Kane Brothers Trilogy #1

Every Broken Promise

Rate this book
If you asked if I wanted to return to my hometown, the answer would be no.
But on a deeper level, I would tell you that I was too scared to face my fears.

Going back home sucked, but I was determined to make it work.

Stepping on a few toes while doing my new job at the local newspaper? Not a problem.
Handling old classmates who still held a grudge against me? No issue.
But seeing Tyler Kane's face again? That was a different story.

Now that we were both in the same small town, avoiding my once-best friend was no longer an option.
Even worse, he'd integrated himself into the life I left behind, not to mention my family adored him.

After all this time, I couldn't let go of the grudge that I still harbored against him.
While I'd always been there for him, the one night I needed him the most, Tyler hadn't been there for me.

I had fallen for my best friend while he had put me in the friend zone.

And now, even though it seems like he might be starting to feel the same way, all I can think about is that Tyler Kane has broken every promise he ever made.

ARC Review
Thank you to C. Lymari for the opportunity to read this book!

Let me start off by saying that I have been looking forward to reading this book since I finished reading Home At Last in June 2023. With this being said, this book was everything I thought it would be! Astrid and Tyler are everything I remember and more. Childhood best friends turned enemies to lovers (well, one-sided enemies). Their banter was hilarious, and I absolutely adored them!

Astrid and Tyler have been best friends since kindergarten but one huge mistake on Tyler’s part during senior year, destroys any trust Astrid has in him. Now, four years later, Astrid is back in town and in no hurry to mend any type of friendship with Tyler (Tylenol, Iykyk). Tyler, on the other hand, is thrilled to have her back and is determined to prove that their friendship is worth restoring and that it could finally grow into the something deeper he’s always wanted but never let himself pursue. There are few twists I did not see coming but it kept me engaged and wanting to know more.

Astrid quickly became an FMC I really loved and appreciated. I love her friendship with Rachel who happens to be my favorite FMC from the C. Lymari world. Tyler was also a great MMC. Although he did frustrate me at times, overall, he was great! Additionally, I enjoyed getting know the other Kane brothers and can’t wait to read their stories.

If you enjoy a good small- town romance with a bit of mystery, I recommend you check this book out. It was a five-star read for me and a top 2025 read too.

I LOVED THIS SMALL TOWN BEST FRIENDS-ENEMIES-LOVERS ROMANCE!! IT'S A MUST READ!!

The author did a phenomenal job giving you the quintessential small town feel with relatable characters in this one. I loved that you got a few familiar faces in Tyler & Astrid's journey to finding their HEA.

I'm a sucker for these Kane brothers!! They all have unique personalities that make you swoon. Tyler the youngest has been best friends with Astrid since they were five years old. She's been his rock and protector at a very young age, especially after his mother passed away. I loved that the author takes you from present to past so you get each side of their stories which leads to the biggest fallout between them. With Astrid leaving for college the last four years have left Tyler heartbroken and a shell of who he was. He's determined to amend his wrongs and get his friend back and possibly tell her his true feelings if she will hear him out. So if you love a good mutual pining with a little forbidden romance vibes these two bring it tenfold.

Astrid struggles to find herself without Tyler by her side and coming back home after college is a true test of her willpower to hold a grudge for her former best friend & crush. She will give quite a few lol moments with her sassy attitude and also make you wanna scream to just kiss him already lol. Yes, these two have a few frustrating moments where they need to communicate more. It is still fun to watch them struggle to admit their true feelings but when they do it's straight up heat-induced spicy moments between them.

If you are a lover of small town romance with second chances then this is an absolute must read here!! This author brings all the feels and even a little twist of suspense to keep you glued till the end. Hands down a top 2025 read for me. I can't wait for the next book now!!

Overall: 5/☆☆☆☆☆

"Falling in love with Tyler Kane was the first crack in our friendship.
The fact he did not feel the same way made it shatter."

Gawd, I really needed this book in my chaotic at the moment life!!!
It made me swoon, it made me laugh, it made me forget my problems for a while!!!
Astrid was hysterically adorable, even when she was trying to be angry to Ty... something!!! LOL!!!
And Tyler was incredible!!! Yep, he had made some mistakes in the past, but his friendship with Astrid meant the world to him and he wanted this girl back into his life!!!
This was a best friends to one sided enemies to lovers romance and I enjoyed very much this lovely story!!!

