Dark Retellings #3

Fractured Constellations

Rate this book
I wasn't supposed to fall for my stepbrothers.

When my mother married Richard Banks, I never expected cold shoulders and cruelty from his triplet sons.

Chase, calculating and ruthless.

Blade, clinical and unforgiving.

Thorn, whose smile hides venom.

Three identical faces with emerald eyes that watched me with contempt, three voices that cut deeper than any chemo ever could.

They made it their mission to break me, not knowing I was already breaking from the inside out.

They weren't supposed to find out about the cancer that's been stealing pieces of me since I was ten.

But they did—when they found me on the cancer ward. I expected pity. Instead, I got possession.

Now I live in a beautiful cage of their devotion. Their hands hold my hair when treatments make me sick. Their bodies warm mine when I can't stop shaking.

As the cancer fights to claim me and their father schemes to control us all, the four of us are breaking every rule. The hatred that bound us has transformed into something far more dangerous—a love so fierce it burns everything in its path.

They've claimed every broken piece of me and refuse to let death take what's theirs.

But I'm not sure if I'm fighting to live for them... or fighting to protect them from the pain of watching me die.

Three forbidden stepbrothers. One girl with a ticking clock. When stars collide, entire galaxies burn.

Fractured Constellations is a stand alone dark Goldilocks retelling where our leading lady doesn't have to choose between her three growly stepbrothers. It is a dark romance so may contain scenes that some readers may find upsetting, so please check the trigger warnings before reading.

Rosa Lee lives in a sleepy Wiltshire village, surrounded by the beautiful English countryside and the sound of British Army tanks firing in the background (it’s worth the noise for the uniformed dads in the local supermarket and doing the school run!).

Rosa loves writing dark and delicious whychoose romance, and has so many ideas trying to burst out that she can often be found making a note of them as soon as one of her three womb monsters wakes her up. She believes in silver linings and fairytale endings...you know, where the villains claim the Princess for their own, tying her up and destroying the world for her.

DNF @ 35%

I’m not even going to entertain the idea of liking this because it was nothing but juvenile from the start and adding the whole goldilocks retelling vibe was laughable giving me nothing but second hand embarrassment which was all this book was.

She rocks up at the house, a week later she meets the 3 step brothers who decide in an instant that they’re going to hate her but in a span of only a few days they find out she has cancer and they vow to protect her, fucking her six ways to Sunday also giving her a choke here and there literally the day after her first chemo treatment.

I’ll pass thanks but you lot can keep on pretending it’s a 5 star book💀

I want to give it a 4, even a 4.5, but I’m going to rate it a 3.5 ⭐️ because it was so hard to finish/ monotonous, and boring from middle to end. I think the word am looking for is mind-numbing. Spice 3.98🌶️

This is my first Rosa Lee book, and I’ve been wanting to read a few of her series for so long now!
I had completely forgotten how drawn in by the bully trope I am. I felt this visceral pain when the triplets acted mean towards her and I sobbed uncontrollably out of nowhere just because of what Luna’s physical and mental health has gone through so it just kind of overwhelmed me to witness her having to experience their rude/ignorant/brusque demands. Really though.. their animosity is something to drive a girl into depression [me— I’m that girl!].

Cringe: “You’re mine” when you’ve been her bully since day one (which wasn’t that long ago btw). It’s like the possessiveness came out of nowhere, yes their inner dialogues have shown glimpses of tender contemplations toward Luna, but still, especially from Blade, it feels far-fetched to show such emotion at her jab of being a “dying girl.” I’m all for the angst though. So the surge of panic that surfaces from them seeing her get dizzy and sway on her feet is just chef’s kiss.

At every corner, this book ambushed me with cringeworthy lines and unoriginal words. Felt like a repetition of so many books I’ve read compiled into—ah wait, goldilocks fairytale retelling, that was meh because the nicknames were absolutely cringy, except for [weirdly enough] “papa bear,” then “princess” and “star.” I’m like looking up synonyms for “cringy” but can’t find any and these nicknames are just so *shivers in uncomfortability*

After learning of her cancer, it’s like the triplets were tethering themselves to Luna because their mother died of cancer, and this disease is sort of like a bonding experience— not doing much for the sake of building up genuine bonds. The overprotectiveness is good but also too much too fast.

