**The sequel to Tarnished, book 5.5 of the Caged series**
Reunited at last, Ruby and Scarlet have tried to mend their fractured relationship. But Scarlet’s unwillingness to share what she did during her three week expedition has Ruby frustrated and Sean seething. When Ruby starts to remember events she never witnessed, it becomes clear that Scarlet’s days of secrecy were far more nefarious than she let on. As though that weren’t enough, an enigmatic note and key entangle Ruby in an off-the-book murder investigation. Detective Alan Beauchamp will stop at nothing to uncover the truth surrounding the death of his mentor. But when he and Ruby attempt to retrieve the evidence necessary to solve the case, they soon find themselves in the killer’s sights. With unknown assailants after her and Scarlet’s dark deeds surfacing, can Ruby survive long enough to find a way out of death’s path, or will events already set in motion lead to her ultimate demise?
AMBER LYNN NATUSCH is the author of the bestselling Caged series for adults. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, and is still deeply attached to her Canadian roots. She loves to dance and practice Muay Thai―but spends most of her time running a chiropractic practice with her husband, raising two young children, and attempting to write when she can lock herself in the bathroom for ten minutes of peace. Dare You to Lie is her debut YA novel with Tor Teen.
As the author mentions, it's a really good idea to re-read both FRACTURED AND TARNISHED. I usually don't read novellas, but I would have been totally lost for a lot of STRAYED without the back story on Sean that TARNISHED provides. If you have not read any of the other books in this series please start from book 1. You will be lost, and you won't enjoy STRAYED like you should. If you are someone that doesn't read things from self-published authors, make an exception, you won't be sorry you did.
There is just something about the characters in this series. I feel like I know them personally and my life would be lacking without them in it. Weird I know, but it's so true. I didn't cry AS MUCH as I have with other books in the Caged series, but I still had a few moments where the tears were leaking out my eyes and I had to hurry and wipe them away before my husband noticed.
As usual, Ruby has a plate full in STRAYED. The UK boys have joined her pack and are in her space while her upstairs studio is converted into new bedrooms for them. We get a surprise from Cooper's past and I rather liked this surprise and see great things coming in the future. Scarlet's memories are starting to bleed through to Ruby and she is as determined as ever to find out what happened when she was missing. Lots happens with her relationship with Sean, but you will have to read to find out what.
This book felt REALLY long. So much happens in the many pages. There are lots of answers given to pretty much every question you have ever asked yourself in the previous books and I honestly can't tell you about any of them. OK I CAN, I just won't. Trust me, you will thank me later. The last pages make it clear that the crap is about to hit the fan once again. I hope that Amber doesn't take too long to write book 7 because I want to know what will happen next.
* This book was provided free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.
HOLY MOTHER FUCKING SHIT – my exact words to Amber when I finished this book. I am still trying to pick my jaw up from off the floor.
This series just blows me away!! I absolutely love it and this book just reiterates why!! If you have not started this series yet – NOW IS THE TIME!!!
Amber holds nothing back in Strayed – it is all out there. I will say nothing more than that though. You must read to see what I mean.
“All was right with the world, if only for that moment. And that was where I choose to live – in the moment – because in a life like mine, one could never be too certain when the moments would end.”
Ruby and Scarlet are trying to come to terms with one another. But secrets will always cause problems if they are not disclosed. But what if sometimes those secrets will cause more harm than good if they are let out??
Ruby is dealing with having new roommates and trying to move forward with her life all the while shit always seems to find her. Her CF list always to seem to be added to – nothing ever taken away.
And just when she Ruby thinks she has all the answers – another twist is thrown into the whole mix. Things never are as they seem. Ruby has so many people in her life – she is never sure where to turn or who to really trust.
This story will pull at you. Have you guessing at every corner. Amber does a phenomenal job at keeping you on your toes the entire ride. You will be gasping, shaking your head in disbelief, finding yourself going “WTF!!”, and just sheer shock and awe as you read. You will get answers to questions that have lingered, but in true Amber Natusch fashion – those answers will just cause you have to more questions!!
There are so many great surprises in this book. I found myself elated at some and others just pure shock. You will absolutely love this book in the series. I truly believe this is my favorite one!!