"You broke every promise we ever made." ,/i>

Astrid and Tyler were best friends since kindergarden, but at their senior year, they became from everything to each other into strangers... Astrid fleed her hometown and she left everything behind, including Tyler who had betrayed every single promise that he had ever made to her...
Four years later, Astrid is back in town and she has to face again her old peeps and of course, her former best friend for whom she had always romantic feelings...
And it doesn't help the fact that Tyler had infiltrated into her family in her absence or that he is determined to win her back as his best friend and even for more...
Can Astrid resist to the Kane charm???

"Astrid may have lost all faith in us, but I never had."

These two were adorable!!!
Astrid was fighting a losing battle from the very first moment, and I loved how determined was Tyler to never let her go again...
I loved their banter, I loved their connection, I loved their past, even though it was hurtful from time to time...
These two were meant to be....
And now, I can not wait for the rest of the Kane brothers!!! I am so invested on them... And of course I need to read the homecoming series!!! I am so curious about certain people!!!

"I'm yours, beautiful, and you were always meant to be mine."

I can’t stand to sit back and be a passenger in your life…not when I want to be so much more.

I’ve been waiting for Ty and Astrid’s book ever since we got a glimpse of them in another book and I can say it was well worth the wait.

While I love C.lymari’s dark romances, she had a knack for creating this small town worlds and completely immersing you in them.

Every Broken promise follows the story of childhood best friends who grew up in each other’s pockets and watching how their love turned to hate and hurt and then back to a burning passion and love.

Tropes:
🌺Small town romance
🌺childhood friends to enemies to lovers
🌺Angst
🌺She falls first
🌺Slow burn

Love wasn’t linear. There was no right or wrong way to do it. Loving someone was acknowledging the fact that you were vulnerable, but you would trust that person not to hurt you.

⋆˚࿔ this book was recommended by a booktoker and omg thank you because i truly enjoyed it so much!! hot take, but i think the misunderstanding trope is enjoyable only IF it’s done right. and here, the author nailed it. childhood friends, unrequited love, second chance, misunderstanding… literally all my favourite tropes in one book and i’m so thankful i found it. the story kept me intrigued the whole way through, especially wanting to know what happened that made her the way she was. astrid is hands down my favourite character here. the only thing missing for me was the groveling. i just wish there had been more from tyler because it didn’t feel like enough. like ngl if i were astrid, i’d be upset too, so i wanted him to YEARNNNNN lol.

Every Broken Promise is not only the newest release from C. Lymari, it is also the first release from her newest series Kane Brothers Trilogy.
This particular book has us following former Childhood Best Friends Astrid Hart and Tyler ‘Ty’ Kane in this Angsty, Small Town Romance.

Let me just preface this by saying having read many of Claudia’s books and loved them, unfortunately this one didn't compare to her others for me.
But that’s not to say it didn’t have its moments of still being good having liked the characters and pieces of story too.

Considering the journey Astrid and Ty found themselves venturing upon, it led to the narrative being a mixture of cute, sweet and heartwarming. Yet simultaneously saddening and hurtful.
But that was to be expected seeing as where the two stood, due to the falling out that caused their friendship to break. And in Astrid's case, then having moved away, allowing the distance to create a bigger space between them. Resulting into the bumpy ride upon being back in each other's lives, to slowly pave way to the journey of establishing a relationship.
At the same time, it was also entertaining too, particularly in the interactions between Astrid and Ty, since Ty wasn’t having it. Given he didn’t feel the same as Astrid, who always made it clear about her dislike for him due to the grudge she held. Something that is alluded to throughout with being a mystery.

Following along in their journey with the issues they needed to face and overcome, though mostly Astrid, allowed for further development to explored through not only the story of their characters. But also their relationship too, due to all the ups, downs, highs and lows, going back and forth with all the pushing and pulling. Again more so on Astrid’s part.
Yet it allowed progress to be made slowly, but surely, especially when it came to the growth and re-blossoming of their budding romantic relationship.