I don’t entirely get why they are triplets when the power dynamic and ages feel so different. And obviously, siblings have differing personalities and physiques, but it’s too evident how unbalanced they are. Chase feels like the middle child at the beginning of the book and Blade the oldest but then somewhere along the way Chase feels like the eldest, and it’s like the triplet concept was forced just to emphasize the forbidden trope.

While mommy dearest has been there for Luna all her life, she abandoned her the second Richard hijacked all of her social and domestic time. Yes, it’s a load to spend so much money on Luna’s treatments, but it’s like the secret of her conception came to light and all was forgiven because “oh, I loved her for 18 years even when she was forced on me, so a few months of living the rich life can be scratched off as a manipulative episode.” No—the guilty looks as she withdrew from Luna the more visible Richard’s hold on her was, didn’t mean shit if she kept neglecting her without a second glance.

Luna had that telescope brought to the mansion when she initially moved in and never again was it mentioned through all the galaxy rhetoric and constellation aesthetic... be so f-ing for real—that punchline to the blurb was the cringiest and most overstated thing I’d read in a while: “When stars collide, entire galaxies burn.” Similar lines were woven into orgasm scenes and it really was cliché and AGAIN- cringey.

If we take out the bully trope (which lasted all of 15-20 pgs) and the about-to-faint scenes [excluding the dialogue], the “author’s note” had more essence than the entire book.

Taboo but turn-ons for Luna, and not bad lines at all:
💫“Show me what a good little stepsister you can be for your brother.”
💫“Such a good little sister for your brothers.”

A Goldilocks retelling with daddy bears…. who are step brothers???? Yes! I read this as a short story from Rosa Lee and was hoping she would make into a novel and so happy she did!!! Absolutely loved! And it was rough as heroine is fighting cancer and the boys reaction to it- so much in the feels. And of course the spice was awesome with RH and all the piercings. I can’t even blush anymore that the first time I read about Jacob’s ladder was with book 1, and keeps getting better!

DNF at 29% — and I don’t know how I even lasted that long.

First, this was poorly written and the pacing was all off. It was overly cheesy and cliche in a way that made it feel immature and awkward. And the MMCs had just barely started to torment the FMC when all of a sudden they find out she has cancer, they do a complete 180, then immediately they’re all in love with her? There was no tension or buildup… no development of the relationships with each MMC… nothing that made it feel realistic or earned before it jumped right into cringey “spice” that honestly had my lip curling in disgust. There are so many things I could list that I didn’t like, but it’s unfortunately not even worth my time to do so.

All I’ll say is this…

This book felt like a fetishization of chronic illness/cancer while also coming off extremely immature and unrealistic with unlikable characters. I was extremely disappointed by this book and would not recommend this to anyone.

As always Rosa’s group scenes are spicy and filled with amazing dirty talking. The stepbrothers began as mean bullies but soon realized they didn’t know everything. Luna is a fighter and cancer is the battle she keeps waging. I enjoyed the story and the medical information was close to accurate as possible for a fiction romance novel. I have enjoyed all these dark fairytales and how they sprinkle in the original story at the perfect times.

I’m not normally one to be like wow that got smutty way too fast, but it literally went from plot point to smutty in a couple pages and it was so out of the blue I was confused. Suddenly there were tender pet names that gave her sentimental feelings toward them and she just asked for a group sesh without having kissed or hugged ANY of them. To call this a bully romance is false advertising… there wasn’t enough of a slow burn or even instances of bully for this to even be close to a bully romance. Being snarky because she touched your breakfast doesn’t count it as a bully…

I’m giving it two stars because the writing is actually really nice (though why it’s written like everyone has posh London accents when it says they’re in Connecticut is beyond me). I think she could have given us 100 more pages of build up and I would have devoured it instead of just being thrown off and weirded out.