These characters have all grown on me. I really enjoy reading the banter between all the characters. It just gives you a stronger connection to not just the story, but the characters themselves. You truly feel what they are feeling.
“By realizing that who you are is not defined by what you’ve done."
Amber – you have done it once again – given me what I wanted and left me wanting even more! BRA-FUCKING-O!!!!
Go buy this book NOW!!! You are absolutely insane not to!
I was among the lucky few who received an ARC from the author.
I have been a Ruby fan for a long time. The characters, settings, situations, and world that Amber creates is like long lost memories from your past; like having amnesia and reading your old diary entries to try and remember. Each and every story gets inside your head and leaves its mark. These stories not only become part of you but part of your past, present, and future. You cling to each story in anticipation of the roller coaster ride that your friends are going to take you on. You cry for these people; scream at them for stupid shit; get scared for them; and laugh at their humorous nature. They aren't stories so much as a missing part of who you are.
In Strayed, a lot of things happen and most all of the questions that have been posed have been answered. But it also brings new questions to light. This story isn't over by any means. Not yet. There are more trials and tribulations and adventures yet for the gang. Some, I'm sure, will be hard to bear, but Amber does a great job of helping you make peace with it. But know this: when you pick up Caged and start reading, you are making a commitment to these people. You will weather the storm and go on the roller coaster even though you are afraid of heights. And every second of it will be worth it.
Caged is one of those series that always makes my top 5 list(in no particular order) of all series I read, and believe me that is saying a lot! It feels like it’s been forever waiting for this book, but it was worth every minute of the wait.
For those unfamiliar with this series, its about Ruby, a formerly blind, jewelry maker. It’s also about Scarlet, the rarest of all werewolves, that lives within Ruby. And yes, they are two distinct, completely different personalities, inside of Ruby. While Ruby is a good, caring person, loyal friend, with a side of snark, Scarlet is unbelievably strong in both mind and body, revengeful at times, stubborn, and mostly hardhearted. She’s pretty scary when she takes over, whether she is in her human body or as a wolf. Sean is Ruby’s love, and is the leader of the immortal PC, the organization that polices the supernatural. Cooper is Ruby’s best friend, roommate, and her alpha. He has been my favorite of all the characters since the first book. Gavin is the enigma, and the person that causes Ruby to tear her hair out due to his riddles. The new members of the pack, Alistair, Janner, and Beckett, are also back to add to the levity and chaos of Ruby’s life. Peyta, the teenage healer for the PC, and human, has a big surprise of her own this time. There are more characters, both good and bad, and I could go on and on. Happily, they were all back for this installment. The question here is, are they all going to still be there at the end?
Ruby’s got her hands full, juggling the new members of the pack-the boys from England-and all the renovation of her third floor for their living quarters. On top of that, Scarlet’s memories of her three week missing in action time, are now showing up in Ruby’s head. Ruby both wants to know what happened but also, is afraid to know. And the more the visions come, the worse it gets. Another stray from England shows up in the form of Lyla, Cooper’s childhood friend. Neither knew the other was even around, so even more surprises.
Trouble follows Ruby around like a puppy, and the life and death moments just keep coming. She can be so maddening when she takes off on her own without a word to anyone, almost gets killed on several occasions, to the point that the reader can’t help but to yell at her during this book, or really any of the books. Or maybe that is just me. I don’t always like that in a character, but with Ruby, she just can’t help it. She cares so deeply about people and she just wants to help. Through it all, the reader gets caught up in all things Ruby. Her love of Sean, Cooper, Peyta and others, her fashion commentary, even her trying to learn to play poker, makes her endearing to the reader. It’s all told in the first person of Ruby, and it has always worked for me, brilliantly.
A lot happens in this book, and to be honest I am not telling! The readers of this series have been waiting patiently for over a year or better, and they need to NOT know what happens ahead of time. We finally get almost all of the answers to everything we have been needing to know. So yes, this is the book of answers. I loved the whole thing, and as usual with this author, it is very well written. I will recommend this book to all adult paranormal romance or urban fantasy fans, as I have done since I read the first one. You will laugh at times, you might even cry, but I can all but guarantee you that you will have a good time reading this series. It should be noted that it is not a standalone book, and should be read in order.(RabidReads.com)
To continue to write a series where you are captivating the reader and holding them tight is a huge accomplishment (I believe) never a dull moment in this series.
