiring to actualise your goals. Whether you’re frustrated by a stalled career, seeking better health or relationships, or simply know you’re on the wrong path, Your Mind, Your Rules will unlock the extraordinary potential of your mind without years in a therapist’s chair – and allow you to begin creating the life you truly want.

This felt like a reminder I didn’t know I needed. It’s honest, and empowering that I caught myself rethinking old patterns while reading. Very easy to read, but surprisingly impactful, definitely one I’ll come back to!

I like Marisa Peer, i read many of her books and watched many of her videos, tedtalk etc
I did enjoy the book and there are many useful tools but Marisa has a thing for being repetitive; this is why i give this book only three stars, if you read any of her books you’ll find that the teachings are the same, she says the same things again and again (this happens also in her videos). I do like the fact that by repeating the same concepts you understand them more but it’s also a waste of money for people that maybe want to learn something new, for example the book “tell yourself a better lie” is very similar. For me I didn’t mind buying it because i knew this, if this is the first Marisa Peer book that you read it’s perfect because it’s also practical.

Marisa has a way of explaining how your mind works that finally makes everything click. She breaks it all down so clearly that what once felt complicated suddenly feels completely manageable. More importantly, she gives you something real to work with rather than just think about.

What stuck with me most was realising willpower was never my problem. My mind has just been following a set of instructions I didn't know I'd given it, most of them from childhood. Once you see that, everything starts to make sense. The kind of book you end up buying for other people.

I am a fan of the author. The book I am Enough helped me a lot. I was excited to approach this new book expecting new insights, revelations, key learnings. I found most of the sharings here (probably around 90%) are recycled from I am Enough book. Marisa shared more client stories, but the key learnings are the same. She even used same client stories she used in the previous book. It's a good book especially if you haven't read I am Enough. For me it's just way too repetitive.

The kind of book that makes you realise you've been going about something completely the wrong way without even knowing it. Our life is driven by subconscious patterns, and there is nobody better at bringing them to light so you can identify them and change your thinking. Would strongly recommend if you ever feel stuck in a certain way of thinking and want to get better.

Book number 8 ✔️ Feel like I've learnt a lot about mindset and how the mind works in the past couple of years that I feel the things in this book weren't things I didn't already know but still a very good book and a bit of a refresher. A nice easy read too.
