Fantastic story about healing and learning to stand in your own.
I loved this book. Margot is the kind of character you want to shelter and protect, yet encourage and push because you know she's capable of SO MUCH more than she allows herself to believe.
Growing up going from foster home to foster home isn't the idyllic childhood. As soon as she was of age, she packed her meager belongings and hit the road. She meets Maddy, another lost soul and the two become friends and roommates. Then she meets Josh. He's a nice guy from the right side of town and finally Margot feels like she belongs. Like she's found someone she can share her past with.
Then she meets Derrick. And Justin. And an entire roller derby team of bad ass women who couldn't be any nicer if they tried. She finally realizes that she's in a dead end relationship with a jerk, and her so-called best friend isn't really her friend at all.
Margot's story is so fantastic. You watch her grow, become stronger and happier. She's no longer just existing, but she actually begins to live. She tries new things, goes outside of her comfort zone, and you find yourself cheering her on. Derrick and Justin are two amazing, hot guys and both like Margot, but she only has eyes for one. They both help her, in different ways, and she considers both of them friends.
This book is very different from Danielle's Private Series, and it's equally as good. I'm very excited to read more from her. I'm a life long fan!