The turn from hating her to then suddenly being absolutely devoted and in love was wayyy too fast and unrealistic. I hate that I couldn't look past that and that that stopped me from really enjoying the rest of the book.
Although I'm normally a sucker for smut, these scenes had me wishing for them to be over as fast as possible. Especially because these scenes came at the worst times.

This book was so instant I felt, absolutely zero yearning or prior feelings. It was just instant love, like they hated her then bam saying I love you?!? Wasn’t a fan at all. It did keep me hooked tho so that’s a win, but I also cringed a lot.

Overall this was a great book.

This book covered some pretty deep subject matters including cancer from diagnosis and right through the treatment process so definitely check your trigger warnings before reading.

This is a pretty heavy book but I expected that to some degree, my husband was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and went through treatment (which unfortunately wasn’t successful) so I have some very intimate experience with diagnosis, treatment, its side effects and the feelings both his as the person dying and as his pregnant wife with the knowledge that his death was a possible outcome.

I have to say that this author wrote about this topic in a very respectful way and despite the need to also include a darker plot she managed to make it entertaining without dulling the impact of cancer, particularly in a young adult.

This book is about Luna who has struggled with beating cancer for most of her teenage years, as a single Mum/Mom her mother had been struggling to cope with the related medical debt alongside working and managing her daughters illness, when she meets Richard (the Mom) it seems like all her prayers are answered and after a speedy relationship she elopes with her new husband ultimately changing Lunas life forever.
I’ve got to say that while I sympathise with the difficulties faced by Lunas Mother initially, I couldn’t bring myself to like her as a character as her treatment of Luna after meeting Richard was neglectful at best.

What Luna doesn’t know is that not only is she moving into a mansion with her brand new stepfather but the deal also comes with 3 jaw droppingly hot stepbrothers who are identical triplets, that’s right, the holy grail of stepbrother romances. Now these boys don’t particularly want a new sister particularly one who comes along with a gold digger of a mother and so they decide that they simply have to make sure Luna knows just how unwanted she is.

I will say the “bully” aspect of the story doesn’t last long at all and before long they are completely devoted to Luna and caring for her as she goes through her chemo and struggles with the pain and other side effects. There’s plenty more to the story but I won’t give it away so be prepared for emotional ups and downs, betrayal and medical abuse in the worst way, it does however come along with a side of spice and some interesting group activities that had me scratching my head at the logistics of it all.

All in all a great book that was well researched and handled in a respectful manner considering the subject matter, my only critique would be that I’d have liked to have seen Luna interacting with more of her peers (at one point I thought there might be some juicy OWD but alas…) and with her stepbrother’s friends as with her being so young I think it’s an important factor and it would have broken up some of the treatment segments. But regardless I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would happily recommend it.

🌶️ 4.5+/5

I think some readers go into books and expect every little detail to be so realistic… but this is fiction right? So if she drops to her knees after chemo, it’s not going to cause a fictional character real life pain, ijs.

Anyways, I loved this book. One of my most favorite features are the playlists and songs Rosa includes in her books. I personally listened to each one while reading and it made the experience that much more thrilling to me imo. Please keep doing this Rosa. You’re the reason why I listen to music while reading books and it’s something I’ll always cherish.

I love that the bullying wasn’t heavy, the small retelling aspects weren’t overbearing, and the care they provided her. Bathing her? Cute! Planning her treatments and feeding her? Cuuuuuuute.🥰🥰
I understood the transition from bully to straight obsession. I mean the bullying wasn’t heavy and you can tell they cared for her even during the bullying. You can tell they weren’t there to actually hurt her and would gravitate to her, even while being stubborn.

This whole book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It felt like you were experiencing everything Luna was going through. I couldn’t imagine having to live a life with cancer beating down my doors.

The hair cutting scene was too good to not mention. These guys are the best. Yes, they were stubborn in the beginning (I wouldn’t really call it bullying because it was pretty tame) but the devotion they had for Luna was beautiful to read.🥹

I don’t understand why some leave reviews that don’t contain constructive criticism but they choose to just be mean instead. That’s all I’ll say about that. 🤐

Annnnyways, one of my favorite reads this year out of roughly 450 books! Thank you for another incredible read, Rosa.🔥

Some of my favorite things said/stated in the book:

“She tastes like starlight, and I lose myself in her, exploring the galaxy that exists inside her.”

