In this picture book, as Dad tucks his daughter into bed, he tells her fantastically imaginative stories about the keys on his key ring and what they unlock – from a zippenburger that takes him to work, to a rocket to collect space noodles, a treasure box in the jungle, a chocolate biscuit factory where he taste tests all the biscuits, and a paddock where he rides a woolly mammoth that only eats yellow food.

About the author

Sacha is a children's writer based in Wellington, New Zealand.

She is the author of picture books Keys, Ngā Kī, The Marble Maker, and Te Kaihanga Māpere.

Her third picture book with HUIA Publishers, The Bomb, will be released later in 2018.

Sacha is also involved in writing for The Kiddets, an animated children’s television show produced by Pukeko Pictures.

Before publishing her first book Keys, Sacha gained an arts degree and a teaching diploma. Whilst living in Valencia, Spain, Sacha completed several short film courses. During this time her short script 'Wasabi Peas' was a semi-finalist at the 2013 L.A Comedy Shorts Festival.

Since returning to New Zealand Sacha has completed the Writing for Children Workshop and the Television Master Class with the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University. She has also participated in a writing workshop under the tutelage of Kate de Goldi.

Thank you Sourcebook Kids and NetGalley for the ARC of this wholesome children's book!

This story is the perfect bedtime story for little ones. The father tells his daughter about many of his work keys and the strange and unique places the keys unlock.

There is a lot of details to look at while reading through, all of which are very unique and can make the reader laugh.

I read this to both my daughters (age 6 and 11). My youngest had a lot of good laughs while my oldest said it was very wholesome and a great read for children.

The story has a good amount of writing to it, making it the perfect story for putting kids to bed with. I will be recommending it to my friends and family!

This is such a quality picture book with a superb mix between real-life and imagination. The rhyming phrases and alliteration make it a joy to read and my kids really enjoyed spotting the cat on each page. Highly recommended for 3 to 7 year-olds.
