DNF at 98%. This book annoyed the hell out of me. I rebelled and back buttoned out when the epilogue switched to the next couple in the series. The perfect freeze dried cherry on the top of a smashed cake. *wipes frosting off hands*
What a shame too, because the beginning was 5⭐️. The writing was snappy and humorous, and the take-no-shit heroine earned my respect.
But after some Mount Olympus style sex, the story bogged down in the heroine’s inner monologue. She refused to make a reasonable decision: whether to HR or not to HR. I felt stuck in an endless seminar about the dos and don’ts on sexual harassment.

Devoured this book and didn't leave a single crumb. In fact I’m licking my fingers clean bc holy moly was this book good! There was not a single thing that I did not like about this book. The plot was fantastic. The spice was on point. In fact if you listen to the audiobook, the first 25% had be folding like a chair because 🥵
I'll be honest, I don't see anyone talking about this series, and we need to change that. Because it's so underrated. These band of brothers are morally grey but oh so delicious. So my goal is to never stop talking about these books til everyone takes my recommendation.
I love all of the boys in this series and I was really looking forward to Jace and Scarlett's story. I love a good forbidden workplace romance between a boss and employee. An off limits tension filled plot line but sprinkle in a bit of suspense and I am sold! Now have the book start off with them meeting in a bar while Scarlett is making a revenge list for Mr. "grabby hands" which ends in a spicy weekend night stand, that's the making of a a five star banger! And a banger it is!
We need to touch on the audiobook because I'm still bound and gagged on the floor. Power is a duet narrated audiobook by Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood. And when I tell you that Connor and Savannah brought their A game for this one. Connor and Savannah are some of my favorite narrators and together they truly brought this book to life. Top tier perfection. The narration was so good that I turned a blind eye to all adult responsibilities. Can't stop, won't stop!

I really hate when the FMC tries to solve everything on her own or save the MMC without accepting help from her friends or the people around her. It’s really annoying and completely ruins the reading experience for me. 😩📚

This book doesn’t just begin — it face‑plants into your lap with the same energy as accidentally handing your CEO a document titled Reasons Scarlett Wants To Yeet Her Boss Into The Sun.
Sweetheart, the sass in this one had me cackling like a feral kookaburra.
Scarlett writes a revenge list — the kind of list you create after three margaritas, a bad week, and the sudden urge to set your workplace on fire. It’s meant to be private. Therapeutic. Something you burn before sunrise so no one ever knows how petty you truly are.
Instead?
She hands it to a stranger.
A gorgeous stranger.
A stranger she then accidentally sleeps with.
And on Monday morning?
That stranger walks onto the company stage as the new CEO.
I had to pause because the second‑hand embarrassment was so strong it nearly knocked me into another dimension.
Scarlett’s internal monologue is basically:
“I’m going to perish. HR is going to drag my soul into a meeting room and perform an exorcism.”
And Jace — Mr CEO, Mr Billionaire, Mr “I have the emotional stability of a thunderstorm” — looks at her like he’s trying to decide whether to fire her, kiss her, or throw her over his shoulder and storm out of the building.
The banter?

I cracked up so hard I had to pretend I was coughing.
There were lines where I genuinely had to stop reading because the comedic timing was lethal.
Jace’s energy is:

Look at her and die.
Think about hurting her and I will ruin your life, your career, your future grandchildren, and possibly your houseplants.
Sir, please.
People are trying to eat lunch.
The workplace tension is so thick you could spread it on toast.
Every glance is a threat.
Every conversation is a battle.
Every moment feels like HR is somewhere whispering, “Not again.”
And then the plot twists — because of course it does.
Jace’s best friend is behind the revenge list.
Secrets are everywhere.
The company is basically a corporate soap opera with better lighting and more sass.
The romance?
Forbidden.
Chaotic.
Dangerous in that “this is absolutely against policy and HR is crying in the bathroom” way.
Why 4 stars?
Because it’s funny, dramatic, addictive, and the sass‑banter combo is genuinely hilarious — the kind that makes you crack up, the kind that makes the chaos feel delicious instead of exhausting.

