Jerusha Jones lives in a small town in the west end of the Columbia River Gorge. When she grows up, she fully intends to be a feisty old lady. In the meantime, she regularly maxes out her library's lending limit, has happily declared a truce with the clover in the lawn, but is fanatical about sealing up cracks in her old house, armed with a caulking gun. Due to the number of gaps she has yet to locate, however, she has also perfected her big spider shriek.

Jerusha loves wool socks, Pink Lady apples with crunchy peanut butter, scenery of breathtaking grandeur, and weather just cool enough to require a sweater, all of which are plentiful in the Pacific Northwest. She is eternally grateful to have escaped the corporate world with its relentless, mind-numbing meetings and now writes (or doodles or fantasizes or cogitates or stares out the window or whatever you want to call it) full time.

I find it hard to review the books of this series individually; I binge-read all six books over the course of a weekend and enjoyed them to pieces, but that does not make for clear and separate memories of each …

Suffice to say this was another very enjoyable installment in an extremely entertaining series. Description is fun ("He looks like a cross between my childhood teddy bear and Sean Connery"), and the dog Tuppence is a star – I love the use of "hoovering" in reference to her scavenging.

This was fun.

The usual disclaimer: I received this book via Netgalley for review.

You can tell I'm enjoying a series when I read 3 books in as many days. This is another enjoyable instalment that follows Meredith Morehouse, curator of a small museum in a anything-but-sleepy town in Washington state. I'm getting used to her managing to always be in the thick of trouble now, and as usual, enjoyed the mesh of historical artefacts, a well written community and multiple mysteries.

I'm glad it's been cold and wet here as it's afforded me the opportunity to curl up in the warm with a cup of tea and another short, but fun read.

As with book two I'd recommend that you start from the beginning and read in order to get the full depth of character and backstory, as little time is wasted on recaps - but ultimately none of the previous knowledge is required and this would work fine as a standalone, you just might get a few little spoilers here and there if you don't read them in order.

My thanks go to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for providing me with a review copy of this book.

Meredith Morehouse, curator of Imogene Museum in Washington, is desperate to hire a gift shop manager when Wade Snead asks her to review old family papers for value. As she doesn't see anything valuable at first review, she starts asking questions about the family and the suicide of the patriarch. Little did she know of the explosive actions that would follow.

This book marks the second one I've read in this series. I was interested in the story for the entire book and I would like to read more books in this series.

I received this book free in an author giveaway. My opinion is my own and not influenced by anyone.

The unique mysteries continue in this third book of the Imogene Museum Mystery series. The characters continue to develop while introducing new people to get to know and welcome to this small community. Full of all kinds of interesting information. I feel this should be read as a series.

Third book in a row and I wonder if maybe it was a bit too much? But what do you do if you liked the two previous ones? You want to keep on reading en that's what I did. Maybe I should have picked something else in between.

The cover and title are a real hit. The author keeps the picture of the museum on the cover to add to the recognizability of the series. I can only applaud that.

About the contents. The story starts with a real funny story but afterwards it is based on something that happened in the first book. At the time, I didn't really get why it was mentioned but now I understood. I wonder if it wil be the case for everybody. The first book was written in 2012 and the third in 2014. I read the books within more or less one week, but I think it's possible for most people. Will they be able to remember? I agree that it is talked about again in this book, but I keep having doubts.

The story still contains action and funny parts and what I do appreciate is that the author also emphasises the social part of het village.

Conclusie

3 sterren.

It certainley wasn't a bad book, but I liked number two more. I will take a brake from them and than I will read the remaining books. 3 stars.

Meredith is given a stack of papers that once belong to the family of a man believed to have committed suicide a decade before. While perusing the papers Meredith begins to question if he really did commit suicide. Meredith helps Deputy Dale search for the truth. As curator of the Imogene Museum in Flatts Landing, Washington she is kept busy, with finding a new manager for the museum's gift shop, researching and validating items and of course trying to make time for her love interest Peter Sills when he is free from
his duties as tugboat captain.

There are emotional highs and lows in Sight Shot. As always Jerusha threads humor throughout her series, but there is also the sensitive issue of investigating a suicide. I love that the series revolves around Meredith and her involvement as curator for the Imogene Museum. I live in a rural area near a small town with a privately owned and operated museum. Just a thirty minute drive a is another museum a little larger but very active with many changing exhibits and activities to excite anyone who loves visiting and learning of past events and cultures. This series although set in a different area reminds me of my own small town home. The residents of Flatts Landing are open and friendly. Everyone either knows or knows of nearly everyone else and welcome visitors. I can indulge my love of museums in this series. I do not believe I have ever read an mystery series using the backdrop of a museum with its curator as the heroine. The books are quick reads with characters and plots that are so well written and believable. Each book can be read as a standalone, but you will not want to miss reading them all to watch the characters grow as the series develops.

This book took me through a range of emotions. I was giggling by the fourth page and held my breath in areas and at the end felt the pain Meredith did, along with the fear.

Meredith is the Curator of the Imogene Museum, although she does a wide range of jobs for the place. She seems very comfortable with who she is and her job.

The supporting characters, Sheriff Marge, tugboat captain Pete, Deputy Dale, and various museum employees all pull the story together along with one of my favorite characters Amos.