“I would do anything, be anything for you, Star. I would catch the moon and give it to you if you asked.”

“Shaving our heads is nothing, Star.”

“I won’t live in a world without you, Luna. I refuse to.”

There’s more but I didn’t take note of them.

For spice: I counted 11 scenes - most interc0urse. Pretty spicy if you ask me.🤧🔥

Well, that has been one hell of a ride. I have adored getting to explore these characters and watching them grow into the people they are. The book is fast paced but there is so much plot to back it up and, well, the smut is in it’s own league. This story had such an impact and the topic was handled with such care, and with the added bits of banter throughout, it made it easier to absorb without feeling like you are being hit with an emotional tidal wave. Luna is one hell of a strong character that goes through hell and back, but watching her fight and gain this support system that she had never had before, which allowed her to feel this sense of peace because she no longer had to feel the weight of the world alone, was awe-inspiring. The Banks triplets have so many qualities that make them stand out but watching them become so obsessive and protective of her to the point that they are deep within her, was so relieving for me personally because it felt like they were able to find their purpose in life and not was set out for them. Another highly enjoyable read that I definitely recommend.

This is an incredible story of found family, love, and healing. Fractured Constellations is a dark fairytale retelling inspired by goldilocks and the three bears. Only the three bears are gorgeous bully stepbrother triplets.

The story begins with the FMC Luna being diagnosed with cancer again. Suddenly her mother has a husband and they are moving into a huge house. Her mother's new husband had three triplet sons who know nothing about her illness, and she would like to keep it that way. Luna hopes to have a small amount of normalcy by not starting off as the sick girl.

The triplets Chase, Blade, and Thorne come home for college break to find their father's new wife and their newstepsister. They are sure that both are gold diggers and decide to treat them as such. That is until they are asked to pick up their new stepsister from the hospital. From the cancer ward. From that moment on, Luna becomes their entire world. Her battle is now also theirs, and they will do anything to keep her with them forever.

“Show me what a good little stepsister you can be for your stepbrother.”
The story is a fairytale retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears but adult and darkish. We first meet Luna and her mom when she is told that her cancer is back, which sucks. Then our Luna is thrown a curveball finding out her mom married a man she barely knows. Luna soon meets her new stepbrothers Chase, Blade and Thorn who instantly decide she’s a gold digger and they are not going make her life easy. These three become her bullies( and I love a good bully romance). The bully was short lived as these men learned of Luna’s illness and embraced their true feelings for her. I don’t trust the triplets dad and Luna’s mom is acting shady a little bit. We all know Rosa knows how to write spice and she didn’t disappoint. I will say it’s not really spicy but the scenes we got were hot! I mean we had a DVP for the first scene. And baby a hospital didn’t stop no show for them. When I tell you these men were down bad for Luna I mean it. They took care of get every need she didn’t have to want for anything. They made her feel cherished, loved and cared for. You only get one little snippet: one of the triplet read her favorite dark romance books to her when she didn’t have the strength/energy to do it. I mean swoon worthy. Each brother provided Luna with something different and they each showed their love for her in different ways. Now I don’t like to pick favorites( lies lol) but it’s Thorn. And y’all know I love a good nickname and they each had one for her( and vice versa). There was a cute surprise in the book I may have squealed 🤭. This book was different from what I expected but in a good way. It gave readers a glimpse of what someone who deals with a chronic illness endures daily. I really enjoyed it. I’m so happy Luna, Thorn, Chase and Blade got their happily ever after!!!

Somebody Has Been Eating My Porridge 🐻

Did someone say a loose take on Goldilocks and Three Bears except the bears are your hot, pierced, tattooed triplet STEPBROTHERS!!! *faints*

Luna's got a secret she doesn't want to share with her new stepbrothers when she moves into their house but her bully stepbrothers will stop at nothing to uncover anything to make Luna's life more miserable than it already is. But what if that secret changes everything?