Kathy Lockheart already turned me into a fan with Book 1 of the series, Crash. And this one right here solidified her as a new favourite author of mine.
Simply wow!! I thought I'd never love a Lockheart MMC more than Blake from
Book 1 but my boy Jace strutted smugly to prove me wrong. 🦚
Scarlett, is Tessa's (MFC from book 1) bestfriend. She's strong, distrustful, suffered an atrocious past at the hand of her father, smart and true to herself and her moral values. I loved her character!
It's true that later on in the book she makes some questionable decisions but not intentionally though they rather stem from the need to protect herself and Jace.
Jace, is a man with skeletons in his closet. He's faithful, arrogant, assertive, intelligent and a softie at heart. He wanted redemption but didn't think he deserved it until Scarlett.
She turned his life upside down. She made him question his life goals. She shattered the foundation of his present and future and she claimed his heart and his sanity.
His need to protect her was greater than anything he has ever felt. 🤌
This book, although, started with so much steam it could have fueled a steam engine from the 18th century, but it turned into a nail biting, repetitive gasping, fist clenching and teeth grinding pretty fast.
We were more invested in the suspense of who? What? Why? How? than anything else. The author did not disappoint on the action part nor did it take from the developing romance between Scarlett and Jace. If anything, it made their love so realistic and deep rooted than any fickle hasty romance found in recent CR books.
The author dangled so many fake carrots in front of our faces only to retrieve them and smack us with the real ones. 🥕
This author keeps surprising me with more and better. Definitely reading the rest of her books.
P.S: I hated Axel in this book even more than I did in Book 1. I hope all this uncaring play-boy facade is all bark but no bite otherwise I'll be skipping his book altogether.

Very close to a five star read!
I just like how protective he is without being too much. Though of course, I wish for his character to be developed and polished. Aside from that, I can see how he really cares for the FMC. And I love how our FMC, Scarlett, cares a lot for him too. This was adorable.
Some scenes that I like:
"You can't speak," I said. "Not yet. So, for once, you'll have to listen to me." His eyes crinkled in the corners slightly. And then he looked down at my hand, and with his index finger, he traced a sign: a heart”
"I hate riding horses," he announced with the solemnity of someone confessing to tax fraud.
I tilted my head, wondering if I'd heard that right. "What?"
"I hate riding horses," he repeated, looking relieved to have this terrible burden off his chest. "I love that you love doing it. And I'll bring you to the barn anytime you want, and I'll watch you and buy all the treats for the furry beasts that you desire. Hell, I'll buy you a hundred horses if that's what you want. I want to support you in the things that you do and love. Especially things that make you happy, but I don't want to do the same things you do. I don't like riding horses. They're scary and unruly, and they don't listen. And they chomp.
With very large teeth." His face was so earnest, like he'd just confessed to the crime of the century rather than admitting he wasn't keen on horseback riding.
"Okay?" I managed, trying not to laugh at his adorable confession.
"I hope it is okay. Because I want to spend a lot of time with you, Scarlett."

The way I love a forbidden workplace 🫠 And no one does it like Kathy! Her writing is addictive - the fast pace, fantastic dialogue, suspense, and chemistry that shines through, made it impossible to put down. Jace and Scarlett fell fast and hard, but it had a natural feel. I had so much respect for Scarlett’s strength, and her need to stand up against abusers. I love the twists, and how easily Kathy can switch from a flirty mood with the best kind of banter, to a morally gray moment with action that keeps me on the edge of my seat. Also can’t get enough of the found family and friendships! Can’t wait to get to the next.

They initially were two complete strangers but a single interaction changed everything.

Jace Lockwood was a grumpy, handsome billionaire who never payed too much attention to the ladies because he was always afraid that they were only after his fortune. But from the moment he bumped into Scarlett, he couldn't get his eyes of off her. She had something magnetic to her and this determined man wouldn't give up until she said yes to spending some time with him. Little did they know that soon they will meet again, but in a completely different picture, one where Jace was the new big boss of the place where Scarlett work for. That fact had entirely complicated things but will they be able stay away from each other when they had that incredible magnetic pull to one another?
I could listen non stop to Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood!!🥰 I really looved how they managed to portrait that intense tension between Jace and Scarlett and that deep connection they had even from the start. Listening to this was even more impactful, hotter, sexier and more forbidden than only reading it. I truly couldn't get enough of it and I listened to it in only one sitting🤭. Super addicting!
I honestly wasn't really prepared for everything that happened in this book! Things were really deep even from the first chapters, instantly feeling like I just cannot stop from reading. I adooored that instant connection between Jace and Scarlett!! She was super sassy and seemed so confident in Jace's eyes but he had no idea everything she had to endure over the years. Scarlett was definitely a fighter but the trauma was still very present. It was so emotional to read some parts of this story, being facts which are still happening in daily life. It was hard to comprehend how they could do such things and I was super discussed by those people.
This book just didn't have a dull moment!! It was AMAZING top to bottom!! From some crazy steamy scenes, to some insanely suspenseful parts and then to those emotional ones, this story literally had EVERYTHING! It was super addicting, just as the 1st book of this series. I really, really recommend both books, Crash and Power! Go read them, guys.🥰

I could listen non stop to Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood!!🥰 I really looved how they managed to portrait that intense tension between Jace and Scarlett and that deep connection they had even from the start. Listening to this was even more impactful, hotter, sexier and more forbidden than only reading it. I truly couldn't get enough of it and I listened to it in only one sitting🤭. Super addicting!

