They’re all dead… And it’s my fault. It was just supposed to be a fun getaway. You know? One last girl’s trip before summer ended to see a once in a lifetime event. Unfortunately, they didn’t live long enough to witness it.
suddenly i want to be besties with these psycho girlies 👯♀️
this is an erotic horror story, smutty, mindfucking, violent, betrayal, serial killers, final girls vibes, blood play, knife play, murder, donuts but not really, necrophilia, somno, graphic scenes, getaway trip, multiple povs, and standalone novella 🔪
the girls decided to do a group get away in a cabin in the woods. fallon, summer, savannah, amber, and bridget take off for the weekend to recharge and just spend the next few days together. these woods hold something sinister. this cabin is the last place you’ll ever be before you take your last breath. the fucked up part ? no one in this house can be trusted 👀
this absolutely blew my fucking mind !!! is it bad that i want to be besties with amber and summer 🫣 they are so ride or die !! and let’s talk about lukas 😳 mans is fucked in the head. i literally was so shocked at the ending. was not expecting that plot twist at all omg
do not go into this book thinking it’s a dark romance !! IT IS AN EROTIC HORROR 🖤 there is simply no romance and instead straight up fucking and spilling blood. absolutely add this to your tbr if you want a quick smutty horror story or if you just want to be completely mindblown 🤯
What. The. Hell. Did I just read? And why did I love every depraved second of it?
It starts off innocent enough, just a bunch of girls heading to a cabin for some fun and some drinks. But on the way BOOM, enters the too hot to be true stranger. The vibes get dirty, the tension gets nasty, and every single one of these women is ready to risk it all.
And honestly? Same.
From there, it descends into absolute chaos: blood on the floor, secrets in the woods, and sex that’s way too good to be safe. We’re talking choking, knives, bodies dropping, moaning between murders, like someone handed The Cabin in the Woods to a sex crazed horror goblin and said, “Go off.”
And that twist at the end?? I audibly gasped. Sat in stunned silence. Then, I picked it back up because I needed more.
This book is feral. Filthy. Unapologetically violent and sinfully hot. And I kind of want more?
Well damn, I’m f*cked because this was hot af. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫, 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬!
This was a wild ride. It is a spicy novella with a group of besties going on a girls trip just for things to take a turn. The chapter titles & the characters had me cracking up. The character development & scene setting were top notch for such a short story. I called the first plot twist but definitely not the second. If you like your spice with a lot of murder & gore, pick up this novella & be prepared for a jaw-dropping, make you sweat kind of story!
Wow just wow! Words can't even describe all the things that I can say about this book. Am I going to say all of them? "NO." because I'm not going to give anything away.
When I tell you this was one of the biggest mindf*cks that I have read in a while I'm not lying. It really will have you thinking "wait what's going on?."
Summer and her three "friends" are going on a road trip to this cabin. Are they really friends, well no not really. They are the biggest group of mean girls I have probably ever read. While they are too busy talking crap about one another there is something sinister that starts happening while they are on this trip.
While I was reading just when I thought I knew what was going on, boy was I WRONG! so wrong I was. The plot twist was definitely plot twisting and I couldn't believe it!
This is a crazy, dark, twisted and erotic horror story! I loved every bit of it. Just when you think you have it all figured out, nope it all gets turned upside down again.
A group of girls decide to rent a cabin for a girls trip. But nothing went as planned as soon as they got there.
Lukas, he was unhinged and charming all at the same time. He is what all those thriller movies are made of.
Read all of your triggers and warnings. If you love a good slasher movie or serial killer vibes, then this book is for you.
Do you enjoy the thought of going on a girls trip somewhere quiet and beautiful to just hang with your besties?
I did too.
Wrong Turn was a wild little ride of giggles, WTFs and plot twists. The character development and world building was done sooo well for a novella. Easy to follow and get the full picture (at times this was more a curse than blessing… damn hahaha)
Are you going for a little cabin get away? Girls trip? Hike in the woods? Bring this book with you! Really immerse yourself in the crazy…
This is erotic horror! Know your genres and know your triggers!
