During his brief stint as a prisoner of the Order, Draco Malfoy notices that Hermione doesn't look to be doing too well. He had always assumed that, given her brilliant mind and gentle nature, those on her side would ensure she is taken care of. Evidently not. Must he really do everything himself?

I think what turned me off was that I wish there was more of like a reason why he wanted her so bad. Like maybe if the book had more time of him being the prisoner instead of her, so then I could like see the relationship develop from like a normal standpoint. But like I don’t knowsomething just isn’t right but like it’s not wrong enough for me to like DNF or just to stop enjoying it.
I usually avoid books that like keep secrets, and then like unload them all at the end or not at all, but I literally went into this blind. I had no idea what I was going into except for like the summary that’s on good reads, but honestly, like the vibes are here and it fit to have all the secrets revealed at the end and not like sprinkled throughout the story. If that makes sense, I don’t really know how to explain it, but I’m not mad.
I also usually avoid time travel, but I had no idea it was in this, but honestly, I’m not mad either because it made sense to the plot and like I could see it as like the author like opting out of finishing the story in the reality it began, but I didn’t like the reality it began in anyway, so I’m not mad. I know I keep saying that, but I don’t know what else to say, basically I felt that there was no hope for the original reality, so I’m glad it’s not the one that was permanent.

Towards the end, I wasn’t like rushing for it to end, which tells me I was having a fun time so that’s why it’s four stars even though like I’m not used to reading things like this, or even from this universe, I’ve never even read Harry Potter, but I’ve seen the movies like 10,000 times.

Edit – giving this five stars because I literally can’t stop thinking about it. It like popped up into my head at random times during the day and then I just get sad because the parts that went into my head are just sad parts. But it was so good I would totally reread it. Honestly, I totally would. Btw it’s the 21st rn. So it’s been like 4 days and I still think about it lmao.

was not a fan of the first part of this book. I don’t love fics where H is seen as weak and dumb, and that’s exactly how she was in this one, at least for the first 60-70%!

I did love the twist at the end and how the last 20-30% of the book played out! that kind of saved this fic for me tbh (but still doesn’t erase erase not liking the majority of how this one started lol)

I initially felt like the twist was kind of a cop out and kinda just lazy writing, but I actually think it saved the whole fic!

the first time i read this i dnf cause i wasn't wild about the dom/sub stockholm syndrome dynamic and how OOC hermione was, but then i read this authors entire backlog and im OBSESSED w her stories, shes my fav fanfic author by far. i swear i havent felt this thrill for someones writing since danielle lori, so i had to give her most beloved fanfic another shot.

i still am not sold on the hardcore dom/sub dynamic. i just dont buy it for hermione that she'd ever be so undecisive and unambitious. i also don't find the 'let me handle EVERYTHING' part of bdsm titilating. like some things sure but the collar, choosing clothes, food, etc its just too much for me i would find it so belittling and paternalistic but i know that level of kink is soothing for some people so im not judging.

however i just loveeeee this authors characters and writing so bad. no one writes SIMP DRACO like she does i swear. i smile ear to ear reading all her fics hes just so doting and they are so cute 😭😭

- this has no business being a Dramione fan fiction. It could be its own book with its own characters, because neither Hermione nor Draco have anything in common with their canon selves. I think canon Hermione would actually bash her head in a wall if she read this.
- the story contains the biggest deus ex machina I've ever read going back in time to kill Voldemort and revive everyone and live happily ever after? Really?

Whatever brand of man this is, I’m here for it. I think every Draco should be this obsessed with Hermione. Exactly what I wanted and more. That twists were unexpected but truly elevated the story. The last third was actually insane. A+ plotting.

4.5!!! Probably not the book version of Hermione & Draco I remembered but I had so much fun reading it and the ending is genius (this had more of a soft dom/submissive thing going on). Also for wartime this was surprisingly low-anxiety. Blessssss.

i really enjoyed this fic, it was different than any i've read before
however, there were some points that i wish would've been mentioned like Nott's motives for turning Hermione in, how the Order did without Hermione and if they ever attempted to get her back or simply resented her, what actually was going on with the war (since Voldemort was dead and the commander was Narcissa). i mean, i knew they were trying to find Neville's wand but other than that, why was everything so caotic and dangerous. also, i wish we had gotten more insight on Draco's views of Hermione through their Hogwarts years. i actually thought Draco would go back in time until they first met but that would be a waste of time and kind of weird to get in the body of his 11 year old self.
other than that, i just wished to know how much Hermione was able to 'recall' and if Draco ever ended up telling her that he actually came from the future

I loved yearning Draco throughout this entire book, he was just so perfect like *chef’s kiss* perfect in terms of yearning, obsession, protecting her, etc.

