Some people want to live forever for power, revenge, or world domination. Rose just wants to finish her TBR. Reclusive, socially awkward, and dramatically under-researched, Rose has decided the only way to get through her endless stack of romance novels is to become a vampire. Immortality = infinite reading time. It’s simple math. The only problem? The vampire she finds is deeply uninterested in biting her.
At 200 years old, Anthony is completely over the whole “undead” thing. His job at the blood bank pays the bills, but otherwise, he’s just existing—until Rose stumbles into his life with her ridiculous plan. She’s determined to join the vampire ranks. He’s determined to stop her. The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to deny the chemistry between them.
But Rose’s search for immortality has drawn the attention of another vampire—one who isn’t nearly as reluctant as Anthony. As tensions rise and temptations grow, Rose will have to does she really want to disappear into a book forever, or is real life worth taking a chance on?
Immortal for the Plot is a delightfully ridiculous, unconventional vampire romance perfect for readers who love banter, chaos, chemistry, and a heroine who takes ‘doing it for the plot’ a little too seriously.
Lola B. Marie is a Midwest-born indie romance author who writes stories with heart, heat, and a touch of chaos. She believes in empathy, equality, and the power of fiction to make people feel seen.
A lifelong romance reader and self-proclaimed “pissy Pisces,” Lola never imagined her daydreams would turn into published novels—but now she’s all in. When she’s not writing, she’s probably hanging out at her favorite local bookstore, Bedpost Books, dominating her fantasy football league, or overanalyzing a podcast while sipping Dr. Pepper and snacking on gummy candy.
She lives in the Midwest with her husband, son, and a house full of male pets who ensure she’s always outnumbered but never bored.
Lola is proudly pro-diversity, pro-women, pro-choice, pro-LGBTQIA+, pro-science, and anti-hate—because stories should be inclusive, and love should never have limits.
I swear if Lola writes it I’m reading it! I absolutely loved Rose. She’s chaotic, dramatic, and so relatable. The fact that she wants to become a vampire just to finish her TBR? Girl, same. This book had me grinning the whole time. The banter, the chemistry, the ridiculousness of it all was perfection. Lola never misses and Immortal for the Plot is officially one of my new comfort reads.
Rose is now in my top five favorite female main characters and no one can change my mind! As an avid reader, I heard myself through her so many times and had the best time on her journey. 5 stars with just enough spice for the story line. Everyone needs to read this book!
Congrats to my best friend on her third published book! I can’t wait for the world to be able to dive into this one 🫶🏼
Rose has spent her life in foster care, never quite believing love—or magic—was meant for her. Instead, she dives into her romance and romantasy books, escaping into worlds where happy endings always find their way. But when she realizes she’ll never finish her endless TBR in one lifetime, she hatches a bold plan: become immortal. Enter Anthony—the vampire who just might make it happen, if only he can convince her that life is still worth living as a mortal. This was a short, quirky, and surprisingly heartfelt read. The humor and charm make it easy to devour in one sitting, and Rose’s bookish personality is super relatable for anyone with an out-of-control TBR pile. On the flip side, the story isn’t particularly spicy (which could be a pro or con depending on what you’re looking for), and I wasn’t a huge fan of how the author tweaked traditional vampire lore—though that’s totally a personal preference. Overall, Immortal for the Plot is a light, witty, and creative spin on the vampire romance trope. Perfect for readers who want something cozy and clever rather than dark and steamy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Cute Vampire Romance with Heart, Humor, and Just the Right Amount of Bite
Looking for a cute vampire romance with a twist, amazing banter, and mild spice? This one is absolutely for you. I adored Rose—she’s stubborn, determined, and knows exactly what she wants. Her unwavering insistence on being turned into a vampire had me rooting for her from page one. And then there’s Anthony, a century-old vampire who is equally determined not to turn her, insisting she deserves a full human life before making that choice. Their dynamic is electric, endearing, and packed with tension in all the best ways.
I genuinely couldn’t put this book down. The chemistry, the humor, the emotional pull—it all worked perfectly. And honestly, anything Lola writes is an automatic read for me at this point.
Thank you, Lola, for sending me an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Immortal for the plot was such a quick easy read that I devoured in a little over an hour! I was so involved in the story I was so sad when I realized the end was near!
I never wanted it to end!
Rose in my new favorite FMC! I found her so relatable! Especially for a book loving queen who has an extremely long TBR!