YOU MUST READ TARNISHED BEFORE THIS BOOK!! There are things you will need to understand prior to READING Strayed.
I absolutely love this series, EXCEPTIONAL! Amber Lynn Natusch has amazingly grabbed us and held our attention with this series. Strayed is just as exceptional as all of the other books! To say that you will love this one as much as the other books is an understatement. I laughed, cried, held my breath, and had white knuckles holding onto my tablet while reading Strayed. I never want this to end.
Forgive: stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake. Forgiveness…...the action or process of forgiving or being forgiven.
Ruby keeps us on our toes with all her “adventures” just wait till you read what happens with her. She really takes us on a rollercoaster, she has found herself in a desperate situation and it looks like there is no way out this time for her. Sean, well I felt for him so much in this book, I held my breath many times and cried several times for him. Gavin, we learn so so so much about him, oooooo just you wait to read that!!! I really was not liking that guy but now, well now I see him differently. Cooper and all the guys are here too along with a new member of the pack. Alan, we know Ruby loves him like family and they are in grave danger. Ronnie…...OMG! (that’s all you get)
So, the question is ….Will Sean save Ruby yet again? Can he? Will we find out Gavin’s true intentions with Ruby? Cooper, will he ever find HIS mate? Trust me you will get the answers you seek…...lol. *wink enjoy! :)
OMG, there is a reason why this is my favorite series and why Amber is my favorite author. She never fails to deliver.
So this book is everything I had hope for; it is clarity, a breath of fresh air, answers to questions I'm sure you had from all the other books. The spin this book takes is everything. In this book, things that I didn't expect hit me, I for once wasn't expecting the connection of Ruby and the extinction of the Fey. I did however see Gavin coming, only one thing about him was unexpected.
The plot is just pure genius, the way is written, and how all of the pieces fall into place, how easy is to make the connection once the other 6 books are fresh in your mind, and I love that Kierson made an appearance in this book, which by the way is my favorite character from Unborn. I love how Coop came to be the Alpha, totally caught me off guard!
Even though Sean and Ruby's relationship suffered a great length, I think it was a necessity, things can't always be rainbows and unicorns, specially not in this series which is what I love the most. Right when you think everything is going to be fine... Danger appears again. Having a "rat" between them is the most interesting thing and I can't wait to see how it develops! 2 more books and sadly the series will be done. I can't believe how infinitely sad this makes me!
All in all this is the best book of the whole series so far and it is worth more that 5 stars. Amber does it again. I have recommended this series before and I will continue on doing so. Best ever

Whew! I love the twist and turn of this book. It kept me on edge until the very end! The author definitely nailed it!
Good thing I re-read "Tarnished" before I read this. So if you have not, follow the author's advise and read it or re-read it. Yes, this book was simply amazing. I did not expect the mind-boggling revelation that's why I love it. Usually (especially lately) I already know the outcome of the book that I'm reading. But this was totally different and so unexpected. And I agree with the other reviewers, this is the best book in the series.
I’m going to play Captain Obvious for a few and let you know a little something about Amber Lynn Natusch and the Caged series as a whole. I have spent five and a half books prior to Strayed following this pattern:
One step forward (a morsel of information)
Two steps back (questions I am left with)
Two steps forward (a few more morsels of information)
Twelve steps back (more questions I’m left with) with a big side of WTF?!?
And so on and so forth…
Probably more than any other series, the Caged series is INFAMOUS for leaving you with more questions than answers.
Until now.
For all you hardcore fans out there (admittedly, I am part of said crowd), STRAYED finally answers some of the questions that have been piling up mercilessly since the first book in the series. We have waited more than a year for this sixth installment, and, I assure you, all of the long sought after answers you get sprinkled throughout STRAYED’s 482 pages make every second worth it. This book is a lot longer than the previous books in the series, but I can say with all confidence that it needed to be. It’s just what the story needed. There’s a lot to this book, but, trust that it was all necessary. No fluff, people!