I would’ve loved to know where his obsession with Hermione started and it would’ve been better if this was revealed in the flashbacks he ‘saw’ in the Time Turner Cabinet..

Also would’ve loved him being a prisoner longer than Hermione and idk more chapters in the new timeline he created/managed to fix.. I would’ve loved to see how he’d pursue her with past knowledge but fresh circumstances..

Hermione’s character also lacked a certain level of depth which I can’t explain..

Regardless of all of that, the narrative is so unique and is genuinely stuck in my head. Beautifully written albeit my opinion of how the story could have gone and the author definitely improved their writing style over the course of the book.

I enjoyed this one and read it in 3 days but I have to say a simp Hermione is not my favorite. I’m all for a possessive Draco and he definitely delivered but Hermione came off as weak at times when I think her character could have been much stronger. Also the nicknames were plentiful which I don’t always love but I understand it’s a personal preference. The plot was unique but felt rushed in a few places, especially around some main character deaths. I loved the alternate version of their story at the end. I kind of wished there was even more to it. Their banter was fun and exciting.

I am not sure how I came across this but I’m glad I did. This was my all time favorite version of Draco by farrrrr. The way he coddled and did everything for Hermione without even asking had me folding so hard. And the praise ☺️☺️ had butterflies in my stomach holy shit. wasn’t a huge fan of the time jump but I was satisfied with the happy ending

This story went from good, to okay and boring, to absolutely amazing. It starts strong with a commanding, highly powerful, and confident Draco (wandless magic for DAYS, baby). However, once he kidnaps her, Hermione becomes a total wet towel and a tasteless potato. She is skittish and scared, making her the worst version of Hermione I have ever read. Luckily, once Narcissa’s master plan kicks into gear, the plot recovers.

I absolutely loved the ending, though I wish it lasted longer than just the final 20% of the book. The lingering yearning, patience, and romantic tension were incredible. That phenomenal payoff is the only reason I am keeping this rating as high as it is. I am crosssing my fingers that the writer has published a few extra chapters or sequel detailing what happens later in their relationship because their dynamic at the end was the bomb.com.

🚨Story

The story kicks off with Draco locked up as a prisoner of the Order. Hermione is working herself tired as an Order healer, even experimenting on herself to find cures and help out as much as she can. Draco falls hard for her and decides he is going to break out, kidnap her, and spoil her rotten so she will never want to go back to the war. In captivity, he is super gentle, romantic, and thoughtful, and he even shares secret Death Eater battle plans to get her to trust him. They eventually make a deal where Draco takes an Unbreakable Vow to help the Order, as long as Hermione stops overworking and lets him take care of her. She doesn't have to make a vow in return. They start getting closer, but Hermione is written as way more timid and weak-minded than her usual badass self. Draco eventually gives her a pet cat to keep her company since she is so lonely.

It turns out Narcissa Malfoy is actually the Commander of the Death Eaters. She killed Voldemort right after the Battle of Hogwarts because he murdered Lucius first, and Draco acts as her right-hand man. Narcissa's big plan is to find a specific wand from the battle that destroyed all the Time-Turners so she can turn back time and fix everything. The crew figures out that the wand belonged to Neville, who died years ago. It turns out Pansy was Neville's secret girlfriend, so she kept all his stuff, but nobody outside of the Gryffindors ever knew about them. Meanwhile, Pansy is engaged to Theo, who tricks Hermione into thinking he is helping the Order. Hermione totally loses it after reading a report that Ron was killed by Death Eaters (which Draco intentionally hid from her) so she runs to Theo to escape. Theo had told her Kingsley was coming to break her out, and a desperate Hermione doesn't bother to check if it's true, feeling like Draco was doing more for the Order than she was anyway. But it's a trap; Theo was actually working with Rookwood to kill Draco, and "Kingsley" is just an ambush.

The betrayal goes sideways when Rookwood turns around and kills Theo, then captures and tortures Hermione. Hermione manages to call Draco using her Malfoy signet ring, dragging him into a brutal fight where he gets seriously injured. Even though she's terrified, Hermione manages to strangle Rookwood to death with a heavy necklace with some clutch help from her cat, Crow, while Draco uses his last bit of strength to chop off Rookwood's head. The whole trauma causes Hermione to completely break down mentally, retreating into herself and wanting to die. Draco refuses to let her go, so he tracks down Pansy in the middle of some rubble. A dying Pansy tells him not to bother saving her from the debris, asking him instead to just take Neville's stuff and bury her remains with Neville. Draco snags the wand and successfully uses it to fix the broken Time-Turner.