💏 Why Choose
😈 Bully
🖤 Stepsiblings
🩺 Medical Romance
☠️ Hurt / Comfort
❤️‍🩹 Trauma Healing

I didn't know what to expect when I opened this book but I'm glad I did. I wasn't expecting the story to rip so many emotions out of me all while lavishing me with the good triplet spice 😆🥵🌶. It's fast-paced and high-emotion for sure with some parts leaving you hanging on the edge of your seat. I kept it together well until the bonus epilogue, then crumbled like a Cadbury's Flake.

Make sure you check the TWs, although it's not a particularly dark book, it will have a much greater effect on some.

I am a huge Rosa Lee fan, so I not only expected to really like this but I wanted to like it. Unfortunately the book is described & marketed as something it is not. If the description was simply that it's a very spicy stepbrother romance with a heavy white knight trope, then it would be 5 stars because it absolutely delivers that.

However, this book is supposed to be bully trope. For those who read a lot of bully trope, this is going to be disappointing. There is no bully arch. The bullying that occurs is so mild and surface level. It only lasts for 3-4 scenes and it doesn't leave enough of an impression to be a bully romance. Then there's no redemption arch, there's some verbal apologies, but they have a foursome immediately after deciding not bully anymore. They go immediately from "bully" to full relationship status with no redemption arch in between. Even in the mmc's POV there's no lengthy tortured soul ideation, feeling remorseful about their behavior, it's just immediately "Mine! Ours!"

So if you're a fan of Rosa Lee and her instalust & fast burn writing and you don't expect the bully trope to deliver than you might find this satisfying.

But because I'm a fan I was even more disappointed. I was excited by the concept of Lee writing a bully romance, figuring out how that could fit with instalust, stretching her style and habits into something new. I thought this was going to be a growth moment. But that is not what happened.

I know we as readers shouldn't expect anything different from authors, it's not their job to deliver exactly what we want, but it's also not our responsibility as readers to just stay as permanent fans just because. As a reader I find that when an author gives the same concepts, tropes, and delivery of themes over and over I end up drifting away as a reader. And I think that's what's happening for me here. I accept now that I can only go to Rosa Lee to scratch one particular itch, and that's ok. The next time I have that instalust & instalove itch I will see what's new in her catalog.

I don't believe that there will ever come a time when I will not read and love a book that Rosa produces. This one was no different. I think this is the first time that Rosa has made me cry a ton, pretty much the whole way through.

This book focuses on a rather tough subject for all our characters involved and it is best to check your own limits and triggers before reading as we follow through the process of Luna discovering she has cancer again for the third time and all the way through her treatment, it is definitely not for the light-hearted at all.

Of course, with each Rosa book, we have a forbiddenness theme to it, and this book certainly brought that trope after Luna's mother marries a rather rich man whose company is focused on finding treatment and cures for cancer and he comes with three shockingly hot triplet sons. I really enjoyed the element of this book intertwined with the story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears".

I have to say that I did not enjoy the part where the three step-brothers, Chase, Blade and Thorn took the label of bully towards Luna and quite frankly killed any self confidence and chance of happiness that she was feeling at that time, only to then discover that she had cancer and their whole behaviour to be flipped on its head in a matter of seconds as that is what their mother died from.

After the bumpy start between all the characters, we can start to see bonds forming between them as they help Luna through tough times in treatments and low moods. So many of their thoughtful actions made me cry a little each time, other than when all of the spice was occurring throughout this book, I swear it never stopped and nor did I want it to stop but neither did Luna clearly.

The book is finished off amazingly in my perspective and Rosa seriously gets bonus points for bringing in one of the fivesomes from the first series of hers that I ever read, it was like everything had come full circle and I would so very much love to see Luna and her men in the future also.

TRIPLETS!!!! 😍🥵 Nothing like a spicy step siblings romance with triplets! This story was full of spice, tension, and waiting for the other shoe to drop. I had so much anxiety wondering if it would be HEA or if a plot twist would happen at the last second. I felt all the feelings in this one.

3.75⭐️

TROPES:
-Why choose?
-Soft-bullying (minimal and super light)
-Pierced 🍆
-They look after her
-Step-sibling kink (only known each other a few weeks)
-Praise/dirty talk kink
-🌶🌶🌶🌶 Foursomes

I am not usually one for the 'why choose' trope, but something about this book description caught me, so I decided to give it a go.