WHAT! THE TWISTS?! This book was absolute chaos from start to finish. The whole thing reads like a sexy parody movie and I was here for every wild moment. Bridget’s death scene was my FAVORITE because she was perfectly annoying and watching her go down was everything. The characters are so messy and fun making this an amazing crazy ride that kept me hooked the entire time. If you want twists, chaos, and unforgettable drama this is your next read. Highly recommend!
There is no question that K. L. Autumn and Maren Riley are two horror girlies after my own heart. If you like a little erotica (or a lot) with your horror, great sarcasm, a little smart 🍑 gal and lots of giggles, do yourself a favour and read this wonderfully unhinged novella that has a fantastic twist that had me kicking my legs in pure joy.
I loved the character development and watching them all unfold. Fallon was great. Savannah was your quintessential naughty girl. Bridget, Bridget, Bridget. Seriously girl, take a chill pill. And Lukas. What can say about Lukas? Nothing, because I don’t want to spoil the fun. But I especially loved Amber and Summer. Their relationship and connection was awesome. If I had any negative thoughts, it’s that I wish this fantastic novella was a full length novel. I would love to learn more about these besties.
Read content/trigger warnings before you head into the woods! This one’s a doozy. Do not go in thinking this is a dark romance. This one is all erotic horror and I am here for it!
K. L. and Maren, thank you both for writing a great little horror story. I just have one question ladies… When are we renting a secluded cabin in the woods?
I loved this. No, I don’t think you understand, I LOVED this. My God, it’s like they dipped into my decidedly dark and questionably, not triggered, soul and saw every single trope, theme, slasher movie in a book, that I love ugh and made it happen. And it’s so BEAUTIFUL 😍
Fallon, Bridget, Savannah, Summer and Amber are the biggest bunch of bitches you could ever hope to never meet and I mean this in the best way possible because I LOVED them. Think The Heathers but on crack. They’re catty, mean, they don’t particularly like each other, barely tolerate each other but….yay for a bestie group of friends!! And this group is going to a cabin in the woods for a long weekend…
The cabin is nice, the drinks are flowing and that cute guy they met at the gas station when they got lost and offered to show them the way to the cabin? Well he shows up the morning after sleeping on their couch with drinks and donuts to say thank you for the hospitality….
The Donuts guys, THE DONUTS?! 🫣
What follows is twist after twist, someone is picking these girls off one by one, nothing is what it seems, no one can be trusted (side eye to everyone) and the “sausage among the tacos” guy as Fallon puts it, shady….. or is he? Is it mind games? Who’s the killer? And why oh why am I side eyeing myself over a Bigfoot? Read the book, you’ll get it 😂
The final twist can I add had me clutching my non existent pearls and whispering “WTF????” because What?! So good.
I didn’t want it to end, it was about 168 pages of gory, gluttonous, bitchy girls who you secretly kind of evil smile at when the blood splatter hits (just me?), fantastic, fun and one hell of a ride In a book.
I’ll recommend 100% especially to the spinning tops that spin the fastest and then spin the other way even faster, again, read the book, you’ll see what I mean, so epic. So epic I’m on my way to order the paperback and that’s when you know I freakin loved it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
When I read the blurb for this one and saw erotic horror, I just knew I had to give it a read. It’s the perfect short, intense and gorey novella. OMG when finished it was a case of what did I just read, that was not what I was expecting at all.
Everything starts off innocent enough with a group of friends heading for a weekend away of stargazing. Amber, Summer, Fallon, Bridget and Savannah all friends on the surface but deep down they are not as close or as nice as they seem. But they all were very individual and very well thought out and you got such a great sense of wo they were even though it was only a novella. The introduction of Lukas to this little girl’s weekend was perfect, you were drawn to him straightaway and knew there was more there than meets the eye!
There is a great pace to the story and when we get right into the action, and once it starts, we it just keeps coming! I mean it really does descend into chaos, there is literally blood everywhere, dirty times in the woods and some crazy twists you will not see coming! There is just the right amount of horror and spice, the murders totally had my attention, and I just couldn’t put the book down!
