Being stranded in L.A. wasn’t the best start to Jared Jackson’s music career. Especially when he’s collected from the airport by the band manager’s niece.
Skylar Murphy is a sharp-tongued, take charge kind of girl. She knows what she wants and she's not afraid to speak her mind. Jared can't help but be drawn to her even though he's been warned that she's off limits.
Just when things are starting to hit their groove, Jared’s dream plays its end note and spirals him into a life of secrets and lies. In one swift moment his life is forever changed, sweeping him, and those around him, into a dangerous life.
One he wasn’t prepared for… and one he cannot escape from.
Can Jared learn to let go of the future he'd dreamed of for so long in order to protect those he loves, or will his new circumstances be his undoing?

When I started this series, I really fell in love with these 7 really great characters, it was such a great and sweet story, 6 guys and 1 girl best friends since middle school now graduating and heading off in their own direction starting the next chapter. I loved seeing Riley and Ace come together and after being left hanging about Ace in the first book, I couldn't wait to find out what happen but also get Jared's story.
My first issue with this book has partly to do with the first book, it ended with a CH and said to be continued, so when I pick up this one I expect to pick up where we left off, NOPE WRONG, we pick up pretty much at the beginning, when Jared is flying out to LA to hook up with his new band and I now must read through his whole story before I find out what is happening.
My second issue with this book is that this one and book one take place over the same time span which is not an issue, I don't mind it if there aren't any inconsistencies and the time line things take place in the first one doesn't match with the time line with this one and that really irked me.
My third issue, the major turn the storyline took. What I was expecting from this book, after reading the first one and reading the synopsis for this one, was no where near what I actually got. THe whole Jared's parents are some type of spy and he gets taken hostage and tortured for months was so far fetched and completely came out of no where, that I contemplated DNF'ing this book several times, instead I ending up skimming it, A LOT.
Overall, for me, this book started out great, with the exception of it not picking up where we left off in book 1, I already loved Jared and really liked Murphy's character and how slowly she warmed up to Jared and their relationship developed. But sadly this book took a turn for the worse and no longer became a book I was enjoying. I know a synopsis is basically a quick blurb of what the book is about, and I know some people like going in blind, not me, I would have much preferred to be a bit warned of what to expect, cause I was expecting a nice sweet story, not some spy action story, and it's really left a sour taste with me to the point that sadly I will be thinking twice before reading anymore of this author's work.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Book one in this series had me in an emotional turmoil. Book two-not so much. The 1st half of the book is about Jared learning the life of a rock star and figuring out his feelings for Murphy. After something horrible happens on the tour, the book starts to pick up. It slowly started sucking me in, but then it gets kind of weird. The book takes a huge left turn yanking me out of my comfortable bliss. Even now I am trying to wrap my head around it. I can't really say anything without giving anything away, but just realize that more pieces to the puzzle start to come together. It will be interesting to see what happens in book three and see how it adds another layer of understanding to the series.
This time round its Jared's turn for a HEA following him to LA to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician. Traveling the country with his bandmates ... an awesome bunch... then of course there's Murphy who he forms an instant attraction too... But things are not what they seem with danger lurking in the shadows and Jareds world is turned upside down. Not your average romance, its got suspense and intrigue that captivates you.
Holy Crap! I totally did not see the story taking this direction. I loved the first story so much. I loved this one just as much, but for completely different reasons. Ms. Loveday does a fantastic job of making the characters and relationships feel real. I am so happy I found this series after it was completed so I can binge read the rest of it.
LOVED THIS BOOK. Murphy is my favorite character of all time. She is so strong and Jared is so kind and helpful. The theme of the FBI type company underneath really seals the deal for me and makes me love it so much more. Highly recommended
5 HUGE stars|Goodreads|Amazon I was lucky enough to beta read this novel and then have the opportunity of reading it once it was finished. This novel blew me away. Sonya's writing is a force to be reckoned with. Her hilarious dialogue and expertly developed characters find a spot in your heart. You don't want to miss this series.
Murphy is such an absolute riot. I couldn't get enough of her from the very start. I was a little peeved that we jumped to Jared in this novel, but it all worked itself out. This is how the story was meant to be told. This was the path it needed, and trust me, you NEED this story to get the rest of where we left off.
Ok, back to Murphy. From the very start I wanted to know her background. I wanted to know how she got the way she is and why she was there. I had to trust in Jared to get me this information. We jump in with Jared meeting with his band for the first time. I was hooked. Jared worked his way into my heart and will stay there.
Jared has some things going on in his life that we really have no idea about at this point. He is just as in the dark as we are. Maybe even more so. His life may seem easy on the outside, but it has its darkness, just as everyone else has.
This novel gives you a lot more about the Six. With The Summer I fell, we really had a broad picture of them, and with this novel we start to get to know them all a little more. Bit by bit things are revealed about them and you start to really understand how things are going to start to intertwine. By the end of this novel I was twisted up and enthralled with these characters and where the story was hooked.