The time travel throws Draco and Crow all the way back to their seventh year at Hogwarts, and Draco keeps all his memories of the dark future. Instead of letting the Death Eaters sneak into the castle through the Vanishing Cabinet, he systematically assassinates them one by one as they show up. He has to go to Azkaban for a little bit because of it, but he gets out in time to attend an official eighth year. Draco decides to watch Hermione from a distance because he knows from his past life that she wants a normal relationship: choosing an apartment and furniture together, and definitely no kidnapping. He steps back and watches her date Ron, and he specifically chooses a career as a Ministry Auror just to stay close to her at work, even watching her move in with Ron. His chance comes up when he asks Hermione for her translation skills to help crack a tough Ministry cold case. Once they catch the gang, he publicly praises her because he knows she loves praise, and he sends her her favorite chocolate cake as a thank-you, which is the kind of stuff Ron never does.

The breaking point happens when Hermione is about to go to Greece for a 3 week work project, and Ron throws a huge fit, accusing Draco of only wanting to sleep with her to spite him. Hermione finishes things with Ron on the spot and asks her boss to send her to Greece early. Draco pulls some strings to get assigned to the exact same project. Their first night in Greece is spent completely alone, but Hermione keeps her distance because she isn't sure what Draco's deal is. Their private dynamic gets ruined when the rest of the work team arrives early to surprise Hermione, which Draco absolutely hates. But when the whole team gets caught in a dangerous situation, Draco saves Hermione by tapping into the deep magic and memory connection from his past life, proving they are still tethered across time. After the drama, a drunk Hermione sleeps with Draco but panics and runs away the next morning, thinking he might regret it. Draco corners her in her room immediately, telling her never to do that again, making it clear he wants to properly court her, and asking her out on a real date. The date ends back at his place, where he introduces her to Crow. The cat and Hermione totally love each other, and she stays the night. Draco wants her to move in as soon as possible but is willing to be patient so he doesn't scare her off, promising he will handle all the public drama of her dating him so soon after Ron.

Listen, I can’t say I didn’t sign up for this because I did since I read the tags and I also wanted to try something new. Safe to say, I will not be broadening my palate.
I think you cannot avoid characters being at least a little bit OOC when it comes to fanfiction, however in this case they felt like entirely new characters to me. Which is fine, however I didn’t like this Hermione. I’m sorry but I like my characters with at least a bit of personality besides anxiety. Draco’s character was overall tolerable, however I think the course of his feelings changing from possessiveness and obsession to love (and including the other two) wasn’t very well executed for me. He pretty much acted the same from start to finish.
That being said, this was mostly enjoyable. The intimate scenes were written well, and I especially enjoyed the last third of the book after the twist. It was also strangely satisfying and intriguing to read about a version of the world where things did not work out for the better.

Not my fav Dramione - I don’t love fics where Hermione’s withered away to nothing even though she’s vital to the Order. I guess it depends how the author depicts how tired and overseen she is. I didn’t like Draco in this fic until he went back in time to fix the timeline. He actually seemed sane in the ending even though he had an unquenchable desire for control. I think I’m just not a fan of this type of possessive, toxic, and dominant Draco. And the ending was so sudden??? Lots of fics reference Hermione having Stockholm Syndrome but this is the only one where it actually felt like a legitimate claim. Anyyywwaaayyyys!!!

I didn't like the depictions of Hermione and Draco in this -- it didn't feel like them at all. I get it being an AU and everything that there's bound to be some differences in the characters and their personalities, but these felt like two entirely original characters. Hermione, even from the short scenes before being kidnapped by Draco, didn't have any of the traits she commonly does in different fics--no headstrong, willpower, intelligent, useful, or even important-ness in her role as a healer for the Order. Draco, despite him also being 24 in this, felt like an old man with the way he babied and spoke to her, and that made it not feel like him either. I get that the war would've changed things about them, but this felt starkly different.

It also felt like there was a lack of character building and scene building. I understand the main plot, but a lot of the characters and their motivations weren't really fleshed out, or even really there. We spend very little time with Draco being an Order prisoner and getting to talk with Hermione and her liking spending time with him; we're more so told those things. It feels like within two seconds he's come and kidnapped her, and then her terror and anxiety of being with him heightens tenfold. But then it feels like two seconds after that and she's molded easily into the role he wants her to be in and doesn't give him much of any pushback. It was jarring because I wasn't expecting this version of her: this weak, feeble-minded, easily manipulated version.

