About the
Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall, resulting in a quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn't any good at it. I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on becoming a nurse.

A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author's webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing. Now, I spend my days off with my alpha male characters, quick witted heroines, and see how much trouble everyone can get into.

When I'm not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance novels.

I have now read five out of seven books in this series and I have to say, Ghost's Treasure is my favorite. It has something that I found lacking in the previous books - real suspense and intrigue. I know that sounds harsh but when you read a series about 'warriors' and read the blurb describing what the Wind Warriors are all about, you expect action, intrigue and suspense. When it goes missing or plays a very minor role in the story, it can be very disappointing.

The story begins with Josie rummaging through a box of book she purchased at a estate sale. Little does she know and much to her surprise, she stumbles upon a hidden treasure. Not know if it is real, she sends emails out to museums to determine what she actually has in her possession. Next thing you know, people are after her to get the priceless treasures she has. Not knowing what to do, she goes to the FBI for help. From there things start getting interesting. The FBI assigns her a bodyguard to protect her until all the evil players are rounded up and taken care of. All the action and intrigue surrounding the lost treasure and the means Ghost takes to protect Josie is what I loved the most. It kept the story moving at a great pace what with not knowing what was going to happen next.

There is, of course, the romance that develops between Ghost and Josie. Ghost has his own tragic story and ghost of his past that haunts him. Josie is no dumb blond and is actually a fun character. The fact that she is a biathlon athlete and was raised around guns keeps her from being a shrinking violet when all the dangerous chaos ensues. Lots of surprising twist and turns as they deal with the bad guys and we get a revisit with all the previous Wind Warriors, which in a series, is always a nice plus for me. Things do heat up between them, thankfully well after the danger has all passed, and has a nice slow progression and ends in a sweet HEA.

So this is the seventh book in the series and I'm not sure if there will be more. I know for me it will be my last. Over-all this is not a bad series and I'm sure there will be many readers who will enjoy and appreciate what it has to offer. I personally enjoy a book that has a lot more action. Although, I found the stories a bit repetitive, Cheyenne Meadows does do a good romance and I'm sure fans of hers will enjoy this series.

Josie lives a quiet life and keeps to herself. She works as an assistant librarian and decides to do something different with her day off and goes to an estate sale and purchases a box of old books. She discovers there are more than just books in this box. She tries to do the right thing with these treasures and finds herself in a whirlwind of trouble, danger, and people who will stop at nothing to get those treasures.

Ghost is an assassin with a tragic past he doesn’t want anyone to know about. His goal in life is to take down the bad guys no matter what, even if it means death for him. Ryan from the FBI, needs a favor and needs Ghost to use his incredible skills to protect Josie from the killers that are coming after her. Little does Ghost know, she will be the one to break down his walls and warm his heart and make him feel again. Can Ghost allow himself to open up for Josie during the time they are together? Is this really just a job?

This book was amazing. The story line kept me reading and reeling over what was going to happen next. Between the action going on with the killers on the loose and the feelings developing between Josie and Ghost, I couldn’t stop reading. His past is tragic and my heart was breaking for him, for his past and his present. These scenes broke my heart. Josie’s character was a fun, witty, feisty, and loving woman. She made this story much more fun. She brought the laughter in and was a breath of fresh air when the sadness was overtaking my emotions.

This was my first time reading any book to this series by Cheyenne and boy am I glad I read it! I can definitely recommend it to you. Once I realized that it was #7 in the series, I was worried I was going to be missing a lot to the story, but this definitely wasn’t the case. I will be adding 1-6 to my “to be read” list immediately. I don’t think you will be disappointed by this authors work!

Nanee's Review:

Who wouldn't love a book with mercenaries and hot as hell Navy Seals... I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's got mystery, intrigue and sweet and sexy parts. I loved Ghost, he's a hero in my book I wanted to make him smile too, I felt for him and wanted him to get a HEA. Josie I loved how they kept referring her to a Jack Russell with all her energy, I also loved how she can show up the guys at the shooting range (you go girl). Great story, It was hard to put down once I started reading it. I thought the author captured the characters feelings perfectly and her ability to hook the reader. 5 stars. If you want a mystery with some romance added in I would definitely recommend. Review by Upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
