So following from my review of Spring, this one. OH MY GOODNESS, this one got even deeper into my heart. If that was possible. Marcus and Rose, who truly love each other and will stop it nothing to be together. Even if the one standing in their way is Rose's father. He's not willing to lose another daughter to the wrong side of town. Never again.

Marcus though, is an honest, sweet man who loves Rose with all of his heart. But he does have his own obstacles. Nelson, a kid that is getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. His father that seems to be choosing alcohol over his own well being. Rose's father who will stop it nothing, including getting him arrested to keep him away from Rose.

What no one took into consideration is Rose herself. A stubborn, loving, not willing to settle for anything that she doesn't want. Tired of being protected and smothered, she's taking a stand for what she wants. Not what everyone else wants her to want.

With the Latin Kings out to seek revenge and their money, they are willing to take the lives of the important people in Marcus' life. Torn between wanting to protect and doing what's right, there isn't many options for him.

Will doing what he feels is the right thing to to tear him and Rose apart forever? OH I can't wait to read Fall next!!! LOVE LOVE this series, I will say it again!! I am glad that I was recommended to read this series. Thanks Kristina! I have found a new permanent author on my shelf!!

Another beautiful cover and an interest evoking blurb had me going after the third book in the Sweetwater County, Summer in Sweetwater County.

Again I will repeat myself when I say that just like the previous book in this series, I enjoyed and loved this one too. :)
Rose and Marcus are from different sides of life. Marcus is poor and struggling to stay afloat by working different jobs while taking care of his alcoholic father and also studying. Rose is from an affluent family with her future secured financially. Despite these differences one thing unites them and that is their love for each other.
Rose's parents, especially her father, are against her relationship with Marcus. They think he is unworthy, unreliable and totally unsuitable for Rose. Amidst all these difficulties in the path to their happily-ever-after, Marcus is unwittingly embroiled in a gang war. With his as well as the lives of his loved ones on stake, Marcus has much to loose and much to prove to the townspeople as well as to himself!

I loved to see Rose and Marcus together. Both are strong and confident characters who know what they want from life. There love for each other and the concern they show for each other is endearing and I connected with them instantly. I was so engrossed in the story that I almost lost touch with reality and it felt like I was there right beside them in the book!

The town of Sweetwater is as enchanting as always and the people so concerned for one another. I loved their attempts at trying to aid Rose and Marcus and trying to reason on their behalf.

The story flows effortlessly and gives the reader a dose of emotions, action, mystery, anticipation and a great story. Ciara's writing style is captivating and pulls the reader in her story. I loved reading the book and just wish I get to meet Rose and Marcus again in the upcoming book in this series.

The mystery, suspense and thriller element in the book keeps the reader on the edge of his seat. There is so much happening which kept me captivated till the very end. I could not keep down the book until I had finished it. :)

All in all, this is a beautiful and very interesting book from Ciara Knight which everyone will enjoy reading. 4.5 out of 5 and I strongly recommend Summer in Sweetwater County to everyone and look forward to reading more from Ciara in the future. I just loved this series and wish more of the people of Sweetwater in the future. :)

I received the book from the author and the tour organizers and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

I received this book for a fair and honest review. So. I thought the other 2 books were great, I didn't think they could get any better. I was wrong, this story has very strong emotional strings that wraps around your heart and leaves you breathless. The town once again , I wish I could move to is in full force and wonderful characters! The love and emotions brought forth from this story is amazing. I loved all of the books and they are very well worth the read. Rose Burton is raised with money and a good life, but she has a health ailment that her parents baby her too much over. She is trying to live her life and make the best decisions for herself, but her parents step in too overprotected. Marcus Vega lives on the other side of the bridge and has not has such a great upbringing and people judge on where he lives. Love never sees the difference and Rose’s parents think the worst of a young man trying to make himself better. Marcus tries to protect her, but he seems to still have Rose connected into the wrong thing. We see all the characters from the past stories up and thriving in the town and like always come to the aide. I have to say that these books should be a best seller and the love and warmth that passes through these stories will grab you and leave you wanting to move there. I love how everything is captured and you feel everything that they go through. The story is truly a wonderful and great read you will enjoy it.

This one I didn't like. It didn't have the small town feeling the previous two had which is the main reason to read it. Because otherwise it is again not a very complex story with pretty flat characters.

And there is a lot happening in this one but it feels kind of boring. And the main characters are supposed to be very young yet one can see that it wasn't written by somebody who remembers what it is like to be that age. I am not young either but these characters just felt unreal and awkward to me.

And so repetitive! Hoe many times did Rose say not to protect her? This is probably why characters seem so flat because all of them seem to repeat the same thing over and over again.

*** was a free book *** take my opinion with a pinch of salt - it was all just so chaotic and then instantly resolved without any issues. There was a dad who didn’t think the boy was good enough for her daughter who has diabetes.. fine, typical but fine. But then there were tornadoes causing havoc, debris smashing through the cafe, a baby being delivered without medical assistance, after the baby, there was someone with a gun threatening to shoot (and did shoot)… and this was all within the last 5 chapters. It’s not a book i’d recommend, I didn’t like any of the character, the premise of it being a romance book was a bit lost imo. Not my cup of tea, wouldn’t read it again, won’t continue the series. It was just a lot to take on especially with it being a short novel. 1*