Ahhhhh, this book deserves ALL the STARS in the sky, you guys!!!!!! The way I'm obsessed with this series and how each book gets better and better is totally beyond me. Kathy Lockheart has nailed another incredibly addictive book with the sequel to Crash, the medical romance where we met Blake and Tessa.
Power is not your typical office romance. All the detail from the plot, the characters, and the mind-blowing twists undoubtedly make this book stand out. Jace and Scarlett have shown each other so much that's hidden from everyone else; their love story is worthy of rooting for again and again. Simply put, I thoroughly enjoy every page of this book!

Power is the title and theme of the book. Power in all its forms - the power of a businessman. The power that privileged people yield. Even the power that individuals have over their lives and the decisions they make. And the flip side of that is the powerlessness that some people can feel for a variety of reasons.
Jace and Scarlett meet in a bar and are instantly attracted to each other. They spend an amazing weekend together and never share their last names or what they do. But Scarlett tells Jace one important thing - she was sexually harassed at work.
Imagine both their surprises the following Monday, when she finds out that Jace is the new owner of the company she works for. There are several different situations that are explored in this book - sexual harassment and how companies handle it when allegations are made. Domestic abuse and how it affects everyone in the family. Jealousy & envy and how it twists people’s lives.
The characters in the book are all intertwined. Scarlett is Tessa’s best friend. Blake is one of Jace’s best friends and Jace and Scarlett learn that midway through the book. Then there’s Dakota.

This book has such an entertaining mix of romance, spice, revenge, secrets, and drama. Scarlet and Jace meet without knowing who the other really is, have one unforgettable weekend together, and then Monday morning comes with one heck of a surprise...her mystery man is her new boss.
I really liked Scarlet. She’s carrying a lot and trying to keep everything together while dealing with a workplace situation that has pushed her to her breaking point. I loved that the story wasn’t only about her relationship with Jace. There’s betrayal, secrets, healing, and enough going on behind the scenes to keep you wondering exactly how everything is going to explode.
Jace...God, sweet, sweet Jace. Possessive, protective? Absolutely. The man basically takes one look at Scarlet and decides she is now his favorite problem. I especially liked that underneath all of that billionaire CEO confidence, there was a softer side to him. He genuinely wanted to understand Scarlet and protect her without completely taking away her ability to fight her own battles.
Their chemistry was easily one of my favorite parts. The banter was fun, and Jace falling hard for Scarlet made it even better. I also really enjoyed his friendships and some of the lighter moments between the guys. They helped balance out the heavier parts of the story.

Don’t waste your time. It’s all over the place! It felt like the author threw every OTT trope at the wall to see what would stick. Both main characters became so aggravating and unlikable I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

This is the second book in the Sinners & Saints series and could be read as a standalone.
I loved book one, Crash, but honestly I think I love this one even more!
Scarlett and Jace were everything, their immediate chemistry was undeniable, their banter was so good and the spice, ooof, the spice between the two was spicin’.
I have read more than my fair share of meet cute moments and the “revenge list meet cute” has definitely been added to my list of favorites. Honestly, a lot of moments in this book will be living in my head rent free. I loved it.

This. Book. Ruined. Me.
I have seen people say that books have ruined them, but never really understood what they meant until I read this.
Oh my god I don't even know how to articulate how good this book is. Kathy knows how to write a book.
I feel like I've been on an emotional rollercoaster. The twists, the turns, the love, the secrets. I was gripped from the very first page, and truly devastated when it was over.
I absolutely loved every character. Every scene. Every moment in this story. Jace and Scarlett's relationship built so beautifully. The side characters and friendships. I felt so invested in all of them, like I was actually there witnessing what was going down. That's how good this writing is.
I was laughing out loud at the revenge list. I was fanning myself at the steamy moments between Jace and Scarlett. I was smiling like a love sick teenager at the beautiful moments between J&C. And I damn near cried at the devastation near the end. Only to go through all the previous emotions all over again after.
Some really sensitive subjects covered in this book, but so beautifully done.
Kathy, I salute you. I didn't think I could love your writing anymore than I already did, after Crash (and all your other books) but my god you have outdone yourself here.