I had no idea where it was going, but in the end it all work out and made total sense. I am definitely HOOKED on this series. Sonya has weaved a world around me that I don't want to escape. Dive into this novel and fall in love with Jared and Murphy. I sure did. Synopsis: Being stranded in L.A. wasn’t the best start to Jared Jackson’s music career. In fact, it should have been the forewarning that things were not what he thought they’d be. Especially when he’s collected from the airport by the band manager’s sharp-tongued niece. The draw for Jared is immediate. In his heart, he knows Skylar Murphy is the girl for him. Proving it to her, however, is a whole other story. As new friendships are forged with his bandmates, Jared learns that the guys are planning to start their own band, effectively severing their band manager’s control. With his future in peril, Jared’s dream spirals in a tailspin as secrets and lies sweep him into a dangerous life. One he wasn’t prepared for… and one he can no longer escape from. Will Jared rise above the destruction or will his new circumstances be his undoing? Find out in the next installment of The Six Series, End Note, a new-adult romance. Are you ready to get sixed?
I loved the first book in this series, so I was really excited to read this book, even though I knew that it was going to be about different characters, one of whom appeared in the first book! I then got an email about a Blog Tour for this book, and I quickly signed up to review it! I was so excited to read it! This book was freaking amazing! It had me hooked from the first page and I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading it! I also read it super fast lol, and in only two sittings! I just loved it and it definitely exceeded my high expectations! The plot was amazing! I thought that it was going to be a straightforward rock band book, but then it started to completely change direction and the author added her own spin on the plot! I loved this because I didn't see it coming at all! It was quite unexpected, but it was so good! There were also plenty of twist and turns in the plot and some hot scenes too! There was also plenty of suspense too! I just loved everything about the plot and I loved that joined together well to create an amazing plot! The characters were just as amazing as the plot! Jared was the main character, and he was seriously hot! He had also been kept in the dark a lot in his life, and he found out a lot of secrets in this book! I did feel really sorry for him that a lot of things were hidden from him, but in a way I could understand why his parents kept secrets from him! They did it to protect him and to keep him safe! Jared was such an amazing guy though! He really impressed me! I loved how protective he was of his love interest too, and I could see that he had deep feelings for her! Skylar 'Murphy' was the love interest of Jared and she was so fierce at the beginning of this book! She didn't let anything stop her lol! She started to come out of her shell as this book progressed though, and she let Jared see Skylar and not Murphy! Murphy had also been through a traumatic experience and then she went through another traumatic experience in this book! I felt so sorry for her because I loved Murphy and I wanted her to be happy and safe! I just absolutely loved her! I loved that her feelings for Jared developed over time and that they didn't start something straightaway and that she thought about a relationship with him before she started one! It was definitely the right way to go! I was kinda expecting this book to be written from both Jared and Murphy's point of views, but it was actually only written from Jared's! I normally don't like books written from only a guy's point of view, but I enjoyed reading this book from only Jared's! I would have loved maybe a few chapters from Murphy's point of view though as she was quite a pivotal character! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm not sure if it's going to continue Jared and Murphy's story, but I think it is after the ending of this book! I'll definitely be reading it as soon as it releases! The cover for this book is stunning! It suits the book perfectly and I love how well it suits the cover for the first book too! Big thank you to Sonya for a copy of End Note and to Racine's PA Services for having me on the Blog Tour!
In book 1 of The Six Series, we met the six and followed Riley and Ace's love story. This book actually overlaps chronologically with book 1, and we get a different POV of any interactions Riley had with Jared, which I sort of liked. With that said, this is Jared's story. We are with him while he follows his dream of being a musician. We get to meet his bandmates, who are quite an interesting group of characters. I found them very amusing and loved reading about Jared and his bandmates interactions. We also meet Murphy. She is their sort-of-manager and a little spitfire, and also a lot of fun to read about. About halfway through the book, we catch up with some of the six (Aiden, Ace), but things are not what they seem. This book is not a simple love story or tale of friendship, and that is what I didn't expect, but I still enjoyed it.
I actually liked getting to know Jared better. I always thought he was the tender heart of the group and my suspicions were confirmed with everything he did in this book. Things got really tense, and then not so tense, but there is a lot left up in the air.
After I read the first in The Six Series like everyone else I was dying to know what happened to Ace. Unfortunately I took me 16 months to get around to reading this book and I regret every day of that.
This book follows Jared after The Six go their separate ways at the end of the Summer. Jared thought he was going to be living his dream, on the road with Destroying Doubt. What life turned out to be was quite different.
The first half of this book was great. We followed Jared and the band and watched him falling in love with Murphy. Then it all got a bit weird.
I had been hanging on to get to where we left off in the first book and we get there but not u until after some unusual going's on. This took me right out of my comfort zone. It wasn't at all what I expected. However I did enjoy it. I was racing through page after page to find out what would happen next.
