The one person I loved most in the world was gone. What was I going to do? I had given up the last two years to take care of my mom and be with her until her last breath. She was my best friend.
At twenty-one, I was going back to school. That was what she had wanted for me. I was determined to own my own company one day. It was important to her that I finish school, and I wanted to make her proud. My father had passed away before she could tell him she was pregnant. She had given up so much to raise me alone. I knew she would have done anything for me.
The day after her funeral, I found a box in the attic with my name on it. She told me about the box the day before she passed, but I promised her I would wait to open it. When I opened the box, I found a letter on top. There was nothing that could have prepared me for what I was about to read. As I read the letter, tears fell from my eyes. I dropped the letter to the floor and tore through the box as I sobbed. My life would be changed forever. How could she have lied to me? How could the one person I trusted most have kept such a big secret from me?
There was only one person who could answer the questions I had, and I could only think of one way to get to him. I had to get a job, and there was only one company to work for. The only thing on my mind was getting answers.
One thing I didn't need were distractions.
Then he came along.
He was tall, built, tattooed, and oh so sexy.
In a suit he looked amazing, but in jeans and a tight t-shirt he was unbelievable.
Just when I thought he couldn't get any sexier, I saw him on his Harley.
I was in trouble.
I couldn't keep my thoughts straight.
He was cocky, full of himself, and held my fate at the company in his hands.
One minute I couldn't stand him, and the next I wanted him more than I had ever wanted anything.
Would I be able to get the answers I desperately needed before tall, dark, and sexy turned my world upside down?

Hot damn! This was not what I was expecting. I went from tears to blushing in a few minutes time. Great quick read! The characters made me care about them. Their emotions were flooding me. And...That ending!!! Yeah, I will be picking up part 2 ASAP!

Where do I start with this review!? The first thing that comes to mind is: Wow! With most contemporary romance books these days, you can tell the formula, if you will, of what is going to happen. Girl meets guy, guy sweeps girl off her feet, they have a sordid affair, something happens to tear them apart, they find their way back to each other. This book breaks that mold. Sharon Cummin found an interesting premise for the backdrop of her book. After being raised by her mother, and then later in life her grandparents, Brooke Smith is now left alone in the world. Through a twist she isn't expecting, Brooke finds she may have family left that she didn't know about. In order to find them, and to help pay for college, she goes to find work at a local office. Through this office, she finds friends, and possibly more.
As I said, this isn't your typical contemporary romance. Through this book, you can feel the romance build. You can feel the emotions evolve. You can feel. Period. And then it happens, you get to the end of the book. And Cummin leaves you wanting so much more, that you are wishing Part 2 came out last week! Wanting to find out what comes next. Wanting to find out how or even if it all works out. I am not normally a fan of multi-part books when they leave you hanging. And to be honest, this one definitely does that! The last page will leave you shattered, yet screaming for Part 2.
Well done, Sharon Cummin! You have made me an instant fan....and a fan looking forward to what is to come!

The lollipop has always been a fascination of many at one time or another. Not just because of the mouthwatering flavors that it invokes in us all but because of the anticipation of the first time we pop it in our mouths. From the closing of our eyes to the savoring of the perfect flavors that burst. An scrumptious flavor of a simple yet delicate delight.

Kevin is a hot guy that can have any woman that walks in his path. He has determination, success and goals that he wishes to conqueror. One nightstands have been the norm for him because no woman would be allowed to get in his path and sway him from it. What happens when a pretzel mishap comes into play though will he laugh it off or will he pick it up? Will this self proclaimed bachelor that has been driven find that a certain taste might be just the path and the sway?
Brooke and Kevin’s journey to this point have been easy fun and really hot in the bedroom but to what degree? Brooke has a secret that she is not going to reveal to Kevin. Is it for fear that he might not understand or is it the fear that he will run for the hills? This is the first part of this series so with that said you will have to pick up this amazing read.
To the author: Amazement, happiness and joy with a bit of sorrow is the most wonderful of elements that you have brought to these amazing characters. You have brought out once again in your words of art that this is a reality many have gone through and will continue too. You have a wonderment factor in this read that creates the perfect balance. Plus the HOT HOT HOT sex helps woohoo. Kevin is the new flavor on the ice-cream menu. Talk about yummy