Lola B Marie is such an amazing writer! The way she gave me all the feels, was awesome! This book was so funny, but there was so much depth to it!!
This was such an adorable take on the grumpy-sunshine trope!
This book had just the right amount of spice! Not too much, not to little!
Lola B. Marie this read was such an enjoyable read for me and I cant wait for more books from you!
This is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me, and I highly recommend Immortal For The Plot!
Rose is probably the most relatable FMC that I have come across, she has a huge tbr that she realizes she wont get to finish in her lifetime. So what does she do? She comes up with a pretty clever idea to be turned into a vampire just to be able to have an infinite amount of time to tackle her tbr. Definitely will be reading this again very soon as it as it quickly became my favorite book of all time by lola! I finished it in one sitting while waiting for my husband to get off work and loved every second of it. I was constantly smiling and giggling. spice is mild but I feel theres just the perfect amount of it for this story. 10/10 recommend
A quirky vampire romance that totally stole my bookish heart 🖤
The main character wanting to become immortal just to get through her never-ending romance TBR? Absolutely hilarious and relatable 😂 I loved how this story balanced humor, heart, and just the right sprinkle of spice.
It’s a cute, quick read that still manages to feel romantic and fun…perfect for anyone who loves their paranormal romance with a wink and a bit of bite. 🩸✨
Lola B. Marie delivered such a clever twist on vampire romance…one that every romance reader can appreciate!
oh my goodness I absolutely love this it is a quick cute read, and let's be honest how many of us have thought we wish we could live a little longer just to get that TBR done, when your dreams are to live long enough to finish all the books you ever wanted to read because you want that adventure that comes from a book because you don't feel like you can have that in your real life you don't feel like you do well having that in your life what better option is there than to become immortal, he's broody she's spunky it was just a fun little read.
I knew this was going to be so good. Lola knows how to put so many good qualities in her characters. I always end up loving both the MMC (Anthony) and FMC (Rose) so much. This story packs so many great comedic sentences and banter, it kept me smiling and laughing at some of the comments that Rose made and the reaction of Anthony. I love the progression of their attraction and connection. I love the concept behind vampirism and the small history behind it. It made it even more unique and I ate the whole book within a day. I highly recommend this book!
Rose is a human who is seeking to be a vampire and is on a search to be turned. Anthony is a vampire who works at the blood bank where Rose goes once a month. Anthony tries to convince Rose to stay in the human world. Gavin spots Rose and wants her but Anthony refuses to allow that to happen. If you like grumpy vampires who meet sunshine with mild spice and will make you laugh this book is for you. The banter of the characters will keep you interested!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. I will read ANYTHING by Lola! This book was absolutely binge worthy. I think all of us book girlies can relate to the FMC, Rose, who wants to become immortal so she can read ALL of the romantasy books. I know I have wished a time or to that I could be immortal, or at least pause time, to indulge in as many books as I possibly can.
Determined human girl + love struck vampire = the perfect *hoa hoa hoa* read
This was such a fun read filled with complex characters and a fresh concept on vampires. Rose is quirky and amusing while Anthony is absolutely adorable. Both have compelling backstories that play into their love story and it just sucks you in from beginning to end. And who wouldn't want an unlimited lifetime of reading love stories while living out an epic one at the same time?!
This book was sooooo good! The characters are such a great match, and the story line is so good!! I will be buying a physical copy as soon as it comes out! Anthony is 🥵 and Rose is a perfect match for him!
Loved this little novella I received as an arc! It was an awesome little palette cleanser. It made me laugh and gave me such warm feelings! I wish I could read it again for the first time! I’ll for sure be checking out more from Lola b Marie!
4⭐️ Tropes: 🧛vampire romance 🩸one bed 🧛dual pov 🩸grumpy x sunshine 🧛banter
A really cute and quick read! I loved how unique and chaotic the tropes were, and the whole premise of a girl wanting to become a vampire just to finish her TBR was so fun. Both main characters were really enjoyable to follow, and the MMC was honestly such a cutie. Some of the lines were a little bit cringy at times, but I feel like that was part of the charm and fit the overall tone of the story. If you’re looking for a short, light-hearted, and entertaining vampire romcom, this one is definitely worth picking up. 🧛🩸
This is a short read BUT so worth it! It was hilarious and sweet. I loved the characters and how Anthony treated Rose. Very sweet as well. Perfect for a free afternoon.