Also, can we just talk about that ending! Ok that was a twist I did not see coming and it was delicious, I need more was not ready for it to be over.
If you love a book with serial killer/slasher vibes then you need to pick this one up, but be sure to check the TWs before you do.

### Review ### Wrong Turn by Maren Riley and K.L.Autumn
🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
Well, who knew that a “I'll just read one chapter before bed” moment would turn into devouring the whole freaking book in one sitting? I even tried to put it down—but nope, I had to know what would happen next.
Five girls. One man. A cabin in the woods. What could possibly go wrong… or so right?
I loved that nothing is as it seems. A twist after turn hits you out of nowhere. The multi-POV style was perfect—it gave everyone a voice and made you care (or second guess) every character. No one feels safe, which makes the tension deliciously intense. It's unpredictable, unhinged, and absolutely bloodthirsty.
It gave me serious classic slasher vibes—in the best way. Add in some blurred moral lines and just a sprinkle of erotic tension to finish the donut, and you’ve got a story that’s both twisted and addictively fun. With every girl bringing something different to the group. Finding My new favorite quote? “I didn’t paint my face and dress from head to toe in camo to play the hero. I’m the villain, baby.”
This book will grab you by the throat and not let go. If you love dark, chaotic horror with heart-pounding suspense and a cast full of secrets, this one’s for you. Just don’t expect to sleep after “one more chapter.”
Wrong Turn by K.L. Autumn & Maren Riley is just a cozy little story about a group of girls taking a girls trip to watch the coming up meteor shower. Well, that’s what it starts out as. It quickly shifts when they realize someone is messing with them and their things while they’re away or while they’re sleeping. They start to think maybe they shouldn’t have gone on this trip after all! …Too bad they’ll never find out what happened.
This book was everything! I did not want to put it down and stop reading! K.L. Autumn & Maren Riley did such a good job writing such a twisted little spicy horror story! It will have you thinking you know what’s going on and then the plot twist happens and then you will forget everything that you even thought was going on. The plot twist was SO unexpected to me, and that’s all I’m going to say about it!
I 10/10 recommend Wrong Turn by K.L. Autumn & Maren Riley to literally anyone. Well, I guess don’t read this if you have a weak stomach, and don’t like gore. And of course read the trigger warnings. And if you don’t want donuts ruined for you… BUT if you are like me and live for anything that has a laundry list of trigger warnings and is completely messed up and twisted, then definitely pick this book up and read it, you won’t regret it.
This book felt like watching a perfectly twisted horror movie—equal parts eerie and enticing, with just the right touch of spice. It’s firmly in the erotic horror category, so definitely check your triggers before diving in. This isn’t a romance; there’s no happy ending waiting at the end of the blood-soaked trail. But the way it all unfolds is darkly satisfying and deeply entertaining.
A group of friends head to a secluded cabin in the woods to celebrate a birthday, only to cross paths with a dangerously charming stranger. What starts as an innocent getaway quickly spirals into torment and terror as something—or someone—begins stalking them from the shadows.
By the time you reach the ending, everything you thought you knew clicks into place. Those little moments that felt strange or insignificant suddenly make perfect sense, and you realize the story was setting its traps all along. It’s clever, unsettling, and wickedly fun.
One thing is for sure, you’ll never look at crème filled donuts the same way again. 😏
I recently read a statistic online that only about 35% of the men born in the USA in 1952 are still alive. That actually includes me. So I’ve decided to be completely candid when it comes to reviews. Consequences be damned. I really enjoyed this extreme horror splatterpunk erotic tale of five young ladies and a serial killer. I mean I really enjoyed it to the point that in several scenes I wish I could have been Lukas. If there are any gents, who have read this book, you know exactly what I’m referring to. It’s definitely not the horror or violence. As far as the characters go liked Amber and Summer a couple of bad ass ladies in their own right. I expected a lot more from Savannah and Fallon but they fell short. Bridget was a waste of space. Our serial Killer “Lukas” though extremely dangerous was a complete idiot with delusions of becoming the next Hannibal Lecter. He fell miserably short of his goal. In closing I would definitely recommend this to anyone not offended by its many, many, triggers. Believe me there are enough triggers in this book to supply an entire army.
