Violet Hatch needs to snag the hottest toy of the season—it’s the key to making rent this month. Unfortunately, Dax Peters is just as desperate.
When they’re caught fighting over the last GigaBite and a store window gets broken, they’re both arrested for vandalism. Ordered by a Christmas-loving judge to do twenty community service hours by Christmas Eve or go to jail, they opt to serve. But there’s one they must work together.
Violet is all about collaboration—with a side of payback—and Dax never backs down from a challenge.
As their prank war escalates, so do their feelings for each other. But he’s a terrible distraction, and she’s in the way of a big office with a view. With a hefty fine looming, and jail time she can’t serve, Violet must focus on what really matters. It’s not Dax. It can’t be Dax.
Because if they go from MistleFoe to Mistletoe, who wins?

What a fun, laugh out loud until you’re crying, heartwarming, could be a Christmas Hallmark movie, story!!!
Oh my gosh, you guys! This is a story I needed in my life right now and will plan on reading frequently!!
“Mental note: when we aren’t trying to kill each other, make Violet laugh as much as possible.”
One goal-obtain the GigaBite. The toy of the season that every kid wants.
When Violet channeled her inner Muhammad Ali, and ran through a crowd of Black Friday shoppers to obtain the goal, the last thing she expected was to be sitting on a curb waiting to go to jail for vandalism. Dax is determined to get the big promotion at work. His boss’s kid wants the GigaBite-who ever gets the toy gets the job. Easy enough! Wrong….he ends up sitting handcuffed, next to the woman who plowed into him and caused the toy to go launching into the store’s window, and shattering it. The judge's ruling: community service. But wait, there's more! The hours must be completed together AND be done by Christmas Eve….Dax and Violet are in for a hilarious, tension filled, wittiest of conversations, and heartwarming encounters. What started off as a fight to the death over a toy, may just lead them both to realize what truly matters 🤍
“You deserve good things in your life, Vi. And just because your past was full of difficulties, that doesn’t mean your future has to be.”
I have found a new favorite author!! I absolutely cannot get enough of Noelle’s writing! This book is one to read whether it’s July, Christmas time, or a random Tuesday!
Things I loved: The meet-brawl (meet-hate but so much worse🤣) The judge Text conversations Nativity scene 🫏 Dax’s nickname for Violet Violet’s love of fashion The very clear imagery-it’s like I was watching a movie 😂 Ice-skating The first kiss 🧤 Dax’s family The banter 🔥 Clarence 🥹 All the movie references-trust me! They are epic! And so much more!!
“Even the greatest accomplishments are hollow when you don’t have anyone by your side to share them with.”
Thank you to the author for my gifted copy. All thoughts are my own.
The meet cute in MistleFoe was anything but cute—and that’s what made it so fun! Violet wants so badly to hate Dax, but he keeps breaking down her walls in the sweetest ways. The pranks and banter between them are top notch and had me grinning the whole time.
Violet’s moments of self-doubt really tugged at my heartstrings, but Dax’s constant encouragement and love were exactly what she needed. Add in a charming found family and a delightfully pleasant side character like Clarence, and it’s everything I love in a holiday romance.
Truthfully, my expectations were greatly exceeded, and I’ll be recommending this book to everyone—especially for cozy holiday reading! 🎄❤️
MistleFoe is the first story I’ve read by Noelle Davenport, and I loved it! I was laughing out loud and smiling throughout but it also had a lot of heart!
Violet and Dax are hyper focused on getting the hottest toy of the holiday season when she ends up tackling him to the ground and they both end up in the back of a police car. They can’t stand each other and what’s worse, the judge rules that they do community service … together!
As they try to sabotage each other during their community service, they can’t help realize what really matters in life and start seeing each other for who they really are.
Violet has a very heartbreaking past and has built up walls around her - she doesn’t let anyone in. She doing what she can to follow her dreams and better her life. I admired her creativity and passion for fashion and my heart went out to the her for the things she had dealt with growing up. Dax seems to have it all, and I adored that he has a soft spot for Violet from the beginning. He wants to hate her but just can’t stop helping her and wanting to be near her. He’s a true gentleman who chips away at her walls and I loved him for it. These two have some of the funniest texts and banter. I felt for what they were going through individual and the encouragement they gave each other. I also loved their flirting and comical mishaps! MistleFoe is a delightful Christmas romance that will make you laugh and warm your heart!
My favorite things: - Their texts! - He just can’t stop taking care of her - The live nativity - The piano lesson - The first kiss! - Dax’s family - Clarence and Judge Nicholas - The spices!
Tropes: - Christmas romcom - Enemies to lovers - Hilarious flirting - Comical mishaps - He falls first - He takes care of her - Found family - Swoony kisses
This was my first book by Noelle Davenport, and it definitely won’t be my last—I’m officially a new fan! From the very first chapter, I was hooked. MistleFoe had me laughing out loud one moment and tearing up the next, because I could truly relate to the main character’s struggles and heart.
If you enjoy closed-door romance, witty banter, and a slow-burn rivals-to-lovers story, this book will be right up your alley. Noelle captures that perfect balance of playful tension and heartfelt vulnerability, and she does it in a way that feels effortless. The text message exchanges between the characters were some of my favorite parts—they added so much charm and humor, and made the relationship feel even more authentic.
I also loved that the story is told in dual POV. Getting inside both characters’ heads gave the romance extra depth, especially as their feelings started to shift. And the ending? Absolutely adorable—like something straight out of a Hallmark holiday movie, but with even more heart.
Noelle’s writing style is fresh, engaging, and so easy to fall into. MistleFoe was such a cozy, feel-good read that still carried emotional weight. I’ll definitely be recommending it to all my friends this holiday season.
This book is absolutely delightful—packed with sharp wit, humor, and heartfelt moments. I couldn't put it down! I found myself laughing out loud, smiling, cheering, and even tearing up at times.
The story kicks off with Violet and Dax in a hilariously chaotic encounter—Violet tackling Dax to the ground, culminating in both of them ending up in the back of a police car. Talk about a memorable meet-cute! To make things even more interesting, they're handcuffed together.
As they navigate their community service, attempting to sabotage one another, they gradually realize what's truly important in life and start seeing each other in a new light.
This book exceeded all my expectations! If you love closed-door romances, slow burns, witty banter, and rivals turned into something more, this is a must-read. I really enjoyed the dual POV and the text message exchanges—adding extra fun and depth to the story.
This is the third book I’ve read from Noelle Davenport and it’s just as engaging and fun as the first two. I fell in love with the characters from page one, and my heart went out to Violet’s heartbreaking past! The chemistry between these characters is delightful and comical. I’m sure to recommend this sweet love story to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy!
