It tries to showcase how strategy consultants think through frameworks, examples and tools, to help young professionals improve their chances at professional success. Stop Blaming the Market, Start Blaming Your Strategy (and Execution!)

"Why Your Strategy Sucks" is a total wake-up call and a seriously refreshing read! If you’re tired of business books that drone on about grand corporate visions, this one is for you. It argues—convincingly—that real success, both professional and personal, boils down to having clear, executable plans and a team that is actually productive. Forget the fancy presentations; it's all about the execution.

The book is fantastic because it immediately broadens the scope: strategy isn't just for the boardroom, it's for every aspect of your life.

The biggest mic-drop moment? The author pinpoints ‘Human Resistance’ as the number one reason why virtually all strategies fail. This alone made the book worth reading. It beautifully defines the difference between good strategy (excellent execution) and bad strategy (fancy slides), and even throws in some mental tools like the MECE principle to help you think rigorously.

I also loved how modern the book feels. It dives deep into the VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) and future-proofs your thinking by exploring five major themes, including the inevitable rise of AI and the emphasis on health and sustainability. The analysis of the Generation Z consumer is spot-on, stressing their demand for content, community, and omni-channel accessibility.

Ultimately, the core message is that EXECUTION is everything. It provides incredibly helpful frameworks like the COM-B model for understanding why humans resist change, and the stakeholder prioritization map to make sure you're engaging the right leaders efficiently. If you are involved in any kind of project management or business process, the section on process redesign—and driving 75-80% efficiencies—is pure gold.

This is a surprisingly actionable guide. It’s packed with diagrams, common sense, and high-impact advice like “Communicate with a big C.” Highly recommend for strategists, leaders, and anyone who feels their current plans are just sitting on a shelf gathering dust!

Why Your Strategy Sucks" surprised me. I expected a dry business manual, but Sandeep Das makes strategy funny, sharp, and oddly personal. He argues that strategy isn’t just for CEOs — it’s for all of us deciding where to live, which job to take, or even how to spend our time. Some parts lean too corporate, but I found plenty that made me pause and rethink my own choices. If you’ve ever felt stuck between two paths, this book offers a fresh lens. I wrote a full in-depth review on my blog — you can read it here: tusharmangl.com.
