Doc Hundreds of years after the progenitors visited Mater Terra and ruined everything, their long lost omega has been discovered and he wants nothing to do with taking over planets. He wants to raise his son, make more babies and live in peace. Honestly? Can. Relate. But as a mostly human hybreed, I lack the parts to do so—but not for long. Change is coming and so is a new Progenitor who smells divine, but I don’t love him. The man I love is dying, and I’d do anything to keep him with me just a little longer.
Sarge I’ve spent 40 years pretending to be human, not that the hybreeds were observant enough to tell. Of all the things I’ve done in my long, unethical life, falling in love was the last thing I wanted to do. But just as it appears my time is running out, I’m leaving behind a multitude of sins and the love of my life. I just hope the last thing I see when I go isn’t him in the wrong arms.
I usually adore anything that Lilo Quie writes, but I did find myself not paying as much attention to it part way through this book. I persevered and it did get better and I am glad that I finished it. I think I got a bit lost in the science of hybreeds etc. I know that Ms Quie has a scientific mind and has also just had upheavals in her household. Anyway this is the reason why I give it four stars not the usual five. Still interesting and great to get more background on certain characters in this series. Well worth reading and please don’t be put off by my opinion on the science because I was terrible at it in school and I have only gotten worse as I age. This is an excellent series and I hope we get more books in it.

"Something about our tails curling made me experience a pleasure I’d never understood before."
This is book 2 in the Scales and Tails of Fate series by Lilo Quie. I picked this up off of Booksprout, when I saw it pop up, since I read book 1 as well. The bad thing about getting old is you forget stuff, e.g. what happened in the last book in this series. When I saw that book 1 had been released in audio, I grabbed it up and listened to it before I started reading this one. Oh my goodness... Those two narrators did a fantastic job!
This story is about Doc and Sarge. I was so glad that these characters got a book. Boy does Sarge have a huge surprise for the crew and Doc gets a surprise of his own. If you were worried that you wouldn't see Noel, Vil, and their cute little space lizard Nexus again, don't be, they are a big part of this book too as the story and the journey continues.
If you're looking for something totally unexpected this one's for you, it's serious, funny, and thought-provoking all rolled up into 159 pages of fun.
Can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next.
Oh wow, a great second book after The Last Omega in the Galaxy. It's not NECESSARY to read that book, but I highly recommend it to give you the background and foundation for this story.
Doc and Sarge have a special bond, but it won't last forever. Sarge's host form is dying and he will perish with it. Alternatively, Doc is being transitioned to Naleucian (intentionally or not) the they're progenitors. Ugh! Frusterated, Sarge sets the ship off to scavenge a "haunted" site. What they find there may spell the end of more than just Sarge. It may have a much more devastating or significant impact than simply his existence.
This story is filled with wonder, fantasy, science fiction, "space aliens", adorable babies, mates, hot smexy times as well as some brutally emotional struggles. Grab your tissues, fan and favorite beverage!

I loved The First Omega Made by Lilo Quie. It's the second book in the Scales and Tails of Fate series. I loved Doc and Sarge's story. I won't lie. I totally cried when I thought Doc had lost his mate, Sarge. I was so glad that he didn't and that Noel was able to help Sarge. I loved getting to see more of Noel, his mate, and their baby, Nexus and the rest of the crew. I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out.
A great space adventure! I love this story! It was so entertaining and I was so invested I could not put it down. The story, world, and characters really pull you in. Doc and Sarge were fun and their HEA was so deserved. They made me laugh and cry. I also like that we get a lot of cameos from Noel and family and learn more about their people’s history. I definitely recommend this story and cannot wait for the next story!
The adventure, continues! Doc and Sarge surprise us! This is a story that is a bit of a roller coaster, but we stay invested because of the great characters and we want them to be well. Characters from the previous book make an appearance, so we have some delicious continuity. Our emotions, are fully engaged and there are a few tense, sad and happy moments. Great story, well done! I really enjoyed the first book, so I was looking forward to this one as well. Great world building and wonderful characters. From the story premise, I hoped it wouldn't be too emotional/sad- though I can count on Lilo to give me cute HEAs! I loved both Sarge and Doc. I liked the way they connected and the story was an adventure. I also loved seeing the characters from the first book. It was fast-paced and I was hooked. 4 stars
In my opinion this book takes a lot of concentration. And when I'm reading a book I don't want to have to keep looking up what a word means. There was so much scientific jargon that it took me out of the story.

I love this series already, the plot, the ‘plot’, the characters; Sarge and Doc had such a sweet story. Hopefully more to come, if not…the last sentence is a hilarious, fitting end
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I enjoyed this story and I'm glad Doc and Sarge found a way to be together fully and to have a child. However what they find on Paradise when they get there is a surprise. I look forward to the next book.
I adored Sarge and Doc. There's darkness, pain and suffering and plenty of twists and turns. There's amazing world building and I genuinely hope the author continues to build this world.
Sarge and Doc's story was very good. Such a unique world and the characters are all real even though they never could be. I loved it! Looking froward to more. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I loved this story, a continuation of Bk 1. It's so unique, with great world-building. This book focuses on the love and mating between Doc and Sarge. They have various challenges, but their love keeps them together despite the changes. I look forward to more from this series.
This is a Good Book To Read!! This story is about Doc and Sarge. Sarge is nearing the end of his life and when he gets into a fight will he survive?? Will Doc get the baby he wants????.

Despite being an A/B/O book - with eggs even - I've enjoyed this series so far. There's just enough alien sci-fi in it to make it worth skipping around.