I really didn’t know what to expect going into this, it was different to anything I’ve read before but GOD I was not disappointed!! 🤭
Thriller, horror, spicy, dark, twisted, unhinged and all of the above they absolutely devoured with this one 🖤🖤🖤🖤
The twists and turns in this was incredible. The group of girls in this were so bitchy and evil I loved them! Lukas or what ever you wanna call him.. I thought he was crazy and evil but oh my god I did not expect it to turn the way it did?!
I feel like I’m pretty good at guessing the whole who did it or who is it game but that was unexpected😶
Chapter 19.. wtf
Chapter 24?! Jaw was on the floor.
I don’t even know what to say without looking like a psycho path my self.. other than I loved this. Like really LOVED this.
PLEASE please please read trigger warnings going into this one and I don’t say this lightly, this was dark. In the best way.
Also thankyou maren for first ruining sandwiches for me and now donuts 😭
Wrong Turn is a novella about a girls trip gone wrong... or maybe right? Five girls head to a secluded cabin. Of course they get lost on the way and have to ask the sexy random guy they meet at the gas station for directions. You'll have to read this story to find out if that was the right call or the deadly one?
Okay, first this is DARK and MORBID. If you have triggers, read the list please before you continue. Now with that out of the way, this is a fun one. The novella is just as twisty as any mountain road you'd drive to get to a secluded cabin. This reads like a B-rated 80's/90's slasher flick only a lot more erotic! Its filled with morally pitch black characters. Every single one is unlikeable in some way which leaves you not too heartbroken about any of the events that take place.
If you are looking for a quick, dark, erotic horror for this upcoming spooky season look no further. But be warned this is not for the faint of heart.
omg this was so goood I love every second of it I been looking for a book with this type of vibe and you bet this was what I was looking for a girls trip in the woods and someone out there haunting you and a hike in the woods yup sign me up and amber omg I can relate to her with the unsolved cases or the serial killers I live for that stuff not me wishing I had some besties like the girls they were unique and entertaining in their own way I love them so much they really keep the story entertaining as well as Lukas but the part where amber says "if yall don't want to be ass r*ped by Smokey the bear I suggest we get a move on" I was crackling love that part whoever thought of that was genius and omg how can I forget the donut scene that was something idk if will eat or see a donut the same and it really gives you the spooky vibes lowkey recommend reading it as autumn fall season
This was probably hands down one of my favorite reads this week. Female empowerment. Female humor. I loved it. The book was spicy and comedic. There were twists at the end of the book that I wasn't quite expecting.
The spice was 🌶🌶🌶🌶 out of 5 for me. It was nicely paced as well. Not too lengthy, and wasn't used a filler for the story. It highlighted in areas it needed to, and was written perfectly.
This book was honestly extremely well written. It was the first book I've read by Maren Riley and K.L Autumn and I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be checking out more from them.
The biggest triggers I think people might cringe from are:
Necr0phili@ and Somnophili@.
But it is not something that is too heavily in the book. It's more like insinuations and blips.
But if you liked the Last House On the Left movie, you'll probably like this a lot more.
A group of friends go away for the weekend but it not as fun as it seem…
The book was decent but the writing was a bit cringey for me it was giving TikTok slang/ too much irl vibes which for me I don’t enjoy reading/ I like my books to be a escape from the real world which this didn’t have
The gore was basic- if you not a fan of gore you would enjoy but for someone who reads extreme gory shit it wasn’t anything special- I also felt it wasn’t as dark as I was thinking it would be- it was meh but it wasn’t a bad read
The characters piss me off but I think that was the vibes 😂, the spice was okay but it wasn’t anything special
I did read the book, i enjoyed some parts but overall it wasn’t hitting it for me
Wrong Turn is an erotic horror that I absolutely ᴅᴇᴠᴏᴜʀᴇᴅ and read in one sitting! This book honestly blew me away. A ᴘᴇʀꜰᴇᴄᴛ balance of suspense, humor, and smut, with twists and turns galore. The writing in this was seriously so good, reading this was just like watching a horror movie, but with unhinged smutty scenes. I’m not even sure what else I can say without spoiling anything. If you’re looking for a dark and depraved book to take you on a wild ride look no further!