As soon as I finished I started the next book and I can't wait for the next one in the series.
End Note is the second book in The Six Series by Sonya Loveday. When I started this book it was nothing like I expected. I absolutely fell in love with book one and the characters and this one just fell short for me. I think I was so wrapped up with the cliffhanger from book one that I just couldn't get into this book like I would have liked. I think I would have loved the storyline and characters so much more if we wouldn't have had to wait til the end of this book to figure out what happend to Ace. I also felt like this book was all over the place with the storyline. Hopefully now that alot of the drama has been solved Sonya will get back into The Six Series and give us a book similar to The Summer I Fell.
5 Stars I loved the first book in this series and I had high expectations for this book. I was NOT disappointed. End Note was so much better than I ever could have hoped for. I absolutely love Murphy and actually found myself laughing out loud, more than once, in reaction to things that she said. And Jared does not disappoint. He might want to be a bad boy rock star, but he’s really just one hell of a sweet guy.
There are quite a few twists and turns in this book and it will take you places that you never expected to go. I don’t know how Sonya Loveday does it, but she managed to make me fall in love with her six series all over again.
I loved the first book, even when I cried like a baby at the end! This book went way off in Another direction and the only thing I truly was looking forward to was finding out what happened to Ace! There was to much overlapping, reading what was going on with Jared while the events in the first book kind of threw off the series! I am hoping the next book is not like this where we see what the next six boy was doing at the same time these events were going on. It would be to much! I did like this book, just was not what I was expecting! I do think we need to see how Riley and Aces story goes! Not in another person point of view but with them in another book!
Let me just say I have really enjoyed all of Sonya's prior books. This one did leave me feeling as though there was a bit too much of a reach going on here. I enjoyed the characters and the interactions. The parents mysterious job and actions just were a bit much. Teenagers do have a more relaxed attitude to changes happening to them but the ease of acceptance to some of the circumstances had me shaking my head. We did get some insight to what happens with some of our beloved 6 from the first book and got a glimpse of what they have going on. I will keep reading to see where it goes from here.
I'm still reeling over everything that happened in this book! What a way to follow The summer I fell! Jared was one of my favorite characters out of the six, I like his asshole, smartass attitude and how no matter what, was always there for the "seven". Getting to follow him and his band, his relationship as it built with Murphy and all the obstacles that followed was both intoxicating and had me on the edge of my seat. Without spoiling ... things are way more than what they seem and Jared finds that out the hard way. This book was amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read passion as well as action!
Oh my goodness she seriously blows my mind. I was skeptical going into this one because it was Jarod's story and I knew it didn't pick up where book 1 left off... And I was initially pissed.. Seriously mad!! But she is a genius. Seriously. Read this book and watch her bring it all together like magic. It's totally different than I expected and there was more to to book than the 1st. More happens and it's a great read. I don't want to give anything away but this book was so unpredictable and kept me on my toes at every turn!!
Well that took a left turn from the story line and tone of the first book. I didn't expect it and it made it hard for me to finish this book.. It took me a few weeks of reading a few chapters and then putting the book down to do something else or falling asleep.. I usually finish a book in a day or two.. It wasn't bad but I had to force myself to finish it today so I could go onto another book.. Not sure if I will read other stories but if the next book..
In the beginning I didn't think I'd like Jared's story. I was so wrong. Jared's point of view was different since Riley was the POV in the first book and I loved it. I'm beyond happy that the connection between the two books were made because I would've been heated had Sonya Loveday not brought Ace and Riley back. Cannot wait for the third book. PLEASE HURRY!
I wish I could give 4.5 stars. The only thing that keeps me from wanting it to be a full 5, is it took just a little over half of the book to pick up where book 1 cliffhanger ended. Other than that, this is quickly becoming my new favorite series!
I really enjoyed the first half....then the story took a weird turn (I liked it just no real answers). Still unclear of the plot....will read the next in the series to see where author is going with the story.
The Six Series is one of the greatest series I've read so far. The surprises in the plot are amazing and unexpected. The love story for Jared fit perfectly and the result of Riley and Aces story brought tears. I cannot wait to continue with the story with the Six family.
The first book in this series was amazing. This one was good and I was to be able to find out what happened to Ace but this book was not my cup of tea. I read it to get the information I wanted about Ace and Riley but I'm not sure that I will read the next one.
DNF--Not at all what I expected. I really liked the first book and all of the characters but this book went too far off course for me. Didn't really care for the whole, my parents are spies, I was kidnapped,......disappointed. Just not for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Had a total WTF moment at the end of the first book but now glad it all came together. Just wish the beginning of the book wasn't so drawn out and we got more of an end story or epilogue don't think I'll continue reading this series I've had enough...
This series is so confusing the first one was good so I thought they would continue Riley and ace story but NO I think if the author continue Riley's story then she could have talk about Jared in the third book