Handed some family papers to go through, Meredith is hard put to put any great significance to the papers, until she discovers the uncle of the man who handed her the papers was supposed to have committed suicide ten years earlier. Can she and Deputy Dale prove that it may not be suicide? The romp through the small community and surrounding countryside prove to be both entertaining and nail biting. I need to go back and read the first two books of the series.

I recommend reading this book, if you enjoy cozies with humor and a bit of an edge,

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

When asked to research old documents for a local family, Meredith Morehouse, curator of the eclectic Imogene Museum, jumps at the chance. As if she didn’t already have enough to do — hiring a new gift shop manager; keeping tabs on Rupert Hagg, the eccentric museum director whose naivety regarding the wiles of a persistent gold-digging newcomer may prove problematic; not to mention finding time to see Pete Sills, the hunky tugboat captain she’s just started dating.

Then Meredith’s investigation unearths hints that a decade-old suicide might not have been suicide after all. So many secrets in the small, riverside town of Platts Landing, Washington. Will someone kill again to hide the truth?

Wade, the person asking for research is the killer. He killed his uncle to get shares of a silver mine. Meredith stumbles on the answers, Wade attacks her in the museum, but she gets away.

All ends well.

Curator Meredith Moorehouse finds herself hiring an eccentric lady to replace her gift shop manager but it does not last long when she finds a couple was locked in the museum a few days later. As she was about to fire her, the woman quits but tries to run but a strange man stops her from leaving.

The man wants her to go through some documents and see the legality of them. Not really her domain, she says will research it and looks through his information he left behind. During her research she stumbles upon a decade old suicide that might not be.

Once again she is support by her female sheriff friend, her intern Greg who is still recovering, and her blooming friendship with Pete a tugboat captain. Will she be able to find the truth before the killer realizes what she stumbled across? This is another interesting storyline in the series.

So many things take place in this book, if I listed them I would either forget one or give something away. Needless to say, I am still waiting for a decent date for Pete and Meredith and would really, really like to see a museum display of chamber pots. Also, with a daily visitor average in the mid-2os, I wonder how long the Hagg fortune can keep all the people employed that Meredith seems to hire. But, little facts of life aside, the stories continue to be enjoyable and the citizens of Platts Landing continue to provide a picturesque escape from every day life.

How have I only just discovered this author and this series! I love it!! This is the third in the series and they just keep getting better. The characters are great, I love Meredith and how she interacts with the other supporting characters in the book as the story develops, I am history and crime nerd so books based in and around a museum and with a crime/cosy mystery twist are like heaven to me. Really enjoyed it, a lovely way to spend a few hours, genuinely thrilled I have found this author and series. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the previous books in this series but the more I read about it, the more I love it! Jerusha Jones has a wonderful way of telling stories and I'll buy the next one for sure! In this book new characters appear but we still have this feeling that we know the life of this town and its inhabitants. We discover more about the previous ones and this gives the impression we really know them, they are my friends now. A lot of suspense in a totally different style than the first books. You'll love it.

I liked this one better than the second one, although the ending left me with more questions than answers. I liked how a clue from the first book was brought up in this book. A couple of new characters in this one, adding more depth to the character pool(not like it needed it but still a good thing) I like that these are quick, fast reads; not so much detail that it bogs the story down and adds filler. Looking forward to the next!

No Nightmares!

I enjoy these lighthearted mysteries! They hold my interest, but can be read at bedtime with no nightmares! The first book had one bad word, apparently out of place for this author as these next two books in the series were absolutely fit for Christian readers. I'd even recommend them for young people. While 3 stars may not seem that great, it's a pretty good rating from me . I reserve 4 and 5 stars only for literary classics.

I just finished this page turner because I couldn't put it down! The characters are well rounded and interesting and the plot had me plowing through it. I live in the NW, so I love the regional weather dialog, but mostly I love that this is a book without sex or graphic violence...I read plenty of that and it's not always necessary for an entertaining story!

I am absolutely loving this series! The main character is awesome and so are many of the other quirky people she associates with. I also like how the romance is minimal. I am getting rather tired of mystery series where the author won't let two people get together so she can keep writing about romantic angst, Joanne Fluke for example. The story is great enough without it.

This was such a pleasant book. I loved all the characters, hopefully Pete will have more time in the next book, didn't get to know him much but I also haven't read the first two books of this series. Edna was my favorite. But like I said all the characters were delightful. I loved the small town feel. Good story. Good feel good novel.

I am rating this on the fact that I need light reading right now, and I like these characters, the setting, and interesting mysteries... these are just simple reads with primarily nice people who treat each other with consideration and kindness... except for the people committing the robberies, murders, etc...

I think this series keeps getting better and better. Meredith is busy as the new year begins with the museum, Pete and the new shop manager Frankie. She is also helping the police look into an old suicide that could be murder. A fast read that I enjoyed and looking for book 4.

So many mysteries, so little time! And Meredith Morehouse has lots of mysteries to solve, from a ten year old suicide to finding a new gift shop manager for the museum.
I really enjoyed this book (as well as the others before it) and am itching to read the next one. Keep 'em coming please!