Brooke Smith and her mother lived in Florida. When Brooke was ready for high school her mother thought it was time to move back home. She thought it was safe now to make the move. They moved in with Brooke's grandparents. This is the first time meeting them.
She went onto high school and was preparing for college and her grandparent were killed in an accident. So it was just her mother and her again. Brooke starts college and after a year in she quits to take care of her mother who was dying.
On her mothers last words for Brooke was that there was a box in the attic with Brookes name on it and not to open it until after the services. So Brooke gets the box and opens it. On top a letter from her mother. The news is shocking. Brooke proceeds to go thru the rest of the box and finds pictures and all the details of her father, whom she was told he had died. Brooke was upset that her mother had lied to her. How could the one person she trusted lie to her.
Brooke decides to get on with her life and find the answers she needs to what her mother had left in the box. And the first step is to get a job and there was one place that she needed a job at.
While waiting on interviews she was in the break room and in walks this hot as hell man, Kevin. She scares him with him not knowing she was in there and he drops his pretzels she proceeds to help pick them up and with one touch of him she feels the electricity go thru her. Kevin introduces himself and same for Brooke telling him shes there for a job interview.
She needed this job
1. For her answers
2. To help pay her way back thru college
3. To help pay her mothers medical bills
She didn't need any relationships now she has a goal and that doesn't include a Hot, Cocky, Sexy, Tattooed man to keep her from getting her answers.
This man held the key to her future and she didn't need his distractions. But he was sexy as hell and she wanted him one minute and the next she couldn't stand him.
Will Brooke get her answers? Or will she hit one major wall stopping her? Will she be able to keep the job she desperately needs?
I gave this 5+ stars. Its hot and sexy and who wouldn't want a man that is so sexy he sends electricity thru your body with one touch. I would definitely recommend this book. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. Sharon Cummin has one hot series here and I cant wait to get the next 2 installments of it.

"This book is Amazing!"
The Characters are awesome and the story line is incredible! .
It is kind of sad in the beginning. Brooke's Mom raised Brooke alone till she was in high school. Her Mom told her that Brooke's Dad died before she was born. When Brooke was in high school her Mom decided to Mom them in with her Grandparents. Brooke never knew her Grandparents till then. Two years later the Grandparents get killed in a automobile accident and leave their house to Brooke and her Mom. After Brooke's first year of college her Mom takes Cancer. Brooke drops out of college and gets a secretaries Job to help support them. Soon her Mom gets worse and Brooke quits that Job to stay home and take care of her Mom. Her Mom dies but leaves a box with a major surprise in it. Brooke"s Dad was not Dead ! Brooke sets out to get a Job at his company just so she can meet him .
Instead of getting a secretary job she applies for she is offered an assistant Job to the head of security super hot and sexy Kevin LOL. Brooke learns that this Man has an attitude that drives her crazy! not to mention the sexual tension between them :) . Erica Brooke's Dad's Assistant hired Brooke because she believed Brooke would be good for the company not to mention a very good fit for Kevin lol . Kevin does not know if he can handle Brooke! One minute he wants to fire her for her smart mouth the next he wants to screw the heck out of her.
Brooke needs this job so she can be close to her Dad to get to know him. Plus the company is going to pay for her to finish college , and the pay will help her pay off her Mothers debts Only can Brooke put up with Kevin with out quitting, getting fired or jumping his bones lol.
With this book you will cry, laugh so hard to you will about pee your pants, and sigh at the romance in it !. The story line is so incredible you will find it hard to put down!. I have read several of Sharon Cummin's books and this one is the most incredible I think so far!. Sharon is such a talented writer that you will find yourself very engrossed in her books :) . If I could I would give this book 10 plus stars! , And I look forward to reading part 2 I hope soon!