Idk I felt icky, maybe because this version of them REALLY felt like Stockholm Syndrome (yes, ik that was a tag, but other fics do a much better job at using the forced proximity, prisoner-style relationship between them to still make sure that they're developing real feelings for eachother). This genuinely just felt like a Stockholm love story, and I guess that's just not my vibe.

I thought there would also be a bit more exploration into her finally getting stronger mentally-- Draco starts to do everything for her; feed her, bathe her, literally dresses her and picks out her clothes. There was one scene where he left early and so she went to dress herself and talked about how overwhelmed/uncertain she felt picking her own clothes, and how she wished that Draco was there so that he could just pick her clothes for her and I'm like... girl what? THE Hermione Granger, after TWO WEEKS, mind you, has already had her brain scrambled like this? The fact she was wearing a dog collar (basically) with a bell, and felt no type of way about it, also was icky to me.

Idk y'all, I just I can't buy into them loving each other, even when he goes back in time. He feels predatory after the time skip because he literally is the years older verison of himself, just in his younger-self's body. It also felt too much like Hermione was infantalized by him --like he was literally her father and she was a little girl, and that's not my vibe either.

It was an easy enough fic to get through though, and the writing style was nice.

I am always going to love being back in the world of Dramione, and throughly enjoy watching these two characters fall in love again and again. I love to see all the different stories, alternate universes, different versions of Draco and Hermione and I'm always so impressed with what these fan fic authors can creatively come up with. I have so much respect for anyone who will put these stories out to all of us who love these two.

I did enjoy this one, but mainly because of the last 35-30% of the book. I still enjoyed the first part but I realized that my preference in Hermione is for her to be more of the brilliant (that we know she is), defiant, and badass character. Because this story is a Dom/Sub relationship with definitely some stockholm syndrome, she was not that. For that reason this was not a Hermione that I found myself really loving. I did love how obsessed Draco was, and how much he wanted to take care of her, but I did find him to be overbearing. I think again, this is because personally I am not into Dom/Sub. I would not do well in this scenario. I also have discovered about myself that if the FMC giggles excessively I cringe and it gives me the ick. I do realize it was necessary for the story so I don't fault it too much.

When it got the the 65/70% mark I could not put this book down. I really enjoyed that last little bit and I actually really liked how everything came to be. I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't want to ruin a major plot point but I really liked it. I think that the story was really well done and I really enjoyed this authors writing style. Also that last line in the book will live rent free in my mind.I thought it was brilliantly done.

Hermione is the Orders healer so how she ended up on shift to watch over the newly and dangerous prisoner, Draco Malfoy is a mystery but a bigger mystery is why she's counting down the days for the next time she has to watch over him.
Draco is a very polite prisoner and the only one who seems to give a damn about her. He is very observant and makes it very known that he doesn't agree with the Order's treatment of her and that he wants to protect her. So when he escapes and comes back to get her, is it really a surprise that he makes sure to keep his word on taking care of her and is it the worst idea for her to give in?

I really like this author and I've read a few of their other fics in which one thing is constant, Draco Malfoy getting obsessed over Hermione and wanting to own her, but this is the only work of them I've read in which Draco is actually a redeemable character and only truly cares for Hermione, even if that means giving her up for her to be happy.

I really liked this fic even if it was totally OOC and even if the premise didn't make the most sense, I still highly enjoyed it.

All the reviews I've saw about this fic talk about how much they loved the second half of it, after the twist happened.... I disagree. I loved the fic before and the twist, even though very interesting and alot more compartable with the original characters.... I still liked the "alternative reality" the best.

While Draco, who is now a General in the Dark Army, is a prisoner at an Order safe house, he notices that Hermione doesn’t seem to be doing well. The war has gone on for years and she is overworked as the only healer and seems to have no friends. After Draco escapes, he decides to kidnap her in order make sure she is taken care of properly. She resists at first but slowly finds that after years of being isolated and lonely, she actually likes that Draco wants to take care of her and appreciates her and becomes drawn to him. But that is only the first part of this fic. There are some surprising plot twists that completely change the whole trajectory of the story.

I know that some people did not like the first part of this fic because it seemed out of character for the canon characters, especially Hermione. She is definitely not the strong willed woman that we would normally expect to see. But considering that she has been fighting in a war for years and has lost many of her friends, it wouldn’t be far fetched that she is no longer like she was in school. And for me, the ending is just so good and it definitely leaves you wanting more of their story.
