Rebecca is a London born and bred mother, writer and psychology student. She is the mother of a superhero (who is currently growing his hair like Thor!) and spends her days with her nose stuck in a textbook, her fingers tapping away at the keys…or she’s building forts and eating gummy bears.
She is the author of dark psychological romance. An avid reader and lover of stories that keep you guessing, Rebecca writes tales that will challenge your perceptions and toy with your emotions. Her stories invite you to open your mind and dig deeper into the meanings of the lives of each and every character you meet. She entices you into their world – to feel with them, grow with them, to love with them. She asks you to become a part of them and allow them to become a part of you.
Have you ever read a book and when you finish you sit and ponder for a moment. The only thought that goes through your head is..... "What the heck have I just read?" That was Revival for me. At just after 4am this morning I finished this book, having been offered an arc by the wonderful Rebecca Sherwin. It's now late afternoon and I'm still wondering how to write this review.
Let me tell you, what you get with Revival, for me, is two stories. In the beginning we have Cut Throat Curtis's point of view covering some of Survival, the first in the series. But the story changes, it develops and becomes not his point of view anymore but a whole new novel. Of course there are references back to Survival and I urge you to read that first but wow, Rebecca, Curtis is one screwed up, dark and dangerous man, a man this reader wanted to heal, to love and most definitely liked.
This is not a book where you will have any idea where it is going, it's so full of twists and turns it kept me guessing and I'm still guessing - very impatient for the next installment. It's a book where you think you know what the next page will give you and when you do turn that page it's totally not what you expect.
Cut Throat Curtis is a fighter, one who doesn't physically fight anymore - or does he? He fights for his right to live his life his way, he fights to overcome his demons, he fights to feel and he fights to get back the all consuming love he lost. We are introduced to Jessie The Gentleman Kennedy and together Jessie and Curtis embark on a mission to uncover a mystery, the mystery that is Oliver Jones (you'll have met Ollie in Survival). Introduce the despicable Charlie (the woman you will love to hate) and you have a group of characters sure to entertain. The Mission - What does Ollie's diary contain? What secret is going to be revealed about his twin sister, Skye and what on earth happens to Uncle Phil??? So many questions that will be answered in Thrive #3 in the Twisted series and I do hope we won't be kept waiting too long.
This book is action packed, fast paced and ends just at the right point - as a reader you'll need a breather before you get all the answers. Highly Recommended.
'Cut Throat' Curtis has come to tell his story, his story from the start. After being orphaned at a young age he went to live with 'Daphne' looking Aunt Lois. He struggled to live, he struggled to cope. He was always fighting and always in trouble. What would become of a young boy, bullied and belittled in everyway?
I've been waiting FAR TOO LONG for this book! And I must say it lived up to everything I've been expecting and MORE! I want to squish Curtis into big cuddly cuddle and tell him everything will be okay if he just believes. I had to keep telling myself he is just a fictional character, but I love him! I loved him in Survival and I love him here, in Revival...his book.
Revival is very well written and draws you in from the start. Capturing your immediate attention. I cried, I laughed and choked! Again, Rebecca Sherwin has out done herself and I can't wait for book 3!!
This is aimed at mature audiences of 18+ with violence and sexual content that is too frickin hot!
A gripping storyline with twists and turns that you just don't see coming. This is Cut Throat Curtis' story. We get to see what happened to him before and after he sends Skye away. How that decision effected him and his life. I loved Curtis when we first meet him in Survival and I couldn't wait to get more of him. I wanted to know his story and what happened to him, and boy did we get that and so much more! I really enjoyed reading this book, it had me crying and laughing and gripped me from start to finish. I can not wait to see what happens in Thrive now, another 5 stars for Rebecca!!!
First I want to say that Revival was amazing! The title of this book is perfect for the story of Curtis Mason. I was not expecting what I got, that is for sure.