Despite its good moments, I can’t ignore the issues it had for me, which is ultimately what weighed the book down for me.
For instance, there was something about this story that had me lost and confused, for a good portion of the book. And that was a rarity to say the least.
While I understood the main plot that centred around Astrid and Ty and their history. Both past and present.
However when it came to the mysteries alluded to within the subplots coming out of the woodworks, which included the secondary characters. It not only had me feeling overwhelmed in trying to understand and keep up.
Simultaneously it left me wondering what it all meant and where it was going. Mainly due to it seeming inconsistent to me, not just from being thrown in at random times. Or in between other moments from how and when it was mentioned at times IMO.
To me it’s what led to the narrative feeling messy, the flow veering off course with feeling broken, choppy and inconsistent when it was bought to the forefront.

Another issue for me was the ending, it felt a little rushed, particularly going from the bang of the showdown to the HEA. It just seemed too fast to me, with being over in the blink of an eye.

In the end, Every Broken Promise by C. Lymari still made for a decent read, having still enjoyed getting to know Astrid and Tyler and see them find their way back to one another.
Plus despite my issues, it still has me looking forward to the next book in Kane Brothers Trilogy with Adam Kane's story.

I had to look back at when I read the book Home at Last by C. Lymari to figure out exactly how long I've been waiting for Tyler and Astrid's story to be released, which turns out to be June 28, 2023. I can say I've been waiting years for this book to be released, and I'm not exaggerating.

If you've read Home at Last, you would have met Astrid as the bubbly reporter next door neighbour to Rachel, who befriended her to help herself to some gourmet coffee each morning. Tyler works at the town auto shop, which he owns with his two older brothers and dad. In Home at Last, we didn't get much background on the relationship between Astrid and Tyler, other than they were childhood best friends once upon a time, and now Astrid can't stand to be in his presence.

The story picks up in the present time when Astrid is moving back to her hometown after being away at college for the last four years. Her car breaks down on the side of the road, and she's forced to call the local tow truck company, which just so happens to be Tyler's family business. The two former best friends are reunited at last.

Astrid wants nothing to do with Tyler while he's obsessed with getting his best friend back.

The story follows these two characters as they're navigating their lives, new careers (Astrid), and trying to pick themselves back up after their big fallout on prom night over four years ago.

The book does contain flashback scenes, and I'm not usually a fan of the back and forth (present to past, etc.); however, I thought that the author did a really good job of giving the reader a glimpse of the past without overwhelming us with a time jump. I loved that you got to see the evolution of their relationship from Tyler's POV through their first meeting in kindergarten up until prom night.

I really felt for Astrid in those scenes where you can tell she's in love with her best friend, feels as though she's been friend zoned, and had her heart broken along the way. She went out of her way to make women in Tyler's life feel comfortable with her presence and how important she was. When she found out Tyler lost his virginity, my heart broke for young Astrid. Unrequited love is the worst!

Overall, I felt that the story flowed really well. It was a light and easy read for me. Nothing nearly as emotional as Home at Last (still one of my favourite books).

I can't wait to read the other brothers' stories, especially after getting a glimpse of their love interests and what we can expect.

The supporting characters in these stories really do add so much depth to the books.

This is the perfect book to relive your adolescence and first love—but also a powerful reminder of what it truly means to forgive someone who hurt you.

As someone who had a special boy in her early years, this story felt incredibly personal. I loved watching Astrid and Tyler grow, reflect, and slowly come back to each other. And Ty’s quiet, determined fight to win her back? Absolutely stole my heart.

Astrid Hart returns to her small hometown after years away, not for a warm welcome but to escape the wreckage of her post-college life. Her car breaks down just outside town—a fitting metaphor—and fate throws her straight into the path of Tyler Kane, her childhood best friend and the guy who broke her heart.

Once inseparable since kindergarten, Tyler and Astrid had a bond that most people dream of—until a betrayal during high school destroyed it. Astrid left town, brokenhearted and bitter, and has been avoiding Tyler ever since. But now, back home with her journalism degree, a new job at the local paper, and nowhere else to run, she's forced to face everything she ran from… including him.

When Astrid’s car breaks down, it’s none other than Ty who comes to help her. The tension is instant and electric and despite years apart, the chemistry remains—but so do the emotional scars.