The story centres around Luna's battle with cancer, and it is intense, so please be aware of this. Most people know someone who has had cancer, or they have had it themselves, so it could hit close to home. As the author has had first hand experience, she brought a level of detail and heartbreaking reality to the page.

THE PROS:
I was suprised that I actually liked the dynamic in this realtionship! I think the fact that the MMCs are triplets helped me accept it. It was like one person split into three different personalities. 😆 Blade was my brooding main man, but I adored Thorn's goofy humor and Chase's take-charge energy. The intensity of their adoration, devotion, and passion for Luna was seriously off the charts.

If you are looking for a 'he takes care of her' trope, this is definately the one for you. It hit all the right buttons and gave all the feels!

THE CONS:
The jump from 'resentful soft-bullying', to 'you are my everything', seemed to happen out of nowhere. I would have liked to see them fighting a little underlying desire to give the jump to OTT protectiveness/posessiveness more credibility. There was a time jump of a few weeks and I needed to see more of that time, I think.

The Three Little Pigs retelling was clever, and I absolutely loved the idea, but in the beginning, the delivery was a tad too obvious and literal for my liking. Not a major issue.

This isn't a CON of the story, but Luna's mother. . . omg, how could the triplets not call her out earlier for being so. . . uugh, I just wanted to smack her and say "WTAF!"

I enjoyed this read; it was my first by this author. I might go back and read the earlier books in this series as some characters made an appearance at the end of this book.

I love a good retelling and the nods to the Goldilocks and the Three Bears story are all present and accounted for. There were elements I liked (Thorn's dad jokes were a highlight) and the medical parts of the story are dealt with sensitively and not glossed over. There was no magic fix for Luna and we see various stages of her journey with support from the triplets; there are some really brutal moments between the four which will break your heart and make it an emotional read.

Luna felt like a really rounded character however I found the triplets a little hard to connect with. For me, this was largely due to the leap from enemies to lovers happening as a complete 180 all at once rather than seeing the connection unfold on page and relationships develop between the characters individually. After the blurb I felt the bullying would also be a bigger part of the narrative; there are a couple of incidents which started off pretty strong but it fizzled out by the 20% mark (I really wanted to find out how Rachel was dealt with though) so I didn't feel the impact of the triplets finding out about Luna hit as hard for me. I found the timeline a little confusing too as Blade mentions they have made Luna's life hell for the past few weeks but it seemed like only a few days had passed from the boys coming home, to the party when Richard and Lorelei were away, to the chemo appointment.

I enjoyed the twists outwith Luna's treatment as it explained some of the actions of a certain character which I had been wrestling with. If you are looking for an angsty fast paced read which will hit you with some gut punches, you'll love this.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Rosa Lee has done it again—and honestly, she can do no wrong! I came for the forbidden stepbrother triplets and the dark fairytale vibes, but I stayed for the most intense, tear-jerking, and utterly consuming story of the year. Seriously, I cried SO HARD at this book.

Fractured Constellation is a hauntingly beautiful, dark Goldilocks retelling where Luna moves in with her new stepfamily and is immediately targeted by the three stunning, tatted triplets: Blade, Thorn, and Chase. At first, they are absolute asshats, convinced she and her mother are gold diggers. But when the truth about Luna’s painful reality is revealed —the book does a lightning-fast, jaw-dropping flip.

Watching these three men shift from bullies to fiercely possessive protectors had my heart pounding. They are instantly obsessed, attentive, and fully committed to giving Luna everything she needs—especially when she’s struggling. The way Rosa Lee blends the darkness of the bully trope with the raw, emotional weight of Luna’s illness is genius. She doesn't just use the illness as a device; she shows the quiet heartbreak, the struggle, and the strength it takes to keep fighting. It’s an authentic journey that will break and heal your heart all at once.

And because this is a Rosa Lee book, you know the spice is absolutely SLAPPING! The chemistry with her three devoted men is off the charts, the dirty talk is immaculate, and the steam is perfectly timed with the emotional intensity. (Moonbeam will forever be my favorite nickname, by the way!)