So, let’s talk technical stuff. As I mentioned, I’ve been following this series since day one. I have had the pleasure of being friends with the author since reading Caged back when it was first released. I have watched her grow as a writer, and I have to say, STRAYED is by far the best book in the series. This book shows her really stretching her legs as a writer. There’s an ease in her storytelling now that shows she’s really settled into a comfortable groove with her writing. She’s always been a good writer, but this book really shines in comparison to the rest of the series. And this is coming from the chick who has militantly stood by Scarred as the best book in the series. The flow of the story in STRAYED just feels very organic from cover to cover, and it’s just got something the previous books were…..lacking? I don’t feel like lacking is the right word, because they weren’t lacking exactly. Natusch just seems to have really come into it and she has arrived, my friends.
Now the story.
Be prepared. You’re going to need a few things while reading STRAYED. First, tissues. Lots and lots of tissues. And just when you think it’s safe to put them away, your face will start leaking various fluids again, so, keep them handy. Next, you’re probably going to need a Glock. Well, you wont need one, but there are parts of this book that will piss you off so bad that you’ll WANT one. I am one of those people who gets personally offended on behalf of the characters I love, and this is one of those books which is just chock full of those moments. Ruby finds out some shit in this book that is just……..ugh…… A few of the revelations we get in STRAYED aren’t exactly ringing endorsements for a few of the folks who surround our girl, so, yeah, a Glock.
Remember that time when Scarlet went, like, WAY the fuck off the rails for a little bit and locked Ruby up inside her own head??? Well, you find out in this book exactly what she was up to during that time, and prepare yourselves, fellow readers. That shit ain’t good. That little nugget of info is going to sting for a good, long time, I think. It’s one of many all-out nut shots in this book. That being said, there are a few moments in this book that reminded me why Scar is and always has been my favorite character in this series, like this one:
“I am what nightmares are made of.” Her voice was empty and hollow. She wasn't putting on a show for once. Instead, in a rare moment of purity, she illustrated how she truly saw herself. “I am a plague. A plight. A bane of human existence. To know me is to know death. To cross me is to wish for it.”
Totally bad ass, right?!?!?
I could go on an on about the various bits of OMG and WTF moments in STRAYED, but I don’t want to risk giving anything away. Let’s just say this. All the questions you have…
Where did Scar go during that time and what did she do?
Who the fuck is Gavin?
Why is Gavin such an annoying prick?
What is Sean hiding?
Can Ruby really trust anyone around her?
Does Ronnie have a hot poker up her ass?
Who killed Ruby’s parents?
Etc., etc., etc..
MOST of these get answered in STRAYED. I’m not going to mislead you, though. There are a few questions which arise from this book. Frankly, it wouldn’t be an ALN joint without more questions, but you’ll walk away from this book reeling from all the shit you find out, I promise you that. I’m not going to say you walk away feeling BETTER about shit, because I certainly didn’t, but, you will definitely feel a little bit more in the know. Okay, a lot more in the know.
As always, for fans of really good urban fantasy with a light dose of paranormal romance, you’d love STRAYED. However, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE SERIES. The Caged series is not a collection of tied-together stand alones. This is a series which requires you to follow from book one. Do it. You know you wanna…..
Another great book by Amber Lynn Natusch! Up till 3am because i couldn't put it down! I'm starting the next book in the series immediately, i can sleep tomorrow night. I love her characters, and love to hate some of her characters. And Natusch never fails to surprise me time after time, such a refreshing deviation from the predictable stories i so often find. Enough review writing, her next book awaits!

This isn't my favorite of the series. It frustrated me and not in a good way. That was mainly the first half of the book though, once all that...mess stopped, I enjoyed the second half. This series really knows how to mess with your emotions. Good job!
And answers from the Past come flying. In this book many things that were not known own become known. The can of worms that opens is astronomical. Best book in the series!
The Caged world will forever be one of my absolute favorite worlds, and I decided that a full reread was in order. I may not have started this world from the true beginning, but the whole world is absolutely epic.
Scarlett…. Scarlett…. Scarlett… yes, I know I have started other reviews in this series with a similar head shake, but come on Scarlett, what did you do while Ruby was locked away. She got up to some shady shady shenanigans during this time & it is going to be a long road to heal with both Ruby and Sean.
This book brings us closer to the end & it is the longest in the series, jam packed with so much going on! What a great book!