Curtis is a man with a horrible past. And while reading about his past I wanted to crawl into my kindle and just hold him. That is if he would have let me. This man has so much love to offer but doesn’t think he is worthy of such a thing.
Revival is in Curtis's POV and let me tell you…He is even sexier in this book. And I don't mean he is a man now and we get to see him now; I mean he is this man who fights to survive and doesn't stop.
Now there are new characters in this book as well. One is Charlie and she is the biggest bitch you will ever meet. She is a monster in heels. She knows what she wants and she will stop at nothing to get it and she pretty much owns Curtis now.
I really want to go into detail and tell you how Curtis ended up with this horrible bitch Charlie, but I can't and I won't spoil it for you. But I will tell you she is a criminal, horrible person, and Curtis’s poison.
Then right when you think you know what is going on and what is happening it all blows up in your face! BOOM! Just like that, and shit hits the fan.
Once I got to the end of the book…My mouth was hanging wide open and I was sitting there with a “WTF just happened” face. Rebecca Sherwin definitely twisted this book and you don't even know when that twist is coming. And yes, if you know me well, I did message Rebecca. “So Damn Good! SO DAMN GOOD!” And I said that I didn't like Charlie. LOL
So go check Revival out today you will not regret the decision even with an evil bitch from hell within it…I promise.
As a HUGE fan of Survival, the first book in this series, I was beyond excited to begin reading this second book. I am so grateful I received an ARC copy.
In Revival, we are told Curtis “Cut Throat” Mason’s story and it had me as gripped as the first!!!
Curtis is such a multifaceted man and I loved how that plays out in the book. He is angry, hurt, confused, sensitive, determined…the list goes on. Add to this that he is hot and sexy as hell and you know you are onto something good.
We meet interesting new characters…some you will love, some you will cry for and some you will hate! I cannot wait to read more of there stories in the third book "Thrive"!
The authors descriptions of the fight scenes were so well written that it made me almost smell the sweat!
This book is intense, dark, and full of sadness. And the ending had my mind blown!!!!
I cannot wait to read more in this series and from Rebecca Sherwin!!!
After reading Survival, I couldn't wait to start reading the second book.
Revival, covering the story of Cut Throat Curtis, is just as fantastic as the first book. Learning about him, what makes him the way he is and his journey through life was a rollercoaster ride. There are shocking moments, tender moments, moments that elevate your heart rate as you strive to know what will happen next.
Rebecca's writing is excellent and you can feel the raw emotions of the characters. Everything they go through you can almost feel yourself and I found a strong connection with them. They are very real characters, with flaws and secrets and that is what makes the book so good.
This book left me sitting open mouthed for what felt like an eternity. Simply stunning. It's the second book in the Twisted Series and tells the story of Curtis 'Cut Throat' Mason. From his tragic childhood and throughout his torrid and turbulent times, this book had me in it's grip and never let go. I was right there in Curtis's head, living it through Rebecca's amazing writing. The ending....I most definitely didn't see that one coming and completely threw me for six. Just fantastic but what now? There's only one way to find out - Thrive, I'm coming for you.
Carburetion, Ernest Hemingway style... Very interesting!
I don't know what it is about this series but I'm hooked! It's crazy, all over the place, sexually intense, sad, disturbing and I couldn't stop reading it...
This installment is from Crutis's POV, giving us an insight to his past, thoughts, feelings, why he pushed Skye away, what happened to him in the last 10 yrs and then catches us up to the current time...
I wasn't sure which direction this series was going to go in but I'm liking it so far!
Wow this is even better than book this is in Curtis pov and it's awesome everything he has been through that lead him to the end of this book I don't want to say to much to give it away but I'm defiantly team Curtis now. And I really need book 3
One of the quiet joys of being stuck home from work ill is that you have permission to read, read and then read some more. Guess who took advantage! Revival (Twisted 2) is Curtis Mason's story, his link into Ollie's life and then his guilt to Skye as he knows had he not brought her to the fight that night then Ollie would still be alive, they would have had the £30k purse and been on their way. Instead Ollie is dead, he left Curtis with a journal and some very cryptic clues which for years he ignores after he sent the only woman he could ever love away because he believes himself to be a monster who cannot be loved nor saved.