I just started to read this book tonight, and just read it straight through. I needed something light hearted and steamy, and His Assistant just nailed it.
Brooke has spent the last 2 years looking after her mother, whilst she is critically ill. She took a year out from college, studying Business, which turned in to 2 years. She moved home and spent the time with her mother, after her grandparents died, Brooke and her mother had nobody else. So after her mother passes away, Brooke is shocked to find her mother had left her a letter, telling her, her father had not passed away when she was a baby, like she was led to believe. He was in actual fact unaware that Brooke existed, as her mother left him when she was pregnant. She wanted him to follow his dreams of owning his own successful business.
Now Brooke is alone, and wants to see him. Even if he never knows who she really is. So she goes for a job at his very successful company. To see what he is like.
What she doesn't bank on, is meeting Kevin. Who she will be an executive assistant for. Of course, besides the fact that he is absolutely gorgeous. They seem to seriously wind each other up. Constant bickering ensues, and lots of hotter than hot chemistry and hilarious moments.
Now this is the first part in the series, and it's novella length. So we are just getting to know the characters and the attraction between Brooke and Kevin, which is tested to the extreme when they go on a work trip to Vegas. Although Brooke has met her father, and he does seem to be a really nice guy, and everyone has great things to say about him. This part in the book wasn't really focused on him.
The steam between Kevin and Brooke was totally hot, which was made so much better by the strange kind of relationship they had. One minute fighting, the other connecting. I loved how feisty Brooke was with Kevin, it made for some great one liners.
Now of course, there is a huge shocker of a cliffhanger, which I'm dying to know the full details of that bombshell.
Can't wait for the next one in the series.

I was given a copy of this book directly by the author in exchange for my honest review.
A diamond in the rough. That is how I would best describe this story.
Let's start with the good points. I really liked both Brooke and Kevin. I felt sympathy for Brooke's situation and understood her motives for getting the job she did at the company she chooses. I liked Kevin's alpha male tendencies as well as when he showed his softer side. And the sexual tension between the two was believable. I enjoyed their banter as they both fought their growing attraction to each other. The sex scenes were somewhat cliche driven - his size especially, because alpha males are always huge - but not to the point where I felt the need to skim them. And that cliffhanger at the end, leading you into Part 2 - brilliant! Then again, I love a good cliffhanger and actually expect there to be one in a series structured such as this.
Now for the constructive criticism. The author has a habit of narrating rather than letting the action happen on its own. This bucks the new convention of "show don't tell" that most writers have adopted, and most readers are used to. There are paragraphs that take up entire Kindle screens that feel like an information dump. These long paragraphs would be better served being split up into smaller sections, as they don't always pertain to the same thought or idea. And things are repeated, sometimes in the same paragraph, but definitely throughout the story. Sometimes to the point of ad nauseam. There are some typos, and one instance that sticks out during a Brooke chapter where we shift from 1st person to 3rd person and then back.
That being said, the issues that I noted did not dissuade me from wanting to continue on with the story, which attests to how much I really liked it. I want to find out what happens next and how exactly Brooke and Kevin will face the reality of what they've done.
This is a good concept for a story, but a bit of polishing could make it even better.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review ,,,
So we have Brooke ,,, a young woman who has suffered from loss and is alone in the world ,,, but after her mothers recent passing Brooke was given some information that has left her questioning her life so far ,,, she gave up all she had and knew to care for her mother only to find out she had been deceived her entire life ,,, Brooke doesn't hold grudges and knows her mum always strived to do the best by her ,,, so now Brooke is on a mission ,,,, to find and meet her father ,,, but she doesn't want him to know who she is yet
Brooke needs to start moving forward with her life so she makes plans ,,, back to school and a job ,,, but the job has a number of advantages ,,, not just monetary either
So now we meet Kevin ,,, there is an instant attraction between the pair ,,, but there is also a large amount of mutual irritation between them too :) ,,, BUT Kevin is Brooke's boss ,,, she can't possibly lose her job ,,, it's her link to paying all her mothers medical bills and to getting to know her father discreetly ,,, but will they manage to stay away from each other?
Well without spoiling anything for you let me just say there is a twist at the end of this book ,,, it will hit you like a ton of bricks ,,, you'll be cursing at you kindle (or whichever device you have) and Sharon Cummin ,,, and the moment part 2 is released your gonna be desperate for it ,,, I know I am ,,, be warned its a cliffhanger ending and will hopefully resolve some of the issues present in this book in the next
I've enjoyed reading this one ,,, it is a comical romance the banter that flies between the main two characters is humorous but you can also feel the connection between the two ,,,