What an amazing read and an extraordinary series. It draws you in and takes hold, not letting go till the very end. And leaves you begging for more. Happy Reading
I literally just finished reading this. I'm still reeling. Just…wow! I've been a die hard fan of Amber’s since I devoured the first two books in quick succession. By the third, I was addicted. I needed my next fix like the book-crack addict I’d become. With each book, I fell more and more in love with this series and the amazing characters that Amber created. Every book was better, more intense, more crazy than the last. Always the beacon for trouble and at the heart of danger, Death courted Ruby like no other. If it wasn't one random thing, trying to kill her, use her, control her, it was another. Or so you thought… The questions kept mounting, adding more fuel to the riddles that you needed to solve. Taking the reader on this frantic journey Ruby’s life had become since gaining her sight and, at times an unwanted alter-ego named Scarlet. Her wolf.
This book was no exception!
After what felt like forever waiting for this book, which in reality, for the amazing quality of the writing and the intricate twists and turns the story needed to take, unraveling six books worth of secrets. It was ridiculously quick. For three days, I lived and breathed this book. Up till the crack of dawn each night and forgoing food for words on my lunch breaks just so I could devour more of this. I couldn't read fast enough, each word, each layer of the story needed to seep in and weave it's magic in my brain and my heart. If I could have, I would have called in sick, locked myself in my room and not come out until I was done. Alas, life is cruel and I had to be patient. It's starts with a preface, where Amber instantly grabs you (as she does), forcing your attention and refusing to let it go, holding you by the feels and handcuffing your brain so you have no choice but to submit to the mind f*ckery that’s to come. You can feel it, the slow burn of the story stoking the fire and my heart beat quicker with each chapter. The proverbial shoe just waiting to drop, would slip just that little bit more. Sometimes it would be quick, and I'd find myself gasping as the shoe would dangle around my toes, just millimeters from falling. I'd curse, shaking my kindle, phone, iPad, whatever had the battery life, desperately hoping I could somehow transmit the answers from the device to my brain. But then I'd miss this perfectly played journey Amber takes you on. It has it all.
All the Lolz, "Wait. You mean something actually has you baffled? There's a puzzle that you can't solve? Saints be praised," I mocked, lifting my hands to the heavens. "Gavin the Great has been stumped. Never thought I'd live to see the day." "That's because you're often lucky to see tomorrow, living the way you do, my dear"
All the swoon, "Then why are we discussing this when what we should be doing is greeting one another in a scandalous way." "Point made." I replied, jumping out of my seat to climb him monkey-style and stare into his eyes. "You're still not kissing me," he warned playfully.
All the feels, Shock did that; it sucked you dry of anything other than basic survival functions. Breathing. Heartbeat. And even those seemed to be failing me. I was already dying.
ALL THE ANSWERS!!! (***Spoilers****) Hehehe
And when they finally come. HOLY CRAP ON A POPSICLE STICK!!!!! Mind, blown! A few I had some inklings of, yet still not quite on the mark. Others, god, those others. No freaking clue. And for me, that is rare that I don't see what's coming, how something is more than likely going to play out. Like I said, I'm reeling. It ended with a.n epilogue. One of the most emotionally charged and information overloaded epilogues I've ever read. I felt every word of it. Once again finding myself desperately awaiting the next installment and wanting to dive back in and start the ride all over again!
All I have to say is, well played Natusch, well played.
I'd also highly recommend rereading at least fractured and tarnished before starting this one. You really need the refresher. Nothing is as it seems and everything has it's purpose.
