I adore Mae K. Knight's books and was thrilled to hear that the more taboo and forbidden stories are under M.M. Knight. Daddy's Friend: The Principal was pretty straightforward—age Gap, dad’s best friend. Rowan is Ember’s principal. The story is under 90 pages. Everything happens fast—just how I like it when it comes to these types of stories, because sometimes I don’t have the time for anything more. Rowan has a filthy mouth, and the scenes between him and Ember are steamy hot. Rowan falls pretty hard for her, too. I enjoyed it!
AGE-GAP. Forbidden. Drama-packed. And a whole lot of spice.
This book is definitely smut-heavy with only a small amount of plot, but honestly? That worked for me. The FMC is completely head over heels for her principal, and he feels exactly the same. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the forbidden aspect only makes it more addictive to read.
Of course, their relationship doesn’t come without drama. Her dad (who just so happens to be the principal’s best friend) is not okay with it, and her ex-boyfriend—the typical jock—decides to stir things up in a big way. The twist that happens because of his actions? Insane. I didn’t see it coming, and it definitely upped the drama factor.
This book is definitely on the taboo side, but it delivers exactly what it promises: lots of steam, some drama, and a touch of emotional tension. Everyone is 18+, though the FMC is still in high school, so keep that in mind before diving in.
⭐️ 5/5 stars – because it gave me all the spice and drama I wanted 🌶️ 4.5/5 peppers – smut lovers, this one won’t disappoint
If you enjoy age-gap, forbidden romance, and smut-forward stories, this will absolutely hit the spot.
This book was outside of my usual comfort zone. The age-gap, forbidden romance theme is definitely bold, and the author writes with energy and a good sense of pacing. The chemistry between the characters is there, and I can see how readers who enjoy steamy, fast-moving romances would find it entertaining.
That said, for me, the story felt a bit too rushed at times. I would have liked more depth to the characters—something beyond horniess—to make their choices feel more believable. It's not plausible to me to have a man in a position of authority deflower his best friend's daughter and then everyone be ok with that as a family.
Overall, it’s not a bad story, and it may be just right for younger readers of this genre who like quick, fantasy passionate reads. For me, it was fine, but not one I’ll be rereading.

Father's Best Friend Romance. Ember is a young student dating her school's quarterback, but she secretly has a crush on Rowan, her principal and especially her father's best friend. Rowan is a lonely man with no family. He can only count on his best friend, with whom he grew up in the system. So when he had a crush on his daughter, he tried to keep his feelings to himself. But now that she has confessed her feelings, it's hard for him to hold on. Will Rowan and Ember have a beautiful story….
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a taboo short story involving a principal and his student. It also includes the dad’s best friend trope. This book is marketed as light on plot and mostly spice which I am totally down for. However, I felt like there wasn’t enough spice which is why I gave it 4 stars. The spice that was there was great and very hot I just wanted more. In this case even though the plot was light there was still too much to be considered a mostly spice book. I still enjoyed it though and will probably read the other book in the series.
Once I received this book, I knew I needed to dive right into it. I loved the forbidden aspects for not only the principal but also father’s best friend trope.
I enjoyed seeing Rowan and Ember’s characters and how they interacted with one another. I was not a fan of Chad at all.
Ultimately, I am glad with how the book ended and was happy to see how things went in the epilogue.
Ember falls for her dads best friend who also happens to be her principal, Rowan. This is a fast paced hot read with great steamy scenes. I also really loved the beginning with all the girls together. Makes me want to reread some more of M.M.'s shorts!
While the characters are of age, do check the triggers!!
Wow, what a read. You will discover that once you start this book, there is no putting it down. It mvoes along at a pace that is perfect for the flow of this story which makes for an enjoyable read. These characters are interesting and unique and no matter what you will love them. This book is a must read, there is no doubt about it. You will not be disappointed.
If you love the forbidden, age gap, dad's best friend tropes then this is your book. Rowan is the principal at Ember's school. And once she ends up in the principal's office, she doesn't want to leave. She is very smitten with Rowan and he with her. Sparks fly. This is a short read but heavy on the smut. I loved it.
Taboo tale with the author's usual attention to detail with characteristic flair and intensity. Fast-paced as you'd expect from a novella, but still packs enough action into the story to be a satisfying read.
Short, spicy and taboo what more can a girl ask for. I couldn’t put this one down. Ember and Rowan are so good together. This one is definitely fast paced, but I enjoyed it.
For Ember, Rowan is off limits hes her fathers best friend and her principal but that won't stop the heat between them! Well written taboo, spicy hot quick read
Rowan and Ember have a very spicy and forbidden romance. It is a quick read that is heavy with the smut but also has a twist and plenty of drama and tension.