Brooke needs to start moving forward with her life so she makes plans ,,, back to school and a job ,,, but the job has a number of advantages ,,, not just monetary either
So now we meet Kevin ,,, there is an instant attraction between the pair ,,, but there is also a large amount of mutual irritation between them too :) ,,, BUT Kevin is Brooke's boss ,,, she can't possibly lose her job ,,, it's her link to paying all her mothers medical bills and to getting to know her father discreetly ,,, but will they manage to stay away from each other?
Well without spoiling anything for you let me just say there is a twist at the end of this book ,,, it will hit you like a ton of bricks ,,, you'll be cursing at you kindle (or whichever device you have) and Sharon Cummin ,,, and the moment part 2 is released your gonna be desperate for it ,,, I know I am ,,, be warned its a cliffhanger ending and will hopefully resolve some of the issues present in this book in the next
I've enjoyed reading this one ,,, it is a comical romance the banter that flies between the main two characters is humorous but you can also feel the connection between the two ,,,

This books starts of with meeting Brooke who is going through the worst time of her young life. Her mother, the woman who raised her alone and cared for her with everything she had has passed away. While dealing with her grief Brooke opens a box of secrets that set her world on its axis. There is only one person who can answer the million questions that Brooke now has and in order to get close to him she needs a new job.
Starting a new job that is going to allow her to hopefully get closer to the truth, allow her to get back to school but also find some interesting work partners.
Then she meets her new boss; the incredibly arrogant, sexy, tattooed, office rebel, Kevin. OH, Kevin...I totally loved him. He could run hot to cold in a nanosecond but Brooke does something unexpected to him and he is not quite sure how to handle that.
The dialog between characters was refreshing and flowed really well. The banter was great and made me snicker. Brooke knows how to push Kevin's buttons and Kevin knows how to push hers, that made their developing relationship fun to read. The sexual tension was great and the sex was HOT.
BUT!!! That end about killed me...I am pretty sure the works WHAT came out of my mouth.
Can't wait for book 2!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
His Assistant (part 1) by Sharon Cummins is the first in a three part series. I LOVED this book. OMG Sharon what have you done to me? I need the second book like yesterday! The book was good for several reason, hot alpha male, the conversations between characters at times was so funny, and the connection between the two main characters. Brooke has been raised by her mother in Florida and they moved back to her mothers home town. Brooke then gets to meet her grandparents who help raise her now that she is in high school. Tragedy has struck twice and she has lost both her mother and her grandparents. But before her mother dies she tells Brooke to look in a box. Once Brooke looks in the box secrets are revealed that changes her life. The only way to get answers is to get a job at Luke Technologies. This is where she meets her boss Kevin. The attraction between the to is hot. But what happens when Brooke overhears a conversation that Kevin is having with their boss may change everything! I would recommend this book 100%. I sat down curled up on a Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine and some chocolate ( bliss )
This book had me hooked quickly , the story is some what different to others
Poor Brooke has lived a hard life with only a mum to bring her up put her threw school .
After a change in circumstances Brooke is now fending for herself .
Getting a job and going back to school .
The plan she has laid out has to work .
Lots of thing happen and Im my sence to say things happen for a reason I'm hoping this works out for her
Im Wondering wether Brooke can keep herself on her task ahead or if this has just gone tits up .
A stubborn hot as hell guy who thinks he is just the best , that leaves Brooke dumb founded agitated as well as wet
Best laid plans sometimes go wrong
The book will have you needing to read more . It was very well written kept me captivated and needing to read on until the finished only gutted as I have to wait for the next bit

His Assistant will be more than Mr. Reynolds bargained for....this book was such a delight, Brooke is so easy to love. Her life is no picnic and she has dealt with so much on her own. After her mothers passing she learns a secret that changes her world. Finding out she has a father leads her to apply to his company so she can get to know him. She doesn't want anything but to meet the father she never knew. Getting the job is a rush and seeing her encounters with the other employees is delightful. However there are sparks between her and her boss that she is not quite sure about, but definitely are HOT HOT HOT! Mr. Reynolds is such an overbearing boss, but Brooke puts him in his place a time or two, even if he is getting under her skin. And when they have to travel for business together, who says everything that happen in Vegas stays in Vegas....lol...such a wicked way to end this book....and am desperately moving onto book two!! *giggles* I am holding my breath...because ewwww otherwise...lmao

Wow!!! The way these two burns up the pages is amazing. I could not put this one down till I hit the last page. When I did hit the last page I was looking at it CLIFFHANGER!!!!!! Brooke has been through so much and just when you think it's all going to be ok her rug is pulled from her and you wonder just how much more she is going to have to take its life. After losing her mom, she finds out that her mom kept a very big secret from her and that left her with so many questions with no one to ask. She takes a job at a very well establish company with a goal in mind. That is gold comes with a distraction she was not planning on when Kevin walked into her life. When these two take off they take off and you just want to knock them in the head together. They are stubborn and fight each other every step of the way. Hot beyond belief.

