A healer’s best chance to save a life lies with the woman she has rejected in the past.
Saving patients is difficult when you don’t have the right medicine. Anlei needs a phoenix feather that only a court alchemist can provide. Unfortunately, the only court alchemist she knows is Cordla—the woman who Anlei rejected when they were students at Starfall Academy.
Unable to ignore her patient’s needs, Anlei visits Cordla for a favour. But the silver fog rolls in, and they are stuck together till the danger passes. Forced to spend the day in each other’s company, they summon old memories, reveal hidden secrets, and rediscover a familiar warmth.
THE PHOENIX FEATHER is a sweet and cosy sapphic fantasy romance for fans of Legends & Lattes and Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea.
Grab this novella, and melt into Golam Soulpats’s story of love between a healer and an alchemist.
Golam Soulpats is a fantasy and science fiction author.
She was born addicted to stories and grew up on a varied diet of books and anime. When she’s not reading or writing, she can be found doodling, playing video games, or staring off into space.
Though the bulk of her work is sapphic fantasy, stuffed with cosy vibes, she will write whatever genre the story demands to be written in.
Anlei and Cordla were at Starfall Academy together - Anlei was studying to be a healer, but at first Cordla didn’t really have an aim. This is a story where we begin in the present day, in the magical world these two young women inhabit. Anlei is working with her brother in a small clinic in the countryside, in a poor area, just surviving and healing the local inhabitants. We then jump to Anlei and Cordla’s joint past, how they become friends, help one another, and then fall out. But their feelings linger until the present day, even if Anlei won’t even admit them to herself. This is a fantasy story, with some lovely warm moments, and a lot of joy between the women. There are also some racial prejudices here which are echoes of our real world. The world building is really good, with their land and its beauty and also its dangers being well presented. This is a clean story with warm love and kissing, but no steamy scenes. My only negative comment about this story is the rather abrupt and slightly frustrating ending.

There is also a free novella which because it’s free I can’t review on Goodreads - the review for that is below. The characters from this are also mentioned in the book above.
The Wrong Summon, by Golam Soulpats ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bou is a student, studying Slimes, creatures that look like jelly blobs with eyes. Green Slimes are the most common in her world, but she is searching for the elusive (and possibly legendary) Dark Slime, in a purple colour, for her college dissertation. She tries to summon one using a magical circle, but instead summons Shalendra, a minor demon 😈 who deals in souls. This is a lovely gentle angst free and clean fantasy romance between these two females.