The next 20 or so years takes him into the painful periphery of Skye's life where he sees she is happy, in love, glowing and the whole thing breaks him all over again. He no longer fights but runs a very shady management company that is actually a cover for his twisted and manipulative partner Charlie who some does some very dodgy dealings.
Curtis knows his life is a mess, his first friend in years Jesse is in trouble and hiding, Beth (Skyes older sister) has invited Curtis to her wedding and he goes because he wants to see her, as he realises the last time he saw her was the night her heart was broken all over again.
Skye is shouting at Curtis and pushing him out of the wedding reception, when her absent father asks if there is a problem. Curtis sees who it is and all of a sudden some of the secrets start to make sense...........
Bloody brilliant, I have downloaded book 3 and off to read it now!
This is another 5 star read from Rebecca Sherwin! I don't know how she does it. From the moment you start reading, you are captured and just have to keep reading until the very last word, or in my case begin the next book immediately! Thank God it's out! I don't know how all you poor souls who had to wait for it managed. In Revival we follow Cut Throat Curtis. We get to see what he was doing while we were riding along with Skye in Survival. Poor Curtis, he just can't seem to catch a break, he lost his parents when he was 5, was taken in by his Aunt and no account Uncle, and finally placed into the care of the owner of a gym. For awhile it seemed that Curtis was going to do well, for a while he did, he made a name for himself in the boxing world. He had a mentor who cared about him, and then he met a kid, who seemed to remind Curtis of himself a few years back. He took him under his wing, showed him the fighting ropes, and almost instantly grew to love the young man, Oliver. Then one day everything changed, Curtis met her, Skye. She was off limits though because she was the sister of his best mate Oliver. Then through a horrible tragedy, Curtis and Skye lose Oliver. Then through his own stupidity, although he thought he was doing the right thing and being selfless, Curtis lost Skye. After that his whole life changed. He became a shadow of his former self, refusing to step into the ring ever again, because he blames himself for Ollie's death. He turns to cheap women and booze, to try and forget the only woman in the world to him. Then he's offered a hand up, move to the big city and work for his mentor. It turns out that he's only scraping by, without proper food or clothing, living in filth. Then another offer of a hand up comes his way. Will this hand be the one that finally helps Curtis up? Or will it all turn out the same and be a curse instead? Will he ever see Skye again? Also Oliver shared a deep secret with Curtis, one he kept a secret, one that leads to more questions, one that somehow involves Skye. I can not say enough just how much I love this book. I immediately grabbed Thrive to read, upon finishing this book, but I tore myself away to try and share this awesome, masterfully crafted book with you all. This is that book, that series even that you have to tell everyone about. Go! Get the book! If you haven't read Survival though go and start there, these books are not meant to be read as standalones. It's a shame that there can only be 5 stars given, because this book deserved so much more. Thank you Rebecca Sherwin! Never stop writing!