Fun quirky, sad, romantic, passionate and one hell of an ending! Yeah that about sums up this book!
After taking care of her sick mother Brooke was left with a confession from her mother that has sent her to work at the company owned by her father in the hopes that she will be able meet him.
She gets hired as the securities executive Kevin. Kevin is known for his hard attitude and no nonsense work ethic.
Okay, yes, now Kevin and Brooke have started something that will possibly get them both of them in to a mess they didn't want or need. For him, well she is his ASSISTANT. For Booke, she might never get to know her father and possibly get her heart broken. Yes! The makings of a great series, and OMG the ending is a KILLER!!!! I don't think I will last till the next this one so good I read it in one sitting yes as I said before~ quirky, sexy , romantic, emotional and oh yeah SEXY!!!

Wow! I couldn’t put this book down and I was annoyed when I got to the end because I knew I would have to wait a while to read the next one.
The beginning of His Assistant starts in a very sad way, but by chapter 4 I was beginning to experience the first stirrings of anticipation and speculation. Was Mr. Reynolds whom I thought he was? I wonder what will happen when Brooke meets Mr. Andrews? As I wrote, this was the beginning of a series of questions I was mentally asking myself.
I think I started to love Brooke from the very first page of His Assistant. Kevin was an enigma I wanted to know more about. Together they are an explosive couple.
If you don’t like cliff hangers, maybe you should wait, but damn! His Assistant Part 1 is awesome! I can’t wait to read Part 2.

What rock have I been under to where I missed this gem!!!
LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE!!! I absolutely loved this book!!! You can't help but fall in love with Brooke. Poor girl had it a little rough. To go through life thinking your dad died before you were born only to find out that after your mom dies that he is alive and not only well but thriving would be a huge shock. I would not be sure how I would fare. However she took it well and made the decision to find out how he us as a person before subjecting her heart to anymore hurt.
This book is a great example of finding love when and where you least expect. Kevin is not too sure about her and she is not to sure about him. I love the banter between them and the explosion once they get together. But when Brooke finds out something important about him that he has not shared it could be a deal breaker!!!

Gifted for an honest review
His Assistant, Part 1 gets a strong five stars.
Brooke: she's been through so much for such a young woman and now she's facing the great big world on her own. A secret has been revealed, a mystery she needs to investigate that brings two men into her life. One could very well be her father and she's desperate to know for sure but the other, her new boss, may get in the way and possible ruin her chances before she finds out.
So far part 1 of the series has been a fantastic read. I'm enjoying the strong characters, Brooke with her smart mouth and determination and Kevin with his cocky smug attitude and sexy alpha-male looks.
Left on a juicy cliff-hanger, I can't wait for Part 2!

His Assistant, Part 1 by Sharon Cummin
I downloaded this book for free and happened to find it on my kindle one day decided to read it.
What ended up happening is I enjoyed it so much I had to go purchase books two and three. Well actually I went and bought the box set (trilogy) saved a few dollars purchasing the box set then buying them individually.
Anyway this is quite the story, I would suggest this trilogy.
To be honest the title of this book was a bit misleading I kind of thought it was another adult erotica romance book. But its way more then that. I actually would suggest a change of the books name lol.
Anyway this entire trilogy is a must read. I read these three books in one sitting I couldn't stop reading them.

This book is mouth-watering good. The way the story started had me so intrigued for more. Just trying to figure out the situation with Brooke and her unknown father made this a great read then factor in Kevin, just WOW. I love the push and pull that they give each other and the cute bickering which actually turns into a turn on for them. Then the ending came and big huge shock/surprise. I for one can't wait to see where there little trip in Vegas takes them. Will it be what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas or will this work out into something more. So ready to read book 2.

This is part one of a three part series. All I can say is bring on parts two and three. If you love a story with plenty of heat then this is for you. Brooke and Kevin are two passionate, sexy people. You will not be able to put this down.