Lymari skillfully weaves in flashbacks to their childhood and teenage years, showing just how close they were. From kindergarten hand-holding to sleepovers after Tyler's mother died, it’s evident Astrid was Tyler’s emotional lifeline—and vice versa. We get alternating POVs, and Tyler’s internal guilt is heartbreaking. He knows he failed Astrid when she needed him most. He’s been eating Sunday dinner with her parents for four years, clinging to the one piece of her he had left.

Once the emotional walls begin to fall, the spice in this story goes from simmer to steamy. It’s angsty, deliciously slow-burn, and when they do reconnect it’s well-earned and emotionally charged. Add to that the drama at the end and you get a 5 star story!

Can’t wait to read the next book in the Kane Brothers series and see where the story takes Adam and Luna. 💙

Entertaining story.

So I know that I am going to enjoy watching these Kane brothers fall.

Astrid and Tyler have been the bestest of friends since Kindergarten. Honestly, my favorite parts of this story were when they first met and the innocent love they had for each other. They were each other's rock and support for YEARS!

But, of course, as they get older, hormones and feelings start to surface. Do they risk their friendship?, does the other feel the same way?...uncertainty and lack of communication appeared to be their downfall. High school rolls around and Tyler doesn't step up for Astrid like she thought he should and a bond is broken, crushed, smashed to smithereens.

Four years later, Astrid left town, has graduated college, and is back in her hometown writing for the local newspaper. Meanwhile, Tyler is trying to make amends to no avail.

The chapters from the past from Tyler's point of view really help give this story depth and moves the story along with scenes from the past - this part was very well done!

Although I enjoyed the story, I did feel that it took too long to get to the heart of why their friendship imploded and Astrid seemed a bit immature and childish over the hurt. While it is eventually understandable, her refusal to let Tyler explain and she only does so after a significant reconnection was a little off putting.

This was such a bittersweet moment: "'I wasn't any of your firsts...But I sure as **** want to be your last.'" Swoon!!

"At that moment, I knew I had never gotten up since I fell the first time." Awwwww!!

"Despite every broken promise along the way, we still ended up right here with each other, where we belonged."

Overall, it was an entertaining read and I am REALLY looking forward to Book 2's couple!!

I voluntarily requested and read an uncorrected advance reader copy.

Astrid and Tyler

I absolutely loved this story.

A story about young love, best friends, growing up and learning from your mistakes.

Tyler and Astrid are friends from a very young age and inseparable. The dynamic of their relationship changes as they get older but also as they hit high school. Tyler is in with the popular crowd and Astrid is a bit of an outsider. Tyler's family have been through the ringer with the death of his mum at a young age. He receives some incredibly misplaced advice from his brother as well as seeing the experience his father faced and he lets his fear of losing Astrid consume him making some fairly colossal mistakes resulting in him losing Astrid anyway. Astrid loves Tyler but she believes he only sees her as a friend. We get to read how Tyler's misguided actions leave Astrid completely heartbroken on more than one occasion and aft prom night she leaves town.

Tyler knows he made the biggest mistake of his life, he knew it before Astrid left but she cut him out and he never got the chance to make it up to her. I quite enjoyed Astrid putting him through the ringer a little after what he did to her (albeit he did it unknowingly). When she returns he is adamant that he will not be making the same mistake again and determined to win over his girl. Astrid is not prepared to forgive and forget easily and Tyler has to work hard to earn her forgiveness and her trust.

The family dynamic of Tyler and his brothers is fun to read and I look forward to reading their stories too!

I genuinely enjoyed this story. It really showed the ups and downs of growing up and transitioning from kids to adults. Understanding and learning from mistakes but also showing that mistakes made when you are a teen don't need to follow you through to adulthood!