If you love a super-spicy MFMM Why Choose romance with a forbidden stepbrother trope, a fast-burn redemption arc, and fiercely loyal heroes who will literally fight death for their girl, drop everything and read this! It consumed me, and I didn't want it to end.

I usually absolutely love Rosa’s books, but this one was hard to get into mostly because you have a girl who is literally dying but no matter how sick, weak, and drugged up or where she is, her lovers still think it’s absolutely okay to screw her brains out. Like the hospital’s cancer ward? Really?? And in the middle of treatment? Like it became absurd to the point I was literally skipping smut scenes to get to actual plot points. I will say, I was super happy and surprised to see the Black Knights show up.

Also, as someone who has lost people to cancer, and has a loved one recently (like as in during my reading of this book) diagnosed, when someone is having chemotherapy done, you aren’t supposed to even touch their bodily fluids (especially right after) without gloves or protection like condoms because the chemo drug can be present in it, and the boys were crazy obsessive over every detail, they all have these fancy biomed degrees, they’re supposed to be in charge of a medical company, and yet, all 3 of them were like F this, let me get sick, and/or expose myself to reproduction issues and an increased risk of getting cancer myself. Like with how intense these boys were, they would never, ever risk any of that, and yet, for the entirety of the book, that’s exactly what happens.

I mean, other mistakes: grammar and spelling issues, like the bonus chapter having agin instead of again are throughout the book, the fact that this takes place in America, with American characters, but they call the trunk of the car the boot, which isn’t the American term for it. I did get an ARC copy though, so some of these may have been fixed and edited for the released copy (minus the bonus chapter).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review. All opinions are my own.

Three forbidden stepbrothers. One girl with a ticking clock. When stars collide, entire galaxies burn.

I cried so hard at this book. SO HARD. As always, I love Rosa Lee’s books; she can do no wrong. I am so obsessed with her, why choose dark fairytales. She also writes some of my favorite Why Choose books ever, and this has to be one of them. I adore the triplets. I love that it starts as a bully romance, but very quickly flips to them being the most caring people ever. I love them, and they all just have my heart and soul. I also adore Luna; considering how much she deals with in this book, she is truly amazing. There are portions of this book with Luna’s cancer journey that absolutely broke my heart, but seeing the way Chase, Blade, and Thorn support her is so heartwarming. I've been obsessed with this book since it was a short story in the Beautiful Poison collection, and I'm thrilled it's now a full novel. Not to mention the nicknames the triplets give her are amazing; however, Moonbeam will always and forever be my favorite. As always with Rosa Lee, the spice is spicing in this book; they absolutely slap, and the dirty talk is immaculate.

PS, the cameos slapped, and I was SO EXCITED about them.

OMG GET YOU TISSUES READY FOR THIS ONE AS YOU WILL BE BALLING YOUR EYES OUT 😭
As this book is HEAVILY focused on the big C
so do be aware of that if that is a sensitive topic. Although a sad heartbreaking journey it is a beautiful journey also along the way.

When Luna the FMC discovers her cancer is back agian and that her mother has married a rich man who also has triplet sons who are jerks to her when they first meet her cause they think her & her mom are gold diggers she believes this time around with her cancer will be worse than ever until the triplets discover the true reason of why she's there & then EVERYTHING changes & they become her knights in shining armor in EVERY WAY IMAGINABLE & hating themselves & making sure to make to make it up to her for how they treated her in the beginning by taking care of ALL of her care, making plans for her care, her treatment plans, being with her the whole time during her treatments, DURING EVERYTHING, holding her hand, hair, spirit, heart, JUST HOLDING HER THROUGH IT ALL so much so that they make up for the beginning ten fold & more. I love how each gave her a special nickname. Blade, Thorn & Chase are three of the most wonderful men ever & I just fell in love with them so much & the way Rosa wrote the story you can feel everything within and that’s why I LOVE IT that I forgot I was reading a book. They way Luna became their galaxy is beautiful. I definitely highly recommend this book.
