One of the best books I've read in my doctoral program! If you are working on--or even considering working on--or planning to work on something related to--a doctorate in education, I cannot recommend this one highly enough.
Butin covers all the components in a friendly style with tons of practical (and often funny) examples, but does so in depth and with enough clear detail to be eminently useful. Even as someone who has written a proposal and is now venturing into the final stretch of dissertation work, I never found anything in here boring or extraneous. Very well done!
Delivers as promised: a no-nonsense approach to the dissertation process for education practitioners. Takes the mystery and guesswork out of academia and allows for guidance throughout the entire process. Great institutions and great professors are the key to success; this book is a handy supplement.
Fantastic guide! Dan has a great conversational style that makes this a pleasure to read from cover to cover. Wherever you are in your PhD process, this is definitely one to keep on the bookshelf as a quick resource.
It's a great borrow from the library- the author provides some helpful templates, hints and activities I found this helpful to develop some focus It's readable Not overly academic Leaves you feeling like "I can do this"
I loved how the author walks the reader through the process of writing a dissertation and even provides guidance on the next steps once the dissertation is completed. Easy read. Makes the process seem manageable.
Really practical and helpful for anyone embarking on a dissertation in the field of education. I'm only just beginning my EdD journey and read this for my first research course. But I definitely see myself returning to it when I get to the dissertation portion of my program.
This book is highly recommended, I read it and I really liked it. It brings a great number of clarifications. The main reason I read it was because the theme fit perfectly with the theme of my dissertation. At the time, I was having trouble writing a perfect dissertation. So I got the information I needed to buy an essay from https://writemydissertationforme.co.u... , which also allowed me to have a high quality professional assistance. Cala has helped me tremendously to learn and to have a better level today.
This book gives a guideline on preparing for research, writing the dissertation, preparing for the defense, and what to do after you complete. The ideas are broad but give a clear idea of what to expect during the dissertation writing process. You cannot change the world with your dissertation but you can influence positive differences if your research is clear, concise and complete.
I especially appreciated the iterative emphasis of dissertation development as a process. I like that my GCU doctoral program integrates the dissertation in the coursework.