I was provided this ARC by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
In my pre-reading research, I stumbled upon a report that Natusch was recommending readers re-read Fractured (Caged #5) and Tarnished (Caged #5.5). I’ve gotta say, I balked at that suggestion. There are too many books, too little time as it is, and to ask readers to re-read an installment? Well, that takes balls. I admit, I’m a rule-follower with a whisper of a non-conformist streak, so I compromised so as to give Strayed a fair shake. I don’t usually do novellas, but I read Fractured and, wow, am I glad I did. Not only did the novella fill in a lot of gaps and set the table nicely for Fractured, it also granted readers some quality time with first-rate alpha Sean. So, if you haven’t read this series, for the sake of all that is holy, stop reading this review and get a copy of Caged immediately. You won’t be sorry and I’ll totally envy you your fresh reading journey. I’ve come to the determination that Caged is among my top five paranormal series. Not one installment has disappointed. It’s action packed and riveting, and the characters rock. All of them. The novel opens with Ruby reconciling herself with her sinister other half, Scarlett. Scarlett has been roaming the earth and has stories to tell, but she’s clammed up and isn’t talking. Ruby also knows that her otherworldly boyfriend, Sean, is less than forthcoming. Unanswered questions, an ever-expanding pack, and a suspected high-level conspiracy have Ruby reeling. Throw in the constant ominous chirping of the elusive Gavin and you have a manic plot line that sucks the reader in for the duration. Sometimes a book grips me. Like really grips me. So much so that I read on my lunch break, I read while making dinner, I’ve even been known to finish a page mid-diaper change. Strayed is one of these books. The characters, as previously mentioned, are interesting and endearing. Ruby is the perfect combination of strength, softness, and quirk. Her internal other-self, Scarlett, does cool , philosophical psychopath so well. Sean, who struggles with his own inner duality, is equal parts fiercely protective, loving partner and stone-cold asshole. And, what para devotee can resist an asshole? In short Natusch delivers. Rereading Fractured was unnecessary. The author does a good job reminding the reader without being redundant. So, although I didn’t heed it entirely, Natusch is allowed to make a ballsy suggestion. Her series is the whole package.
Here is the thing, Amber knows how to mess with your emotions as a reader. She drags you along this roller coaster of feelings and then abruptly dumps you on your ass at the very end leaving you bewildered and shaken and completely ready for another ride because you have an unhealthily addiction to the way Amber makes you feel. This latest book Strayed is no exception to Amber's rule of three, make you giggle from her multiple one liners , make you screaming mad (will Ruby ever make it through a book without pissing us off at some point?) and make you hold your breath in fear (This works in many ways especially in this book. Fear for all the crap happening to and around Ruby as well has Fear that Amber will do the unthinkable and blast your favorite book couple to bits.) I should also state I do not know for a fact that this is Amber's writing formula so please don't run off and tell her after reading this review that you know she does this intentionally. It's just what I have observed as a fan. This book was however different in a huge way. We got all the answers. Who the f is Gavin? We now know. Who attacked Ruby and her parents? We now know. What did Scarlet do during the three weeks she locked Ruby out? We now know. (And trust me when I say you will not see this coming at all, ever!) There are even more answers in the book but honestly I'm still spinning so I know I'm missing stuff. Sue me.
So with that said I will leave you with this, you hands down absolutely need to reread tarnished at the very least before you read Strayed and if possibly the whole series otherwise it might be like jumping into the ocean without a floatie and not knowing how to swim any better than doggie paddling. Good luck to you fellow reader because Amber is about to give you emotional whiplash.
If you reading this and you haven’t read the any of the Caged Series yet, you should start now. Amber Lynn Natusch is a great story teller. Her characters are rich in personality. Every character has a unique voice and contributes in a way to the story that enhances it. They are not filler. ALN writing makes you laugh, and cry, even at the same time! The stories flow flawlessly.
Strayed is the 7th book in the Caged Series by Amber Lynn Natusch. All books must be read in order to understand Strayed. You must read Tarnished, a novella, book 5.5, to understand Strayed.
Strayed picks off shortly after Fractured ends. Ruby is remodeling her studio for the London Trio. With Cooper as her Alpha, the 5 of them are getting closer than ever. Between Gavin, Sean, mind-controlling technology, Ronnie, a new roomie, McGurney , Scarlet and the missing 3 weeks, Ruby’s plate is full of “clusterf*cks.” The past tests Sean and Ruby’s relationship. Ruby is starting to have flashes of Scarlet’s memories from the 3 weeks Scarlet was in charge. There is so much going on! There were answers to questions I’ve had since Caged. I can’t say any more without giving any spoilers away.
The story moves very quickly and is action packed. I laughed out loud numerous times. I felt the words of characters wound me as if they were said to me. There were mind blowing, jaw dropping moments. Few writers can tell a story as well as ALN can.
One-click this book, you will not be disappointed. If you can, follow Amber Lynn Natusch on FaceBook. She is hilarious. I review this book not because I received an ARC. I reviewed it because it was AWESOME.