Wow! Where do I begin with this book… This is book two in the Twisted series and it is written in Curtis’ point of view. If you read Survival, you will have read Skye’s point of view. But that’s the great thing about this book, while it does go over some of what you’ve read in Survival, you’re not reading the same story in just a different point of view. There are years that Skye and Curtis were apart and in Revival, you get to see what Curtis was up to. Curtis was an angry kid. After he lost his parents, he moved in with his aunt and uncle. Tired of her nephew getting in fights at school, his aunt took him to a gym to live and work where he eventually got to train to become a fighter. Later on in his fighting career, he met Ollie, a young boy trying to work and save enough money to get him and his twin sister out of the terrible place they were living. Curtis made the decision to train him to fight, which eventually led to the greatest mistake ever. After losing her brother, Skye begins a “relationship” with Curtis. I use that term loosely. After Curtis lets Skye go, he begins a downward spiral, finding himself in trouble time and time again. Will time heal all wounds or will Curtis go through his entire life regretting the day he let Skye walk out the door? I absolutely loved the first book. The emotions I felt during that read were unbelievable. And so I was very excited for this to come out. I could not put it down! I was so anxious to read what was going to happen. I wanted so badly for each page I turned to have Skye and Curtis getting back together. These two were meant to be!!! And the thing is, the way it’s written, there are dates at the beginning of each chapter. So you know what Skye is up to as you read, and you’re yelling at the book, trying to get Curtis to understand that Skye needs him, then you realize you’re yelling at a book. Rebecca Sherwin has grown immensely from her first book written, Second Chance Hero. I knew this lady had some amazing talents inside her. I know she can only get better and better and now that this book ended on a somewhat confusing cliffhanger for me, I am back to anxiously waiting for her to write more. There were some scenes to me that just didn’t seem to flow right, where I was confused as to what was happening, but that’s my only complaint about this book. Rebecca Sherwin, four and a half stars! I love you chick! Oh, and guys, Benny the Hunter is pretty hot. Just sayin’.
Firstly can I start off by saying that I finished this book at 00:30am and messaged the author basically saying "WTF DID I JUST READ?????"
Right now back to our normal service lol
Revival is the second story in the Twisted series. Having read book one I was already aware of the main characters and the story of Skye, her twin Ollie and Curtis. I really enjoyed book one and could not wait to get into this book. This story is told from Curtis' point of view. We learn about his childhood growing up and how he found his way to the gym and boxing. There is some repetition as he reflects on what happened to Ollie from the first book but it is told in his point of view and we learn more details. The story then moves forward and we find out what Curtis is doing with his life.
I love that this is set in England, there is a sense of familiarity within the book as he travels into London and Kent.
Curtis just blows me away, he is haunted by his past and what happened to Ollie. He struggles to deal with his emotions and finds himself being influenced by others and getting sucked down into situations he knows are not good for him. At times he goes into self destruct mode as he feels out of control of his life. The one things that pulls him back is his love for Skye.
Curtis has unanswered questions and seeks retribution for his past, hoping that he can find a way back to Skye.
We are treated in this book as we are introduced to another new character, Jesse. He is another hot boxer and I would love to hear more about him.
Now as I mentioned at the start the book ended and I was in complete shock. Huge, major twist and I completely did not see it coming. Like I said you will be like "WTF did I just read??" Now I understand why the series is called Twisted!
There is a huge cliffhanger and I am in major need of book three. This book will not disappoint, I can not stress how much I love these characters and books. A must read!
★★★★★ I honestly can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed this book... Curtis' story had me on the edge of my seat from the word go!
Every part of me just wished I could ease Curtis' torment! His POV is gripping, exhilarating and so utterly heartbreaking at times. I honestly never expected his life to take the turns it did after he sent Skye away and I was left reeling from a lot of it. Curtis has so much guilt for things he couldn't even prevent he really is a tortured soul and I just wanted to reach out and hug him... After Survival I really wasn't sure whether I would ever end up forgiving him for sending Skye away the way he did but when I got inside his head and saw the way his mind works and his reasons for everything he done I couldn't help but love him like A LOT. I know a lot of people will be thinking that this is Survival retold from Curtis' POV but it really isn't, there are, of course, parts where his and Skye's paths crossed which you saw in Survival, but on the whole it is a entirely different part to the story it's the what happened next after they went their separate ways.
You get to meet some new characters too... Some you'll love and of course there is always at least one that you'll love to hate. Charlie was my love to hate character, she is not only a witch but a total manipulator! I'm not going to say any more about her because honestly the way she uses Curtis just makes me so damn angry! Jesse The Gentleman Kennedy is my LOVE character, he is probably the first real friend Curtis has had since Ollie and I was SO happy when he appeared!
