I learned things I'd never known about pizza. This nonfiction book tells the story of pizza in a picture book format with an interesting story line. The illustrations are pen and ink drawings with some accents (in pizza colors). I'd heard the term Pizza Margherita, but never knew where it originated - now I do! I also learned that the tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella cheese represent the red, green, and white in the Italian flag. This is a fast read that will be interesting to anyone who loves pizza. (Should I have just said everyone?)
