Devon Winger, a down-on-his-luck showrunner, arrives in Cat's Paw Cove to convince the eccentric elderly Internet stars to take the show to the next level -- a ShowFlix series. The magical stars are tickled at the idea, but Karmen is dead set against revealing the sanctuary for supernaturals to the world.

Stirring up a Recipe . . .

Karmen Artos, a sous chef at Feline Fine Retirement Home for supernaturals, is shocked that two of the residents have actually taken over the kitchen to provide a cooking show people are clamoring to watch! They already had four million views and still rising! They call it 'Grandma's Witchin' Kitchen!' In the meantime, Devon Winger had been tricked by a "friend" into renting what turned out to be a horrible, junky flat where the rent kept rising to pay off Skeezy's grandfather's gambling debts. Eventually, the rent got so high that even Devon was struggling to pay, and he got behind on the payments. He desperately needs to come up with an idea for a new series for ShowFlix to replenish his funds. He found Grandma Redbird and her co-star Madame Jinniyah's show and saw the number of viewers they had gained, so he heads for Cat's Paw Cove in the hope of signing the older ladies up with ShowFlix. Karmen, however, needs to stop all of this before they reveal the magical sanctuary to regular humans. Can she change Devon's mind about going ahead with his project? Will he discover their secret? Or could Devon actually choose to stay in town and make a life with Karmen?

If you like cozy stories, talking cats, and Greek Mythology then I think you would like this series. This book says it is #24 in the Cat’s Paw Cove series. I have not read any of the other books in the series but a blurb by the author indicates that while many of the characters are mentioned earlier in the series, each book is a standalone.

I will say that honestly I couldn’t get into this book and I’m not sure why. I just didn’t connect with it. Maybe because I’m not up on my Greek Gods and such. I will say the book is well written even if I think the I Love You’s came out of nowhere. So even though I didn’t like the book I would give it a 3.5 star rating rounding up to 4 stars since it’s a 5 star rating system.

I truly think most people that read cozy stories will really like it even though it really wasn’t for me.

Karmen is the sous chef at a retirement home filled with supernaturals. It’s a big job but she’s talented. When she discovers two of the residents have been filming a wacky cooking show that’s gone viral, Karmen is shocked. The show is called Grandma’s Witchin’ Kitchen and it’s drawn the interest of a producer from ShowFlix named Devon. Karmen tries her best to convince Devon that the show won’t work. He has no idea everything is magical. But no matter how hard she tries, he refuses to leave. Sparks fly between them, both in and out of the kitchen. Has Karmen discovered the perfect recipe for love or will Devon run in the opposite direction when he learns the truth?

Recipe for Love is a hilarious paranormal romance I couldn’t put down. I simply adore Cats Paw Cove and the whole series. Sharon Buchbinder is in her element when writing for this series. Her flawless narration is filled with humor, emotion, paranormal/supernatural creatures, awkward moments, romance, and of course cats. Each scene is expertly detailed, so the reader is thrust into the story. But it’s the characters that make Recipe for Love impossible to put down.

Karmen is a delightful heroine. She is someone who loves her job and taking care of the residents. Her personality shines and I connected with her from the very first page. The sparks fly between her and Devon.

Sharon Buchbinder has penned another intoxicating and humorous paranormal romance. I couldn’t put it down and neither will you.

My Rating: 5+ stars

Recipe for Love is a rollicking romp of a read!

Set in the Cat’s Paw Cove universe, this romcom is set at the Feline Fine Retirement Home, which is packed with supernatural seniors of all varieties––djinn, witches, demigods. When Devon comes to film a reality series there, he is unaware the paranormal world really exists. Boy, is he in for a wake-up call! Luckily, he has chef Karmen there to show him the ropes.

Laughs abound on their rocky road to romance. Buchbinder has a knack for writing truly real characters in a totally unreal setting. From Grandma Redbird, and her absolutely disgusting culinary endeavors (special thanks to the author for NOT including the recipes. Ha!) to Niles the talking cat, you will love the residents of FFRH, and be rooting for Karmen and Devon to get their happy-ever-after.