Like a Sexy Horror Movie on Steroids – And I Loved Every Minute
Wrong Turn completely caught me off guard—in the best way possible. I picked it up expecting a quick, spicy read, but what I got was a wild mix of laughs, tension, and some seriously unexpected plot twists. The character development was on point, and the world-building sucked me in fast. I could easily picture the cabin, and the creepy vibe.
Lukas was unreal. The kind of smooth, mysterious stranger you'd expect in a horror movie, except this one turns up the heat to about 100. The way he kept reappearing at just the right (or wrong) moments gave the story this eerie, almost supernatural edge.
Honestly, it felt like the erotic version of a slasher flick, and I mean that as a compliment. The laughs were legit, the tension was thick, and that ending? Did not see that coming. It was the perfect blend of “WTF just happened” and “Yeah, that was awesome.”
If you're into steamy, slightly twisted reads that don’t hold back and actually surprise you, this one’s a no-brainer. Fast, fun, freaky—in all the right ways. Five stars.
So let’s be real, of course I went into this book knowing next to nothing because I love surprises. These two definitely didn’t disappoint.
We start out with a girls trip to a remote cabin literally in the middle of nowhere to watch a meteor shower. All is fine and well…until it isn’t. Weird shit starts to happen and some of the girls don’t handle it so great. Me? Oh I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time with no freakin clue what was going to happen. Wrong turn indeed or in my case right; each turn and twist had me laughing my ass off or jaw dropping in complete shock. This novella will have you thinking twice about renting a cabin in the woods but for these 2 I’m in, every single time. I’ll even bring donuts 😉
This novella starts with 5 girls heading out for a trip to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. What could possibly go wrong?
........
Wrong Turn is a pitch black, completely unhinged, fantastic read! I loved watching the characters develop. The setting was so wonderfully written I felt like I was there. Every new twist had me flipping pages almost faster than I could read them.
Even though I called one part, the others had my jaw dropping and I said "wtf" out loud around every corner. There was humor, gore, tension, and ooohhh that spiiiice.
Wrong Turn definitely has me rethinking any future cabin trips. Or my occasional morning donut! 😆
[This is erotic horror! Please check/know your triggers!]
Five girls on a five day trip to a secluded cabin in the woods. What could go wrong?
On the drive to the cabin the girls take a wrong turn and drive until they come across anyone that can point them in the right direction. They stumble upon the drop dead gorgeous man named Lukas who is able to show them where they will be staying. But after that meeting nothing about their stay is normal or relaxing and Lukas seems to show up at every turn.
This is like the erotica version of any scary movie made. I loved this novella. It was a crazy read with laughs along the way. I did not see that ending coming but I absolutely loved it!!
Ohoohoooooo Maren did it again, i had my predictions but i didn't see that ending coming. I felt like off the whole time but this....... Why was it so short tho, ( wink wink) i could've kept going and i would be fine with that. This is what they call horror, i honestly have to say, i started reading it, i think i was 15 or maybe 20 procent in and then i went to bed and oh yeah you guessed it i had a nightmare straight up like i was in the book.... Lukas had me by the ... the level of discomfort/ attraction was unreal, i got where the girls were coming from. ( insert little smirk here) BUT that ending, so here for it!
Such an amazing book! Enjoyed every single page of it.
I mean I knew this was horror and there was going spicy scenes in there, but let me tell you… IT BLEW ME AWAY. So good. The plot twists had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and made me read the book in a matter of hours.
Let’s talk characters. Loved the charming and slightly mysterious Lukas, but the girls were even more interesting. I especially loved the focus on the difference between Fallon and Amber.
Though I won’t say much more so that it’ll be a surprise for anyone who has yet to read it. Highly recommend. And I applaud the authors for the amazingly crafted novella.