What a wonderful start to the Kane Brothers Trilogy. I ate this up and couldn't get enough! A sweet, best friends to lovers story that was so well written, entertaining and tugged at my heart strings.
Astrid coming back to her home town after college, to work at the local paper The Willow Grove Herald.. Being away for four years, a lot has changed and some not so much. All the same people who remember Astrid's final encounter that led her to up and leave. Tyler and his brothers own the local garage along with their dad, a true family affair. The local tarot shop that keeps giving Astrid amusing messages that hit the mark.
Tyler Kane her best friend and the man she ran away from, changed into a man of regrets. Astrid is trying to get over her traumatic memories on why she left. Seeing Tyler again brings it all back and with that she won't forgive him.
Both have different memories on what happened, crossed wires, ruined a friendship that was deep rooted for them both. Forgiveness and past mistakes help heal, but talking to one another eventually leads them to realise how much they had missed and what they had got wrong.
Astrid is sassy, sweet and made me laugh with her wit. Tyler is a carimg, patient guy who now knows what he wants and is not going to give up.
The story flips back and forth to the past, so the reader knows what they were like growing up, their friendship and what went wrong for Astrid to leave. I did enjoy this as it was enough without going to indepth.
A beautiful small town romance that was like a warm hug, I wish I lived in a town like Willow Grove. Look forward to the next book in the series, highly recommend. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

Astrid and Tyler’s story is one of those romances that feels both nostalgic and brand new at the same time. They’ve known each other since kindergarten, built years of inside jokes and shared memories, and then—like so many best-friend love stories—one wrong move in high school blew it all apart. Astrid walked away hurt, and Tyler was left knowing he’d made the biggest mistake of his life.

Now, four years later, Astrid’s back in their hometown, determined to keep her distance. But Tyler? He’s not letting go that easily. Watching him try to win her back—while Astrid throws up every wall she can—was equal parts hilarious, frustrating, and heart-melting.

What I loved most was how the book weaves their past into the present. The flashbacks don’t feel overwhelming; instead, they give you this bittersweet glimpse into everything they had and everything they lost. It makes their reunion feel even more meaningful—and honestly, more complicated, in the best way. Astrid’s sass and independence made her such a fun heroine, while Tyler’s determination (and occasional cluelessness) made him impossible not to root for.

And can we talk about the Kane brothers? Each one has a distinct vibe, and I can already tell their books are going to be addictive. The small-town setting also adds so much charm—you really feel like you know the people, the gossip, even the quirky shops around town.

If you’re into second-chance romances with a mix of heartfelt growth, laugh-out-loud banter, and a little suspense to keep things interesting, this one’s a must-read. It’s sweet, a little spicy, and packed with all the feels. Easily a top read for me this year—I’m already counting down until we get the next brother’s story.

“Ty had always been my safe place—until he wasn’t.”

I’m completely and unapologetically in love with Every Broken Promise. From the very first page, I was hooked—utterly consumed by Tyler and Astrid’s journey and the mystery behind their fractured friendship. This second-chance love story was everything I hoped for and more. It was worth every moment of the wait.

“Once I have you back in my life, I won’t ever let you go again.”

Tyler and Astrid’s bond began in kindergarten, a friendship so deep it felt unbreakable. As they grew, their connection evolved into something more tender and intense—but fear and betrayal have a cruel way of unraveling even the strongest ties. One devastating night shattered everything, driving Astrid away. Now she’s back, and Tyler is determined to reclaim what they lost.

“When you left, you took a part of me. It wasn’t until you came back that I realized I felt whole again.”

Their story tugged at every corner of my heart. The vulnerability, the miscommunication, the aching insecurities—they made me feel everything. I was desperate to uncover the truth behind their separation and found myself racing through the pages. Both characters are beautifully written: strong yet wounded, generous yet guarded. Watching them confront their past and fight for a future together was deeply moving.

“In kinder, you reached for my hand, but instead you got my heart, Astrid.”

I’m already fully invested in this series and counting down the days until Adam’s story. If it’s anything like Tyler and Astrid’s, I know I’m in for another unforgettable ride.

This book was worth all the wait because C. Lymari delivers an amazing and beautiful story about second chances, forgiveness and true love!!

Every Broken Promise is the first book in a brand new series: The Kane Brother's Trilogy and we start with the youngest sibling Tyler Kane and the one woman he can't stop thinking and missing so much, his ex-best friend Astrid.