The story was fine. I felt like the it was just more about having sex scenes than having the main characters actually fall in love. The MMC was almost so obsessed with trying to find out who harassed her rather than them actually building a relationship. This is somewhat a workplace romance but seemed like the author tried to make it more dark than it needed to be. The banter between characters was good, but overall just kind of a mess with the storyline.

I started reading the fourth book in this series then put it aside to start again with the first book, read it and moved to this one. I enjoyed it and recommend it.
Scarlet, our heroine has a very good job and was hoping for a promotion. But then she experiences a strong case of sexual harassment by a superior. She and her best friend head out to a bar after said experience and come up with quite a revenge list. Also, while at said bar she notices this extremely hot guy and he notices her and yadda, yadda, yadda, they have an extremely excellent one night stand. While they both agree it can only be a one time thing, feelings for each other had already begun.
Jace is our hero and we met him in the first book. He’s a multi millionaire who buys up failing company and turns them around to become profitable and of course he was the male part of the one night stand. And in huge coincidence has only recently bought out the company Scarlett works for. They are both shocked (and inwardly stoked) to see each other at the staff meeting where Jace is introduced as the new owner. He had learned about the harassment from Scarlett the night they met and is determined to find out the name. And when Scarlett sees the connection between the two men, she realizes she can’t tell Jace who it is.

I enjoyed this one. I loved how the title became such an important part of the storyline. Watching Scarlett and Jace fall for each other while facing several challenges along the way really worked for me. I loved the chemistry and tension between them, along with the emotional conversations they shared.
Scarlett is career focused and power and control are struggles that have challenged her throughout her life. This stems from her childhood, particularly her relationship with her father and the toxic environment she grew up in. She also experiences this in her work career. However, I loved her stubborn side and the way she stands up for what she believes in.
Jace is also a man who understands power and control, but Scarlett doesn’t know that when they first meet. Their chemistry was brilliant. I loved how flustered she was by the situation, while Jace was so intrigued that he had to get to know her. Add in a beautiful, no strings attached weekend that neither of them could forget, and you have a story filled with heated tension. I loved watching these two together, and the spicy scenes were fantastic.
Lastly, the audiobook was brilliant. Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood are incredible narrators, so make sure you pick this one up in audio.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I enjoyed this one. I loved how the title became such an important part of the storyline. Watching Scarlett and Jace fall for each other while facing several challenges along the way really worked for me. I loved the chemistry and tension between them, along with the emotional conversations they shared.
Scarlett is career focused and power and control are struggles that have challenged her throughout her life. This stems from her childhood, particularly her relationship with her father and the toxic environment she grew up in. She also experiences this in her work career. However, I loved her stubborn side and the way she stands up for what she believes in.
Jace is also a man who understands power and control, but Scarlett doesn’t know that when they first meet. Their chemistry was brilliant. I loved how flustered she was by the situation, while Jace was so intrigued that he had to get to know her. Add in a beautiful, no strings attached weekend that neither of them could forget, and you have a story filled with heated tension. I loved watching these two together, and the spicy scenes were fantastic.
Lastly, the audiobook was brilliant. Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood are incredible narrators, so make sure you pick this one up in audio.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Power is the second book in Kathy Lockheart’s series, but it works perfectly well as a standalone. That said, I really enjoyed book one, so if you’re a series reader like me, I’d still recommend starting there.
This one had high stakes from the start, with secrets, revenge, twists, and plenty of tension keeping the story moving. But for me, the biggest constant was the chemistry between Scarlett and Jace. Their passion and desire absolutely jumped off the page—or, in this case, out of my headphones. 🔥 Jace’s morally gray, possessive, protective CEO persona worked particularly well with the storyline, and I was completely on board with it.
And then there’s the audio. Connor Crais is everywhere lately, and I am definitely not complaining. He was perfectly cast as Jace, bringing that grumpy, assertive, demanding CEO energy that he does so well. Savannah Peachwood is always music to my ears, and she delivers a particularly emotional performance here. Together, their duet narration made the romance feel even more intimate and added another layer to the chemistry.
Overall, Power was an addictive listen with plenty of twists, tension, heat, and a hero I had a very easy time getting behind. If you enjoy morally gray billionaires, forbidden workplace romance, possessive heroes, revenge plots, and serious chemistry, this is one to add to your audiobook TBR.
