DISCLAIMER: I started reading this boxset on 7 September and read the first two books but then I had a lot of review copy books that needed to be read in a set timeframe, so I stopped reading so this is a partial review of the first two books in this series, and haven’t had a chance to pick it back up yet.
I’m pretty new to Kendall Talbot’s work and I’m looking forward to reading more. Each book in this collection has been reviewed separately. Good collection of stories that I couldn’t put down.
Risky Attraction - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good start to Wolf Security Series, which is a spin-off to Kendall’s Alpha Tactical Ops Series. Man, my heart hurt for everything Piper, her daughter Scout and Ryder have been through. I definitely don’t fault Ryder for his anger at his deceased wife Erin, especially the decisions she made on that fateful day which Ryder tried to stop her but she wouldn’t listen, so Ryder followed since one of the most important rules of scuba diving is to have a diving partner just incase something goes wrong.
I think Piper and Ryder make an amazing team, especially when Piper’s teenage daughter Scout is abducted. They have help from salvage expert Indi & her father, as well as the Alpha Tactical Ops team. After Scout was reunited with her mother, she let go of all of her anger as nothing that she was angry about was actually Piper’s fault but she had no one else to direct her anger at. This book is slow burn between Piper & Ryder which makes sense with everything going on, plus both of them have lost their spouses. I think Piper, Ryder & Scout are all going to be happy together.
Risky Desires - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good addition to Wolf Security Series, which is a spin-off to Kendall’s Alpha Tactical Ops Series. I thought that Indiana & Tyler make an awesome team, even with the differences between them. Wow, my heart hurt for everything both of them have been through. Indy watching her mother being murdered at 11 years old and her dad using alcohol to cope ever since.
Everything she had was tied up to her salvage boat/home called Rhino which she lost, as well as her father Old Smithy when her, Tyler & Old Smithy were on a mission assigned by Aria to retrieve whatever is at the bottom of the ocean that is sending a homing beacon to the secret computer that was discovered on Chui’s sunken yacht. Indi & Tyler barely escape with their lives. Tyler spent three years undercover in the Melbourne criminal underworld.
He made some decisions that ended with him justly shooting someone he grew to care about greatly, he now lives with the guilt as well as having a target on his back. Wow, the lengths people are willing to get to get their hands on Chui’s operations is absolutely horrifying, and I thought Chui was bad but whoever is running the show now is a completely another ball game. I didn’t really warm up to Kane much but I’m hoping we’ll get to see a softer side of him during his book.
I still haven’t had a chance to read Risky Obsession, Risky Romanance & Risky Passion as yet.
I’m looking forward to reading more books from Kendall Talbot in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
