Viernes has been defeated and only the Fire Dragon God, Ignia, remains. Natsu and his friends begin to search for the whereabouts of Ignia, only to find that he's actually the leader of a dark guild called Fire & Flame. And rather than having to find Fire & Flame, members of the dark guild come searching for Natsu at Ignia's behest. The Fire Dragon God has a plan for an ominous festival and he'd like Natsu to join!

Hiro Mashima (Jap: 真島ヒロ) is a Japanese manga artist.

He gained success with his first serial Rave, published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. His best-selling work, Fairy Tail, published in the same magazine from 2006 to 2017, became one of the best-selling manga series with over 72 million copies in print. Mashima began the currently ongoing Edens Zero in 2018.

Fairy Tail won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga in 2009, and Mashima was given the Harvey Awards International Spotlight award in 2017 and the Fauve Special Award at the 2018 Angoulême International Comics Festival.

As the new arc is introduced, the volume allows space for some extra chapters about characters we don't really see anymore. Though the chapters weren't incredible per say, I loved seeing more of Eric and Kinana, and Ichiya and Anna. It really made me nostalgic, and closed off their respective character arcs in a really nice way.

We also get the most conclusive chapter in Jellal’s development. I already talked about it times and times again, but he's one of my favorite characters (right behind Natsu), and seeing how much he developed makes me so emotional. I can't wait to see him becoming finally part of Fairy Tail.

This new arc barely began in the latest chapters, but it’s already so promising. I absolutely loved to see more fire wizards, and I feel like this arc will be focused on Natsu’s character development. I love him so much, but he’s become so strong he’s never ever challenged in a fight anymore. I’m excited to see him confronting people with people similar to his.