Summer in Sweet Water County By Ciara Knight
4 Stars

I was given this book as an ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.
I will first start off by saying that these books can be read as stand alone books, however you really need to read the whole series know what they are talking about when they use references in talking to people in the 1st and 2nd book.. With that said here is what I thought of Summer In Sweet Water County.
SPOILER ALERT
This book does the back and forth of the view point between the 2 main leads. I have to say I love, love, love books that do this! That way we get to see both sides of the story.
This book and the first one where by far my favorite of the series. Marcus Vega (male lead) works in the coffee house in the town. He is a supporting character in the other 2 books. You also get to meat Rose Burton (female lead) you may remember her from the first book when she had a meeting with Eric. These two are young teenager love birds. Winter in Sweet Water County was a young lady, Lisa, and man, Eric. Spring in Sweet Water County County was an older couple, Judy and James. Now we have the young love.
You also get to find out what happens to all the other leads in this book. This book is full of action, young love (no sex) and lots of drama (funny and serious drama).
Marcus has had a tough life. He grew up and still lives on the wrong side of the creek, or as we would say "the wrong side of the tracks." Rose. on the other hand, grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. She does have a health issue that has made her independent and strong. She also has suffered a loss that made her parents think they need to smother her so she won't do any wrong. However, by dating Marcus she is defying them and her father the most. You will get to see this couple grow and learn what it means to sacrifice for the greater good.
In this book you will also see the town come together. I would have also liked to have seen this book longer, however it is so fast paced and so much packed into it it went by in a matter of an hr.
Everyone's lives gets wrapped up nice and neat in a tight bow. The end of the stories might not be how you wanted them to end up, however I think everyone will be satisfied.

I could not have picked a better book to end this series! Summer in Sweetwater County is a beautiful end to an absolutely beautiful series. It inspires so much love and hope that I could not help but be so filled with love. Marcus has a gorgeous soul you can not only feel but see the light that pours from it. I loved reading about him. Rose is a strong independent young woman that left me cheering in her corner. These two together are exceptionally stunning and made me remember what it was like to be young and in love! It was such a remarkable feeling that I had with reading this book. I felt that Summer in Sweetwater County ended perfectly I was thrilled with how this book pulled the whole series together and finished it of nicely! Thank you Ciara Knight for giving me a new hope for romance books.

This book has a very different tone than the “Winter…” and “Spring…” books. Knight writes about poverty, prejudice, and gang violence. This brings a lot of realism to the Sweetwater series. There is no county untouched by these things. I applaude her for calling attention to these somber, grittier topics rather than writing the entire series through rose colored glasses.

The story is centered around the young love between Marcus and Rose. While Marcus lives on ‘the wrong side of the bridge,’ Rose lives in the luxury that money can buy. To be together, they must find a way to get past the local corruption, prejudices, and the threat of gang retaliation.

Knight skillfully writes a story that is thought provoking and filled with suspense. The way she weaves these topics into the Sweetwater series is clever and genuine. I feel that this book is well written, and I give it 5 stars.

Awesome third book to this series. these two kids have so much against them yet they still are there for one another. It's a good thing she is so stubborn she needs it. He has such a caring soul even though he has seen so many bad things, not many young men would be so understanding of her problems. Her father needed to be slapped :) I loved how the town was there to help him. i can't wait to read the next one Fall in Sweetwater County.

This is absolutely the worst book that I have ever read. It reads like a poorly written 8th grade literature assignment. UGH!

Great addition to this series. Two young people from opposite sides of the track fall in love. She sees in him the ability for him to achieve his dreams, but her Father only sees his address isnt on the "right side of town". They have a rough road ahead but they believe if they work together they can both achieve their happiness. Will her father and the gangs be able to stop them.. youll have to read to find out!

2.5 stars... I was in a book club that picked #7 of this series and now I feel compelled to read the whole thing... I have enjoyed some of them but this one was just so unrealistic... it felt like the author was writing about a TV show she saw, just didn't feel like she put a lot of effort into it. Disappointing... but only 1 book to go so I'm going to finish... I do enjoy the character crossovers!

IT’S AMAZING THE POOR CHOICES THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE FORCED TO MAKE IN LIFE.WATCHING THEIR RELATIONSHIP EVOLVE WAS LIKE WATCHING A CAR WRECK ABOUT TO HAPPEN. I KEPT THINKING THIS ISN’T GOING WELL AND I HOE IT GETS STRAIGHTENED OUT BY THE END. SAD. ;+

Such a good book!

I was so happy that Marcus's conflicts with the gang members and with Mr. Burton were handled smoothly and weren't long and drawn out!

This is number three in the series and the author has taken us on quite a journey with this one. The others didn't have much suspense but this one does. This is a rich girl falling in love with a boy from on the other side of the tracks only this one has a truly awesome male character. Marcus is by far one of the best male leads I have read, well to be honest all the male leads in this series are great. He has to work hard for everything and even though he loves Rose, he knows that the best thing for her is to go to college alone with out him. Only with her father having a major grudge and keeping Rose on a very short leash things don't go as planned when Marcus gets tagged for a murder he didn't commit. This book is just good but it does follow to strong young people who grow up to be strong adults. I loved this one. Also I like how all the previous stories meld into this one and we get to meet Lisa and Eric's baby in a big way that does change quite a few things. Go and enjoy this series.

Normally, I love everything about the Sweetwater County books. As a matter of a fact this is the first one that I was not head over heels for. This one felt rushed and the storyline just didn't fit in the little area of America that I created in my mind. It was more like what would happen outside a city not in a small rural area. To me that is anyway, you may love it. Don't let me influence you too much, start with Winter in Sweetwater County and fall in love with the town/county and the characters.

I am loving this series, the characters (even though there were some errors in the beginning chapter/s) and the author's writing style. So much so that I'm reading them in one session and finding them end too soon as I devour the story to see how it all ends.
