A book my 6 yr old loved, a little old for my preschoolers. A solid reading level 1 book, this reader has a good amount of advanced vocabulary words, but not so long that it discourages a new reader. Used it for his read out loud book, which was perfect. It took about 5 mins for him to read and had just enough new vocabulary words to make it challenging. Also, it was a fun and interesting story he could get into. He liked it so much, he asked for more by this author. Great reading book!

I would love to read this book in the beginning of the school year so my students and I can go over the class rules in a fun way. I would follow up this book with a class expectations activity to set the tone for the rest of the year. I think this book would be perfect for younger primary students because they do have imaginary friends at times and can relate to Pinkalicious. She decides to bring her pet unicorn with her to school, but is chastised by her teacher. They agree that Goldilicious can only stay if she follows all the rules. The pictures are really vivid and will be great at capturing my students attention.

School can be hard. Especially when you bring your imaginary/invisible unicorn.

I don’t like that she uses her emotions to blackmail her teacher into letting the unicorn stay.

There is cursive on the wall. So I’m assuming second or third grade kids. I’m sure there are better ways of making new friends than talking about your imaginary unicorn.

I don’t know why these books severely rub me the wrong way. Maybe because they are blatantly marketed to my young girl children? They reinforce undesirable behavior? The stories don’t flow well? I wish my daughter didn’t love them so much.

I enjoyed this quote "Rules are something I do not love about school." I like it because it relates to me and how I don't love all the rules schools have either. If school didn't have so many rules I would love school a lot more. I like Mr. Pushkin. I liked him because he allowed Pinkalicious to bring Goldie to school. By him letting her bring Goldie to school it let her have a lot more fun at school. One theme I noticed while reading this book is that you should always find something you love about something that you don't love. For instance, Pinkalicious wasn't enjoying school without Goldie so she improvised and brought Goldie to school with her. Therefore she had more fun doing something she normally wouldn't love. My overall feelings about this book are that this is an awesome book! I would definitely recommend this book for any young child. It has a great theme and overall is a wonderful book to read.

"Pinkalicious: School Rules!" is an absolutely adorable tale about the wonderful and vivacious Pinkalicious! This little girl is happy and full of life, always staying one step ahead of everyone around her as she enjoys her day and whatever would happen to come her way. In this most recent tale, Pinkalicious is not enjoying her school day for her 'imaginary' unicorn is not with her. Maybe, just maybe, her teacher can help her overcome her sadness to be able to enjoy her day through it all.

I will highly recommend the different step stories to any parent, any time! There are so many types of stories out there, each and every one helpful when it comes to teaching children to read. If you would like a story that will make since and be simple, you have found the perfect style to read.

In this book, the teacher says unicorns aren't allowed in school, but when the main character cries "a little harder" Mr. Pushkin says, "Your unicorn may stay, just this once." Ugh. That's not how we hold boundaries. The writer could have just as easily had the teacher tell Pinkalicious, "If your unicorn is going to be at school, you have to teach her the rules and she needs to follow them" or something similar instead of having the adult cave at the sight of a child's tears. Does the "no unicorns" rule exist for a good reason at all? This is also the second Pinkalicious book I've read and neither of them had named PoC characters or disability representation in the illustrations. Such a disappointing book.

Piper was scared to go to school because it was a new school and she did not know anybody so she brought Goldie with her. Every body loved Piper and Goldie but the teacher did not . The teacher said you can't bring her here tomorrow and if you do you have to do 56 pushups Piper was devastated. But the next day she made 12 friends. BY AVY

Even imaginary friends need to learn to follow rules in the classroom.

Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Pinkalicious is a very active and imaginative little girl. There are several books in this series.

In this most recent tale, Pinkalicious is not enjoying her school day for her 'imaginary' unicorn is not with her. Maybe, just maybe, her teacher can help her overcome her sadness to be able to enjoy her day through it all.

This was an adorable book! The author was very creative and the story was very engaging. My niece loved this book as she could relate to the story. The illustrations were also done nicely and gave nice cues for struggling readers. I really enjoyed this book and how it relates to school rules. This would be a nice book to add to my classroom library.

This book is a classic easy read-aloud to use in small groups within the classroom. I would provide this book along with others from the series for students to check out from the classroom library to use as they are learning to read. These are perfect books to introduce early on because they are easy reads, interesting, and quick for them to understand.

We are so proud of you for reading "Pinkalicious: School Rules!" all by yourself! You learned that rules help everyone stay happy and safe — just like Pinkalicious did at school. Now you know that listening to your teacher and being kind makes the classroom fun for all your friends. Keep following the rules, sweet girl, and keep reading more books. You are doing amazing!

I am unfamiliar with the Pinkalicious program but for a story constrained by the language necessary for a Level 1 Early Reader, Pinkalicious: School Rules! is pretty darn cute. New little readers will love it.

Pretty book but inconsequential, I feel. The art is ok but occasionally takes me out of the story.
