7/14/25 tbh I don't remember that much about this book - like there wasn't so much wife chasing crematorium as shameless ML who literally says "well I changed my mind." ... not really much wooing. Also it was annoying how much FL listened to her grandmother(?) ... great grandmother? ... like I really don't remember the connection since obviously her mom ... was ... a cousin? to the "grandmother's" son? ... like ... she definitely had an older son, who thought he might be FL's dad... so there's NO WAY FL's mom was his sister - plus the whole different surnames too. Whatever, don't even care that much. Like the lady was mostly good to her, but she was definitely second to the family status. Also FL overly listened to her grandmother like she kept thinking "oh my grandmother makes good choices" but EVERYTHING - LITERALLY EVERYTHING - pointed otherwise.
ML's older brother was overly chill about the situation too, and the insanely abusive dad like everyone was just ok with him beating ML - so much so that his back was covered in scars just what in the actual fucking fuck you fucking people. And the grandmother beating him heavily too.