Astrid and Tyler have so much history together. Since a very young age they have been best friends, been there for each other to almost every milestone in their lives but after a stupid mistake this friendship shatters completely and Astrid moves out of town. Years later Astrid is back home from college, starting a new job in the local news paper and trying to avoid Tyler at all cost, unfortunately for her Tyler has other plans that involve having Astrid in his life no matter what.

This story tugged at my heart, Astrid has so much pain and resentment towards Tyler but deep inside he is the boy she has always love and Tyler, oh boy did that boy did everything in his power to make Astrid forgive him and repair their broken friendship which at the end was not enough for him because Astrid has always been the love of his live and he wants everything with her.

This was definitely and emotional but entertaining story with a beautiful small town setting, amazing side characters and a second chance romance that I can't stop thing about. I can't wait for more of this series.

This second chance, childhood best friends to enemies to lovers was super cute with just the right amount of emotional tension.

Astrid has finally come back to her hometown after leaving for college. She never wanted to leave but with how her senior year of high school ended, she needed space and a new beginning. But as soon as she steps foot into town, it all comes back to her and she doesn’t know how she will handle things. Especially when the first person she bumps into is Tyler, her ex best friend and the boy she fell in love with. How will she manage being back in their small town and seeing him everywhere? Well she doesn’t handle it the best or how I would want her to but she eventually gets through all her past dramas.

Tyler, this man I adored. He was a kid that didn’t know how to handle his feelings and didn’t have the best examples when it came to feelings. After losing his mother at a young age and being the youngest brother, he clung onto his best friend, Astrid. Then when teenage years hit is when he didn’t know what to do. Now I can’t fault him entirely for this as like I said he was a teenage boy lol. But I did love how he grew to understand his mistakes and knew whenever Astrid returned he wouldn’t make the same ones again. And he never did.

The banter between these two characters was fun to read. I loved how Tyler never backed down when Astrid was being annoyingly stubborn lol. They do eventually get their HEA so don’t fret.

Amazingly written childhood best friends to broken hearts to lovers. The entire journey of Astrid and Tyler is beautiful, at times angsty but also lovingly funny. Every Broken Promise is wonderfully laid out as these two walk through their past while it also weaves with the present as we, the reader, witness their sweet, young friendship blossom and develop a bond that would appear unbreakable. Then move into the present where their friendship has been broken and even with their life long friendship wonder if it can be repaired. It's  fantastically told and I adored both Tyler and Astrid through the entire book.

This world contains wonderful secondary characters and a warm and friendly town. I loved getting to know both the Kane and Hart families and I can't wait for more from the Kane brothers. I loved Tyler's persistence, his never wavering love and friendship that he had for Astrid. While at the same time I loved that Astrid was strong and kept staying true to who she was. She didn't let anyone change her character, even when she had lots of opportunities to let others drag her down. While it was devastating to have time apart, it also offered perspective on what was lost and gave each of them time to grow and really appreciate what they could have and did have. This book was great at highlighting both of those things and I love characters that truly appreciate each other.

🌸Every Broken Promise🌸
Kane Brothers Trilogy #1

By C. Lymari

🌸 Small Town Romance
🌸Friends to Enemies to Lovers
🌸 Second Chance

⭐ 5/5

Quote: “You in my arms, Astrid? It feels like I can finally breathe again.”

Astrid, she is hurt by her best friend and back home after four years
Tyler, fears has had him made wrong decisions four years ago

Astrid, Tyler and a long and painful road to a deserved happy end

This romance is heartbreaking and redeeming beautifully. Formerly best friends Tyler and Astrid have had a wonderful bond and a friendship since they were five years old. But becoming teenagers and battling with hormones, getting well meaned tips and fears made it hard for them. Until one event broke their friendship up ultimately. Astrid left town for four years without coming home. Now she is back in the town that had her run away. Tyler never understood why she never seeked contact with him. He knew he made mistakes but never fuzzy fathomed how deep they cut Astrid. Now he finally gets his chance to make amends. But Astrid doesn’t make it easy for him. A long road lies ahead of them for rebuilding their friendship or becoming more. Secret feelings, misunderstandings and hurt make everything rocky and hard. But Tyler is determined and Astrid can’t avoid him forever.
This is a wonderful second chance romance who pulls at your heartstrings and has you rooting for those characters. Can’t wait for the interesting side characters to get their own stories.

