I have to say, when someone says that they have a copy of their book in their car, I'm never sure whether it will be well written or even interesting. I was pleasantly surprised. This story was really interesting and I have heard a lot about the fight to vote for women, but not from the point of view of some of the people that participated. I liked that it went back and forth from the past to the present and the characters were interesting. I hear there is a sequel, so I hope we find out if Frankie's landlady's husband got home safely. I enjoyed this book.
I’ve really enjoyed the Kate Quinn stories about the important roles women played during World War II, but haven’t yet seen any stories about Canadian women in either of the world wars. No Secrets Among Sisters is a welcome and enjoyable addition to this genre. I loved the characters in both timelines, the friendships and relationships and the historical setting in Toronto during WWI. I learned a bit about the suffragettes as well. Highly recommended read!
A compelling story of interesting women from the past and the present. Amy’s book captured my attention from the first page and I delighted my way through the whole thing. Bring on book #2!! No Secrets Among Sisters makes a wonderful book for book clubs. Not too long, an easy read, but with twists and turns that make you want to talk to someone when it’s done. Love this novel!
This book makes Canadian history come alive with its touching story of 2 sets of sisters during the first world war when Suffragettes were trying to get the vote. Based on the memoir of the author's aunt, the story has suspense and well defined characters.
this is the author's first work and it is incredible how well it is written. being local to the area it was such a unique and fun read and love the jumps in the timeline. a fun read!
