The covers to the series are disturbing

I wish the series had different covers. I don’t understand the correlation. It looks like an older yt man and a very young blk girl and given that this is a romance read, it’s giving pedo. Knowing the characters are all over 25yrs old and are described differently than the covers helps but I don’t understand the choice. Anywho….

The vibe of this book is the same as book 1. The characters have not evolved any and we get the introduction of a fourth troubled soul. So now the love triangle is a love… square?

I’m still invested. I want Jasmine to wake up and start living for herself so bad. I’m glad that she has a new love interest. I just wish she was actually like him. Dante and Liz are still super cringey together and a part. I’m on to the next.

This is a quasi-love-triangle ... sort of.

Jasmine is in love with her best friend Dante though she never told him when two years later a woman named Liz befriends her to get close to Dante, she's successful and Dante starts dating her. The relationship between Dante and Liz has its up and downs and Jasmine is their Switzerland, she always tell them to communicate with one another.

When Liz secretly invades Jasmine's privacy and she shares the transgression with Dante, his reaction is more than she bargained for and it alters the way Dante sees Jasmine, so much so that he makes a life-changing decision. His last words had me on the edge of my seat, so on to the next book in the series.

I’m entrapped by this story despite its snail-like progression. Book two was less repetitive and ruminating than book one though it continued the theme of Jasmine being secretly in love with a hot Dante, her best friend and also the boyfriend of her best friend. The plot, while slow, made some strides on progressing the friend to lovers undercurrent. Showing more steam, at least for the main female character, this time, I was glad to read less of her on the sidelines and more of her having an honest relationship. I hate and wholeheartedly despise her best friend, Elizabeth. Jasmine is sweet while Elizabeth is cunning. As usual, there was a cliffhanger which makes you want to jump right into the next story, which I will do.

Oh wow, just wow.

I was wondering what could happen to cause these two to not be friends anymore. I’m so sad and super mad at Liz! She is such an insecure person that she ruined herself and everyone around her. Everyone in the story has the own emotional baggage individually and some of it together.
At first, I wasn’t too excited to read this book as I’m not used to the woman falling first and finding over the demand. However, in this instance? It really works. I almost can’t wait to find out the very end and there’s still five books to go.
All in all, this was a heartbreaking chapter in their story my favorite so far I can easily say out of one and two I hope it keeps can’t wait to get to the next one and find out!!

Welp, the toxic thruple has expanded. Jazzy and Dante still have feelings for one another, but even though Jazzy has a potential boyfriend, the feels are still bubbling to the surface. Jaz's life is put into jeopardy when she is attacked by some random strangers one night. Luckily for her she is rescued by a handsome stranger, Silius. And when i tell you that ALL of Dante's jealousy overflows!! Liz suspects that Dante is cheating on her and that Jazzy is covering for him. She is determined to catch him out and accidentally catches Jaz and Silius in bed, they dont hear her and she records them! Liz is officially garbage. This will be her downfall. 😤😡

Please SOMEONE help understand what Dante see’s in Elizabeth…I genuinely don’t understand it and the author has not done a good job explain for either. I am absolutely obsessed with this series and am burning through these books and I understand the slow burn of Dante and Jasmine but I absolutely don’t understand the Elizabeth relationship

it started off good and then blah

I really had High hopes for her but then she does this. Jasmine for real is a lost cause and Liz is weird as hell. Smh what a waste of space these main characters are.
Here’s to hoping the next book is more promising than this one.
It’s one bad choice after another smh

Dante is a good man

The way the author writes is addicting. I eat everything up. This book series is so good
I'm so happy it's 7 books because I'm 2 books down and nothing has happened between Dante and Jasmine. But I can't wait for it to go down, I want to keep reading, like I am invested in these character.

This was really Good

This could have been the first book in the series with limited editing to include parts of the just alright beginning book. Much more engaging and appealing with just enough tension and spice to make it interesting. Well done.

Jasmine needs better people in her life!

The past 2 books have shown me and proved Dante and Liz deserve each other they are both POS's!!!! This is the first series I've read where I hope the heroine doesn't get with the male. Dante can go to hell! Take Liz with him!!

Wow

I'm really at a loss. I knew I didn't like Liz. Now lets add Solar to the list. I do trust him. Trying to figure why I am continuing this charade. Is someone going to to tell Jazz?

Crazy

This story is a rollercoaster. Very hot but at times shocking and had themes I'd not seen in a romance before. Wow.

O MY GOODNESS

Elizabeth needs to be dropped of a cliff.

She deserves everything negative that comes her way.

3.50 Stars. (BW/WM). Audible free audiobook narrated for 6 hours by virtual voice. (291 pages)
SETTING: Dystopian American following another civil war ending with each state being an independent nation state. This story takes place in former eastern states and is called Sri-Nova.
TROPE: Unrequited love. Would be lovers stuck in the "best friend" zones.
MAIN CHARACTERS:
1. Dante Swanson, małe lead, gorgeous 40-year-old man working for the government as a guard and enforcer.
2. Jasmine "Jazzy", female lead, 31-year-old single, pretty dark skinned black woman laborer.
3. Elizabeth "Liz' is the pseudo best friend to Jazzy and live-in girlfriend of Dante who wants to get married.
4. Silas Ford Duchannon is the new love interest for Jazzy. Silas recently moved from the Southern Open Belt (formerly mid-west America). Silas rescued Jazzy from a vicious attack by three men. He sells custom make guns and is Dante's nemesis.

The story is not as redundant as the first and the virtual narration is good-not great; but good. This is a much longer story because each of the four characters is given space for their perspectives. In this installment: Dante is away on a long dangerous mission while away, Jazzy is attacked and seriously hurt; however, Silas rescues her and they become friendly. Silas is from and area that discourages whites and blacks being romantically involved. Dante doesn't trust Silas and Silas thinks there is more to Dante and Jazzy's relationship than friendship. Jazzy tells Silas that she loves Dante but is trying to move on because he might marry Elizabeth. Dante walks in on Jazz going down on Silas and they argue but later make up. He questions his relationship with Liz and has a wet dream about Jazzy. Elizabeth's suspicious jealousy drives her to do the unforgivable...thinking that Jazzy and Dante are more than friends, she films Silas going down on Jazzy and insists that Dante watch. She gives him a hand job while he watches as she gages his reaction. Dante is angry that Liz took the video and that she insisted that he watch. He was already feeling guilty about being away when Jazzy was attacked and now he's seeing Jazzy as a woman with sexual desires. The installment ends when Dante arrives at Jazzy's apartment.