I will warn you all that there is an epic cliffhanger! That had me gripping my Kindle to the point where I thought it would break! Thank you for another amazing instalment in this phenomenal series Rebecca!
****ARC received in exchange for an honest review****
After having read Survival the first book in the Twisted series, which was from Skye's point of view, I was excited to read more about Curtis. It is a view of his life from the time he was five years old and gives you a better perspective of the choices that Curtis made involving Skye in Survival. It also continues into his life long after him and Skye part ways. This is a raw, dark, and gritty view of life involving of a relationship born out of necessity, crime, and hatred. I am a big Skye and Curtis fan so parts of this book were a little hard to read, but when an author can create such strong feelings about a story line and the characters, you know that you have encountered a rare talent.
Curtis has a self deprecating, violent, passionate personality which the reader either loves or hates. He is a moral, good hearted, strong man under all those layers of darkness. He tends to never let the good shine through and protects his self with a outer hard shell to keep others from being close. He has a dark sensuality that drives women crazy and the reader gets to experience several steamy encounters that are hot enough to steam up the windows along with the libido. Cut Throat Curtis is troubled with a capitol T which makes you want to rescue him from all of his not so wise choices.
Revival is a great follow up to Survival and leaves the reader with much more knowledge about the events from Survival along with a side of the story that needs to be told. Rebecca writes dark, suspenseful, and sexy in a way that makes you want to dive in and experience more of this twisted world. I highly recommend for a person who wants to really delve into a characters psyche and learn to love a troubled hero unconditionally and watch the journey that they take.
If you read my review for "Survival", you were surprised I read this one.....Yeah I know. I actually got both books (Survival and Revival) at the same time as ARCs in order to do a review on this one.
This is Curtis' POV of Survival in addition to his childhood story and what he was up to, while Skye was out in the world trying to find her HEA.
His new chance of a better life pulls up in a flashy car in a dark alley. Curtis meets and teams up with Charlie, she is the brain and he is the muscle as they work and play together. He takes all his frustrations out on her and she thoroughly enjoys it. Curtis is also training Jessie "The Gentleman" Kennedy, trying to regain some control over his life and go legit in hopes of leaving Charlie behind. He and Jessie embark on a journey to decode Oliver's (Skye's dead twin brother) old journal. They discover missing files, a mysterious factory and......deaths, all while trying to keep Charlie's vile hands out of it.
Curtis' story is very different from Skye's and it had a whole different feel to it…..mystery and intrigue. So many twists and turns you don't know what the heck is going on. A lot of questions were left unanswered and a SURPRISED is revealed at the end. I really didn't see that coming. Bravo!! When I started this book I didn't think I was going to like it, since I didn't love book one. I.WAS.SO.WRONG. This book took me to a different place and I LIKED IT!! Can't wait to get my hands on Thrive, the next book of the series.
A gripping read rich in sweat, blood and tears, Revival is the second part of the amazing Twisted series. Where volume one told the journey of Skye Jones, we now get firmly into the head of Cut Throat Curtis Mason. His journey with Skye, and the turbulent dark roads he takes when their paths diverge, map a narrative of love, betrayal, mistakes and slow burning passion and tragedy. This is a book that throws you into a world of flying fists, pummeling circumstance and intrigue. It'll grab you by the scruff of the neck and drag you along for the ride.
Rebecca Sherwin excels at writing real, damned, loveable, infuriating, complicated and tragic characters who propel these brilliant stories. That the book is written from such a compelling male POV is a testament to the author - it's easy to forget this isn't written by Curtis himself in the wonderfully-employed diary-entry style. He's by turns a tortured man, a hero, a man beyond redemption, a lost soul, a pair of fists, a testosterone-fuelled libido, a frightened child stuck in the past and a warrior fighting his way to an uncertain future. He's surrounded by angels, soldiers and schemers pulling him in every direction. When he wavers, it's heartbreaking. When he succeeds, its a thrill.
