I read and loved this book, but I read the eBook and am hoping the actual print copy will be suitable for a storytime. If the illustrations are large, this book is perfect. Fun, colorful, and invites children to spot the difference on each page.
Such a cute, fun idea. My little one is a bit too young to really enjoy the book as it is meant to be and was not that interested in the illustrations as it is. But I think most children of the appropriate age will love looking for the hidden objects in the pictures and I plan to revisit the book with him in a year or so :-)
This is one of two titles that were the beginning of Taro Gomi career. Gomi’s talent was apparent from the beginning as this title asks the child to look for an object on the facing page and the said object is not easily found as it is a part of one of several similar figures. Visual discrimination at its best. the other title published with this one was Who Ate It.
The young reader is asked to locate an object hidden on the opposite page located somewhere on several animals of the same species. As always Gomi Gomi’s hidden objects are cleverly and skillfully disguised. Although this is a board book which are considered for the very young, this particular title because of its well disguised would be appropriate through kindergarten.
Reminds me of the Highlights magazines I read as a kid with the hidden pictures, but these weren't as deep picture wise and not as interesting as those.

From Jen: This clever little board book has bright illustrations that my baby can appreciate while my preschooler plays along with the hide and seek game. On each page there is a group of animals where one animal is cleverly hiding an object, for example, a raccoon hides a striped sock on its tail. Just like in any good hide and seek game, you may need to look twice to find what you’re looking for!
Seems hard for my 16 month old but does hold her attention and she likes the style of illustration very much. Good for 15 mo and up, I think. Progresses from easier to harder to find illustrations as you go thru.
Lexi's eyes lit up, she was bouncing up and down, and had such a sense of accomplishment as she was able to find all the hidden animals and objects in this fun book.