Every broken promise is the 1st book on the Kane Brothers trilogy.

Tyler and Astrid have been best friends from a very young age. Astrid was his protector and meant everything to him especially when he lost his mum when he was little. They were inseparable. As they got older Astrid developed feelings for Tyler that go beyond friendship. When she decided to take the plunge and tell him how she felt she quickly learned that his feelings weren’t reciprocated she decided to leave town leaving her former best friend behind. Tyler was never the same since he lost the best friend he ever had. He become a totally different person when Astrid left.

Four years have passed since Astrid was in her home town. Having graduated from college she returns home having started a new job the only downside she knows she’ll run into her former best friend. When Tyler learns of Astrids return he vows to make things right with his former best friend and have her back in his life again.

Every broken promise was a wonderful heart warming story. I adored Tyler and Astrid’s story. C. Lymari has done an outstanding job with this story and I couldn’t get enough. If you’re a fan of friends turned enemies to lovers with mutual pining then I highly recommend you read this magnificent story.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I have loved everything I have ready by C. Lymari, and this does not disappoint. Although we get some easter eggs of characters from her Homecoming series, you can still read this one without having had to read the previous series without issues. Astrid and Tyler are childhood friends that grew up together being best friends. But after feeling betrayed by Tyler, Astrid decides to go to her back up college that was further away than what she planned. Now she's graduated and accepted a job that brings her back to her small hometown and back to Tyler. Tyler takes this opportunity for what it is, a second chance to make things right again between them. Old feelings that they thought were buried resurface and things get a little steamy along the way to their HEA. I loved these characters so much, especially Astrids creative ways of changing Tyler's name because she refused to say it. This is a small town, second chance, best friends to lovers that will instantly grab a hold of you and will not let you go even after you reached their HEA. I can't wait to see what our next Kane brother has in store for us because right now Tyler is holding on to my top tier Kane.

ok ok ok, I loved and I mean loved this book so much. Childhood Best Friends to Enemies (?) to Lovers, done so well. I really loved everything about this book, from the connection between our two main characters, to all of the found family vibes which are immaculate. This was such a perfect balance between soft sweet romance and some light angsty vibes.

One of my absolute favorite things was the underlying suspense storyline that was so juicily rectified at the end and was so nicely interwoven with just about everything!!

Astrid and Tyler have been best friends since Kindergarten until one faithful night in high school blew all that up, at least from Astrid's prospective. She changes all her life plans after that, going to a college out of state and not coming home for a full 4 years, no contact with Tyler at all.

Four years later, and she's coming back to her small town, hoping she could just avoid everything she left behind but of course it's not that easy. Right from the start fate isn't on her side when her car breaks down and Tyler with his tow truck is the one to come and pick her up. It's a spiral from there, like the universe is having a big laugh. I think one of the most fun little details about this book is the signs and tarot cards outside of the spiritual shop.

This book has so many ups and downs and I think seeing a lot of the important moments of them growing up through Tyler's POV adds quite a bit of dimension.

Can't recommend it enough and I truly can't wait for the next book to come out!! There were such good set ups for so many of our side characters. I know they're going to be amazing. There's nothing like a good interconnected standalone series!

Every Broken Promise ( Kane Brothers Trilogy Book 1 ) Astrid and Tyler - OMG !!! OMG !!! The way these two hooked me so completely , the the way their story pulled on all my heartstrings and had me laughing out loud , smiling like crazy even sobbing like a baby , yelling outta pure frustration and kept me cheering so freaking hard . Well I honestly do not think there really are any perfect words to express how in love with this story I fell . So beautiful and so emotional, these two really were sheer perfection together. All the angst and the humor and the witty banter , the drama , the obstacles, the love , the passion, the pain , the hate to love aspect . Seeing everything they went through, and even when fhey were fighting their attraction to one another , they couldn’t stop their selves from falling . I just loved loved loved every second of their journey so freaking much 💜💜💜💜💜

C. Lymari is an exceptional author. I always love her books. But any time she has a book where the characters are part of each other's lives, then drift away and come back to each other, I know I am going to love it.