Dialogue sparkles, tension will bring out goosebumps and the scenes of passion - always refreshingly integral to the story and to the characters - will definitely get the blood flowing to the right spots. I'm over the moon for this book, and can't wait to see the story climax in the next installment. Sherwin sure knows how to leave you wanting more.
Curtis “Cuthroat” Mason has had a shitty life, to put it mildly. He lost his parents at a young age and went to live with his aunt. Thankfully, his aunt took him under her wing and provided for him and took care of him. Much to her husband’s dismay. Curtis was a trouble maker form the beginning and his aunt pushed him to use his anger in a positive way. This is how Curtis got into fighting. While learning the ropes, so to speak, Curtis eventually meets Skye. The chemistry between Skye and Curtis is undeniable and when they get together WOW! Someone grab the hose.
Although, all seems right in Skye and Curtis’ life, Curtis feels like he doesn’t deserve happiness so he let’s Skye go. Afterwards, we follow Curtis on his journey through redemption, self loathing and truth seeking. Along the way we meet Jessie. Let me just say, I need more of Jessie in my life. I am really looking forward to what Rebecca has in store for the “Gentleman”.
I really enjoyed this book. Many times an author can write books that are parallel to each other but in different points of view, but I felt that this one was different. I like that although Revival took place during the same time as Survival, we weren’t reading the same story. We read about Curtis as a character, not just a point of view.
For me, this book was so much more than an erotic romance. These was so much depth between the characters and I feel that they were different than any other characters that I have read in the past. I would highly recommend this book.
I was given this book in turn for an honest review!!!
Cut Throat Curtis blamed himself; he was a failure. He let his friend down and then he sent away the one person, who truly loved him; who could heal him. With secrets kept and truth to be uncovered this is Cut Throat Curtis Mason’s story.
Revival has left me dumbfounded! I’m still truly in shock at where this book took me and then without any warning left me hanging with one hell of a revelation. Don’t get me wrong without a doubt I absolutely loved Revival.
I truly adored Curtis; I wanted to crawl into my kindle give him a huge hug and tell him how amazing he truly is; there were also moments I could have happily slapped him and told him to get his act together. From the start of this book, Rebecca Sherwin takes you on a suspenseful journey that with each page turn builds the tension and will have you sat on the edge of your seat with anticipation. Curtis’s story is far from pleasant and he as one hell of a story to tell. Rebecca will not disappoint you with book #2 in the Twisted series and she will leave you crying out for more.
If you enjoyed Survival book #1 in the twisted series, then you will seriously need to read Revival book #2. Love dark, heart wrenching, suspenseful romances you will love the Twisted Series by Rebecca Sherwin.
**I recommend reading Survival book #1 in the Twisted series before reading Revival.**
I loved ‘Survival’ the first book of the series and getting to read both books back to back was a rare treat! I devoured every word of this page turner! Being set in England is something I love too, it gave me a sense of familiarity. Then getting to the end well,I was not expecting that!
Revival picks up with the story of ‘Cut Throat’ Curtis Mason. Revisiting the story of his childhood and spanning the years while he was away from Skye, It tells the story of a man without direction, a little boy lost and mourning the loss of the only woman he’s ever loved. Caught in the clutches of the ruthless Charlie, Curtis finds himself reading through Oliver’s journal and with the help of new friend Jesse, tries to uncover the secrets within.
More gritty than Survival, Revival is sexy, brutal and full of secrets & lies, twists & turns. Six degrees of separation has nothing on this. The question is, how is everyone linked?
Brilliant, fast paced and full of action. At times I didn’t know whether I wanted to punch Curtis but mostly I just wanted to give him a big old hug. This was exhausting to read with the pace. I almost felt the need for a post activity cigarette! Still many questions left unanswered and I’m already wanting the next instalment. Loved it!
