Majken's husband is an idiot. He is abominable and his behaviour is so demeaning. I have no idea why she loves him. Were all men like that in the fifties? Like "Little girl, be a good housewife and wait apatheticly for me every day, and don't you dare have fun or have your own opinions!".
I liked Majken at first though, because she felt more independant then.