The angst between Astrid and Tyler was pure perfection. I found myself crying multiple times when reading this, because I just felt for the two of them. It's crazy how one situation could be looked at in a way and cause everything that happened. I enjoyed seeing the hate Astrid felt for him turn into what it did by the end. The two of them were destined to be together and it was just incredibly beautiful to read the way they end up coming together.

I cannot wait for more books in this series! I just know all of them are going to be some of my absolute faves.

C. Lymari has shown her ability to write in different genres. She is brilliant at dark romances, but her twist on small-town, contemporary romances elicits all the feels.

Every Broken Promise has been worth the wait and is about Astrid and Ty. These two have been through the wringer. What started as childhood friends eventually turned into enemies and somehow into lovers.

Ms. Lymari’s representation of a small-town romance was beautifully written to tear at your heartstrings. I felt everything that was being portrayed. Pain, resentment, loathing, and love were flowing from the pages.

These Kane brothers are going to win your heart over. I can’t wait for more from this author and these brothers.

This one was just okay for me. I really liked the friendship between the main characters and the way it slowly turned into more, I’m always a fan of the best-friends-to-lovers trope. The plot was good and their history made the story more emotional.

What didn’t work for me was how long the FMC held a grudge. I understood why she was hurt, especially when the MMC didn’t stand up for her, but four years of silence felt a bit much since they were both so young when it happened.

Overall, it had some sweet moments and I did enjoy parts of the story, but I found myself a little frustrated with the conflict being dragged out and the length of the book, which is why I’m only giving it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.

Oh my I just know this is going to be a fabulous new series that I am going to devour and I am going to fall in love with all the Kane brothers. This was Astrid and Tyler’s story. They were childhood best friends who had a falling and when she moves away for college it leaves Tyler shattered. On her return to her hometown after college Tyler makes it his mission in life to win back his best friend and hold on to her forever. I enjoyed this journey with them and although at times it was emotional it was such a sweet romance that made me melt like butter. I am so excited for this series and I cannot wait to read more of the Kane brothers. Definitely a five star read.

A heartbreaking romance with beautiful redemption.

Tyler and Astrid have shared a wonderful bond and a friendship since they were five years old. Until one event breaks their friendship and leads Astrid to leave town and she returns four years later.

Tyler never understood why Astrid didn’t stay in contact with him and now with her return he finally gets his chance to make his amends.

It’s a long road for them, rebuild of their friendship, secret feelings, misunderstandings and hurt. Tyler is determined and Astrid can't avoid him forever.

This book is a second chance romance which will pull your heartstrings and will have you rooting for both characters.

I absolutely adored Tyler and Astrid's story! 💕 This is a childhood friends, to enemies, to lovers, and was just the sweetest story. The banter between them was funny and they melted this hard heart. I loved seeing the crossover of characters from the Homecoming series. I loved Rachel's story and was so excited to be able get to read about Astrid. The side characters in this small town romance are just as loveable as Tyler and Astrid.
C Lymari has got another winner on her hands. Totally recommend Every Broken Promise if you love a good small town romance. Cannot wait for book 2 in the trilogy!

Every Broken Promise by C. Lymari is the story of Tyler and Astrid (Beautiful). Things happened years ago…and she hates him. But now, she’s back. He is determined to have his best friend in his life again. But, Astrid can’t get over what he did to her….it changed her life.

This story just tore at my heartstrings!! I especially loved his thoughts going back to high school. It was poignant…and the ‘high school’ feelings were perfectly expressed by the author. I could almost feel every emotion as if I were there experiencing it!!! Loved Astrid and her intense feelings…and the thoughts and feelings she had while it was all happening. Just an intense, lovely, angsty read!!!

oh my lanta…might container a lil spoiler

This is the second book I’ve read from C.Lymari and she DOES 👏 NOT 👏 DISAPPOINT 👏…man Tyler definitely redeemed himself and didn’t give up! And I’m SO happy I’m finally reading a book where the fmc went out and actually lived her life and slept around instead of the whole “I love him I’ll wait for him” I especially loved how Astrid walked Tyler like a dog and didn’t bend (I mean can you blame her she was hurting) even though he never waited for her! Man I felt her heart ache when he started dating though, so definitely angsty! All in all, I 100% loved this book!