5 maddening stars. This series is driving me nuts (in a good way). After getting Skye's story in Survival, now it's Cut Throat Curtis's turn and what a story it is. Curtis's life hasn't turned out like he'd planned. After sending Skye away it sends him into a downward spiral. Every time he tries to take control of his life, something happens to derail him. The only constant is his love for Skye. Loving her enough to let her go may have been the worst thing he could have done. This book is not a repeat of survival told in a different POV, Skye does pop up but it really focuses more on Curtis, what makes him tick, what makes him the man he is. Determined to uncover the secret Oliver left for him, he enlists the help of a new friend Jesse. Jesse, I loved. He's got his own story to tell and I can't wait to hear that but back to Curtis... Feeling like he's running out of time, needing the answers to his questions, he's feeling like everything's out of his control. I loved this book. I adore Curtis. I just want to hug him and make him see he's not the man he thinks he is. Now I'm off to start book three before I have a mental breakdown cos I need more!!! More answers. More hot sex scenes. More Curtis. More Skye. I just need more.
After reading Survival, I could not wait to read this book. I was blown away with book 1, and this was no different.
This told the story of Curtis Cut-throat Mason, of the terrors he held within, the love he felt for Skye, the day to day terror he lived with stemming from years before, he was an angry man, a man with a self-destruct button. The only thing that made him feel anything was Skye, she gave him calm, she gave him purpose, she gave him love.
Cut-throat had guilt that he carried around for years, he had hatred he also carried around, how does he deal with it? Can he survive? Can he become whole again? Is there any way this man can thrive? Well I lie to you not, this series has so far blown me apart, it is one of those twisted tales, that everyone involved plays a part, you get your heart ripped out, you get angry, you cry, you laugh, it is truly mindblowing.
There are plots and subplots and each of them have a solid purpose in these stories, you cannot fail to love the 3 books in this series, there is enough grip to superglue you to the kindle from book 1 through to book 3. Tissues ready? Ok, feel free to read on.
Curtis is our main characters in Revival book 2 of the Twisted Series. We met Skye in book one, and she is a delightful woman who has suffered loss in her life. Curtis has also had a hard life, and he is scarred by it, just like Skye is scarred by her past too. It is only natural they are drawn to each other, but like every good thing it ends!!! Or does it?
Curtis wanted to protect Skye, and the best way to protect her was to send her away, and that is what he did! This story delves into how Curtis deals with the aftermath of her departure from his life, how he kind of self-destructs, how he carries the blame for everything, although he is not to blame for the past, he has difficulty in accepting that.
What will happen? will Skye return?
The Author has this knack of drawing you right into the story, you actually feel the pain, the tortured emotions, you will get put through the wringer on this rollercoaster ride of emotions, you will survive!!! This book definiately revives the torrent of emotions you felt in book 1, blasts you from all sides, I for one cannot wait to get to Thrive the 3rd book in the series.
My Review 'Revival' is Curtis the Cut-throat's story, it delves into the murky past and shows you where he's been lurking in the darkness since that fateful day where he set Skye free (which i still want to slap him for!). This isn't your usual same story-different point of view book. Rebecca has added a wholeeee new dimension to the first book! however, she's swanned in and left me with even more questions than i started with! this lady is the queen of suspense! I know you're all wondering about our heroine...well i'm pleased to announce that Skye is, of course, a massive player in this book too. However, she has a rival for our heroes affections! an evil Cruella D'ville type of woman, she's vile and you will love to hate her! There is also a veryyyy attractive male doctor in the making...the gentleman Jesse...he is mine. Well and truly claimed! At this rate i'm going to need therapy after i finally finish this series! some kind of RA (Readers Anonymous...a place to recover after extreme author addiction!) Let the love affair continue! 'Thrive' here i come! 5 stars...as well deserved as the last!
Goodness me Rebecca Sherwin! You have done it again! As soon as I finished Survival I had to go one click Revival as I was dying to know what happened next. Although we don't get to the ending of Survival until close to the end of this one, I loved reading more about Curtis and what led him back to Skye.