I have to admit because of the long wait between books there were things I didn't remember but I took them at face value when "Ruby" reminds us.
Just another exciting installment! The thing with this series is that I've never been able to stop reading it once I start.
Ruby is a mess all the time. Cooper is super protective. Sean is dangerous and yet mesmerizing. And the more characters that latch onto Ruby and Scarlet the more story we seem to have.
I loved the turmoil in this book and how it really ripped down some of Ruby's relationships, including with her wolf, only to reform them with stronger ties.
I'm hoping we get to learn more about the mystery of the storage unit and that Alan is more involved in the next book.
All in all a great series, if you like supernatural fantasy. I for one do and this is one of my go to series's. I will be sad when it ends as there are only a 1 or 2 books left.
I have really enjoyed this series and was excited to get the next installment. Ruby is a hot mess, and trouble finds her wherever she goes. This book is no exception, taking her to new lows both in her relationships and, well, literally. The series is almost complete and I will miss Cooper, Peyta, Alistair, Jay, Sean and Ruby. Gavin hasn't quite grown on me yet, but I look forward to his storyline growing. While things in this book took a different turn than I expected, bringing in new immortals and supernaturals, it still kept me interested and reading nonstop. I like her humor and how she handles relationships, and while Sean and Ruby's relationship became much deeper, and her relationship with Gavin is growing, I missed a bit of the humor in this one that was more prevalent in previous books. Nevertheless, it is a very enjoyable series and I look forward to #6.5 and #7 coming soon (though not soon enough!)
Love the series. Love the suspense. Not knowing when and what is going to happen next, and the fact that it is intense, and an action packed heroine, with a split personality, that's funny too, makes it even better, plus the series keeps on keeping on. Down side of this series is that you have to wait over a year between books, and that blows when, you are a reader and reading a series trying to stay true to a series, no one enjoys re-reading a whole series every couple years that an author pops a book out. Especially since there have been several books written in between, and this ones taken forever to come out.....Now a whole another year before the next, but several other of her other books can be written. My advice to an author try to finish something, before starting several other projects, because it hurts your fan base.
When the release date for Strayed was announced, I knew that I would need to re-read and re-familiarize myself with Ruby and and company. The progression of the story and the steady improvement of the writing style and sophistication have been a pleasure to experience. Strayed twists and turns made this book the best of the series. When I started reading Caged I was not aware of its "paranormal" status, and had not read any books in that genre but I was pleasantly surprised with the storyline, humor and interesting characters. I definitely recommend this series and as usual, this book leaves you wanting more! Thank you Amber for another great escape, it will take patience to wait for the next one!
WOW!! This has twists and turns I didn't see coming. I loved having Scarlet back although she isn't quite herself. So much has happened to Ruby and she isn't done yet! Make sure you read the novella it helps a lot. It will give you a lot of A-Ha moments! At least it did for me. I love how Natusch will solve the immediate mystery, but the series still has the underlying mystery waiting to be solved. I can't wait for the next book. This is my favorite book of the series so far! I am totally obsessed with this series. If you're looking for an amazing paranormal series to obsess over this is it!!
The Caged series has been one of my favorites and even though it took me a while to get to "Strayed", it was certainly worth the wait.....so many twists and turns....so many answers to our questions from previous books...so so freaking GOOD! I LOVE Ruby and finally getting the truth of why she is who she is just makes me love her more...all the characters in this series are fab...even the ones you dislike! And then there's Sean.....(SIGH)... Thanks for a fantastic read Amber Lynn Natusch.....❤️
An awesome addition to a great series. Amber Lynn Natusch doesn't let us down in this next installment of the Caged series where chaos and edge of your seat plot twists seem to surface on every page. Ruby/Scarlet seem unable to keep themselves out of trouble as usual and new characters and old friends make for an interesting household. Sean and the PC have more on their plate than they can handle when Gods get involved and secrets are revealed. I cannot wait for the next book!
I have been addicted to this series from the very beginning of Caged. All the books up till this one have had some enticing twists and turns that leave you wanting more... This book had me even more on the edge of my seat than all other 6 books combined. I would highly recommend this book and the entire series. The sister series also proves to be just as enticing.
