Dr. Katy Reichert left her high stress job on the East Coast to start over in Crystal Lake Wisconsin, but she soon realizes she’s underestimated the rural tourist town. Especially when she treats DNR Game Warden Reese Webster after he’s clawed by a bear and then suffers a gunshot wound. She’s even afraid of Duke, his highly trained German shepherd. Reese knows that Katy is way out of his league, but when she narrowly escapes being run off the road, he realizes he’s inadvertently dragged her into harm’s way. Reese is determined to protect Katy, even if that means sacrificing his life—and his heart.
I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates a wonderful love story and adventure intertwined together. This book is full of suspense and descriptive of the hurt felt by a man hurt by a woman and how God stepped in and restored his faith and how God put the right woman for him.
5 stars I purchased the novella Worth The Wait : Crystal Lake Series book 4 by Laura Scott and this review was given freely. Continuing the theme of Christian ER worker meets her future husband in the ER and of protective dogs, Doctor Katy meets Game Warden Reese while treating him for a bear attack and then a shooting. Katy, who left Baltimore for the peace and quiet of Crystal Lake, soon finds herself embroiled with Reese and his dog Duke in some life threatening situations. Action packed with near collisions, a rescue on the lake, burglary, a forest fire, and an attempted kidnapping this novel is suspenseful and ever changing.

This was a book book. I enjoyed reading about Duke. I love animals, especially dogs and cats. I'm glad Reese and Katy survived their scare and admitted their feelings to each other.
The story continues and the suspense builds. I love the story line,; wish. It would have Lemmon been in less than six books. Enjoy each book in this series series.
Each book is similar yet different and unique in their own ways. I have read this one and the last one in one day I just could not put it down!!!!! Can't wait to read the next!!!!! Love how each characters you read starting from the first book is included in the followings! It ties the stories together.
This book has more of a mystery in it then the others in the series.
Oddly enough, Worth the Wait, is somewhat a tale about taking too much responsibility for your actions. Katy felt she has harmed a patient so she no longer trusted her judgment. Reese felt that he was responsible for debts incurred by his ex-wife.