We discovered Ollie left some kind of secret behind and Curtis vows to himself to get to the bottom of it - I have been hanging on all the way through as he dug deeper.
We are introduced to some new characters in this book (some I loved, some I hated), and meet again with some from Survival. It was easy to remember how they tied in together and where as Rebecca's writing pulls you in so much that you can't forget.
Curtis comes across as such a b**tard on the outside but inside you can feel that he is broken, so so broken. I have a new found soft spot for him!
As with Survival, you can tell Rebecca has done her research around fighting and I love it - there is something primal but hot about it!
The cliffhanger in this had me gasping and cursing - on to book 3 now as I am desperate to read more! 5* again!
Revival (Twisted #2) by Rebecca Sherwin ***5 stars***
After reading Skye’s story, I was more then eager to jump inside the brain of Curtis “Cut Throat” Mason, who I knew was going to have a lot to tell. He has had a dark path to travel throughout life, and it has turned him into a naughty naughty boy, yet one you can’t help but feel for.
Failure after failure has led him into the arms of a malicious, snake of a woman, Charlie. She preys on his weaknesses, and strives for the upper hand. Little does she know, Curtis isn’t as dumb as she thinks, and has her number. He’s dealt with her type of nasty his whole life, and plays along to get what he wants, until he can finally take the so-called trash out.
Skye has never left his thoughts or heart for a second, and he will do whatever it takes to make her happy and safe, even if he has to stay in the shadows. With the help of his friend Jessie, will they find the answers they need, to overcome past tragedies and all be given a fresh start? Jessie happened to have snuck into my heart, and I want more! Needless to say, Rebecca has left me reeling and wanting answers to some crazy happenings!
What can I say about Curtis. He's driven and lost the same time. He's a wonderful, complex, complicated man in a hard shell. This book shows the love and hurt, the hard and the soft side of Curtis. He finds himself moving along in life by being in the right place at the right time, or is it the wrong place at the wrong time? He's travelling through life, doing what needs to be done with Charlie. She needs Curtis to complete the missions she has decided they are going to complete. She tries to control him, he goes along with it but can't stand the idea of getting close to her. He has one woman on his mind, Skye, the woman he gave everything for. The perfect woman for him, the love of his life, he set her free so that she could live but misses her everyday. He befriends Jessie and they become good friends. He has been helping Curtis decode Oliver's journal but there's more to this than meets the eye. This book moves along showing us what a great complicated character Curtis is. There are some twists along the way and I can't wait to read the continuation of the story.
Revival is the second book in the Twisted Series and this is Cut Throat Curtis’ story told from his POV and you will read about the good, the bad and the ugly in his life.
His story delivers the answers to his troubled youth, how he become a fighter and what really happened with Skye. You will read about the aftermath of him Skye to leave and how a couple of bad decisions could ultimately lead to the answers he is seeking regarding Oliver and Skye.
The cliff hanger is an absolute shocker and I am still stunned by it. It paves the way for the next book in the Twisted Series and I cannot wait to read it!
Revival is a gut wrenching, soul destroying, emotionally gratifying read that will change every image you have in your head about Curtis.
Another ripper of a read from Rebecca Sherwin.

HOLY!!!!!! Wow! Woah! This book is all about Curtis "Cut Throat" Mason's journey. His life. The ending of it just blew me away. We saw the kiss between him and Skye at the end of book one. But NOTHING can prepare you for how this book ends. My heart stopped in my chest with the ending. I am looking forward to reading the third part of this book. We thought Skye and Ollie's story was a mess, wait until you read Curtis' life story. There are places to cheer for him, for getting back up and not letting life beat him down. Hey, he's an MMA fighter after all, right? Or is he? Read it, check out his story. Enjoy the ending, because it will blow your mind! I am hoping that Jesse's story is covered in the third part.
